That Saturday, Abella was having breakfast at home with Marinette when a knock came from the front door.
"Wonder who that could be," said Marinette as Abella got up to answer the door.
"Who is it?" asked Abella as she looked through the peephole in the door.
"It's Pawla," said Pawla as Abella noticed her standing there.
"What brings you here, Pawla?" asked Abella as she opened the door to allow her friend into the house.
"My brother told me you needed help finishing your dress for the dance, so I thought I would come over to give a hand," said Pawla as she walked by her.
"I don't really need that much help, it's only a few things and should only take maybe an hour or so," said Abella.
"Well together the two of us should be able to get finished quicker, then we can just hang out," said Pawla with a smile.
"I'm going to kill Paladin later for this," thought Abella as she led Pawla up to her room. A few minutes later, the two were in Abella's room looking at the dress.
"This dress is so you," said Pawla as they stood before the finished dress which was black with a green belt and cat paws on the knee length skirt.
"Thanks," said Abella as she fell back on to her lounge chair.
"So, are you going with a date to the dance?" asked Pawla.
"There is someone I would like to ask, but I'm too nervous to do so," said Abella with a slight blush as she avoided looking at her.
"Well if you tell me who the guy is I might be able to help you ask him out," said Pawla with a forced smile.
"Wait, why do you think it's a guy?" asked Abella as she finally looked at her with a confused expression on her face.
"You weren't talking about a guy?" asked a surprised Pawla.
"Paladin told me that everyone knew that I was…," said Abella before grabbing a pillow to muffle a scream.
"Abella don't worry, I'm also gay," said Pawla who was trying to not laugh at Abella's reaction.
"You are?" asked Abella without moving the pillow.
"Yes, and there's a girl that I also want to ask to the dance," said Pawla with a nervous expression.
"Is that so?" asked Abella with a worried yet hopeful voice as she lifted her face off the pillow enough so she could look at Pawla.
"In fact, that girl is planning to wear a black dress with green cat paws to the dance," said Pawla who was bright red. This caused Abella to pull away from the pillow to fully look at her.
"I've had a crush on you since we rescued that kidnapped girl, the way you were so passionate about finding her and the jokes you told to keep her calm until the police came were what made me fall for you," said Pawla.
"That's purrfect, because I fell for you back then because of your protective nature, you made sure that she didn't see any of the fight and even kept watch to make sure no one we missed came up behind us," said Abella as tears of happiness fell down her smiling cheeks.
"In that case, Abella Agreste, would you do me the honor of being my date to the dance on Wednesday?" asked Pawla.
"I would be happy to," said Abella with a big smile.
"Maybe I should thank Paladin before I kill him," thought Abella as Pawla hugged her.
