CHAPTER 8: GETTING SOMEWHERE.

(POV: Mysterious Narrator.)

As Strea and Proteus continued to clash swords, Thomas and Lady were fighting one another. The magicborn thrusted with no end, as Thomas did his best to guard against her. As he rolled and dodged the blade of her sword, Lady looked on at him with a puzzled expression.

"Why aren't you trying to strike me?" She asked. "IF you don't strike, you will die."

"If I do..." Thomas said back. "I would kill or hurt you, and that's something that I DON'T want!"

Lady gave a tilt of her head, still looking emotionlessly puzzled.

"I don't understand. Why would you not wish to hurt someone who's trying to slay you?"

"Because I'm trying to save you!" Thomas replied.

"Save me? W-what are you on about? I don't need saving!"

Lady positioned her rapier and charged forward. Seeing that she was still trying to kill him, Thomas guarded once more. Scowling with frustration.

"You can deny all you like! I WILL save you, Lady! That I swear!"

Lady's eyes widened as she then spun about to a stop.

"How do you know my name?" She quizzed. "We only met today."

"No.." Thomas replied. "We've known each other MUCH longer than that."

"Lies!" Lady said with a scowl. "You say lies!"

"I don't speak any lies." Thomas replied. "I only speak the truth to you."

(POV: Thomas.)

As I looked at her, Lady gave the face that showed that she was taking in and considering one's words. Though she would still most likely throw it aside, I knew that I was starting to get somewhere, for she was literally speaking to me, and even more than just words that she's said to me in our last fight.

"She's still in there!" I thought. "I know she is. She HAS to be."

As Lady then looked towards me and scowled, she charged and attacked with thrusted that felt slightly more hesitant, than previously. This fact gave me some hope in the situation that Lady was in.

(POV: Mysterious Narrator.)

As Thomas continued to try to bring Lady back to her senses, a figure the man in Apple green was sneering as he looked at the battle below. He chuckled beneath his breath as she watched Thomas and Lady clash blades.

"It must be heartbreaking to fight the love of your life." He sighed. "Although, what would I know about it since no-one loves me. But all the same, it's certainly very entertaining to watch."

As the man then sniggered, he was clearly reveling at the sight greatly. From how things seemed, it appeared that THIS man had a distaste and hate towards Thomas. As he continued to watch, Billster was firing arrows left and right, slaying any foes within sight. As he then saw Timothy having some trouble the 17 year-old decided to assist his brother.

"Hey Timothy! Duck down!"

"Right!"

Timothy did as he was told and ducked as a barrage of arrows landed on their targets.

"Hey! Move towards the right!"

Billster did as a massive glacier of ice froze a hoard of knights. As the brothers stood back to back, Billster handed the man what appeared to be a grenade.

"Want to blow some of these fiends up so we can help our friends?"

"Sure." Timothy replied. "It'll help get my anger out."

"Then as they say... bombs away."

"BOOM!"
