Author's Note: Hello my lovelies - here is the aftermath of the wedding! Kind of a preview before the honeymoon and the return trip. I hope you enjoy and some new announcements: I have NOT abandoned my Harry Potter Story, rather it's been on the back-burner while I worked on this one. It will be picking up soon. Also - new story to come, kind of excited about it, it's been floating in my head for some time now.

Enjoy

EIGHT

The sun had long gone behind the mountains and trees that surrounded the property. The guests had long gone, food had been put away, the mess had been cleaned, the caterers - paid. We all sat in the main house, I sat on Jasper's lap, Peter and Char occupied the love-seat and Emmet took one of the armchairs while Rose sat perched on his knee. It was quiet save for the fireplace crackling, a light cedar smell wafted into the room, it was subtle and not overpowering. I leaned into Jasper's chest, normally we would be on a flight to our honeymoon, but with the new development with my sister Jasper postponed the trip. I felt slight irritation, but I wasn't sure if it was mine or Jasper's. A phone sat on the coffee table, unmoving. Originally when we had planned the wedding there was a slight possibility that this would occur, apparently neither Alice nor Masen told anyone the severity of the situation or how quickly this would progress. But the back up plan was to continue on with the wedding, whether or not Carlisle and Esme were there.

But to my knowledge we were to continue on with life and we'd be updated. Jasper knew how much family meant, although Bella and her husband were selfish gits...she was still my sister. And a part of me was utterly attached to her because of that. So we waited for the informational text. It had been hours since the ceremony had begun, hours since the Cullen Coven leader and his wife slipped away.

"I hate waiting," Emmett said petulantly.

I had to crack a smile at his tone, Emmett never was good with waiting. He was more of an instant satisfaction kind of person - which in reality, made his relationship with Rose so much clearer. He loved to make his wife happy, and she was so expressive she often gave him his instant satisfaction - either physically, or by the look on her face…if anything he craved her happiness. It was rather endearing.

Jasper then procured the envelope that Billy had given him earlier, I vaguely wondered where he had stored it as I hadn't seen it on his person, as he set it on the coffee table next to the silent electronic device. The rest of the room stared at the envelope and Billy's scratchy yet elegant writing across the paper.

"Billy Black and the rest of the Quileute Elders have given their blessing,"

Rose snorted at the terms.

"Sort of hypocritical of them, considering the nearly the entire pack was here and Lettie is a honorary member,"

Jasper's face quirked in a half smile but shook his head.

"Not what I mean Rose. They gave us their permission to form another coven," He said slowly. The shock registered on everyone's face. "And permission to turn Lettie if she so chooses at her discretion, they simply wish for a head's up to mentally prepare."

Silence followed the announcement.

"Without repercussions or retaliation?" Peter asked sharply.

Jasper nodded, and Peter leaned back looking surprised and slightly awed. Jasper looked at his friend in amusement, I had a feeling it was not often that Peter was struck silent. He always seemed to be verbose and had an inkling for the future, no where near Alice's Seer gift, but eerily correct and accurate.

"I know I brought the idea up to you before, the offer still remains on the table." Jasper finished softly.

Emmett and Rose looked at one another as did Peter and Char.

"We're in," Emmett said after a few moments of silent communication with his wife.

Jasper didn't look surprised at his 'brother's' response. Things had been rocky with the Cullen Coven since us Swan's had appeared in Forks. Even more so at Masen's response to the youngest of the Swan girls. He nodded towards Emmett and Rose and I beamed at them, grateful and happy.

"We wouldn't ever think about tethering you down to one spot, you'll always have a room." Jasper said seriously.

Char smiled gratefully. Char and I had talked at length about her and Peter's nomadic spirits. They enjoyed traveling immensely, and I thought they did the world a service by getting rid of the filth and horrors that crawled the streets. Others may have found reprehensible what they did, what their main diet was, but I didn't have a problem with it.

"We'd like to accept the offer as well,"

Jasper's face softened.

"We'll have a room always open."

And we did, we had designed a loft-like space for the couple above the barn, it was one of the projects we had worked on. It was like a one bedroom apartment above the barn - bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen for appearances sake. There was also a plot of land not too far from us that Emmett and Rose could purchase to make their own opulent homestead. I know Rose always dreamed of adoption, maybe they could use that bit of land to make that dream come true.

The warm atmosphere was doused when the phone rumbled on the coffee table - not a call but a text from Carlisle.

Isabella went into labor - and was forced to deliver the fetus - however it died in childbirth. Nearly took Isabella as well - Edward managed to stop it in time with the venom. She's currently in the process of undergoing the Change.

Carlisle

My heart went through a wide-range of emotions, sadness and grief about the termination of the pregnancy. That would devastate anyone - I wasn't surprised however. When I last saw my sister, she was gaunt and unhealthy looking. The fetus was sapping the very essence that was my sister - her very life. Her human body wasn't strong enough to carry both her and the life of her baby - whatever it was - human or vampiric. I was also relieved that it wouldn't be possible for them to try again - they'd make shite parents. Both were so entirely selfish in their own beliefs and their own little world it's hard to see them as parents. Even Rose - who I admit is vain and wrapped up in her own beauty - would make a better parent than Bella.

Jasper sat back heavily, keeping his arm around my waist and sat back and considered the message.

"You should go on the honeymoon," Rose said after a few beats of silence.

"Shouldn't we wait for her to wake up?" I asked quietly.

Jasper's fingers tightened very slightly on my waist.

"No, she's volatile as a newborn, she won't be safe to go near."

I grew slightly sad at that admission. Things were going to change now, especially with my twin as a vampire. I would be the enemy as a human.

"Her scent doesn't appeal to us," Char offered when she saw my face.

"I'd rather not take that risk," Jasper said tersely.

Char nodded in understanding.

"Go on your honeymoon, take the laptop and phone, we'll text or email if anything happens," Rose offered.

That seemed appealing at least we'd be in the loop, wherever we ended up.

"We don't need to make a decision this moment, you need to get some rest." Jasper said kissing my temple.

THAT I wasn't going to argue with. I was tired, but still on a happy high from the day's activities. Jasper scooped me up and we headed up to the bedroom, I heard the front door open and close. I looked at Jasper quizzically.

"They're giving us some space," He said softly.

"Yet, you don't really seem to be in the mood," I noted lightly.

Jasper chuckled as he set me on the bed.

"Maybe I'm saving it up till the actual honeymoon," he teased, kneeling once more before me.

I watched him as he carefully unzipped my shoes pulling my feet from them. He gently massaged one foot before turning to the other boot and gave my neglected foot the same treatment.

"I'm becoming rather fond of those boots," he murmured, tugging me up so I was flush against his body.

"I like them too," I breathed as he trailed his hands from my arms, to shoulders, to shoulder blades across my bare skin - to the zipper of my dress that sat right above the curve of my butt.

I could practically hear my heart pounding wildly in my chest and the room felt much warmer than earlier. Jasper's eyes were molten in the darkness of the room. He bent forward so his lips were against my neck, kissing, nipping, tasting, Almost without realizing it, he managed to pop the fastening that lingered there, the dress suddenly felt heavy and droopy against my skin. With every touch a fire ignited, my skin tingled and yearned for his touch.

In the end, we did break in the new bedroom.

The sky wasn't even awake when Jasper woke me up next. Glancing at the bedside clock, it read 3:30 AM. We hadn't gotten much sleep the night before so waking up so early was...difficult.

"You can sleep on the plane darlin," he assured me as he helped me get up and dressed.

Plane? As I began to wake up more I remembered what happened the day and night before. Almost instantly I perked up, as though someone had given me a cup of coffee. Jasper must have felt my change in moods as he chuckled at my antics.

"Are you going to tell me where we're going?" I asked as I attempted to pull on an over-sized sweater.

Jasper chuckled, as he placed a kiss on my cheek but he shook his head at my question. And I was momentarily distracted as he got up to put a shirt of his own. I'd never grow tired of seeing him. I knew most people would find his scars scary or worrisome, but I found they were beautiful in their own way and it showed he survived his horrific past. Something that most people would crumble and fall prey to. A gentle poke to my forehead brought me back to the present, he looked down at me - still struggling to put my arm through the sleeve of my large sweater - in amusement.

"Focus gorgeous, or we'll miss our flight."

I felt the color rise to my cheeks in slight embarrassment of ogling my husband, but I managed to keep my hormones under-wraps while I got dressed. Settling on an over-sized sweater and a pair of yoga pants and some sandals. Apparently my bags were already packed as I discovered going downstairs. Rose and Emmett were there, Rose pointed to the kitchen counter where a plate of french toast and sausage were waiting with a glass of milk.

"Sleep well?" Emmett asked with a sly grin.

I gave him a slight glare as Rose smacked him upside the head at his question. I began eating as Rose began rattling off to Emmett.

"We're not late are we?" I asked.

Rose shook her head.

"You're doing well on time, don't fret."

I gobbled down my food and then we all got into Emmett's Jeep which was loaded with our bags, Emmett had loaded them in the Jeep while I was eating, and drove off to the airport in Port Angeles. The town was still not awake and there were very few people in the airport. I felt for them, I wasn't quite awake either. I noticed as we continued through the airport that most of the men and women there were on business looking sharp in their suits and business casual attire. I was also quite amused to see that nearly 90% of them carried either a briefcase or a rolling backpack like it was portrayed in a movie.

We checked in for our flight, my brows rose in surprise at the destination - San Francisco. I raised my eye at him. He held a grin, but didn't give anything away.

"Just a stop," he assured me.

We got settled in some seats waiting for our flight to be called. Upon looking at our tickets they were of course - first class - vaguely I wondered how expensive this flight was when I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand. Looking up I didn't see anyone right away that looked conspicuous. Looking behind us however there was a girl that seemed to be studying us - but wasn't exactly careful about it. She looked vaguely familiar, when the memory clicked for me I tensed and looked away. Jasper must have felt a change in the atmosphere because he looked at me curiously.

"What's wrong?"

I hesitated.

"The Volturi are here," I mumbled.

His eyes sharpened and began searching the area.

"Jane is behind us," I murmured.

Jasper whipped around and located Jane who flinched under his glare.

"Be right back darlin,"

His voice was strained but relatively calm for him. He stood and took off at human speed in her direction. I watched him until the tingling feeling returned. Spinning back around I saw a hulking figure. He's tall, standing at six feet seven inches, hulking - at least compared to my own form. His hair was cropped short and black, his eyes were a red-brown, I had the sneaking suspicion he was wearing brown colored contacts to hide the red of his eyes. He was big, nearly Emmett's brawn, but he was relaxed and seemed aloof.

"So you're the one that has Jane in a tizzy," He said conversationally.

"Unintentional I assure you," I quipped back.

He sat in the chairs across from me, studying me.

"He shouldn't have left you alone," He commented off-hand.

"She's not,"

Peter peeked out from the chairs directly behind me, Emmett sat with him. Felix's smile dropped slightly at their appearance, having not noticed them before.

"Her guard?" the man mused.

"Her family," Emmett corrected.

The man smiled again.

"I'm Felix," He introduced.

"Lettie,"

He grinned, he seemed friendly enough and Peter and Emmett didn't seem too perturbed by him.

"Volturi checking up on us?" Peter asked casually.

"Nope, I came to make sure Jane didn't do something especially stupid." Felix said, shrugging.

"And my being human has nothing to do with it?" I asked sarcastically.

Felix smiled but he shook his head.

"Even the Volturi aren't that stupid,"

Peter snorted.

"Clearly not,"

Felix frowned and followed the line of gaze to Jasper and Jane. Jasper didn't look too happy and Jane even looked slightly fearful.

"Yes - Jane will be punished accordingly. She wasn't supposed to be here."

"What IS she doing here?"

Felix shrugged.

"She seemed to be put out when she discovered that Aro was making an exception with you Swan girls. You I can see - but the other…"

I flushed, it wasn't exactly a secret that the Volturi feared Jasper - and for good reason. The scars that I found beautiful were a resilient warning to any other of his kind. He'd fought in many wars and the scars were a testament on how powerful he really was. Where the Volturi had their trump card with those who were gifted in their Guard, Jasper had experience in war and a reputation that precedes him. The Volturi had a strict no-contact rule with Jasper, and honestly I was surprised by the presence of Felix and Jane.

"So Jane was going rouge?" Peter asked sharply.

"Aro didn't order her here, she'll be dealt with."

Before anyone else could respond Felix's smile dropped and he nodded respectfully to Jasper who had come back from his discussion with Jane.

"Felix," he said diplomatically.

His eyes were dark - he was crabby.

"Good to see you again Whitlock - congratulations." he said kindly.

Jasper nodded stiffly in thanks. Felix stood and looked at me kindly.

"It was nice to see you again Lettie,"

With that he strode over to where Jane was standing, however she looked quite different than her usual pale self. In fact she looked rather shaken, and dare say - afraid. Whatever Jasper had said to her had her visibly shaken. I peeked up at my husband.

"Are you ok?" I asked quietly as he watched the pair leave.

"Irritated," He said offhandedly.

"That makes two of us," Peter said, his own eyes trained on the duo.

"Make that three. What the hell was she thinking?" Emmett asked.

It was strange to see Emmett so serious and grim looking. He normally was so jovial and fun-loving.

"I don't think she was, she doesn't like not being right, or anyone else having Aro's attention." Jasper commented.

"Do you think it'll be an issue?" Emmett asked.

Jasper peeked over at Peter - while he was no seer - his gut-feelings were typically correct.

"Not for us,"

I heard the underlying comment behind that one. While we were our own coven soon, the Volturi won't be an issue for us. While they may keep a watchful eye on us from a distance, they won't be a bother to us. Since Aro had his eye on Bella - they may be hearing from the Volturi again. Jasper nodded once at his admission and both Peter and Emmett seemed to relax, now that the threat was gone.

"Flight 626 headed for San Francisco may now board, again…"

"That's your flight," Emmett commented lightly.

"We'll stick around until you return, keep an eye on the place." Peter offered.

Jasper blinked once in surprise, caught off guard by the offer.

"You don't need to, you're more than welcome to go travel."

Peter shook his head with a smile on his face.

"Nah don't trouble yourself, Char and I wanted to stay in the area for a bit longer anyway. We have plentiful food in the area that will keep everyone out of trouble for a while."

Jasper looked surprised but not displeased.

"Thank you," He said sincerely.

We hugged everyone goodbye, well Emmett and Peter - Rose and Char stayed behind to do a sweep and clean up the house. They shared a common theme of not liking to leave anything dirty.

I sat in my seat as Jasper put our carry-on bags overhead, he sat beside me and kissed the back of my hand. As we waited for the flight to take off I glanced over at my husband, his eyes danced with mischief. He was enjoying my torture of curiosity of not knowing where we were going.

"Are you going to tell me where we're going?"

"Not San Francisco," He said teasingly.

I rolled my eyes.

"The final destination?"

"You'll enjoy it," He said vaguely.

I groaned and he grinned.

"You're not going to tell me are you?"

He shook his head.

"This is just one of two connecting flights."

Thoughts swirled in my head.

"Is that why Rose was making sure i have a passport?"

Jasper nodded slightly.

"We're going overseas!"

Jasper must have felt my elation in my mood change and he chuckled. Suddenly I was very curious and very excited for our destination - wherever that may be. I had never been overseas, and Jasper knew I wanted to travel - we'd talked about it before. I felt myself bouncing in my seat even as the plane took off.
