It's been three months, three months since that day after Roberts surgery. Three months of separation.
But now they were over and she was back home. Robert was waiting downstairs while she was putting her things back where they belonged.
When she was done she headed back downstairs where Robert was sitting at the kitchen island with his computer in front of him probably working.
She looked around the living room that looked so different from when she left. Everything used to be so neat and clutter was just not acceptable but now cat toys were spread around everywhere, on the floor, the table and the couch. She started to pic up some toys but didn't know where to put them.
A: „Do you have any place for these?"
R: „huh?" he only then turned around and saw the toys in her hand. „oh uhm not really..."
A: „We should get a basket or something."
R: „Yea we could but you know she will just pull them all out again."
A: „Maybe you should teach her some better behaviour then." she joked.
R: „yea maybe I should." he watched Smokey approach Andy before she jumped up to get a toy that was in Andy's hand and Andy jumped.
A: „Oh my god. Don't do that cat. Say something before you attack me like that." Andy let go of the toy Smokey had caught.
Robert started laughing.
R: „first, she has a name and it's not cat and second Smokey is a cat, what is she supposed to say?"
A: „I don't know, maybe meow like any cat? She needs a bell." she put the other toys on one pile at the wall.
R: „She's not a cow."
A: „I'm sure lots of cats have a bell on their collar."
R: „Yea probably true, we can get her one if you want."
A: „We will see, but Can we at least put the cat toilet somewhere else? The whole living room is smelling, I'm about to throw up."
R: „But, uhm..."
A: „Robert it's a freaking cat! I'm your wife!"
R: „You are right I'm sorry babe."
He closed the distance between them and took her In his arm before he started kissing her.
R: „I'm gonna put her toilette in the guest bathroom. She'll get used to it."
A: „Thank you."
R: „I missed you Andy."
A: „Oh you did?" she teased him.
R: „What do you mean? Of course I missed my wife."
A: „Seemed like you were pretty happy as soon as you found something new."
R: „Something? What are you talking about?"
A: „nothing, whatever. Forget i said something."
She tried to get out of his arms but he wouldn't let her.
R: „Andy...?"
A: „The kitten okay? I'm talking about the kitten."
Robert started laughing and Andy hit him in his chest.
A: „Stop laughing it's not funny."
R: „Right, so you were jealous of Smokey?"
A: „No I wasn't jealous of a cat."
R: „Uhuh, okey. You weren't."
A: „I wasn't."
R: „Alright, then you wouldn't mind if I go cuddle with her now right?"
Andy raised her eyebrows.
A: „I just got back home and you wanna cuddle with her instead of me?"
R: „Not jealous huh? Smokey, where are you? Cuddle time!"
Andy sighed and started walking away, but Robert came right behind her and scooped her up in his arms. He carried her to the couch where they laid down together. Andy was laying on top of him with her head resting on his chest.
A: „I missed this."
R: „I did too."
He held her tight as if he was scared she was gonna get up and leave at any second.
A: „Wait, what is that." she turned her head and saw that Smokey had jumped onto her back and was now laying down.
A: „So that's how it's gonna be now huh?"
R: „You Really don't like her do you? Do you want her to be gone?"
A: „I- it's- I'm just not a cat person." she sighed. „But Robert I know how much you love her I would never ask you to give her away."
R: „Thank you Andy." he kissed the top of her head. „You just wait and see, you'll fall in love with her in no time."
A: „Pretty positive I won't."
R: „Well she is for sure falling in love with you. She's already asleep on your back."
A: „She's just sleeping on me because you are already occupied." she giggled.
R: „Well that might be true but still she loves you more than the floor."
A: „Wooow, what a compliment, i feel so honoured to be more comfortable than the hard floor." she joked.
R: „I really missed you." he let his fingers wander through her hair.
A: „I did too and I'm happy to be back home, even if there's a little cat taking over the place."
