Christmas Miracles
Chapter 19th
It was almost Christmas with Leroy Jethro Gibbs unable to sleep. Though the pain was minimum for his body at this time. The clock had clocked down to midnight making it Christmas with Gibbs grabbing his phone on the tray.
He was hoping that his wife or at least she is his wife right now. He doesn't know anymore with all that has happened to him and the pain along with the suffering that his wife had to deal with.
Sitting up with using the remote control with raising his bed to feel better comfortable. It was still snowing hard with the temperatures having dropped like a rock. Anyone had to be crazy to be driving in this type of weather and killing themselves.
After speaking with Doctor Gilbert. He felt that he needed to find out the truth from his wife on what she wants in life. This is easy for him now needing to finally settling down with Loreile and his son. Along with taking that very long vacation before deciding on whether he should retire.
He's been in the crime business a long time and he was sick and tired of always having his family hurt. And with this last time almost dying by the hands of the monster Jose Juan Hernandez. As it turned out that he surprised everyone with using body doubles when it came to his escape using the tunnels that was dug by the soldiers.
Picking up the phone with looking at the time again being Christmas. Santa Clause should be reaching his house so that Shane at nine months will be able to opened up his gifts. Bringing up the number on the screen with his wife's name. He dialed the number not knowing on whether she was going to answer...
Loreile Gibbs having gotten up with it being Christmas. Shane and the nanny was helping him opening his gifts in the crib that they had brought down from upstairs.
Loreile was thrilled that Santa had arrived to make everyone happy accept herself with her husband in the hospital recovering. She heard her Christmas ringtone go off with seeing of all people calling to be her husband.
She answers it with her heart racing slightly..."Merry Christmas Jethro. How are you with Santa arriving with the goodies?"
"The only goodie I have received was having Doctor Gilbert here stuck in the hospital with the heavy snows and he's the only one on the floor at the moment taking care of the patients besides some of the tired nurses. Is Shane opening up his gifts?" He asked with the feel of the holiday hitting him at this time.
"Oh boy! He is Jethro and loving all of his toys and the new cradle. I found it really beautiful." She stated.
"Your gifts are under the tree, the small tool box in the basement and my vanity dresser underneath the socks and boxers. Let me know what you think of your gifts later on after you had some sleep. I just hope to god the snow is going to stop."
"Me to Jethro. I will surely let you know. Now I suggest you take it easy with sleeping my husband. It's supposed to help with the healing of your body for the most part."
"And mostly your mental state. Am I right Jethro?" She said to have him on the defensive.
"Yeah I guess so. Even though I don't know for sure what is in store for me once all of the bandages are removed from my body. I will know then at that time Loreile whether or not I will be able to perform."
"Jesus! Why are you thinking this way right now. When you're going to have weeks of healing and rehab to get you back on your feet. Along with needing to take it easy with the vacation we spoke about."
"I know. I guess that I am feeling sorry for myself with taking the gamble with going with Rollins before he plunged that syringe into my neck and knocking me out."
"Jethro, you didn't know at the time when everyone had gone their separate ways. And besides it's bridge over the water now with you in the hospital now and awake. That wasn't the case with keeping you in a coma until you were stable further with your injuries. Doctor Taft and Doctor Gilbert gave the order."
"By the way I have to know something from you, Loreile and I want you to be honest with the answer."
Here it comes with his tone of voice and no doubt it was coming ever since he woke up from the coma. She had to answer him even though she wasn't going to do anything drastic right now. "Go ahead and asked the question Jethro?" She asked with a lump in her throat at the moment.
"Do you love me Loreile?" He asked straight out and to the point with his directness.
"Yes I do love you, Jethro. I am just sick of the situation of Hernandez between us all of the time." She will say to him.
"I know this Loreile and I am not going to discuss Hernandez since he's dead now with Vance and Torres killing."
OMG! He doesn't remember her telling him that Hernandez is still alive. And she wasn't going to tell him again until he asked. "True. But now that Hernandez is dead. Are you going to retire finally?"
"I will decide that while we are taking out very long vacation, personal and sick days to add up to three months combined. But first I need to recover further with all of the injuries I had suffered. At least it's Christmas and I need for you to search for your gifts."
"I will right now Jethro with hanging up on you and saying I love you. Get some sleep or else the doctors will be giving you a sleeping potion from Santa."
She hung up the phone to get up to head on over to the beautiful Christmas tree.
