Chapter Nine- Who Is A Scavengers Family?

"My parents haven't hurt me, Ben" Rey wasn't sure what she should be thinking right now. Kylo had said her parents. Sure, they left her when she was only a child, but she knew that they had a good reason, and she knew that they were coming back… one day.

"Then why did they leave you?"

"They're coming back."

"No, they're not! You know the truth, Rey, they're not coming back. Don't waste your life like this, please. Join me and we can take the lives of who took your parents from you!" said Kylo.

"No! I'm not a murderer like you!" shouted Rey. "My parents are out there, so are my friends. You can be my friend, Ben, you can go back to your mother and help her find her brother, Luke Skywalker!"

"You might have friends, Rey, but they are not your family! the only family you have alive is-" Kylo stopped talking.

"Who. My only family alive it who?" Rey fell quiet.

"You are not who you think you are" said Kylo.

Rey stood up and walked to the door.

"Then who am I, Ben?" were Rey's last words before she opened the door and ran out.

"I thought I knew." Kylo whispered to himself as he watched the door slam closed behind her.

Kylo ren had been pacing around the Death Star for hours now, it was nearing evening and Rey hadn't been seen. Kylo had informed General Hux to be on guard and that Rey had her lightsaber back.

To be honest, Ren didn't know what the girl would do. He didn't think that Rey would try to pull a one-person heist all by her own, but then again, she was Rey.

"No sign of the girl, sir" informed a Stormtrooper to the masked man.

"Continue looking" ordered Ren. "Do not stop until you find her."

"Yes, sir" said the Stormtrooper and he marched off down the corridor leading his troops.

"Rey… please come back."

Rey had no idea where she was. She had been on the Death Star for weeks now, and even with half of it destroyed she still didn't know her way around. She knew that Kylo was looking for her, but quite frankly she was currently looking for him.

Rey was braver than anyone in the galaxy, but the Death Star was a horribly evil place to be and it frightened her to the core. But one thing was on her mind. Was Kylo right? Did her parents really abandon her because they were bad people? Of course, Rey would never want to believe it, but what kind of parents left their child behind on a planet were anything could kill you?

Rey began to wander around. If she kept on walking maybe she would find her way back to Kylo.

"Ben? Where are you?"

Meanwhile on the bridge with General Hux…

"Has Ren found the girl?"

"Not yet, General Hux."

It was a never-ending war between Kylo Ren and Hux. He had heard tales of how Lord Darth Vader and Grand Moth respected and agreed with each other, Hux had no idea why he and Ren couldn't get along like that.

"General Hux" said one of the women sitting at a control counter. "There is a large object on our radar."

Hux moved closer to inspect the issue.

"Turn on our flood lights." Hux ordered.

The object became clearer and more spread out.

"Sir" called out another officer. "That's no object."

"The Resistance Fleet!" said Hux. "load our weapon. Prepare our ships and men. Find the girl! And find Ren!"

"Rey!"

Kylo was shouting now.

He had just been informed that the resistance fleet were flying in attack mode towards the already damaged Death Star. The First Order were closer to the Supreme Leader's base than ever, if they could get there then the Resistance would be doomed.

"Rey!"

Kylo just wanted to find Rey.

"Sir, the girl has been spotted by the launch bay." Spoke a Stormtrooper.

Ren walked off down the corridor quickly he could not let Rey escape like this. He wanted her to be free, but not if their last words were going to be an argument. Ren at least wanted to say goodbye. He didn't know why, something had happened, and one sentence remained in his head the whole time he ran to the Launch Bay, something her had said to the girl only earlier today.

"I'm not going to block you from who you love."

Maybe he wasn't blocking Rey from who he loved. Maybe she was exactly where she desired to be; right next to who she loved.

Rey wasn't making a run for. Neither was she pulling a one-person heist. She did things that probably were not the best decided, but the girl wasn't that stupid.

She was just walking into eh huge launching bay when she heard a shout from behind her.

"Rey!"

She turned around and was met with an extremely angry looking Kylo Ren, lightsaber drawn and mask thrown down. He walked towards Rey and met her in the middle of the room.

"Ben!" said Rey, delighted that she had found him.

"Don't call me that!" Kylo snapped.

"What?" Rey was surprised, he had not told her anything like that for weeks now.

"You're escaping. Running from your destiny. Rey, join me. We can put an end to all of this.

"I'm not escaping. I told you, I'm not leaving this ship until you are back where you belong" said Rey.

"Then why are you here?" the man said, coming closer to they were only a few metres away from each other.

"This is basically the only room on this ship that I know, I knew you would find me here. This is actually quite a terrifying ship." Explained Rey.

"Why? Did someone hurt you? what happened?" said Kylo.

Rey was taken back, did Kylo just have a mini panic or something?

"No one hurt me, if anyone tries to they wouldn't survive it" laughed Rey.

"You don't know do you?" asked Kylo.

"Know what?"

"The Resistance is here."

"Why?"

"My guess is someone wants to be rescued" said Kylo.

"Of course, I want to be rescued, but not until I rescue you" said Rey.

"Just go, Rey. I don't know what you'd be going back to, you have a family to be with, and your friends are not the same!" said Kylo. "Join me Rey."

"Don't do this Ben. Don't go this way." Pleaded Rey.

Kylo said nothing.

"Please Ben!"

"Your parents were nothing, you are nothing." Spoke Ren. "But not to me."

"I have family, and they are alive, and they are waiting for me!"

"No Rey. You're still holding on! Let go!" shouted Kylo. "If you only knew. You only have one left."

"One what!"

"One relative."

"What" breathed Rey. He knew. "Who!"

"Rey-"

"Who!"

"Palpatine. The Emperor. Master of Vader. Wielder of evil. He… he's your Grandfather Rey." Kylo spoke.

Rey froze and began to shake her head.

"No. No you are a murder and a liar!" she shouted.

"No Rey. I'm not." Said Kylo.

The man walked closer to Rey until he was less than a meter away.

"Rey" he whispered.

Rey looked up, utter shock and anger swirled on her eyes. She could not stop her eyes colliding with his.

"I'll help you, Rey."

They were only a few centimetres away from each other now. Kylo moved his hand and slipped it between Rey's fingers. Rey looked up into his eyes and went closer until their noses were touching. Both their hearts were racing.

"Join me Rey." Said Kylo, his voice was deep and almost vibrated in his throat.

"Ben-"

All of a sudden, an explosion came from somewhere outside of the huge launching bay doors. It landed just outside of the Death Star's panels. Kylo and Rey fell to the ground from the power of the blast. Another explosion came. The Rebellion fleet were visible now. Gun shots came from Stormtroopers and the screams of First Order fighter crafts echoed as they charged into battle.

Rey and Kylo stood up and ran from the Launch Bay, their hands still grasping onto the others.
