Part 9
The day before Thanksgiving Barry sat in the passenger seat of Caitlin's car. He was going home with her to meet her family. He had taken her a few days before to meet his dad. Henry Allen had fallen in love with her that day. Barry was nervous about meeting her family. Caitlin glanced at him after pulling into the long driveway.
"Barry relax mom and Thea are going to love you."
"What about your stepfather and Oliver?"
"They won't kill you. Robert just wants me to be happy. Oliver once you get past his gruffness is the same way as his dad. Oh by the way if Oliver calls me by a nickname other then Cait or Caity, and you repeat it to anyone. Especially Cisco I will rip your tongue out of your nose."
"So it is bad?"
"Kind of. I mean Ronnie knows it and knows not to call me that in front of others."
"Still can't believe that the two of you don't tell anyone that you are related to the Queens."
"Barry I am not ashamed of my family. In fact I am proud of the fact that Robert considers me to be his daughter as much as Thea is and Oliver is his son. He set up a trust fund for me. Other than to get my apartment I haven't touched it. This is the car he bought me when I graduated from high school."
"It's a nice car. Not as fancy as I would think someone in the Queen family would have."
"I like this car! So it's not a BMW or Mercedes. It is a Mustang."
"A Mustang Shelby GT500."
"Show off."
Caitlin parked in front of the mansion and they both got out of the car. Barry noticed that she left the car key in the car.
"One of the men that work for the family will move it to the garage and bring our bags up to my room." Said Caitlin
"You're parents don't have a problem with me staying in your room?" asked Barry
"No. When I told mom we were coming she asked if you would need your own room. I told her that you would stay with me. Face it Barry we are practically living together anyway."
Caitlin opened the door and was greeted by nearly being tackled by her four year old niece.
"Auntie Cait!" said Amanda wrapping her arms around Caitlin's legs.
"Hi Mandy. I missed you." Said Caitlin
"Don't go away no more! Daddy is home. You need to come home too."
Caitlin knelt down and hugged the little girl.
"Mandy, I wish I could. But I work in Central City."
Laurel and Oliver walked out into the hall and smiled. Barry watched Caitlin with the little girl. It brought a smile to his face. He always had a feeling that she would be good with kids. Now he knew it.
"Hi I'm Laurel Lance. This little sweetheart that is holding your girlfriend's attention is Amanda. My daughter." Said Laurel
"Oliver Queen, you break Caitlin's heart and I break you are we clear?" said Oliver
"Ollie be nice." Said Caitlin standing up.
"Snowy, you are my little sister. It is my job to look out for you." Said Oliver
"Don't call me that." Grumbled Caitlin
"I'm Barry Allen by the way." Said Barry
"Mandy, this is my boyfriend Barry." Said Caitlin
"Hi Barry. You going to marry Auntie Cait? Cause if you do I can be a flower girl." Said Amanda
"Uh maybe. But I think you would make a very cute flower girl." Said Barry
"I like him Auntie Cait." Said Amanda
"I do too sweetie."
"So how did you two meet?" asked Laurel
Barry exchanged a smile with Caitlin.
"We were both at Jitters, I was heading in as Cait was leaving. I kinda bumped into her and spilled her latte all over her." Said Barry
"He ruined a new blouse." Said Caitlin
"One you bought at that discount store you love so much no doubt." Said Oliver
"No actually it was one that Thea gave me before I moved to Central City. It was from that high end store she is always shopping at." Said Caitlin
"You never told me that!" said Barry
"You already felt bad enough for ruining my blouse. I didn't want to rub it in that you couldn't afford to actually replace it. Besides I did think you were cute." Said Caitlin
Oliver just kind of glared at the two of them. Laurel seeing the look elbowed him in the stomach. He grunted but said nothing.
"So how did Barry ask you out the first time?" asked Laurel
"Well in my haste to leave the coffee shop to get to work I dropped my drivers license. Barry took it with him to work and was able to find out that I worked at STAR Labs. He called me there asking to meet me to return it. I agreed to meet him at the police station figuring that being surrounded by a bunch of cops was a safe way to go. He asked to take me to dinner to make up for spilling my coffee. I agreed. He was such a gentleman that I agreed to go out with him again. The next thing I know we are dating. It's been about a year now." Said Caitlin
"I am still surprised that Caitlin agreed to go out with me." Said Barry
Barry then leaned over and gave Caitlin a soft kiss. Oliver glared at Barry.
"Barry maybe you should lay off the PDAs in front of Oliver." Said Caitlin
"Sure."
Carla, Robert and Thea came in then. Caitlin gave each of them a hug.
"He is cute Cait." Said Thea
"Yeah he is."
"I am glad to see you so happy."
"Thanks. You still doing ok?"
"Yeah been going to meetings a couple times a week."
"Good. I don't want to lose you. I admit I thought you were a pest when our parents first got married. But I love you. Thea you are my sister."
"Love you too Cait."
Caitlin smiled. Both looked over to see Robert and Carla talking to Barry.
"Maybe you should rescue your boyfriend from the wolves." said Thea
Caitlin sighed. Thea was right. Between her mom, Robert and Oliver, Barry was in the wolves den.
"Mom, Robert I am sure that Barry would be willing to answer any of your questions. But he and I had a long drive from Central City. We could use some time to freshen up before dinner." Said Caitlin
"Of course honey. Go a head and take Barry upstairs. We will see you at dinner." Said Robert
Caitlin grabbed Barry's hand and pulled him upstairs. She led him right to her bedroom. Barry's eyes went wide when he saw the spacious room. There was a Queen size oak four post bed, matching side tables and dresser. A desk in one corner that was as organized the one he has seen in Caitlin's apartment. There was a bay window with a window seat. There were two doors. One he figured led to her in suite bathroom and the other was a closet. On the bed was a blue comforter. One wall was lined with a bookshelf filled with books. At the end of the bed was a wooden chest.
"Wow this is really nice." Said Barry
"Yeah. The chest has some of my most special keepsakes."
Barry nodded. He then walked around the room. On the desk he found a framed picture of Caitlin who looked about six with a man he assumed was her father.
"Robert found that picture in a photo album of my mom's. He had it framed and gave it to me on the day he married my mom. He told me he didn't want me to ever forget my dad. But he hoped that one day I would come to love him as much as he loved me and my mom. You know something. I do. If I ever get married I am going to ask him to give me away."
Barry nodded.
"So is there a dress code for dinner?"
"Not really. But it is preferred no t-shirts. So a polo or button down shirt would be best."
"I can handle that."
"Good."
Caitlin kissed him then set him to take a shower.
First thank you for the reviews. Second, please do not request a particular ship unless I ask for your opinion. A couple of you have asked for Kara to end up with Lena. I am sorry but that is not going to happen in any story I write. I do not ship them or see them as anything but friends. I have not even decicided if Lena is going to appear or not in this. I have an idea who I might pair Kara with. But I am not going to say who.
