Darby: "Why are you being so crazy? Are you pissed at me because Jessica got hurt out there?"
Priscilla: "You drop kicked a female. Yeah. I might have a problem with that."
Jessica: "OK. Hit the brakes. Normally, I'd stay as far away from domestic disputes as humanly possible. But, I feel my honor is at stake here. So, first of all, I am not "a female" he drop kicked. We are professional wrestlers wrestling in a professional ring. Accidents happen. I will heal.
Second, I love the fact that you have my back and are being supportive of me. But I will not be a pawn in the middle of your domestic issues.
Third, if your going to box, I'm getting out of the fall out zone here."
I stand away from the two of them like they are squaring off and Darby gives me a "what the fuck" face. I gesture like "continue."
Darby: "We aren't going to box or shed blood."
Priscilla: "The Darby Allin I know never would've gotten into that situation. You really are changing on me. I'm sorry if you feel dragged into this, Jess. I get protective of the new girls. Especially the strong ones like you."
Jessica: "No blood. No foul. I got your back."
Darby: "I'm sorry you feel like I've changed so much. You didn't seem to mind me when we were married."
Priscilla: "I have to remind myself we aren't married anymore and I have no business getting involved in your rivalry."
Darby: "Its all good. No worries. We were headed out anyway. We're meeting up with Mox at some bar."
Priscilla: "I won't hold you back. See ya tomorrow."
Darby: "Until then."
Priscilla: "Until then."
She walks off.
Jessica: "What the actual fuck, dude."
Darby: "Mutual separation but she still has feelings for me. The idea of me hurting a female brings back bad memories for her."
Jessica: "She was in a domestic situation before you."
Darby: "Yeah. Abusive father."
Jessica: "That explains it. You struck a nerve. Professional accident or not. That also explains her mother instinct to kind of comfort me. She doesn't even know me like that and was like instinctively protective of me."
Darby: "She takes care of a younger brother at home. Are you sure your ok? That lump needs ice again."
Jessica: "Stop worrying so damn much about me. I know my body. I trust myself. I will ice it when I go home. Now don't be a worry wart."
I ruffle his short hair and he laughs. I finally feel like I can relax and enjoy a couple drinks. We show up over at The Hollywood. I laugh at the ironic name as we go in. Mox is a no frills dude. So its ironic he'd pick a bar called The Hollywood.
Mox: "Took you two long enough. What the fuck?"
Jessica: "Priscilla thought I needed another mother and apparently she had a few things to tell Darby after that match."
Mox: "You seriously need to let that one go, dude. Divorce means just that. I know you two are still amicable and that's cool. But exes never make good friends. It always goes south. Been there done that."
Darby: "You're never going to understand our connection. She's one of those people that I just click with. Yeah. She's an ex wife and I'm always going to love her because she was my first. Nothing wrong with that."
Jessica: "OK. Since she's your first everything and your always going to love her. Why were you trying to get in my pants backstage?"
Darby: "Because your not looking for all that. Its just physical and nothing more."
Jessica: "I'm not looking for anything. I wanted to kick your ass in the ring. That was it. You turned your head to kiss me. I was just giving you a "fuck you" to seal my point."
Darby: "Have you considered using the finger? Just a suggestion."
