Isiah: What up! Isiah and Tom here!
Tom: What's up!
Isiah: And welcome back to Avalor's Nightmare Aftermath. Last time, Elena, Shuriki, and their friends arrived at the Wizard Islands in the search for the Magic Resistance. They decided to increase their chances of finding them faster by splitting up.
Tom: While Mateo and Fiero were searching one area, Mateo's spirit demon Darkness appeared before them and showed them images of the death of his grandfather Alacazar before showing them another image of his spirit and magic being stolen by Fiero.
Isiah: Knowing that Darkness was playing with Mateo's mind, can Fiero prove his innocence without causing severe injury or death? Let's get into today's chapter and find out.
A Battle for Innocence
Just when Fiero was going to cast a spell on Mateo, the young wizard shot a projectile spell at him, shooting him backwards and landing on his back. Fiero saw Mateo coming at him quickly and shot a spell capturing Mateo dead in his tracks.
After being certain that Mateo was caught in his tracks, Fiero got up and said, "Mateo, you don't need to do this."
"Oh yeah? And why is that," Mateo asked with no patience in him.
"Because I didn't do anything to your grandfather after his death," Fiero said with honesty. Mateo showed a sign that he was kinda believing him and Darkness caught sight of it. He went behind Mateo and said, "Don't listen to him. He's your grandfather's mortal enemy. Think about all the times you guys fought one another."
Fiero had heard enough of Darkness's words and shot a spell that turned the spirit demon to stone. He then freed Mateo from his capture and raised his tamborita in case the young wizard still wanted to fight. "You okay now?"
"Yeah...just about," Mateo said getting up. The two then looked at Darkness who was just turned to stone and Mateo shot a spell that made the stone explode on impact, killing Darkness in the process. Making sure that the spirit demon was destroyed, both Mateo and Fiero walked off in another direction in continuation of their search for the Wizard Resistance.
Another chilling Discovery
Not so long after Darkness's death, behind Mateo and Fiero was a random demon in armor. He saw how they killed Darkness and went up to them saying, "You managed to kill Darkness. Impressive."
Mateo and Fiero turned around to see the demon and Mateo said, "Yeah, we killed him. What's it to you buddy?"
"I always knew you were worthy of the name Royal Wizard," the demon said. "I could use such powerful magic like yours in my quest for dominance."
"Quest for dominance? Who are you, and what the hell are you talking about," Mateo asked.
"Why, mijito. You should know who I am of course," the demon took off his helmet revealing himself. Mateo and Fiero looked at who it was in shock as they couldn't believe who they were looking at nor could they believe the possibilities that could've caused it.
It was a demonized version of Mateo's grandfather Alacazar.
"Abuelo," Mateo said in complete shock.
"Yes, Mateo, it is I. Nightmare has restored my presence," Alacazar said.
"I did not see this in the past events," Fiero said.
"Your presence? Abuelo, you're a flawed copy of yourself," Mateo said.
Alacazar let out a chuckle as he spoke. "No, mijito. I have no flaws. Nightmare has perfected me."
"For what end," Mateo asked loudly. "To serve Nightmare and her sinless world?"
"Not exactly," Alacazar corrected him. "You see, Nightmare and Darkness used both their magic to make me their servant, but they made one fatal mistake in doing so. They used their power for dominance to making sure I serve them. And now that it's complete, I am secretly on my own quest for create my own sinless world. One where you and I can live the rest of our lives together."
The elderly wizard's words caught his grandson off guard and thought about what he just said. "Do you remember, Mateo? Do you remember what happened to me when I was attacked by Zopilote," he asked.
After thinking about it for a moment, Mateo said, "Nothing would make me more happier than to live the rest of my life with you." He then raised his tamboirta and continued speaking, "But doing what Nightmare's planning on doing is not the way. You'll cause destruction to Avalor and possibly the EverRealm as well. And I don't know about you, but demons are NOT part of my family!"
Alacazar let out another chuckle and said, "Oh, mijito, we-"
"We share blood! I am not your mijito," Mateo cut off the spirit demon version of his grandfather, shocked at himself for saying such a thing to him. Alacazar looked at Mateo in anger and said, "Then I will not regret your defeat." The elderly wizard then shot a wave of magic at the pair throwing them backwards.
"It a shame that it has to end like this," Alacazar said as he revealed a bladed tamborita and aimed it at Mateo's throat. "But don't worry. In my sinless world, I will reign supreme as one of the most powerful wizards in Avalor. And you, if you don't want to be reunited with your abuelo, then I will kill you and make you one of my demonized servants."
"No! You can't do that," Mateo barely able to say anything out loud due to the bladed tamborita to his throat.
"Oh, yes I can mijito. I'll make the cut quick and fast. Just close your eyes and think of the future that awaits you," Alacazar raised his bladed tamborita and just when he was going to strike Mateo, a projectile spell shot the elderly wizard in the chest throwing him backwards. Both Mateo and Fiero looked up to see Gabe, Ixlan, Naomi, Victor, and Carla standing above them.
Victor and Carla went over to the two wizards, and helped them get up. Both thanked them for the save just in time for Alacazar to get back up. "Miserable wrecks! You will pay for your interference," he said.
"Look. I don't know about you guys, but this is not the Alacazar I knew when I was younger," Victor said.
"You know my grandfather, Victor," Mateo asked.
"Of course I do. Wait a minute! Alacazar's your grandfather," Victor asked in shock. "How the hell did he get demonized?"
"I don't know," Mateo turned back to his demonized grandfather. "But I'm not waiting to find out." Fiero knew what Mateo was planning on doing next and he and Victor joined him as Mateo shot his electric spell at Alacazar. It soon turned out to have little to no effect on him and Fiero, Victor, and Carla joined him in using the electric spell to turn Alacazar back to normal.
The spell started to have more effect on the elderly wizard as he began crying out his screams as he started turning back to normal. Just when things were going smoothly for them, his demonized form started to come back to view. Ixlan started to see this and she and Gabe went up to the other wizards.
"Hope your grandfather doesn't mind," Ixlan said preparing her lightning powers. Mateo smiled at this and looked at his grandfather before shooting his electric spell at his grandfather with everyone else. The spells that were shot had more effect on Alacazar and eventually everyone had to stop casting the spell at him so Mateo could see if the spells worked on him.
"Abuelo? Abuelo," Mateo called out silently to his grandfather. After a brief moment, he heard breathing coming from him and eventually heard him respond with, "Yes, Mateo?"
Mateo's mind was racing like crazy. If he actually revived his grandfather, it would've been a true miracle for him. "How do you feel," he asked.
Alacazar took a moment to take in where he was at before answering his grandson. "I remember," he paused for a moment. "The things I have done for Nightmare. She cannot be allowed to create her sinless world."
"Don't worry. It won't happen. I can assure it. We all can. With your help of course," Mateo said.
"I wish I could help you, but I'm afraid I've become weaker since the last time we've met mijito," Alacazar said. "If only there was a way to rejuvenate my magic."
Just when Mateo was going to say something, a man dressed in a warlock outfit approached them and said, "Maybe there is a way."
"Who are you," Mateo asked.
"I'm a defender of these Wizard Islands. The name's Fox," the warlock revealed his name. "I know of a place where your grandfather can revive his magic. Just follow me."
Mateo and the others took a moment to think about the offer Fox had handed them and decided to take it. Fox magically picked up Alacazar and soon began carrying him to their destination.
To be continued...
Isiah: Sweet! Mateo and the others revived Alacazar from the dead!
