Chapter 8:

Magenta and I went to the east and then due south, as the path ahead was filled with a strange glowing liquid that I had issues with looking at. And Magenta was quick to confirm my fears.

"That water is actually slightly acidic. Getting it on you will make your skin burn and peel if you aren't a monster, so try to stay out of it," Magenta said, me nodding at that as we then moved a bit more and came across a monster that looked a lot like he was some kind of washing machine creature with a rubber duck inside of him. And he looked at me with confusion before backing up slightly.

"You have a strong soul... tweet. Much stronger than anyone I've met before... tweet. Who are you?... tweet?" the creature asked, the little rubber duck tweeting slightly every time he spoke.

"I'm Frisk. And you're right, my soul is very strong. But I don't mean any harm. I just want to help everyone... and I'm currently delivering a pizza to someone named Alphys," I said, the monster being surprised at that last bit.

"Alphys?... If you can, I'd like to request something... tweet," the monster said, me nodding at that. "My name is Woshua and I'm Aaron's best bud... tweet. His brother went to get checked by Alphys awhile ago... tweet. But after being revived from near-death, she hid him away with over 50 other monsters... tweet. I'd like it if you could find out what happened... tweet," the monster said, me nodding at that.

"Of course I will. I made a promise to someone to give everyone a happy ending, after all. And I feel that I should help you and Aaron out, mister Woshua," I said, him smirking at that.

"Thanks, miss human. I'm very grateful... tweet," Woshua said as he then walked off and Magenta smiled at me.

"Would it be rude to say that I would be hugging you right now if I had arms?" she asked, me smiling at that.

"No, it wouldn't. I'm a very open person when it comes to affection," I smiled, being completely honest. I may have been only 10 years old, but I was bisexual and proud of it.

"Well... how about a kiss?" Magenta blushed, me smirking at her and simply doing just that to her cheek, her blushing even pinker on her face, which made me smile. "You sneaky little kid," she smirked at me.

"Keep in mind, you're a kid too," I smiled at her.

"And I'm older than you by at least a hundred thousand years, keep in mind. All those resets and whatnot," she said.

"It just means that you're a very wise kid, right?" I smirked, her smiling at that.

"And cute, right?" she blushed, me giggling at that as Chara then thought something to me.

"Can you stop acting all mushy-gushy-goo-goo and keep walking ahead?" Chara said, me smirking at her doing that as we then moved ahead a bit and into an area that was full of regular water... and a few different yellow tentacles coming out of said water. And after moving along a bit, the owner of the tentacles popped out of the water with a very big and happy smile... as he was gigantic.

"Hi there, friends! I'm Onionsan!" he said, me smirking at his enthusiasm.

"Nice to meet you, Onionsan. I'm Frisk and this is Magenta," I said, him smiling at that.

"Nice to meet you, friends," he smirked as we then proceeded to walk a bit further and we continued to converse with the giant onion monster.

"It's very shallow here in Waterfall... I have to sit down all the time here... but it's okay! Undyne said that, when the last human is captured, we can go to the surface and I can live in the ocean!" Onionsan smirked, me nodding at that.

"Well, from what I've heard, the ocean is actually over 2/3rd's of the planet, so you'll have plenty of space to swim when that happens," I smiled as I then saw that we were reaching solid ground again.

"Looks like there's no more water here... see you later friends... in Waterfalllll..." Onionsan smiled as we waved goodbye and Magenta simply waved her head a bit.

"Is that how you wave?" I asked, her giggling.

"Yeah, it's how I wave. Can't do it very well without arms, right?" she smiled, me nodding at that. We then proceeded to the east and then saw something that made me a bit worried. There was a monster on the ground that looked like it was sobbing... it had a lower body that was colored purple and an upper body that was colored a teal green with blue hair.

"Excuse me, miss... what's wrong?" I asked, her sniffing in at that as she continued to sob in silence, me then wondering if Chara could give any insight.

"That girl is Shyren... and hate to break it to ya, but she's been like this ever since her sister was sent to Alphys for experiments along with the others mentioned," Chara said in my head, me frowning at that as I then approached Shyren as she then did something different. She made a small hum, causing a music note to appear, one that I saw was magical and was sent at the ground.

"I have an idea. Let me in control for a bit and I'll hum her a tune I'm familiar with," Chara said, me complying as Chara took control and she started to sing a soft tune that sounded very calming.

"~It's not fair to be alone... after what you've been through.

I'll be here by your side, I want to be with you,~" Chara sung, me smiling at the calmness as Shyren then perked up and turned around to show that she was actually a fish person. And then she started to sing along... in one of the most beautiful soprano voices I'd ever heard.

"~I will spare your life always, I know it's frightening,

Hopes and dreams and love fuel me, I know it isn't easy~..." Shyren sung, me smirking at her as Shyren then looked calm enough as I then took control to talk to her... though I could tell that Shyren was a bit surprised at how her music notes all hit me, yet I was unfazed by them.

"You're... you're not weakened at all by my singing voice?..." Shyren asked shyly, me nodding at that.

"I'm different than most others down here, miss... care to tell me why you were crying earlier?" I asked, her sighing as she then nodded and I saw something surprising. She swam off of the top of the purple monster and said purple monster then went into the pool of water next to us and I saw that Shyren could literally swim in the air.

"Well... my sister... a long time ago, she got hurt very badly... we were swimming on the way to Hotland... but a piece of the rocky ceiling fell down and hurt Shyster... she was on death's door... Alphys said she cured her and that she could come home... but not only did she hide my sister from me... my sister never sings back to me anymore... we can hear each other singing from the whole way across the Underground if we could and she did sing for at least three days before Alphys hid her away... but she won't sing anymore and... it... it breaks my heart," Shyren said, me looking at her as I then hugged her close and Shyren let me do so, me seeing her body was pretty wet and scaly from being a fish and all.

"Listen, miss. I made a promise to a couple different monsters already. I already am going to go meet with Doctor Alphys to find out what happened to the missing monsters. When I do so, I'll find your sister and reunite you once again. Okay?" I smiled, Shyren smirking at that.

"I trust you, human... save my sister... I'll give you anything you want in return," Shyren said, me smirking at that.

"Well, how about a duet? Me and you singing a song?" I asked, Shyren smirking at that.

"That sounds lovely... I'll perform a duet with you if you can save my sister," Shyren said, me nodding at that as we then moved down the corridor a bit and we then saw that there was a room ahead of us that had a lot of water trickling down from the ceiling.

"That water is actually directly from the surface. We're right underneath of a raging river that is on Mount Ebott itself," Chara said to me, me smiling at that as we then moved a bit more and then we saw none other than Spike waiting in a small alcove out of the water's reach. And he looked at me with a smile before Magenta then appeared next to me, Spike gawking at that.

"i... I... S-Sis?... I-It can't be... y-you... I thought you... how?" Spike gawked as Magenta responded by connecting her head to Spike's left shoulder and her smiling at him as the duo then had a small no-arm hug.

"This nice human saved me from a fate worse than death, bro," Magenta said, Spike gawking at that.

"W-What?! Y-Yo... you're a human?" Spike asked, me nodding at that. "And you saved my sister?... How?" Spike asked.

"Remember when Undyne was talking about Gaster? Well, I managed to find out where he was and also where your sister and numerous other monsters had vanished to. A plane of existence called the Void, which I then found the entrance to and freed them from... but while they were trapped in the Void, only a scant amount of people knew of their existence, because the Void tries to make the world forget about those lost to it... but that all changed today," I said, Spike smirking at that.

"Yo, I never thought I'd say this in my entire life... but humans are SO COOL! You were able to save my sis Goner Kid from being forgotten!" Spike said, me smiling at that.

"Well, just like I gave you a nickname, I gave Goner Kid a nickname as well. Her name is now Magenta, as that is her skin color," I said, Magenta giggling at that.

"And I owe everything to Frisk, here," Magenta smiled, Spike smirking at that and going to my ear.

"Treat her right, Frisk, okay? If you hurt her feelings at all, I'm gonna tell Undyne to beat you up! Deal?" Spike asked, me smirking at that.

"Deal, bro," I smiled at him as we then moved down the corridor a bit and then came out of it to see a sight that made us look at it in wonder. It was a giant expanse of the cavern with a giant castle in the distance and tons of glowing rocks on the ceiling.

"Whoa... so pretty!" Spike smirked at the sight.

"He's right... this is the spot that Asriel gave me my heart locket... he said it was his favorite place in the Underground and that he wanted to be best friends forever..." Chara said in my thoughts as I heard her cry a bit and I smiled. I simply went forward some more and then saw something that would complicate my progress. A ledge that was just out of reach for me.

"Hmm..." I frowned... but then, something surprising happened. Gaster appeared above the ledge via teleportation and I smiled at him.

"Do not worry, Frisk. I'll give you and your friends a bit of assistance," Gaster said as he then did something surprising. He used some kind of magic to force the ground underneath us to rise into a slope, me smiling at that.

"Sweet! Thanks, Professor," I smiled, him nodding at that.

"Consider this a means of repaying your kindness... though I do not know how I can ever thank you enough," Gaster said before then disappearing once again, Spike gawking at that.

"Who was that guy? And how come he can teleport? I didn't know there was teleportation magic!" Spike smiled widely.

"That was Gaster. He was the first one who was lost to the Void and spent the most time in there. He is also the one who created the CORE and a special weapon called the Gaster Blaster, which is a powerful laser cannon that bypasses all defenses to attack the soul directly... but it had no effect on Frisk's soul, because she's special," Magenta said as we then moved forward again, me seeing that there was a long bridge ahead of us. We then started to walk across it... and after a little bit, something happened. A small blue light appeared a few feet in front of me. And a bunch of other smaller lights appeared shortly after... and one of them was directly beneath Spike!

"SPIKE LOOK OUT!" I exclaimed as I tackled him out of the way of the blue light... and just in the nick of time, too. If I hadn't done that, then a magical spear would've skewered him instantly! And who was beneath us? Undyne. "Hey! Watch where you point those spears, miss Undyne! If I hadn't have tackled Spike, he'd be a shishkebab!" I shouted, Undyne gawking at that as Spike looked at me in surprise.

"Undyne did that?" Spike asked.

"I was aiming at the human... I didn't know there were more of you up there!" Undyne said with worry in her voice, which made me a bit surprised.

"How about letting us off the hook this time, miss Undyne? I have a pizza delivery and I don't want to deliver a skewered pizza to the buyer, okay?" I said to her, me then going down the path some more along with Spike and Magenta, Undyne growling lowly as she then vanished, our group continuing forward some more until we saw something impeding our progress. A dead-end. And directly beneath us was a large dump filled with garbage piles and filthy water.

"Ugh... do we have to jump down there?" Magenta asked, me frowning at that as I then decided I'd call up Papyrus on my phone.

"OH! IS THIS THE HUMAN?" Papyrus asked, me smirking at that.

"Yes, Papyrus, and my name is Frisk... could you try to contact your brother for me? I kind of need one of his shortcuts right now," I asked, Papyrus then smiling at that.

"NEVER FEAR! THE GREAT PAPYRUS WOULD NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" Papyrus smiled as he then hung up and, after waiting for a little bit, we then got Sans appear on the plank bridge, him looking at us with a smile and his eye still blue.

"so, you need some help to get down to someplace other than the dump, huh? don't worry, kiddos. i'll give ya a hand," Sans said, me smiling at that before he then did something that made me surprised. He sent out at least three different hands and had them grab hold of our group and he then had us get carried over to an area that looked like a four-way intersection. The west led to where the door to the Void was, the south led to the dump, the north contained a trio of houses and it looked like the east was where he had to go next. "get it? give ya a hand?" Sans asked, me smirking at that and shaking my head.

"Where the heck is a tomato when you need one? That was the worst one yet," I smiled at him, Sans chuckling at that.

"hey, at least i ain't the one afraid of getting a little bit dirty and wet," Sans said with a smirk.

"No, it wasn't because of that. It was because I didn't want the pizza to get ruined," I said, Sans smirking at that.

"you're really dedicated to that pizza delivery plan, huh? and what is the whole plan for you when you get that pizza delivered?" Sans asked, me looking around and trying to see if Flowey was around... though it was very hard to tell, given we were in an area that had multiple eavesdropping points.

"It's a secret, but let's just say that I want to get on her good side, considering she's very shy," I said, Sans nodding at that as our group was about to move to the east... but then we saw that there was a certain ghost to the north of us that was working on what looked like a farm filled with snails.

"Huh... I guess a small detour couldn't hurt, right?" I asked, the others smiling at that.

"I'm game for going to the snail farm," Magenta smirked.
