Fanfiction – Alvin and the chipmunks- ''How long can I last"

Chapter 9 – "The cleaning season has begun "

The chipettes stood outside the door of the Seville house.

- "Um... I have a bad feeling about this"- Jeanette said with fright in her eyes

- "Brittany, do you even know what they called us for?"- Eleonore asked her sister. Brittany just shrugged her shoulders and put her hand on the door handle.

- "I don't know, but I know I'll get a new purse for it, so I don't care what the job is "- Brittany said with determination in her voice. Then she pulled the handle and opened the door. A pile of popcorn fell out from behind the door and the girls saw the lobby of the Seville house all filled with popcorn.

- "What the !" - Brittany said in disbelief.

- "Well, finally! How long can we wait for you guys!" - Alvin exclaimed waving his brush in their direction

- "What on earth happened here?"- Jeanette asked confused.

- "Um... We kind of used Simon's invention without permission and it kind of got out of hand!" - Theodore said appearing from behind his brother.

- "WHAAAT!"- The three chipettes shouted in unison.

- "Hey! Don't react like that! We did worse things before" – Alvin said brushing popcorn of the floor. The chipettes stood stunned through what they heard, but after a few moments they have come to the conclusion that Alvin was surprisingly right.

- "So, we just need to clean up all that mess, right?"- Jeanette asked uncertainly.

- "Yeah, Simon said we have to get all this popcorn in one place, so that he could get rid of it with his machine"- Theodore explained innocently.

- "And where is Simon?" – Eleonore curiously asked.

- "Oh…"- Alvin stopped cleaning and started nervously scratching his head – "You see… The machine that caused this all mess kinda… exploded… so Simon is in his laboratory right now and he is trying to fix it… But I don't recommend going to him now, he's already angry enough… because of us"

- "Yeah, so we should just start cleaning and give him some time to cool his head"- Theodore added sadly. The chipettes looked at chipmunks and then at each other. For them it seemed like there was some big fight between the brothers, but they decided to left them alone… for now…

- "Okay! Let's start this cleaning! New purse I'm Coming!" – Brittany said determined and then she went to get a broom. The girls followed their sister's example and also went to take stuff to clean up popcorn. After a few minutes everyone started cleaning up. Alvin and Brittany started cleaning from the kitchen, while Theodor and Eleonora started from the living room. For Jeanette, it was left to clean up at the entrance and stairs.

Everyone was caught up in the whirlwind of work. They were picking up all the popcorn that they were able to gather and then they slowly put it in a designated place in the courtyard.

For the first hour everything was calm. But then Alvin and Brittany started arguing. They couldn't stand each other for that long. Brittany started whining that Alvin was getting on her side, and how he should have stayed on his side. Alvin, on the other hand, couldn't stand the fact that his side had more popcorn than Brittany's side.

They argued for another 20 minutes until they finally went to Theodore and Eleonore to ask them which one of them was right, but when they entered the living room, they saw that the two had much more cleaned up space than they did.

When Eleonore saw them, she asked what they were doing here and why the kitchen still looked like it hadn't even been touched. After this statement Brittany desire to compete was awakened. She pulled Alvin to her side and started to convince him to work together because she didn't want to lose to Eleonore. she didn't have to convince Alvin for too long because she knew that as soon as she mentioned that he could lose to someone his pride would make him agree to her wishes. And she wasn't wrong this time.

After a few moments the chipmunk agreed to her game plan and they went into the kitchen together and started cleaning like crazy just to avoid losing to the other three cleaners.

Of course, there were little quarrels between them but they were quickly resolved.

After 3 hours most of the popcorn had been taken out into the yard. Jeanette was the first to finish her part of the cleanup so she wandered into the living room and saw Alvin hiding behind the couch in a suit.

Suddenly, detective music was heard in the room and from behind the couch appeared Alvin in a black suit

- "Well, let's get this game started "- Alvin said, putting his sunglasses on. Theodore watched his brother standing in a peculiar pose for a few moments. Then Alvin suddenly moved forward startling his brother.

- "Theodor listen to me carefully now "- Alvin said in a lowered voice looking straight into his brother's eyes - "we have an important mission to perform in which you are our most important element"

- "Really?" - Theodore asked with sparkling eyes.

- "Yeah, yeah… whatever "-Alvin said rolling his eyes out – "you have to watch our house and the backyard. Theodore you must distract anyone who would want to come in here until Simon fix up his machine" - Alvin finished talking and moved back from his brother. Theodore nodded his head in satisfaction, but at the same time Eleonore realised one thing.

- "Alvin and what you are going to do during this time" – Eleonore asked harshly. Alvin laughed nervously and adjusted his glasses.

- "I, my dear Eleonore, will take on the toughest job of all and supervise all of your actions "- Alvin said nervously gazing at the Eleonore's face, on which he saw disbelief. – "Believe me, this is my responsibility whether or not this mission will succeed "- Alvin declared while waving his hands dramatically – "you don't even know how much I wish I could give this burden to someone else, but I don't want my precious brothers and yours sisters to have to experience such responsibility as I have to"- Alvin directed his speech to his brother -" Please understand Theodore I am doing this for your sake "- Alvin said with his hand on the Theodore's shoulder and with a sacrificial look in his eyes.

- "Oh, oh Alvin I had no idea about that" - Theodore said feeling kinda bad for disbelieving in his brother words.

- "Yeah, for his sake" – Eleonore said in sarcastic tone.

Alvin ignored her words and reached for his walkie-talkie's and gave one to Theodore.

He was about to leave the living room when he suddenly heard Brittany's voice. Alvin stopped his escape attempt and stood still, as if, even if he moved a mere millimetre, he would be attacked by a wild beast.

- "What do you think you're doing leaving me alone to clean"- Brittany said angrily. Before Alvin had a chance to explain himself, the chipette grabbed his tie and started dragging him towards the kitchen.

Jeanette watched the whole scene go by. She laughed lightly at the show she had just seen. Then he started thinking about what she could start doing now. She started looking around until her gaze fell on the door leading to the cellar. 'All this time I haven't seen Simon come out of the lab' she thought sadly. After a few moments, she decided to go and help Simon with his project.

Jeanette knocked lightly on the ajar laboratory door. After which she went inside. Various mechanical parts were scattered around the room.

Simon was sitting at his desk staring deeply into the design of his device. He hadn't even noticed that someone had come in. Seeing that Simon hadn't heard her, Jeanette grunted slightly to get his attention, which was successful. Simon distracted himself from his work and looked in her direction.

- "Hi Jeanette, is something wrong?"- Simon asked tiredly. He had already been sitting for a solid 3 hours repairing the machine, so Jeanette wasn't surprised that it must have tired him out.

- "Um... I wanted to ask if you perhaps needed some help?"-Jeanette asked shyly. Simon wanted to say 'no' in an instant, he was already quite tired and nervous with the whole situation, but he looked at the still unassembled parts of his device and realised how much more work he had to do.

Besides, help from someone as smart as him wouldn't hurt.

- "Actually, I'd love to"- Simon smiled slightly. Then he took out from one of his desk drawers another blueprint – ''Could you take a look at this and try to put it together ''- Simon said handing her the blueprint for powering the machine. Jeanette looked at it and analysed it.

- ''Of course, I can do that''- Jeanette said with a wide smile then took one of the standing chairs in the room and moved it over to the desk. Simon and Jeanette sat side by side in silence working.

After an hour all the popcorn in the house was moved to the garden. A great white mountain of the salty treat lay in their backyard. It could be seen from the kitchen and patio windows.

After everything was cleaned up Brittany and Eleonore sat down on the couch and started watching TV. Alvin, on the other hand, went upstairs looking in the mirror and asking how a handsome man like him could even exist. Meanwhile, Theodore stood in the backyard patrolling to see if anyone wanted to enter their house.

The only people who were still working were Simon and Jeanette, who had yet to finish building the machine.

Everything was peaceful until Alvin started acting like a super agent.

- "Agent Green Puma. Here Agent Alv007 please report" - Alvin said to the shortwave.

- "Alvin who is a green Puma"-Theodor asked confused. Alvin put his hand on his face.

- "It is you, Theodore!" - Alvin said annoyed.

- "O-oOh but I don't want to be a green Puma... I prefer to be an agent green teddy beddie "- Theodor said after a moment of consideration.

- "You can't just change your undercover name! "-Alvin sighed.

- "but why? "-Theodore asked innocently.

- "B-bbecause...Agh! never mind "- Alvin said turning around - "Anyway, do you see the enemy coming into view?"

- "Who? "- Theodore said embarrassed.

- "DAAVVVVVVVVEEEEEE! or some other people"-Alvin shouted in the walkie-talkie. When Theodore heard Alvin screaming, he dropped his walkie-talkie on the ground. But he quickly recovered from a shock and picked it up and said - "I don't see Dave anywhere. Simon said that he would be here in an hour. And I don't really see anyone here. The streets are completely empty "– after these words Theodore heard that Dave was parking in the driveway.

- "Or I was wrong...Alvin! Alvin! Dave has arrived, I repeat, DAVE HAS ARRIVED! "- Theodore shouted in panic.

- "What!" - Alvin screamed and then he ran towards Simon's laboratory. He quickly opened the basement door and went down the stairs shouting - "Simon you've finished this thing?!"

- "Not Alvin. I need some more time"- Simon said nervous.

- "Simon. We don't have time anymore! Dave is already here! "- Alvin said in a panic walking closer to his brother

- "WHAT! B.b..But he shouldn't come back yet. He said he'll be back in five hours. It's only been four!" -Simon said shocked while looking at his panicking brother.

- "I know! But he is here!"- Alvin responded.

- "Um guys… So, what are we going to do?" – Jeanette asked 2 chipmunks with fright in her eyes.

So, at this point we ended chapter 9! Wohooo!

In the next chapter we will see what chipmunks and the chipettes come up with to rescue their situation

And I want to tell you that after we will be done with this whole popcorn situation, we will come back to school arc… Yes! Derek will be back! Buhahaha! And maybe someone will see what he is doing with Simon or maybe not :D I'm still thinking when I'd put that moment…

Oh! And be assured that this series will have at least 15 chapters…. Or more! So, stay with me!
