"I CHOOSE TO-" Her voice was cut short.
She hesitated, happy yet unsure. "To be a goddess." She met my eyes. I smiled encouragingly, "Cupid, is now a good time?"
He grinned, "Erotidia isn't until tomorrow, but I can make an exception."
I embraced Mom, "Good luck with immortality." I whispered to her.
Cupid stood up from his beach chair, his face in deep concentration, he raised his hand to hover above her head.
I glanced at Will's blissful expression, he smiled at me. Mouthing, I'm sorry.
I nodded and watched with wonder as Cupid or Eros assuming since he has a chiton chants some ancient language.
Glows of gold bounce in the air surrounding my mom. They fly in the air, going through her.
Mom's eyes are closed, her face in a state of peace. Cupid gives a lopsided smile as he steps back.
A slight humming noise comes from behind, I turned around to see the three grandmas.
I mean the Fates.
Clotho, Lachesis, and Antropos. Their weathered wrinkly faces sneered. "A goddess." Clotho hissed. "Maria di Angelo mortal a goddess! The mockery, the embarrassment!" Scowled, Lachesis.
"If this tainted Fateā¦" Anthropos threatened. To which, I glared. "But it doesn't. Because you won't do anything other than announce her titles." I challenged.
Lacheies snarled, "Quiet mortal! The pride of gods is gone today! A mortal with not a single drop of divine blood turned deity!"
I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, yeah huge scandal and day of doom. Whatever just do your jobs and go."
Anthropos plucked the eyes from her sister, and smoothed her tattered cloth robe, "Be warned, Demigod! One day, your fate will-"
"LALALALALA!" Will screamed. "WE CAN'T HEAR YOU!"
My eyes screeched as his ear-shredding noise. Will yelled over her words, which infuriated Anthropos. I silently thanked Will, knowing your fate can destroy you as you prevent it.
Also, I hate spoilers.
"ALRIGHT!" She yelled over his screaming. "I won't tell, consider it being merciful." She scorned me.
Anthropos glanced at her eyeless sisters, "Let's begin."
They closed their eyes, erm I mean they didn't have any eyes but closed their eyelids?
" We present to the world, Maria goddess of emotions, feelings, passion, and protection. Patron of mortals and family life ." They said in Ancient greek in synchronization.
I gasped staring at Mom, ignoring the Fates flashing away angrily.
Her features seemed more glowy? Like a subtle light pinpointed to a notice.
Her eyes snapped open, dark pupils swirled like tornadoes.
"Mom? How do you feel?" I asked itching closer. She grinned, "I feel well."
I smiled at her, "So goddess of emotions," I asked, "what is your first action?"
As she was about to answer, Cupid rolled his eyes distastefully.
"I need to contact the Olympians and inform them." Cupid cut in groaning, "Ugh and the paperwork! I need to make many calls to get her throne, palace, and-" more groans, "my weekend is ruined!"
I chuckled. "Good luck with that, Cupid. But I expect you to help her settle into godhood. Or I will have a word with Psyche. And after the smell she can conjure, you will want to be careful."
I teased, as Cupid paled. "Don't worry, I will definitely help."
I smiled. "Great. Um, can you flash us to camp?" I asked, "van and all?"
"Not me, per se." He turned to Mom, "But she can."
Mom smiled slyly, "of course."
At her coy expression, I paled. Turning to Will, "Promise you'll cure me if I end up deformed?" I asked, joking.
His eyes watered. "P-Promise to cure you?" He repeated in a small voice. "You okay?" I asked concerned.
He blinked and mustered a smile, "yeah. Sure, I'll save you."
Mom cast a sympathetic look at Will but snapped her fingers.
