It's late, this one particular Friday night, and Jimin and Jungkook are laying in Jungkook's bed. The moon is bright and peeking through the window, the trees rustling. It's the first night in weeks that the AC doesn't need to be turned on.

Jungkook's head is on Jimin's chest, and Jimin is drawing patterns and shapes up and down Jungkook's spine, loving the way he shivers every time he drags his finger just right.

" Out first date, you told me you'd been into me for a while."

Jungkook slides out of Jimin's arms and props himself up on his elbow. Even in the darkness, Jimin can see him roll his eyes. He clearly knows where Jimin is going with this. " Yes."

" And then again at the lake, you eluded to how long a 'while' was, somewhat, but not really."

Jungkook looks down then back up.

" I suppose."

Jimin stares at him, waiting for an answer. When is doesn't come, he asks, teasing, " Are you ever gonna tell me how long you've been pining?"

Jungkook's groan is playful. " I wasn't pining."

" Whatever you say," he pauses. " Just fucking tell me, Jeon."

They're both quiet for a few moments. Jungkook eventually drops down to the mattress, flat on his back. " God, you're relentless. Clearly never gonna let this go." Jimin knows he isn't really annoyed, though. " Jimin, I don't want you to read too much into this or think I'm crazy or think I was a terrible friend to Tyler, okay?"

Jimin rolls over and looks at Jungkook. Jungkook won't meet his gaze, though, " What does that mean?" Jimin asks.

Jungkook clears his throat. " It means...It means ten years."

" Ten years?"

He nods. " Yes."

" Ten years of what?" Then Jimin gets it. " Jungkook do you mean you...since high school?" He feels like he can't swallow.

Jungkook rubs his eyes. " About, yeah."

" Did Tyler know?" is all he can think to ask.

He takes a deep breath. " God, no. I mean, when you guys first met, he used to tease me because I'd ask to hang out with you a lot. I guess I was kind of obvious in the beginning. But as soon as I caught wind of the fact that you two were together, I turned it off. Mostly. Then we never talked about it again. And that was that."

Jimin swallows. " Ten years, though...really?"

Jungkook groans. " Can we stop now? This is embarrassing."

" Yeah, for you."

He laughs. " Shut up."

They fall into silence again. Jimin rolls over and outs his head on Jungkook's bare chest. His heart is beating steadily. It's comforting.

" I don't think this would work as well as it is if we weren't best friends for so long first," he whispers. He reaches under the sheets and finds Jungkook's hand. On instinct, Jungkook laces their fingers together and squeezes tightly. " Because you're still my best friend. But now, you're just...You're everything."

" Min," Jungkook whispers back. He kisses him on the shoulder. Jimin thinks he might say something else, but he doesn't.

He looks up at Jungkook and blinks.

" I'm a little bit gone for you, I think." he says, voice still hushed.

Jungkook inhales sharply. " Baby, you have no idea." His voice is shaky and it breaks on the last word; Jimin doesn't say a thing about it.

Later, Jungkook spends the better half of an hour teasing and touching Jimin until Jimin is on the verge of begging him to fuck him. Jungkook lines himself up with Jimin and just before he starts to push in, he pauses and looks down.

" Before, it was always just a crush, nothing more, because you weren't attainable. It was like a stupid, farfetched dream. But now..." He pulls Jimin's hand up to his face and drops a kiss to the inside of his wrist. Jimin can almost see his thoughts spinning around in his mind. " It's like, I have you, and it's not just a crush anymore, Min. I didn't think I could care about you more than I did but here we are and I need you to know that."

Without another word from either of them, he finally pushes inside Jimin, quickly working up to a steady rhythm, thrusting over and over at a pace that Jimin is sure is going to kill him. He can't think of anything other than Jungkook, Jungkook, mine, Jungkook.

After their sweat cools, their wrapped up within beach other again, and Jimin can't think of words to adequately describe the words swimming around in his mind.

He knows Jungkook is almost asleep, he can tell by the way he breathing is shallow and soft, but he touches his jawline anyway, tracing the barely there stubble with his finger.

" Kook." he whispers, kissing his neck.

" Mhm." Jungkook mumbles back, head lolling to the side.

Jimin smiles and kisses him again, softly. " It's a lot of pressure to live up to the standards that you've been holding onto for the better part of a decade," he says against Jungkook's shoulder. " But I want you to know that I don't ever want to let you down, I never wanted to do that."

Jungkook doesn't open his eyes when he murmurs, " You're exceeding every expectation I ever had of you. I don't know how you're doing it. I'm just..."

He opens one eye. "...I'm just very lucky."

Jimin does not have a lump in his throat. He pulls the sheets up to his chin. " I hope i was worth the wait," he mumbles quietly, only half kidding.

" Would have waited even longer if I knew it would be like this, if I had to," Jungkook says, voice hushed. He pulls Jimin in closer, Jimin knows he's fighting sleep. He's pretty close himself.

" Yeah, there won't be anymore waiting," he says closing his eyes.

Jungkook might say something else after that, but Jimin doesn't hear him. Sleep wins the battle.

He's heard everything he needs to hear anyway.

He takes Jimin out on a date one Thursday night, complaining that they're already a boring married couple, and he wants to have some fun. Jimin expects he'll take him to the knew IMAX movie, or the bar that just opened up down the road, but instead, they end up in front of an arcade.

" Really?"

" Really, really."

" Whatever you say."

They head inside, Jungkook giving the extremely bored looking boy behind the counter two 20 notes, and hands off the plastic cup filled with tokens to Jimin.

" Ready for me to kick your ass?"

Jimin rolls his eyes, so disgustingly endeared. " Bring it on."

They stop in front of the sweet crane first, Jimin swearing when the crane drops his lollipop at the last minute. He puts in another token, the same process repeating itself.

" Fuck it. I don't want a lollipop, anyway."

Jungkook puts in one of his own tokens and pulls up a snickers bar on the first try.

" Show off," Jimin mutters under his breath, but smiles when he feels Jungkook slide the chocolate bar into the back pocket of his jeans.

They make their way around the arcade, stopping at the lanes of skee-ball. Jungkook hits the 100 point hole nearly every time, and Jimin gets so mad, he climbs up the lane and starts tossing his balls in until one of the employees yells at him to get down.

And don't even get him started on the pinball or Pac-Man machine.
