I Don't Own Minecraft

Just a note, I can't reply to guest reviews, and I don't clutter my stories by replying to them in these chapters. So if you have questions just get an account and ask me then so I can answer.

It was night at the moment, a day after the mining trip, and I couldn't sleep at the moment. I was half sure it was some annoying skeleton or spider above my head on the surface, but I wasn't quite ready to head back up at the moment to kill whatever it was. For one, if there was a mob up there then there would most certainly be more than one. After all hostile mobs spawn more frequently when there are more players nearby. It's why the siblings last group got swarmed by mobs. Though I will admit I am curious about how this Central Hub I've heard about, and how it defends against that little tidbit of game knowledge.

It didn't really matter right now did it though. So I just sighed to myself as I pulled out my sword and begun to head up to the surface, making sure to hug the wall so I wouldn't accidentally wake up the siblings in case they were still sleeping. No reason to get yelled at when it's almost midnight after all. Well they probably wouldn't yell at me, in fact Bine recently seems to stop being as annoying as he use to be, I didn't really know why but I didn't complain, though Alysine was still the definition of the cold shoulder.

I didn't get why though, and it was starting to bug me, I mean I've done nothing but be good, sure I'm not the best with conversations and I'm sure that hasn't helped any, but my first act since I had met her was save her brothers life at the risk of my own. So the fact that she was so bitchy to me really didn't set well with me, in fact it really had begun to annoy me, but I shoved those feelings away and just gave her space. I didn't want an argument. I fought enough already against mobs, I didn't need to do that against actual people.

Moving out of the cave, I let my mind move on from that thought as I pulled out my sword and looked around for a moment before rolling my eyes, it was just a couple of spiders. Moving over towards them, I stabbed one in the abdomen as it jumped at me, before flicking it off the blade before slicing into the second one, mostly decapitating it. Honestly mobs are not that hard to deal with anymore now that I'm use to how they attack. Of course that's just the common overworld mobs, I haven't run into anything like witches or evokers yet so I can't say everything is this easy, especially since I know how bad the nether is.

But I'm not going to complain that I'm getting use to being able to kill off the normal threats without to much difficulty. I'm sure if there was more than five or six then I would be in trouble but thankfully that hasn't happened yet, though it does remind me that I do need to look into getting some more arrows. I should also get Allie a bow as well since she doesn't seem to know how to fight, it's why I kept her close to her brother when we went caving so he could protect her. So her having a bow so she could defend herself from a distance would be ideal.

I just hope she knows how to use it otherwise she's going to be kind of pointless in most fights, since her entire thing seems to be the library kid, her survival knowledge is kind of meh at best. I mean she knows a lot about mobs and how they behave apparently, from what I've been told by Bine, but she doesn't seem to know anything else, I mean her brother knows a surprising amount about mobs as well and he can actually fight, though he was kind of lost about crafting recipes and seemed lost about more uncommon mobs.

Though from the few times I have seen him fight, he fights with wide and strong strikes, it's most certainly effective against all these creatures for fast kills but it's also really open and it just looked meh from my side of things since I fight normally with a strong guard with my sword always in front of me to protect myself from anything. But I guess that's the difference between us, I was taught how to fight a human who also had a sword, while he was taught to kill a mob as quickly as possible.

Not to say it was wrong, just very different, but undoubtedly effective against hostile and even passive mobs, but not against other people, which was something that had been plaguing my head for a while now but I wasn't sure how to ask about it. PvP. It was one of the biggest aspects of minecraft when in a multiplayer environment. There were so many servers that were dedicated to it. So what's it like in this world?

After a moment of thinking about it, I just shook my head and decided that I could find out about it later after the three of us get out of this world. For now I should just continue to plan out our next steps, though now that mobs were gone, I didn't head back to the cave, my mind now to caught up with thoughts for me to get any sleep. It wasn't a new thing, this has happened a number of times already in the past two weeks I've been here for.

Looking around for a moment at my surroundings, I hummed to myself before turning and making my way to a spot I didn't visit often, only really at night. The beach where I had spawned into this world. I had started doing this around the fifth day here when I couldn't sleep. Making my way there, as I walked up a hill, I sighed to myself as I looked out at the ocean as the moon reflected against it along with the millions of stars in the sky. It was an admittedly beautiful sight which always helped me think as I listened to the waves.

Sitting down on the hill top, I absently noted that I wasn't as sore as before, I had healed a lot today, meaning the potion's negative effect was more than likely worn off by now. Meaning that regeneration potions have a negative effect that lasts for roughly five days. That wasn't close to ideal really, but I guess with how fast the potion can heal you, if you're not in top shape after the potion runs it's course then you must have been really hurt. So really you jsut have to be careful abotu what you do after taking the potion.

Like if I was hurt and took the potion and was fully healed from it, then was careful enough to not get overly hurt in the following five days, then it would just seem like nothing was wrong, but because I had gotten hurt afterwards, via wither skeleton and mass teleporting, the following days after the potion were rough. While for Bine, it was more like he was so hurt with so much blood loss that the base regen potion just couldn't heal it all, and so the rest of the injuries had to heal normally, expect slower because of the potion's negative side effect.

So I should be careful with potions and start making a check list about the effects they give, but I have an idea about that already. After all potions can already give a negative effect right? By adding a fermented spider eye it can corrupt and make a normal potion like swiftness become a slowness potion. So if I had to guess, those fermented spider eyes in fact just bring out and make the negative effects already in potions and make them much more potent that it override the positive effects.

So if I took a swiftness potion, after it wore out, I would have an effect similar to slowness for however long it lasts. It was an interesting theory and I'm sure it has to be somewhat right but then again there was a problem with it. You can't corrupt a regeneration potion, a fermented spider eye doesn't do anything to it, but I can attribute that to the fact that this isn't a game anymore, and that it wouldn't make sense if some potions didn't have downsides. Not to mention what night vision would do afterwards.

But ignoring that, it also brings me to the downsides themselves, I mean do they get worse with a stronger potion? Like would the negative effect last longer if the regen pot had been infused with redstone? Would it have stopped our natural healing if I had added glowstone dust? I just didn't know, but I knew it would be important to understand all the same. I'll have to experiment with these ideas later though. After all, I heard the sounds of footsteps behind me. I thought about drawing my sword for a moment before I recognized the foot steps.

"What are you doing out here?" It was Allie's voice, but I had already knew it was her. Bine was taller but he was more quiet when he traveled, not that I couldn't hear him still, and since I didn't hear any tell tale signs of mob sounds, like a hiss, rattle, or groan, I knew it had to be her. Though it was times like these that I realized just how much I've begun to rely on my good hearing. Though, I guess, it doesn't really matter that much.

"Some spiders were fucking around above the cave, then I just couldn't sleep. Why are you up?" I was still looking out at the ocean, not wanting to risk removing myself from the slight peace I was having, it was a naive thing to do, the second that she had approached me, I knew I wouldn't be able to just relax fully, but I still tried to hold onto the feeling even as it slipped away from my grasp as she said.

"I just woke up, you probably got to close to us" I nodded absently at that while making note to expand the entrance of the cave later so it would stop happening.

"Sorry" I didn't really want to talk at the moment, it was a weird feeling that I had become uncomfortably use to. Knowing that I wanted to talk to her but knowing that all I would get out of it was frustration. I didn't like it, but thankfully it wasn't always like that.

"Hmm" She just hummed and walked up to me and seemed to look out at the ocean as well. I wasn't sure why, but I just continued to sit down and looked out at ocean, slightly surprised but happy that the peace had returned even if I felt a bit tense about her being next to me. I was expecting something to happen, what it was I wasn't sure, but something at least. But it didn't. The two of us just looked out at the endless waters for what felt like forever before I was broken from my peace again as I listened to her slowly walk away.

After a long moment, I looked back and saw her disappear into the shack. I didn't want to leave just yet but I would more than likely wake her back up if she falls asleep when I head back. I sighed as I looked back at the ocean again for a moment, while noting for the first time how heavy my eyes felt. After a second I came to the conclusion that maybe we both should get some sleep as I stood up and headed back to the cave. Being extra careful to not wake up Bine as well.

"So what do you two think we should make? We got a lot of iron in the last few days, but not enough for everyone" I hummed at Bine's words as I looked at the grouped up iron ingots that were laying next to the number of furnaces that were in the cave opening. We had gathered thirteen in the last two and a half days, adding onto the four I had leftover which means we had seventeen in total. Right now I was doing math in my head.

"We should make amour right? It only makes sense, I mean we need to go back to the nether soon to get the blazes for the eyes on ender, so we need to be defended for that" I tilted my head to the side as I thought Allie's words as I continued to think. Amour was a good idea, not thinking it wasn't, but I don't like being unprepared either... Ok then. Decision time.

"We don't need anything just yet. I'd rather continue mining until we have everything need to get the both of you at least iron chest plates and iron swords, which we're close to doing already. I say we just continue to mine for today and get the rest needed" Bine seemed to think about it for a few seconds before shrugging, for a guy who focused in tactics, even if only combat tactics, he does seem to just go along with anything we say. Allie didn't think the same.

"No, we need to get the blaze powder soon, it's better to get the needed supplies and get that out of the way" I shook my head at that, while it was a smart idea, I didn't like the idea of multiple trips into the nether, I'd rather get it all done in one trip, which was what I had been hoping to achieve before these two had showed up.

"I disagree, it would be better to go mining and get some gold as well before heading back into the nether, besides with how hot it is, I don't think wearing iron would be a good idea anyway, just using shields would be better but that's up to you two" She glared at me a bit for that but I just stared back long enough to force her to look away, she didn't like it when we shared eye contact. Of course I hated it much worse then she did but it was something of pride I guess.

"Amour is much more important than a shield, even if it is hot, besides it's better to get at least something soon rather than just wasting all this time in the caves" I wanted to argue that she was being impatient, but before I could Bine sighed loudly before saying.

"Sorry dude but I have to agree with my sister here, it just makes more since to get the blaze powder right now, then we can worry about the pearls later" I wanted to argue, in fact I had something on the tip of my tongue, ready to be said, but at the last moment I held back. I needed to control my tongue better, it has barely helped me even time I've talked, something I've been trying and failing to get better at. Still... If I'm going to do this, I might as well think it through.

"I think this isn't a good idea but fine, in this case then, Alysine you should wear an iron chest plate since you barely know how to fight, along with a shield and I'll give you my bow, that leaves us with eight iron left. Bine if you want then you can get an iron chest plate as well or you can make a sword and we can use the rest for iron pickaxes to use in the future" Bine looked over at me for a second before asking.

"You don't want anything?" I rolled my eyes at that and said.

"A better sword is pointless for me, I'm strong enough that a stone sword is good enough. I already don't like how hot it is outside, much less wearing iron in a hell dimension. So yeah, you two can take the iron, I might make me something leather later" It was true, I was getting more aware that I really didn't like it when it's really warm. I prefer the cold for some reason, I can't remember if that's a new or old thing. But that wasn't the real reason, I was more than use to being uncomfortable, the main reason was I didn't want them to die. It was so silly, not wanting some strangers I barely know to die, but I really hated the idea of being alone again.

"Alright then, I guess I'll take the chest plate since you already have an iron pick on you, so no need to make another one" I would argue against that but I had been hoping he would take the chest plate so I didn't say anything as I moved over to a crafting table while picking up the iron and began to quickly make the requested items and then made myself another stone sword, something I had been telling myself to do for a while now.

"It's still a bit early into the morning so we could head in now but I think it would be best to gather some water bottle and some easy to eat food like apples. The water is protected in the bottles so we can drink them in the nether, and I don't know how long we might be in there so food is a good idea" Alysine seemed to not want to wait on something like that, but I was fully ready to fight on this point. I did not want to go back into the nether without water, I can still vividly remember how horrible of a state my throat was in after I had left the nether and I didn't want to repeat that. Thankfully Bine gave me a nod and a side look at Allie which made her back off the point.

"We can handle the water with the two buckets since I know you wouldn't want to do that. So I guess you're on apple finding duty" It surprised me that he thought about why I wouldn't want to deal with the water, but it did make something in my chest feel a little warmer as I gave him a grateful smile before nodding as I moved out of the cave after giving the two the empty buckets.

Walking out of the cave after the two, I moved over towards the oak forest that was nearby and began to look around for some clear apple trees. They weren't hard to spot but I hadn't gone out and collected these before because I usually had more than enough meat from the many animals I have killed. but steak is kind of hard to eat without a bowl while with an apple you can just fucking munch on it kind of anywhere.

Anyway, it took about five minutes but I found one, with a number of apples on it, but they were pretty high up, well I say that like it's a determent. In under a second I had disappeared from where I was standing and was now balancing on a tree branch as I reached out and picked a number of apples off the stems, letting them stack in my inventory as I got about seven in total before I ran out of apples to collect.

Moving backwards a bit, I looked up and then teleported up to the top of the tree before looking around for a moment to try and spot another one so I didn't have to get back onto the floor unless I needed to. It took a minute, but I found one as I didn't even need to teleport, I just jumped the distance onto a nearby branch and moved across the trees until I got to the next area to start collecting apples again.

In total I got twenty-two before deciding that I had gotten enough. It had taken about half an hour to collect them all. The main thing that took so long was the fact that I had to find the trees, which seemed to be as rare as an apple dropping from a despawning leaf, which is like one in two hundred but for the trees themselves. Anyway, moving on from that, I was currently heading back to the little area that we were living at. I wonder if we should ever name it. I like names, and places have names right?

It would be nice to be able to call this place something more than just a shack and a cave. I'll think of some name later and might make a sign or something for it. But for right now, I closed my right eye as I came into line of sight of the shack as I walked over towards if as I watched the two come around the side where the purifier was located. I had upgraded it over time, though the two didn't seem to even consider not just drinking the water from the ocean at first, after a while they much preferred this way as it was a lot more manageable to get down without it being salty as hell.

Anyway, what I did was make a simple campfire and used the heat to evaporate water from a bowl into another, bigger bowl that I had made from retrofitting a boat of all things, which we could then dunk water bottles into to use at a later date. The purifier seemed to be working hard as always as I walked towards it as I looked on as drops of water fell into the boat and was slowly building up in amount. Right now I'd say there was about two or three bottles worth of drinkable water in it at the moment.

As I came into view for them, Alysine looked at me for a second before looking back towards the second bucket like see was willing the device I had jury rigged to go faster, while her brother gave me a small smile and a nod. A nod that I returned as I looked over at the device for a while before saying.

"I have about seven apples for each of us, so we should be able to spend a day or two at worst in the nether without worrying about food" Of course we could kill a hoglin to get food, but I didn't want to drag in a furnace and coal into the nether when I would rather use my inventory space for other things. Though maybe it wouldn't hurt... I have a few hours to think about it, besides they only show up I think in the crimson forest, which while I know were one is, I'd rather not spend more time than needed in the hellscape that was the nether.

"Cool man, this will take a while though, of course you'd know that since you made the thing but still. We got some time to burn" I nodded at that as I looked at the device for a moment and thought about making another one before deciding against it. I didn't have the needed string to make it. Unfortunately the spiders from that night didn't drop anything but a spider eye. Which I did in fact take, even if it was disgusting. I hadn't done anything with it, but I had an idea I wanted to test with it later, as I had been avoiding spider eyes before now for a reason.

I'll wait until nightfall though to do it, no wait, this might wear me out a lot and I don't want to risk going into the nether the next day being anywhere close to exhausted so I'll do it in like two or so days. Damn, another reason to wait off as I really want to try and do this test... No, now I'm being the impatient one here, we all have reached a verdict to go to the nether, even if I don't really want to, it's not like I have a choice now. Oh well, at least they're not completely ignoring my advice, and are waiting until tomorrow morning at least so we have some water, though as I looked at one of the glass bottles in Alysine's hand, I was happy I didn't have my right eye open.

I don't know what about it does this but I can't look through transparent blocks with my right eye, they just seem kind of grey, which was weird but also annoying as I could still feel eye contact through them, because obviously I tried to use that when I first realized it to control the murder impulse. Needless to say it didn't work so getting glasses wouldn't fix my issue, though if I did do that then I would just be blind in my right eye at that point.

Anyway, the reason I was glad I wasn't looking at it right now with my right eye is because like when I'm underground in the dark, my right eye can see in the dark while the other can't, which is both a little disorientating, though I've gotten use to it now, and a bit headache inducing, another thing I've gotten use to. The same could be said with glass as one eye could see through it but the other can't, and it fucks with my head and gives me a bad headache if I look at it for to long.

Well whatever, I was getting use to having my right eye closed at this point and that wasn't a good thing. I'll admit that I do in fact like having depth perception and being able to see things on my right side. And if there was one place I didn't really want to have a blind spot it would be the nether, so I kind of really want this to be over with as quickly as possible.

Fun, we got a solid three chapters of plot before it's now time to go back to hell, isn't that just a fun thing. Yeah, I thought about just making them all spend like a full month underground while Edison trained and tried to find out new ways to control himself and his powers, but that would rip out a lot of conversation, or if I wrote it out, then it would be like six very similar and repetitive chapters of slow character growth, and then they would just curb stomp the general threats in the nether so instead I showed off some other sides of the newest members of the cast, the siblings being impatient and wanting to get everything over with. The reason behind this is something I'll get in to at a later chapter but for now, See ya.
