Kanto Part 9
As the three of them are outside, they are now on the Route 11. There they see a Drowzee walking around. Suddenly, it glows yellow and then Ash, Pikachu and Misty are now asleep. Alice rushes towards the two and says, "Ash, Pikachu, Misty, are you okay?"
But as she shakes them, they aren't awake. Alice turns to the Drowzee and asks, "Why did you do that?"
But Drowzee is just tilting its head and Alice doesn't know what it means, she quickly opens her Pokedex and says, "I see, so you are hungry and you want to eat the dreams as food, right?"
But then Drowzee feels the pain as it is lying on the ground. Alice says, "And you must have eaten a bad dream. I don't know whose dream is a bad dream, but don't worry." She pets the Pokemon, causing him to look at her.
"You are an interesting Pokemon, do you want to join my team?" The Pokemon just gives a battle stance and Alice says, "So you want me to battle you first."
She sends out Bellsprout and battle. With the help of Wrap, it traps the Pokemon, but after a Confuse Ray hits, Bellsprout is confused and it keeps hurting itself. But in the end, it snaps out of confusion and then uses the Vine Whip to lower its health, giving Alice the chance to throw a Pokeball. In the end, Hypno is captured, and Bellsprout also evolves into a Weepinbell.
Kanto Dex Entry No.70 Weepinbell: The Fly Catcher Pokemon: Grass and Poison Type. Evolved from Bellsprout at LV:21. It spits out PoisonPowder to immobilize the enemy and then finishes it with a spray of Acid.
Kanto Dex Entry No.96 Drowzee: The Hypnosis Pokemon: Psychic Type. Puts enemies to sleep then eats their dreams. Occasionally gets sick from eating bad dreams.
Ash, Pikachu and Misty finally woke up and Ash asks, "What happened? Why are we sleeping on the road?"
Alice says, "Don't worry, you were put into sleep by Drowzee's Hypnosis."
Misty says, "Well, this route has a lot of Drowzee after all. But where is the one that hypnotized us?"
"I caught it, and thanks to it my Bellsprout evolves." Alice says as she shows them, they are in awe at the sight of new evolution as they continue forward.
And with the training, Ash also evolves his Oddish, much to his delight.
Kanto Dex Entry No.44 Gloom: The Weed Pokemon: Grass and Poison Type. Evolved from Oddish at LV:21. The fluid that oozes from its mouth isn't drool. It is a nectar that is used to attract prey.
"Although it is a good Pokemon, but I don't like the smell of the Stench..." Alice says.
"Don't worry, we'll get used to it." Ash says as they continue forward on the road.
After they arrive at the entrance to the Diglett's Cave. "This is the Diglett's Cave! Diglett dug out this cave path all on their own! OK, see ya! Be sure to meet lots of Pokémon!"
After they bid farewell to Misty, they decide to head inside as they see a lot of Diglett popping out of the ground. "Wow, there sure are so many Diglett." Ash says.
"And some of them are Dugtrio." Alice says. "I want to capture one. Alright, Wartortle, I choose you."
But just as she tries to throw the ball, it doesn't work as Wartortle refuses to get out. Then the Dugtrio picks the Pokeball and return to Alice. "Thank you...but what just happened..."
Ash says, "It is because of Diglett and Dugtrio that we have a lot of land to use, so I guess that Pokemon refuse to attack them. Right?"
Pikachu nods in agreement and then Alice says, "I see...I really wanted a Dugtrio..."
Seeing how Alice is kind and determined, the Dugtrio offers to be a part of the group, much to Alice's happiness. Alice then captures it with a Pokeball and scans it.
Kanto Dex Entry No.50 Diglett: The Mole Pokemon: Ground Type. Lives about one yard underground where it feeds on plant roots. It sometimes appears above ground.
Kanto Dex Entry No.51 Dugtrio: The Mole Pokemon: Ground Type. Evolved from Diglett at LV:26. A team of Diglett triplets. It triggers huge earthquakes by burrowing 60 miles underground.
They are now out of the cave as they find themselves at Route 2. "Now we are at Route 2 again..." Ash says, "I guess it isn't that bad..."
"Yeah, we just need to go to the other path from the Cerulean City." Alice says.
Then they decide to train their Pokemon some more, and by the river, Ash is training with Magikarp with the Splash and Tackle, until it evolves into a Gyarados.
"A Gyarados...that is so awesome." Ash says, but Alice feels a little terrified of its face.
Kanto Dex Entry No.130 Gyarados: The Atrocious Pokemon: Water and Flying Type. Evolved from Magikarp at LV:20. Rarely seen in the wild. Huge and vicious, it is capable of destroying entire cities in a rage.
"He won't be destroying a city, right? Ash?" Alice asks.
"Of course, I trust this guy that he won't." Ash assures the Pokemon as it nuzzles at him, he also asks Alice to try it out, and Alice carefully does it and she lost all her doubts about the Pokemon.
And after the training, Ash's Sandshrew also evolves into a Sandslash as well. Ash asks, "I was wondering when you are going to evolve after all the gym battle thing."
Kanto Dex Entry No.28 Sandslash: The Mouse Pokemon: Ground Type. Evolved from Sandshrew at LV:22. Curls up into a spiny ball when threatened. It can roll while curled up to attack or escape.
"Well, now your hard work is paid off." Ash smiles and Sandslash gives him a nod. Then Alice suddenly bumps into a wall and she falls down. Ash asks, "Alice, are you okay?"
"I am fine, but what is this?" She touches it and says, "How come there is an invisible wall?"
"I think it is the work of that Pokemon." Ash says as they see a Mr. Mime making walls. Alice says, "If only it is possible to capture that Pokemon..."
"Alice, you can try throw behind us." Ash says, much to her confusion. "You mean, throw behind you? Why?"
"Just try it." Ash says with a smile. Alice does it and then the ball suddenly hits the wall and then it reflects with different direction. In the end, it bounces to Mr. Mime and then captures it.
"How did the ball do that?" Alice asks.
"Playing Pinball machine works after all." Ash says with a smile.
Sinnoh Dex Entry No.53 Mime Jr.: The Mime Pokemon: Psychic and Fairy Type. It habitually mimics foes. Once mimicked, the foe cannot take its eyes off this Pokémon.
Kanto Dex Entry No.122 Mr. Mime: The Barrier Pokemon: Psychic and Fairy Type. Evolved from Mime Jr. by learning Mimic. If interrupted while it is miming, it will slap around the offender with its broad hands.
And then they find an assistant of Professor Oak, there he asks them to show him their Pokemon, after that, they get a Hidden Machine known for Flash.
"Well, we have Cut and Flash. I wonder how many Hidden Machines are there..." Alice says.
"We'll know once we continue our journey I assume." Ash says.
After tracking back to Cerulean City, they head to Route 9 which is in the west of the city. They didn't do anything special except for training, and Paras evolves into Parasect, much to the group's delight.
Kanto Dex Entry No.47 Parasect: The Mushroom Pokemon: Bug and Grass Type. Evolved from Paras at LV:24. A host-parasite pair in which the parasite mushroom has taken over the host bug. Prefers damp places.
"The Dex Entry is very terrifying..." Alice mutters. "But come to think of it, its spores can be used as medicine and it is very good to use." Ash says.
They finally arrive at Route 10, Ash says, "It seems like we are about to reach the Rock Tunnel."
"Yeah." Alice says, "That is why we get the HM for Flash, right?"
Just as they are in the route, Alice notices a giant Pokeball and she asks, "Ash? Is it just me, or I did see a giant Pokeball..."
Ash says, "Well, I saw it too, but who would have made this Pokeball and what is it going to do?"
As they get closer, they are surprised to see that the Pokeball has eyes and it uses Shock Wave on them, but they manage to dodge and Ash says, "I remember that Professor Oak told us that there is a Pokeball like Pokemon known as Voltorb."
"And that must be the Pokemon. Since I don't have an Electric Type, I want to capture it." Alice says as she sends out Dugtrio to battle Dugtrio uses the move Earthquake to defeat it and Alice captures the Pokemon.
Kanto Dex Entry No.100 Voltorb: The Ball Pokemon: Electric Type. Usually found in power plants. Easily mistaken for a Poké Ball, they have zapped many people.
"Well the Kanto Power Plant is close by, it is just that it is blocked by the wall there..." Ash says as they look forward. "But we found a Pokemon Center, that's a good thing." Alice says.
But just as they are about to get in, they are stopped by Team Rocket Grunts. "You are the kids that get in our way all the time!"
"It is because of you two that Team Rocket's reputation was totally smashed!"
"We'll never be able to face the boss at this rate!"
"Which means we'll have to take our revenge on you!"
"Damn it...this is not good for us..." Alice mutters.
"What are we going to do?" Ash says.
"Hold it!" Just then, they hear a voice and they see a woman standing on top of a Lapras. "Ganging up on two children...I absolutely can't forgive that."
"No way...it's Lorelei the Ice Type Elite four member..." Alice says in awe at the sight of the person.
"Who're you, lady? We'll gang up and take you on, too!" The rocket member says.
"Lapras, give them a Blizzard attack." Lapras yells as all their Pokemon are fainted with one move. Ash says, "Wow...so this is the power of the Elite 4..."
"Even the four of us rushing you wasn't enough..." The female rocket member says.
"Just with that Lapras is incredibly powerful..." the other rocket member says.
"Who are you?" The third one asks.
"I am Lorelei of the Pokemon League's Elite Four. Shall I freeze you all solid, too?" Lorelei asks.
"E-Elite Four?! We surrender!" Then the Rocket grunts run away.
Lorelei turns to the two of them and she asks, "Are you two okay?"
"We are fine. Thank you for helping us." Alice says.
After introducing to her, Lorelei says, "I see. So you're collecting Gym Badges. I look forward to when you come to challenge the Pokemon League. Until then, see ya."
After Lorelei rides off with her Lapras, Alice says, "I can't believe we are saved by the Elite 4 member... It is so amazing."
"I know." Ash says. "I can't wait to tell my mom about this."
Now here is another chapter, and this time they have captured a lot of new Pokemon. Well mostly Alice, since I already come up with what Pokemon Ash and Alice want. I hope you like it and the next chapter will be Rock Tunnel.
