Placing the lid back on her Ruby red lipstick she surveyed the result in the mirror. The lipstick matched perfectly the colour of her figure-hugging silk dress with mesh shoulders that fell to just above the knee. She also wore a pair of black ankle boots with a small heel. Her hazel eyes were beautifully accentuated by a small amount of eyeliner and the jet-black mascara on her fluttering lashes. Happy with the result, she picked up her phone off the hotel room dressing table to check the time. 6:57 pm. Three minutes to spare. Jaden had told her to meet him in the foyer at 7 pm for the final evening of their week together.
Thinking back over the week, she'd enjoyed every minute of it. It was hard not to when Jaden was smiling, it was infectious. Each night, she'd spent the night cuddled up to him, not wanting to let him go. The day at Kaiba Land had been her favourite, especially spending the night at his. His parents had gone out of town for a few days to visit Jaden's grandparents, so she'd not met them yet. The next day he'd taken her to the aquarium. Fishing at Duel Academy had taught him a few things about fish.
On another day, they'd wandered around Domino Museum. It took a lot of persuasion to get Jaden to move on from the Egyptian area. She loved how passionate he was about it all, even if he had bragged about the Abidos the Third's plaque being wrong. That had made her giggle.
Earlier today, they'd wandered around the city's shops, browsing. Obviously, they couldn't pass Solomon Muto's card shop without Jaden wanting to go in. He'd spent ages looking at the cards, giving her enough time to buy him a birthday present without him noticing. Jaden had shocked her by wanting to go into a jewellery store. To her surprise, he'd bought her a necklace with a Blue-Eyes White Dragon pendant, with encrusted Tanzanite eyes. She'd immediately put it on. Seeing it in the mirror, she touched it with her left hand, feeling happiness wash over her as she thought of him.
She picked up her handbag and placed her phone and room key inside, before walking from the room.

Entering the foyer, she spotted Jaden stood waiting for her. He wore a white shirt open at the collar that was tucked in a pair of slim black suit trousers. His face lit up as soon as he saw her.
"Lex... You look great," he said as she approached him, causing her to blush the colour of her dress.
Reaching his side, she slid her hand between his arm and torso, gripping his arm at the elbow. Jaden looked at her confused before it twigged and he led her out into the cool evening air. The sunset providing a red hue to the streets.

Jaden slowed as they reached their destination. A fancy restaurant that oozed class. It was one of those places you'd expect to find film stars, duelling pros and other celebrities. The entrance was stylised as a large marble arch with gold edges. A waiter stood outside checking people in. Jaden led Alexis to the queue, ensuring she didn't fall over in her heels.
"Jay, how did you get seats here?" She asked.
"I'll tell you later," he replied teasingly.
Before she could quiz him, the couple in front headed into the restaurant, leaving them at the front of the queue.
"Do you have a reservation?" The waiter asked.
"Yeah, Yuki," Jaden replied.
"Follow me," the waiter beckoned, before leading them into the restaurant.
As they entered, Alexis gasped quietly as she took in the interior design. The walls were divided into sections by columns of the same design as the entrance, while each wall section was covered in lavish golden wallpaper. Multiple glass chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Along the back wall of the room, a large fish tank filled with a vast array of trophic fish, the water deep blue. The floor was covered in extravagant carpet, with patterns weaving across the room. To their left, there was a bar serving a range of drinks, ran by another waiter.
Reaching their table near the fish tank, the waiter beckoned to sit down, before walking away. Releasing her hold on Jaden's arm, Alexis sat down, before Jaden took the other seat. Before she could say anything, a waitress appeared at their table, handing them both menus before walking away.
Jaden flicked the leather-bound menu open, scanning the pages. Alexis could see the confusion on his face as he read the words, causing her to smile. Looking up, he saw her smiling at him, causing another look of confusion.
"Don't worry big guy, I'll tell you later."
Jaden averted his gaze back to the menu. Alexis flicked through the menu, finally deciding on her choice.
As Jaden stared at the options, he heard Yubel chortle in his thoughts.
Whatcha laughing at Yubel? He thought.
You trying to work out what the food is. It's painful, the duel spirit replied.
Ignoring Yubel's mocking tone, Jaden continued to glance across the options.
"Jay… You struggling?"
"Yeah… Kinda Lex," he replied sheepishly.
"Order this," she said, pointing to something on the menu. "We had it one time at Duel Academy. I remember you enjoying it. All three servings of it."
She giggled at the memory.
Before he could think of a funny response, a group of people walked past their table led by a waiter. One of them wore a white sleeveless coat with large shoulder pads. This caught Jaden's eye, changing his focus of attention.
"Hey, Kaiba!"
The figure halted, before spinning on the spot to face Jaden. Seto Kaiba stared at Jaden intensely.
"Do I know you?" Seto asked, annoyance present in his tone.
"I guess so. My dad's your lawyer?" Jaden replied, unaware of Kaiba's annoyed look.
"Which one?"
"Yuki. You also sent my Neo Spacian cards to space?"
Kaiba gave Jaden a blank look.
"Oh and I saved Duel Academy from the Sacred Beasts, the Society of Light and Nightshroud."
"So, you're Jaden Yuki?" Kaiba replied condescendingly.
"The one and only," Jaden replied excitedly. Alexis was trying not to giggle at the whole situation.
"I'm busy now, arrange an appointment with Mokuba," Kabia responded, before striding after the group.
Jaden looked back at Alexis, who'd managed to stifle her giggles.
"Jay, your dad is Kaiba's lawyer? Is that how you got those VIP passes?" Alexis asked.
"Er… Yeah…" Jaden replied, his tone nervous.
"You'd not told me, and it had been puzzling me all week," she said. Hearing her response, Jaden felt relief wash over him, glad she wasn't mad.
A waitress appeared by the table and took their orders, before removing the menus from the table.
"Lex, do you want a drink?"
"A red wine please," she replied sweetly.
She watched him as he wandered to the bar. Even though she could see him, she missed his presence, it was addictive.
She didn't have to wait long before he returned with the two drinks. Setting her red wine down, he returned to his seat clutching his lime soda. A slice of lime was floating in the drink along with some ice.
She sipped her drink before looking up at him. He was looking at her, his eyes filled with emotion.
"Oi nosey," she teased.
He grinned at this, causing a wave of happiness to wash over her. An uncontrollable smile spread across her lips.
"You look beautiful when you smile like that."
She felt herself blushing, her cheeks glowing red.
"Only when I smile?" she replied, teasing him again.
Nervousness spread across his face, as he stuttered for the right words.
"What I mean is... I meant... You know..."
"I know," she replied still smiling.
A pair of waiters wandered over carrying plates of food, before placing them in front of both of them. Jaden's eyes lit up from the sight of food, causing Alexis to giggle. It was different to the sparkle he had when he was looking at her. She only saw that twinkle in his eye when she was the focus.
They both started to eat. Jaden was attempting to eat properly, rather than his usual eating habits. Though she didn't notice this at first, she loved it. He was really trying, just for her.
They chatted as they ate, with small doses of teasing mixed in. It seemed to calm Jaden's nervousness, helping him relax.
Placing her cutlery on her plate, Alexis refocused her attention on Jaden. She noticed he had some sauce on his nose, causing her to giggle before she wiped it off for him, using her napkin.
After disposing of her napkin, she extended her arm, laying it on the table with her palm facing the ceiling. Jaden looked at her confused, before realising why she'd done it. He placed his hand atop hers before they gripped each other's fingertips.
"Lex, I've got something I wanna show ya tonight."
"Here?" She asked, confused by his statement.
"No, you'll see."
As he spoke, he squeezed her hand before releasing his grip and rose from his seat. She watched him confused, as he walked over to the bar. Only when he returned did she realise what he'd done.
"Jay, you shouldn't have. You've already paid for a lot for me this week."
"I know Lex, but I wanted to," he replied.
Knowing he'd not let her change his mind, she left it. She rose from her seat, tripping over her feet. Before she could react, she felt two arms around her waist, catching her.
"Careful Lex," Jaden whispered teasingly in her ear.
Helping her back to her feet, Jaden released his grip of her waist. Alexis smiled at him, before kissing his cheek.
"So where are we going, big guy?" She asked as she looped her arm through his.
"Not gonna spoil the surprise."
With that, Jaden led her out of the restaurant and into the cool evening air.
