Chapter 7: Friends, Tattoo's, and a night out.
A week after I finished this months' worth of constitution potions, I was out on my lab's balcony working on an order for a VIP client. Specifically, a skin care potion called the beautification potion. Its popular among older women for allowing them to look years younger. It's kind of like Tsunade's technique from Naruto but it's only a couple years off and it cannot be stacked.
Grind the petals of three fairy flowers and add to cauldron.
'It's funny how on my fourth year in this world and my third running a potions business, I would already have a full clientele list.'
I had to stop accepting new clients a few months ago when I reached my maximum VIP limit. I just didn't have the time to deal with so many people at once and had to suspend non VIP clients.
If a VIP client drops out for whatever reason, only then can I make room for someone to take their place.
After a bit of shuffling, I set a max limit of 25 VIP clients and an unlimited amount for premiums since they are all people I consider friends but even then, I only have 5 current premium VIP's.
Stir slowly clockwise, and then add morning dew.
And what a line up my regular VIP's are. I have a real all-star team after filtering people for a few years.
I have the rulers of eight of the fourteen countries as my clients. Nine if you add Toma but he is a premium.
Toma really delivered on his end of the deal for networking.
They were not easy to please, considering some of their personalities. The potions were not hard to deal with but a few of them are disgustingly annoying. Such as the whale of a king of Caelum or the mole king of Joya. Caelum was a kingdom that evolved from pirates gathering in one place long enough to establish their own territory until it reached a kingdom, and their current king is greedy as fuck and talks down to everyone he sees.
The king of Joya is not much different except he is just selfish and thinks everything in the world should be used to make his rule more secure. Joya is a smaller kingdom filled with incredibly tall and deep mountain ranges. It's mainly a mining country and was built up by mining families centuries ago.
Stir vigorously counterclockwise, then heat the mixture to a boil for four minutes.
Others, like the military experienced king of Pengrande who defends his borders from the beasts of the main continent, and the strong willed Queen of Bosco who has to deal the illegal slave trade in Stella, were a pleasure to deal with. They took no crap, but they didn't try to put people beneath them.
They gave me a job, I did it, and we established a working relationship.
And others, like Toma, the buff warrior king of Iceberg, and the motherly queen of Minstrel were a delight to deal with. They were open to the idea of friendship and didn't mind waiting if needed.
The last two rulers were the King of Seven, who wasn't exactly a bad guy, but he was just incredibly skeptical about anything having to do with magic coming out of Fiore. And I can't blame him considering the magic council and the dark guild issue has plagued his kingdom most of all. He signed up as a client but only rarely commissions anything.
And the last one was not a ruler per say but the head of Bellum's democratic council. Bellum is less of a kingdom and more like a collection of various workmen guilds gathering together to create a sort of Trade Union. They are famous for their lumber and the things they craft out said lumber. The most common type of wood used is one that's as hard as iron but made of wood and it's referred to as 'ironwood'.
They elect a council to represent them and its head is the one who got I managed to strike a deal with. He always request lower quality potions in larger quantities to help with workers who are in more dangerous jobs.
Find a single fresh rose that bloomed within the last three days. Pluck seven petals and add to cauldron.
The other territories of Ishgar are not likely to join my list as Stella is a kingdom with a fallen government and rampant with slave trading. They are run by a council of slavers and the area is run like a mafia. It's not to chaotic thanks to them but it's still full of problems for everyone else. I heard rumors that the king of Iceberg and queen of Bosco have plans on breaking the area down and absorbing the land into their own territories.
Desierto is an aptly named since it's a massive desert filled with dangers and inhabited by tribes of indigenous people who are always at war with each other. No one can be bothered to deal with this land, there is nothing of value to anyone.
Midi is a territory that broke away from Minstrel and declared independence. They are a religious bunch that follow an anti-magic belief. The queen of Minstrel simply leaves them alone as long as they don't cross a heavily fortified border line.
And finally, Sin and Enca are pretty much the wild lands filled with crime and chaos so that's not happening. It seems like the king of Pengrande wants to clean them up, but he keeps getting held up at the border with the main continent.
In the end, I have all the rulers that matter with me and I have to thank Toma for opening the opportunity.
Chop the dried Lady's Mantle and add to cauldron, then stir counter clockwise eight times.
Moving on, I have the guild masters of the top five guilds of Fiore, namely Fairy Tail with master Makarov, Blue Pegasus with master Bob, Quatro Cerberus with master Goldmine, Phantom Lord with master Jose, and Mermaid heel with mistress I.
I was honestly surprised when I learned who the guild master of Mermaid heel was, and it solved a big mystery for me from canon. And at the moment, believe it or not, they have two S class mages but considering their ages, I believe they retired by canon time. The rest of their guild does quality work even it's only up to B rank in difficulty.
Still, that makes them better in the eyes of the public than Fairy Tail who can never stop breaking things on jobs they go on even if they always complete their jobs as well.
Add three Occamy feathers and stir vigorously for two minutes clockwise while using telekinesis to move the feathers counterclockwise as if they were fish swimming.
I already spoke of my reasons for taking Jose so moving on, I have a truly shocking trio.
Three of the four gods of Ishgar became my clients. (AN: It's a title, they are not real gods.)
How? Well it happened because I had run into Warrod, an elder of Fairy Tail, while out gathering a type of flower I needed for a potion in Joya.
It turned out that Warrod spends a lot of his time moving along the border of Desierto and using his magic to create forests along the edges of the desert to stop its encroachment on fertile lands. He said it was his dream to bring nature to all ends of the world and see it bloom.
He was a funny guy all things considered, even if it did feel like he had a few screws loose. He himself dabbled in potion creation but he tipped his hat to me when he saw the quality of my work.
In the end, I spent about a week with the guy listening to some of his stories and getting an incredible amount of assistance in locating ingredients that I could never find. The guy had traveled all of Ishgar and focused on the nature, so it was a huge help to me.
During out time together, I showed him my real identity and he showed no hint of a surprise. He stated that he knew I was under a transformation, as any competent and experienced mage should, and that he didn't mind since he could tell I wasn't an evil man.
When I gave him a questioning look, he just smiled kindly at me. It would seem I'm not the only one who has a unique way of reading people with my magic sensing.
And thanks to Warrod, my services were introduced to Draculos Hyberion, a truly humble man for his position as the number two of the wizard saints. And thanks to Draculos, I also got Wolfheim, the number three.
Wolfheim was kind of like a wild and stubborn old grandpa but he wasn't exactly mean or rude. Just stubborn and traditional in his thinking.
Those two don't know my real identity but they both said they didn't mind. They actually complimented me on staying hidden so well for they know the risks of my profession. And funnily enough, they often ask for potions old people might wish for. Back pains, feet pains, neck pains, it's kind of funny to be honest but Draculos is obsessed with some of my alcoholic creations.
(AN: Again, my fic, my rules.)
And to be direct, the wizard saints are not under the magic council of Fiore. They represent the strongest mages of Ishgar and have been jointly accepted into their position by the governing bodies of at least six votes. As long as six kingdoms accept, you can become a saint.
The magic council of Fiore can vote in Toma's place and put forth a recommendation, but they have no power over the saints.
Add powdered ginger root and then heat on high for ninety seconds.
After the rulers, guild masters, and saints, I have three heads of wealthy merchant families, including the Heartfilia's where Lucy's father is the boss, and two equivalent families.
And I have a five random but loyal clients without big names. (AN: NPC's)
And the final two regular VIP's are an interesting duo.
The first is Yajima, a member of the magic council and the contact for me and Toma on the inside. He's a cool old man and was completely willing to help Toma when asked. He only asked the king to be lenient on Fairy Tail for the trouble they cause but Toma only laughed and said he is quite fond of them.
The second is an annoyance that I can't exactly hate. It's Ichiya, the man among men. His perfume magic is the closest thing to my potions magic but his perfumes rely on his mana so it can't be given to others.
I met him when I met with master Bob as Katakuri, and boy was that a horror show, and unfortunately, the man got my scent. After that, he kept popping up in cities I would go to with his 'Men' 'Men' 'Men' speech impediment and I couldn't take it.
I flipped the table, the street under the table, and the bed rock, and then buried him underneath it all. Once I calmed down, I gave him a VIP card and left.
Altogether, I have 25 VIP clients.
Finally, condense the mixture inside the cauldron and wait for the final moment to pour mana inside.
For premiums I'm only at five for the moment but I count them separately from the other 25. Toma and Warrod make up two, the other three are more of friends my age and I..
*Bang!*
"Yo! Bitch boy! Where you at?!" (?)
I sighed at the voice who slammed my front door open.
'*sigh* why do I hang out with him?'
"I'm on the balcony sparkles!" (Dante)
A flash of lightning occurred to my side and I heard the voice much closer.
"Ohoho~ Calling me that so quickly. *Crack* you must have been feeling bored without a sparring partner." (?)
I gave him the finger as I finished the last step of my potion and watched it flash in completion before I stored it properly with a label for its client. Then I turned fully to greet my guest.
Standing at around five foot ten, with dark rimmed stormy grey eyes, a lightning bolt scar going over one eye toward his cheek, and shoulder length spiky blonde hair reminiscent of his great grandfather, was a sixteen year old Laxus Dreyar, my first real guy friend or bro in this world.
Laxus was wearing his customary magic headphones around his neck but contrary to his large framed mature self, he was still a bit on the thin side with baggy pants and a double layered shirt. (AN: It's the image from the flashback when Laxus was yelling at Makarov for excommunicating Ivan. Manga chap 119, page 13 – 17)
I cracked an eye at his provocation but just smirked and ignored him to go sit down on my balconies circular couch.
"Good morning to you to man." (Dante)
Laxus's eyebrow twitched in annoyance at my reaction, the poor guy is so used to the Fairy Tail customary response of answering any challenge to brawl.
It was amusing watching his face contort in various emotions before he just sighed and sat down on the opposite side from me.
"Yeah, yeah, morning. *sigh* your lack of fighting intent throws me off man." (Laxus)
I chuckled at that and tossed him a bottle from the table in front of me.
"I told you many times already, you shouldn't leak intent unless you want your target to be ready for you. Hide your intentions behind a calm persona and strike quick and efficiently is the way to go." (Dante)
He scoffed at that.
"Bah! Screw that, it's more fun to get up in their face and see them rise up to the challenge or quiver and fuck off." (Laxus)
He raised an eyebrow at the bottle.
"Not that I mind, but are we drinking this early? I thought we had plans today." (Laxus)
I just waved my hand and enjoyed my own drink.
"It's fruit juice dude, I don't always drink you know." (Dante)
He opened his bottle before I even responded but just nodded at the taste. Don't let his tough guy image fool you, the guy has a weakness for orange juice.
"You don't always drink? That's like saying my guild has a grudge against alcohol." (Laxus)
I laughed at that. My years of drinking constitution potions have boosted my body to a level beyond normal mages already and into the territory of dragon slayers. My liver was enhanced, and I make many kinds of interesting alcoholic drinks so if it can't hurt me and it takes a lot to get drunk, why not right?
At least that's my reasoning. It doesn't help that Virgo has a high alcohol tolerance as well as a spirit so we kind of drink more during a week than most people could without dying of alcohol poisoning.
"Eh whatever, how you been bro? It's been a while since we last met up." (Dante)
"Not too bad, I'm recovering my reputation after that year of being banned from A class missions, but I'm still annoyed about the three year ban on taking the S class exam, I've been ready for a while now but I'm not suffering that much. Just bored is all." (Laxus)
I winced a bit at the memory of how he got that punishment.
I met Laxus a little over a year ago when I filed a mission for a S class mage to accompany me into a danger area called 'Thunder Mountain'.
I needed a type of bamboo that grows on the peak and absorbs nutrients from lightning striking down on it, but the entire mountain was crawling with giant thunder salamander type magic beasts. And that's not to mention the lightning that spontaneously rains down over the area in a random pattern.
Of course, I went as Katakuri but to my surprise, rather than a S class mage showing up, a fifteen year old Laxus appeared at the meet up location.
When I asked if he really was an S class, he assured me he had the abilities of one, but I realized that he pulled a Natsu move and stole a S class job.
Still, I didn't argue with him and set off considering I was pretty confident in my own strength anyway and just filed the mission for my peace of mind. It's always easier to let the S class do all the work since you're paying them.
Boy was I in for an eye opener because we got our asses beat.
The journey up the mountain was one thing but Laxus kind of screwed us over by killing some giant salamanders to get a challenge. It seemed the salamanders were more united than we thought and gathered in waves to hunt us all over the damn mountain.
When you include the lightning falling like rain which only Laxus was happy about, it wasn't a great time, and I lost my transformation early on.
Around six hours of running and fighting later, we were resting in a cave where we bonded a bit and shared some personal information like how Laxus was trying to prove he was his own man after Makarov excommunicated his father.
Unlike canon, or perhaps in tune with canon, Laxus fully understood how much of a bastard his father was. He never forgave him for forcibly implanting a dragon lacrima into his young ten year old self. And that's not to mention the fact that Makarov was more honest here and showed Laxus a few pictures of what was left of Ivan's 'experiments'. Many of whom were former civilians of Magnolia that he had seen before and even a couple members of his guild.
But he still wanted to prove he was his own man outside of Makarov's shadow. So, it led to him wanting to prove he was S class material and took the first mission he thought he could accomplish. Being a lightning mage, he figured a trip to Thunder Mountain was his pie in the sky.
And to be honest, his skills were actually past the bar for S class, he was an even match for me there. But unlike myself, he lacked experience and adversity to push him beyond his superficial arrogance of his strength.
So, getting his ass kicked on a mountain covered in his own element, one he could use as fuel to recharge himself endlessly, and seeing a guy your own age keeping up and doing slightly better than you was a nice wake up call for the guy.
Conversely, I told him who I was and why I hid my identity along with some of my experiences to get where I was, and we hit it off.
Looking back, it felt like just finding an equal in skill and age that he could be friends with was enough to divert him from his canon style path.
He was still a stand offish muscle head with a decent brain, but he wasn't as arrogant or high and mighty as he might have been.
To summarize the rest of the story, we made it to the top of the mountain, fought off the alpha lightning covered salamander as a tag team, got the bamboo which the alpha seemed to keep as it's favorite food, and bolted out of there as fast as we could.
After resting at a hot spring village nearby and getting bandaged up, I gave him a premium VIP card to stay in touch and we went our own ways after that. Laxus got grilled by his grandfather for taking a S class job and getting punished with the S class exam ban for three years and being limited to B rank jobs at the highest for a year which he took surprisingly well and didn't argue on much to his grandfathers' surprise.
We met up every once in a while to hang out, go on unrecorded jobs so he wouldn't get in trouble, and spar to push ourselves.
And out of all the people I have met, I only allowed a handful to come visit my home. The current five premium VIP members have all been invited over at least once with me sending a letter containing a temporary teleportation formation leading to the receiving formation carved into the ground in the courtyard in front of my home.
Toma I invited over when he needed a break and was interested in seeing my lab. Warrod was very interested when I told him about how I made a home inside a strangely large tree and complimented me and Virgo heavily for our design. He even used his magic to reinforce the bark of the tree just in case we damaged it while living here.
For those who don't know, you can carve the inside of a tree out without damaging it. The inner wood is not important for a tree to live as the bark and outer later is. The outer layer and bark take in nutrients from the world and take them down into the roots so the tree can stay alive and keep growing. So, Warrod reinforcing it was a nice gesture of him.
For the other three members, I had them over a couple times as close friends my age.
"Yeah, I'm not sorry you had to go through that. If what you told me of your personality before that mission was any indication, you needed a good ole fashion ass beating." (Dante)
Laxus scoffed at that but didn't argue. We just enjoyed our drinks and the sounds of the forest in the early hours of the day.
"So, you ready for today?" (Laxus)
I nodded at that and tossed my bottle into a trash bin at the side.
"Yup, I've been trying to find this dude for years and our buddy just so happens to bring him up one day while drinking. I wanted to strangle him, but I needed him to set up an appointment for us." (Dante)
He laughed at that.
"Hahaha, 'wanted to'? I remember the shit eating look on your face and the beating you gave him that night, it was legendary." (Laxus)
I waved a hand at that.
"Eh, more like the cleanup was legendary. In my anger, I forgot that he gets stronger the more he drinks, and we trashed the bar we were in. Unlike you two lazy bastards, I stayed behind to help clean up and pay for the damages." (Dante)
"Well sorry for not being able to drink that much and still be able to walk in a straight line let alone clean a wrecked bar." (Laxus)
I shrugged.
"Some of us have skills others don't." (Dante)
I laughed at the vein popping up on his forehead and changed the topic before he could get heated up.
"Have you got your design ready?" (Dante)
Laxus grunted in acknowledgment and laid back with his arms behind his head.
"Yeah, took a while to think of something but I have my design. It's nothing as big as what you're planning but I'm happy with it." (Laxus)
Laxus was here today because our bro had found the Ink-Make mage I was looking for and scheduled an appointment for all three of us today. The mage wasn't ecstatic about the idea of helping us get magic tattoos since he clearly knew the risks but with triple his going rates to do it quietly and forget it ever happened, he was on board.
"And the affects you chose?" (Dante)
"Protection from mind/control magic and increased affinity to my element of lightning." (Laxus)
I nodded at that.
"Good choices, an increase in affinity is something rare to come by and it gives you an all-around boost to your magic attributes. what do you think our friend will choose?" (Dante)
Laxus chuckled at the thought.
"I don't doubt him wanting the protection, after you told us about the idea, I saw him shiver just as I did at how easy it would be for mental magic to screw with us.
As for his second affect? Who knows? I would put my money on increasing his bodies resistance to toxins. With him, that would be the best kind of magic haha." (Laxus)
Once I thought about it, I couldn't argue with his hypothesis and agreed.
"Yup, I would put money on that one." (Dante)
Thanks to a special book I received that held an assortment of rune schemes specifically made for tattoos, all three of us could choose two boosts to receive from among the choices.
Laxus pointed his chin my way.
"And you man? You said something about boosting your senses?" (Laxus)
I made a kind of gesture with my hand.
"Eh, sort of. I told you of my magic sense ability right?" (Dante)
Laxus nodded.
"Well my second effect after the protection will be to boost my range and clarity for it. I did the math and I discovered I could at most fit in four boosts." (Dante)
Laxus's eyes widened at that.
"Four!? How big is the power scheme going to have to be?" (Laxus)
I winced at that question.
"Probably most of my back but it's worth it. I have been training my magic sense since the day I awoke my magic and in the last four years, my growth has slowed to a crawl compared to how I felt in the beginning. I want to take any chance I can to boost it or I won't have another opportunity in my life. It could take decades of natural training to match the effect of a single boost." (Dante)
And that wasn't a lie. The incredibly rare ability I awoke was amazing, but it seemed like as I went farther with it, my growth became harder and harder to see.
With my senses, I could currently see a third of the redwood forest, or the snake den, in my mind like an interactive map.
It's full of colors and moving shaped that signify the ethernano inside everything around me. It's like looking at the world in neon liquid colors and it's beautiful. However, my growth has stalled, and a month of effort only increased my range by an inch. The boost I found is something like a signal booster for magic sense users to increase their range and for whatever it means, the clarity of our sight.
Laxus whistled at my words.
"*Whistle* Damn bro, I hope you have a good design in mind. You're making me rethink my idea now damn it! How am I supposed to feel as a man if you get a massive tat and I get one that only covered my left pectoral and shoulder." (Laxus)
I shrugged and waved him off nonchalantly while getting up.
"Not my problem. This is a permanent onetime thing so make sure you make the design you want. I don't need to remind you of the risks." (Dante)
Laxus didn't bother moving and still responded as I was walking inside.
"Yeah, yeah. I'll take ten to make sure and meet you out front." (Laxus)
I chuckled at that.
'I hope so man, I don't want this to blow up in our faces.'
Magic tattoos can be incredible boosts for mages but damn if there aren't a lot of issues with it.
The reason this idea of a power boost for mages isn't that common is something I came to realize as I finished a very complicated rune scheme design.
You see, aside from the finicky aspect of using a tattoo to make a permanent magical effect on a mages body that turns people off from the idea, there are four main reasons.
One, like I explained before, you need to be able to trust that the person who made the rune scheme as well as the person inking it onto your skin don't mess up. They make a small error and your fucked and could possibly die from any bad side effects.
Two, what happens if you receive an attack that damages the body parts with the tattoos? If the rune scheme gets interrupted by a scar, it could all go to shit or possibly back fire on you.
Three, the power source. A magic tattoo will need mana to run. The problem is you can't turn off a tattoo. If you make the tattoos effect to strong, you will spend your life siphoning mana off into the tattoo whether you like it or not. Perhaps those with enough control like myself could cut the flow but there will be side effects.
And four, a quite annoying aspect, is that you can only do this once in your life without side effects cropping up. I'll explain the reason in a bit.
So, I had to solve all four of these issues to make my plan work.
How did I do that? Well, I am pretty intelligent, but I am no genius with letter magic. I am not some Uzumaki fuinjutsu master nor do I have a super computer for a brain nor an AI chip to assist me.
What I have, however, is an extremely good relationship with a dimension full of immortal beings. Some of which, have libraries.
The celestial spirits have been around since the beginning of this world and have seen or collected quite a lot of information.
Even with my relationship however, the spirit king still doesn't permit anyone other than the twelve zodiacs and a few special silver spirits to pursue the library for fear of disrupting the balance of the world. And even the zodiacs can't just go in and take anything to their masters, it was attempted once in the past and resulted in a very bad end.
On the other hand, he is willing to assist me with a few minor requests for knowledge like a rune scheme that I can use to solve my problems. He had one of his watchers of the library fetch me a book with a couple dozen magic tattoo designs back from a kingdom that relied heavily on them a few thousand years ago.
Thanks to the book and a good amount of back and forth experimenting with ideas for a couple years, I had a rune scheme that worked well for what I wanted.
And the best part was instead of having a bunch of runes tattooed on my skin, the runes would be hidden under whatever design I wished to use.
The book gave me a lot of good examples of the risks involved that this kingdom discovered through trial and error.
For example, going back to my reason number four of why magic tattoos are dangerous, they discovered it's for the best if you only receive them once in a lifetime and don't exceed two effects.
The reasons were that no matter how large the rune scheme design you use; it would take effect perfectly if issued correctly on the first inking.
After that however, no matter how many times they attempted it, every subsequent attempt to add another tattoo resulted in side effects being created from the tattoo's disrupting the mana flow through a mages body.
Some even caused death.
And if you tried to fit in more than two separate effects, it would cause them to come into conflict and all kinds of results could be born. It was recorded than some who tried three or four succeeded, but it was less than five percent.
I didn't feel like taking my chances on that.
Anyway, I shared the book with Laxus and our other friend and we all agreed on doing it together. Well, I was going to do it either way, but they didn't want to let me be the only one getting a boost in strength. I had already proved to be ahead of them in our spars.
Cleaning myself off with my magic for a quick wash, I headed up into my room to get changed to go out.
My expanding closet was full of organized clothes that Virgo not only keeps buying for me but neatly arranges in rows so I can choose whatever I wish.
The incredible maid she is doesn't seem to understand that I more than I can possibly wear but I won't stop her if it makes her happy. I'll just return her efforts by drowning her in clothes and affection. And my choices are fun like a bunny girl outfit or a lineup of swim suits.
While enjoying that thought, I got dressed in my usual style these days when I go out in my normal form rather than as Katakuri.
I put on a dark blue form fitting yet slightly baggy hakama style pants that tie around my waist with good combat boots hidden from view.
Over my torso, I wore a silvery white colored kimono style open torso shirt that accentuated my frame nicely and slightly showed my muscled chest while having large sleeves that allowed me to hide my hands from view. It was less like a kimono and more like a martial arts Gi considering it was made of a strong material and had an enchantment that helps with temperature control.
You have no idea how quickly it can go from the most comfortable shirt in the world to the worst when you're sweating. I finally understand why Zoro from One Piece always removed his shirt when he fought after the time skip.
It was a design I started to enjoy for its freedom of movement, comfort, ability to hide parts of my body from view, and the fact that I can requip Starlight onto my hand and use it with only the keen and well prepared eye able to catch a glimpse of it.
And if it enhances my aristocratic look then why not. Virgo seems to enjoy licking her lips and sending me mental ideas of what she would like to do to me much to my annoyance.
Being given a boner before leaving for the day is never fun and I make sure to let her know that when we get back.
Today would be one of the rare days that Virgo is away on a day off with her friends while I was going to hang out with some of my own.
Despite being in each other's presence for around eighteen hours a day for six days a week, we never really get tired or annoyed. Even my pet dog in my last life didn't want to be around me that much.
Sometimes Virgo takes her day off and other times she never leaves and just wants me to spoil her. I take her on dates as well but only if she dresses up in normal clothes. Thanks to her reputation, as soon as people see pink hair and a maid outfit, taking her out to public places becomes impossible.
Rumors of her deeds spread outside of the circles of the underworld and into the public but somehow, there hasn't been any word of someone wanting to confront her. It's like a large hand or an organization in the shadows silenced any trouble it could have caused. Logically I knew I was overthinking it, but my gut always said I should pay more attention to something.
But anyway, Virgo and I have a special bond.
It's one of love and trust but she seems to take the fact that I'm mortal seriously and insists that I create a harem much to my amusement.
She says she can't be a proper mistress if I don't have wives for her to tempt me away from. She's also bisexual and is more than open to adding more women to our bed.
It was a proud day for me as a man when an immortal celestial spirit told me I was making her hips sore and that we needed more women to handle my growing vitality.
It seemed that with my constitution potions increasing my body in all the physical ways, it also increased my vigor. Still, Virgo only gets turned on by the pain and ends up jumping me all over again so it's a vicious cycle for her.
As for the idea of adding more women, I wasn't going to push for it. If things happen, they happen, but I'm not in any rush and I'm enjoying my life as it is.
"Yo! Dante! Get a move on or were going to be late!" (Laxus)
Laxus's voice drifted in from outside and broke me from my thoughts.
'Right, tattoos now, thoughts on sex later.'
Meeting with Laxus out front, I pulled out my magic carpet and jumped on with him right behind me and took off for Oshibana town.
Thanks to my trained magic sense, I could fly us right out of the natural barrier of fog without issue.
Right after we left however, Celeste and Blu spotted us from above and came swooping in to say hello.
*Caw!*
*Chirp!*
"Haha! Hey girls, did you miss me?" (Dante)
The fact that they were tightly wrapped around me and butting their large heads into my face were a clear indication of that.
"Hey, I feel no love over here." (Laxus)
Laxus mock pouted and Blu broke off slightly to go say hi.
My guests, the few I've had, had to be introduced to my children before I could allow them to stay longer than a few hours or they would have been smelled by them and hunted down.
As long as I introduced them though, my kids ignored them whenever they showed up or came to say hi if they liked them.
Laxus was a fan for the female Occamy interesting enough but only Ed was friendly with him for my other kids. The rest simply didn't bother with him. But then again, Ed likes anyone I say is a friend.
"We can't stay for now girls, but I promise to come see you tomorrow or the day after alright? How about I come visit your nest?" (Dante)
*Chiiiirrpp*
*Chiiirrpp*
It took some coaxing and heavy petting, but I managed to get them to let us off for now.
"Haha, your kids are still incredible, but damn do you spoil them." (Laxus)
I stoically turned away from him.
"You get your own kids and let's see how well you fair." (Dante)
Laxus choked on that thought.
"Fair enough I suppose. The thought of having kids, no matter the species kind of scares the crap out me right now." (Laxus)
I nodded at that.
"Yeah, it wasn't easy at first but thankfully I had Virgo. I would be hopeless without her." (Dante)
Laxus smirked.
"How's the little mistress been?" (Laxus)
I shrugged.
"I can ask her to come by if you want. She might not be happy to have her time off with her friends interrupted but she would come." (Dante)
It was fun seeing his face pale.
"No! *Cough* no, it's alright man. Let's keep the maid of terror appeased. I just wanted to know how you guys have been." (Laxus)
I laughed at his reaction.
"Haha were fine bro, I'll tell her you said hi." (Dante)
He grunted in response.
Laxus would never admit it but he has a slight fear of Virgo. On the second time I met him, Virgo came with me and Laxus ignored her and tried to instigate me to spar with him before Virgo could understand he was my friend rather than a threat to her master.
An epic beatdown later, I had to stop her from pulling out any S&M tools or removing Laxus's pants to issue punishment.
He was traumatized for life and although she apologized for her rash actions, he will still desperately avoid trying to get on her bad side.
With us high enough in the air and the bottom of the carpet made invisible by the enchantments, I pulled out a small table with a couple bottles of Honninbrew Mead and two glasses.
"Well, we have a couple hours to get there, let's start our day with something on the light and sweet side." (Dante)
Laxus gave me the finger.
"Yeah, ok, your idea of a light drink can put a grown man under." (Laxus)
Despite his words, he didn't hesitate to pour himself a glass much to my amusement.
"Shut up, it's not my fault you make the best damn ale I've tasted. I want to hate you and thank you for making me have cravings for your alcohol while finding regular ale to taste like shit, so I go longer without drinking back home." (Laxus)
As a proud potion master, I am also a proud alcohol brewer or distiller. Well, to be fair, my magic is a help, but all my results are thanks to the cookbook on drinks from the distant past that Virgo gave me as a gift a few years ago. But I made it into a fun hobby to play around with the process and change up the flavors.
My basement is pretty much dedicated to storage and alcohol making.
"Ha, I'll take that as a compliment." (Dante)
He looked like he couldn't find anything to say back until a minute later, he smirked.
"Oh, and I should probably warn you. I think I accidently set a blood smelling shark after you." (Laxus)
I raised an eyebrow in question at that and he elaborated.
"Last time we met up; you gave me a couple bottles of different drinks to take home since I was complaining about regular ale." (Laxus)
I nodded.
"But what you don't know, is that a certain big time drinker in my guild managed to swipe a bottle from me when I wasn't looking and almost tore my head off trying to get me to tell her where I got it from. She has the balls but usually wouldn't have the interest to try and manhandle me of all people in the guild but when it comes to booze, all gloves are off apparently.
I ignored her of course but she kept coming back like a bear that smelled honey. In the end, I realized you already hid your identity, so I threw your name of Ouroboros under the bus and directed her to my gramps who is a VIP client of yours." (Laxus)
Hearing his story made me sigh tiredly and pull out my journal. I do sell alcohol for VIP clients in small amounts of a couple bottles when I make too much, but I didn't realize how much people in this world are obsessed with booze.
My reputation almost doubled overnight when the drinks I make made it through all the circles. But on the other side, I had to deal with rabid alcohol enthusiasts who would do anything for another bottle.
'I'm a potion master damn it! I only make alcohol as a hobby!'
Opening my journal to a certain page dedicated to writing down names of the more extreme type of people who are trying to hunt me down for various reasons, I asked.
"Name, profession, and age?" (Dante)
I had a pretty good idea of who it was, but I was hoping an eleven year old wouldn't be that heavy of a drinker.
Laxus smirked and held up his empty bottle. I rolled my eyes and pulled out two more for him to keep. The majority of S class mages in this world have some form of storage magic. Those with space affinities use small requip spaces while others use other methods such as small space enchanted bags which is a thing here.
"Cana Alberona, Card Mage, and fourteen years old." (Laxus)
I paused in my writing at her age.
'Fourteen? Wasn't she supposed to be eleven?... wait, that's not the main point.'
"How the hell is a fourteen year old girl that heavy of a drinker!" (Dante)
Screw canon logic, did the rest of the fucking elders in the guild just ignore a young girl drowning in alcohol before their eyes?
Laxus shrugged at that one.
"I don't know what to tell you man. She has been strangely obsessed with ale ever since she first tried it. My gramps and a few others have tried to get her to stop but we only managed to limit her intake. Every time someone attempted to ban her from it, she just went to extreme lengths to get a drink so everyone decided to oblige her but keep her in their sights so they can at least limit her.
It worked in the beginning but after she started putting down grown men in drinking contests, I think the old timers pride got the best of them.
Anyway, just know you have a 'I would sell my father for booze' type of girl coming after you." (Laxus)
I choked at that last line.
'Damn if that isn't an accurate statement. Her drinking problems are a result of her frustration at herself and Gildarts. Maybe I can do something about it? Who knows, it's not my problem right now.'
I just added her to the list while Laxus tried and failed to peer over my shoulder.
The journal was made by the holy god Truck-Sama. If anyone tried to read it without my permission, they would just see blurred lines. Even Virgo can't read it if I don't allow it.
"What the hell is that book made of!" (Laxus)
I laughed and put it away while pouring myself another drink.
"It's just enchanted strongly. Anyway, let's speed up a bit, I want to get there before we finish these bottles." (Dante)
I poured more mana into the carpet and its speed increased a notch higher. It protects it's riders from high winds so it's not always easy to tell how fast you're going.
Laxus scoffed at my words.
"Yeah, good luck with that one. You might as well be the big brother of that girl I talked about." (Laxus)
I just ignored him while flipping him off much to his amusement.
A couple hours later, we arrived in the town and Laxus directed me to a shop in an out of the way back alley.
"How the hell did he find this place? The alleyway is so narrow, only a single person could walk through at a time. And the other shops here are just as off putting by their names to customers.
Small's Perfumed Parchments, Scented Sorcery, Walaric's Cloak Boutique, Wild Wizardry, Spotless Scrolls, Dreux's Blissful Botanics, Untested Trinkets.
Who the hell would want to come around here?" (Dante)
Laxus shrugged.
"I don't know man; I think Wild Wizardry sounds like something that he would be interested in. As for the rest, I'm just as weirded out as you." (Laxus)
*Jingle*
Just as we reached our destination, a shop by the name of Inkjection, the door to Scented Sorcery opened and a face I did not want to see appeared.
I grabbed Laxus and moved at my top speed, which is enough to leave an afterimage, to get inside the store.
"*Sniff* *Sniff* That parfum!" (?) (AN: For the record, this guy says Parfum, not Perfume. Parfum is the French word for Perfume. Why he says it? Idk, a man's romance I guess? For this man is assuredly a man among men.)
And I wasn't fast enough to cross ten feet of distance with my top speed before the mystery man's nose could detect me. To be fair, he probably smelled me before he even left the store, his skills aren't a joke.
I whispered to Laxus.
"Dude, knock me unconscious, pretend I just insulted your pride!" (Dante)
Laxus quirked an eyebrow before smiling and slugging me and causing me to fly back into a wall.
*Crash!*
Letting myself fall down, Laxus flashed to me and threw me over his shoulder.
He whispered back.
"We both know I can't knock you out in one hit you freakishly durable monster. Play dead." (Laxus)
"Oh no! My friend! What injustice has been brought upon your masterful parfum!" (?)
I played dead and let Laxus handle this one.
"Hey Ichiya, Dante here is taking a quick nap. What brought you around these parts?" (Laxus)
Laxus attempted to change the topic and subtly start walking back to the door.
Ichiya eyed us both seriously and did a quick pose before answering.
"Men, I was refilling some of my important ingredients for manly parfums at this wonderful shop. And not to worry young Laxus, I shall assist Dante in waking." (Ichiya)
His eyes flashed with a holy light and he grabbed a sickly yellow colored vial from his jacket.
"Perfume magic! Manly armpit smelling wake up Perfume!" (Ichiya)
I'm not ashamed to say I used almost all my force to kick away from Laxus's shoulder to avoid the smell while pushing Laxus back into the wall I crashed into earlier.
* Crash! *
"Ah! I'm up! What a wonderful nap. Oh, Ichiya my friend, is that you?" (Dante)
"Men! What a wonderfully powerful wake up. *Spin* *Finger pose* My friend, Dante, it is wonderful to see you once more. Your parfum is as manly as ever." (Ichiya)
Laxus groaned and pulled himself out of the rubble. He gave me a small glare but still nodded in thanks for helping him avoid that horrific smell.
I struggled for a second to find a response.
"Er.. yeah, it's a surprise to meet you here." (Dante)
Laxus spoke up.
"Not to be rude here but we have an appointment to keep." (Laxus)
I nodded.
"Right! It was nice to see you Ichiya, but we should be going." (Dante)
Ichiya did a spin and looked at the shop before tilting his head in thought much to my horror.
'Oh no.'
"*Spin* *Point* Men, you two are aiming for such a manly goal. I must accompany you and show my pride as a man!" (Ichiya)
I sighed and looked at Laxus. We shared a shrug and just let it go.
"It's up to the owner I guess." (Dante)
With that, I ignored Ichiya's poetic response filled with the word 'Men' and Parfum' and just walked through the door with Laxus on my heels.
"Yo! What took you guys so long?" (?)
Inside the shop, what greeted us was a tattoo parlor you would expect to see. Grey hard wood floors, swiveling leather chairs for clients, work tables holding bottles of different colored inks, and picture frames of different styled works that were made inside this shop.
The difference was that in the back was a small bar where the cashier was, and our buddy was waving to us while enjoying a drink.
Laxus scoffed as we approached him.
"Traveling with Dante might be quick, but you always run into shit along the way." (Laxus)
His tiny head nod to the side was noticed and our friend looked down to see Ichiya and almost choked on his drink.
"AH! This parfum! Young Bacchus, such a wild parfum you have as always." (Ichiya)
Bacchus's eye twitched at that, but he smiled anyway.
"Always happy to be called wild man, good to see you to." (Bacchus)
Before us was the second of my close friends, Bacchus, an already S class level mage at sixteen years old despite not getting the rank of one yet.
Bacchus is a tall, muscular, fair-skinned guy with straight black hair, which is slicked back and gathered on the back of his head, where it is kept in a Chinese style bun in a white strip of cloth. He has slanted eyes marked by dark lines, with black pupils circled by lighter irises, each bearing five irregular black forms below it, and which are topped by black, arched eyebrows.
Hanging from his ears is a pair of light brown earrings, whose shape is reminiscent of a gourd; an object which is commonly employed to drink alcohol, and which Bacchus himself carries around for such a purpose. He is the up and coming mage of Quatro Cerberus mark is located on the center of his muscular, exposed back.
He was currently wearing baggy pants along with Chinese style shoes, and Contrary to his future wardrobe of armor that goes from wrist to wrist over his shoulders, he just wore a pair of bracers and greaves that protected his forearms and shins.
I had met Bacchus much like I met Laxus except it wasn't that he stole an S class mission, but an A class mission was mislabeled. I needed a type of mushroom that grew underground in a place called the 'Mole Pit'. The place was inhabited by giant blind moles who moved around by digging through the earth and feeling vibrations around them.
The information we got was that it was only a single colony of moles and anyone who enters would be at risk of being attacked by a dozen of them or so.
What greeted us when we got there were hundreds. It was one of those moments when you're thinking you walked into a mid-grade dungeon only to get stared at by hundreds of empty pale eyes in the dark and realize you just fucked up by entering a much more dangerous place.
The mission happened much like the one with Laxus with us getting chased through the tunnels and fighting off what we could trying to find an exit. On the way, we bonded during our stops and became friends. It was only luck that I was able to find the mushrooms I came for during one of our pit stops.
He was actually a really chill guy and a great bro to have your back in a pinch. He does have an annoying catch phrase of saying 'wild' like the rest of his guild, but his version is toned down compared to the rest. Unless of course, you get into a fight with him and he goes into a skilled martial artist/berserker combo of being wild.
Bacchus got up and we exchanged a bro greeting of clasping one hand and bumping shoulders before we all took a seat at the bar.
"You ready for this?" (Dante)
Bacchus nodded.
"Hell yeah man, I've been amped up for this wild experience for a while." (Bacchus)
"What two options did you decide to go with? Dante and I have a small bet on it." (Laxus)
Bacchus smirked at that.
"Mind/Control protection and Reflex enhancement." (Bacchus)
Laxus and I groaned.
"Damn, we both guessed you would go for organ enhancement to boost your liver." (Laxus)
He laughed.
"Nah man, a wild guy like me can handle my drinks on skill alone. Besides, if anything happens, we have our golden goose here to whip me up something to cure or enhance my liver." (Bacchus)
My eyebrow twitched in irritation while Laxus nodded.
"True, he's a useful one to have around." (Laxus)
In response to them, I pulled out a smaller bottle and poured myself a glass of the 'Good' stuff causing a deep aroma to spread around and having their eyes zero in on the glass.
Of course, I only poured myself a glass.
Twirling it around, I internally chuckled as their eyes traced the golden amber liquid.
It didn't take long for Bacchus to break.
"Wo, wo, I didn't mean any harm you know? I was just pointing out that you got my back." (Bacchus)
Laxus held strong for a moment, probably considered taking the glass by force before reconsidering.
"*Sigh* You're a man among men, now give me that damn bottle." (Laxus)
I chuckled at their reactions and decided to be nice but midway in passing them the bottle, a nose was placed ON the open lid of the bottle.
"What a fascinating parfum! The combination of smells and ingredients work in perfect harmony with the rich mana to create an explosive symphony! Men." (Ichiya)
All three of us froze at the sight of Ichiya's nose almost literally inside the bottle at this point.
I think I heard glass break from those two and just blankly handed the bottle into Ichiya's hand.
"All yours man." (Dante)
I wanted no more of that bottle.
Ichiya turned to them.
"Ah, we must share this glorious creation amongst us!" (Ichiya)
Laxus and Bacchus looked like they took a sucker punch and looked pained to make excuses saying no much to my slight amusement.
A door swinging from the side caught my attention and I turned to see someone who almost gave me an internal heart attack.
Standing before me was a real life replica of Revy from Black lagoon, one crazy badass chick who would put a bullet through your skull if she didn't like the look on your face.
"What's with them?" (?)
The woman pointed her chin the other way where I saw Ichiya on the bar spewing something about sharing the bottle while they heavily rejected him.
I didn't let my internal moment show and calmy replied.
"Nothing, just arguing over booze. I would assume you're the owner of this shop?" (Dante)
She gave a smirk showing sharp canines and nodded.
"You got that right, the names Revy. And you're the dumb punk with a pair of brass balls that wants a magic tattoo. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since Bacchus vouched for ya, but don't make me come after you if he gets hurt. And I still expect triple my rates to keep this silent." (Revy)
(AN: I'm not great with names and to be honest, don't fix what isn't broken. I needed a badass 'don't fuck with me or you will get fucked up' type of tattoo artist. Revy fit and she would be less badass without her name.)
Revy was a tan-skinned woman of moderate height in her mid to late twenties with burgundy hair that she kept in a low loose ponytail with rather large bangs falling onto her forehead on either side. Amber-brown eyes adorned her face while she had a tribal tattoo that reached all the way up to her neck from her upper right arm.
She had a medium-sized bust and she sports a slightly muscular build that she doesn't conceal in the least in spite of her slender build.
She was dressed in a black crop top that leaves her stomach exposed, very short cut-off jeans, and combat boots.
I smirked right back at her and nodded.
"Not a problem, would you like to ignore the morons and talk shop?" (Dante)
She nodded and gestured me over to a work table.
"I'm going to say this from the start but while I know the risks about magic tattoo's, I'm not experienced in how to make the rune schemes. I'm just a tattoo artist with Ink-Make magic. You give me a design and I'll put it anywhere you want. Size won't matter to me but the more detailed it is, the more prep work we gotta do since you can't fuck this up." (Revy)
I nodded at that.
"Don't worry, I already have the workings figured out. I wouldn't risk my life without being sure of the research." (Dante)
Reaching into my requip space, I pulled out three large magic parchments.
One was filled in with what looked like hundreds of rune's forming a circle with five snake like branches flowing away from it. Four were a smaller size while one was massive.
The other two sheets had similar circle shaped rune schemes, but the rest of the parchment was blank.
The noise from the bar quieted down as the guys realized we already started and came over.
"These sheets are for us. The filled in one is for me, I worked on that for a while to make sure it was perfect.
For these two, I already knew one of the effects they would both want and prepared it but for the rest, I will write it now, it won't take me long at all. By the time you get the prep work done for mine, I'll be ready with their designs." (Dante)
Revy whistled at the sight.
"*Whistle*, damn boy. You really did come prepared. I'll give you point for this level of prep work. I can get this copied on to you perfectly, but I need to know where you want it and what designs." (Revy)
I explained my preference and she gave me an artist's appreciation for detail before telling me to shut up and let her do her job. It seemed my design got her fired up.
I turned to the other guys once she was busy.
"I'll start with Laxus's first, your 100% sure you want the lightning affinity enhancement right?" (Dante)
Laxus nodded.
"Yup, I made my choice, let's do this." (Laxus)
I nodded back and confirmed with Bacchus.
"And your cool with the reflex enhancement?" (Dante)
He gave me a thumbs up.
"Fuck yeah man, no going back." (Bacchus)
I nodded and turned to Ichiya who had been quiet so far.
"Ichiya, I know your probably confused here but what we're doing is dangerous. It's not illegal but it's just uncommon for the risks it can involve." (Dante)
I quickly explained the risks and steps I took to address it while I focused on drawing Laxus's rune scheme from a book.
I wasn't making it from scratch, I was just copying and pasting it. I had years to get my penmanship to the point of perfection with a magic Light pen all for this moment.
Ichiya took it all in and looked like he was thinking hard.
Just as I finished setting up the final pieces of Laxus's, an honest to god spotlight appeared from the ceiling where no lightbulb existed to land on Ichiya.
I almost fucked up the last stroke of the rune scheme in surprise.
"Ah! What a parfum! For you three to undergo such a danger to push yourselves farther on the path of a mage. What will! What courage! What men!" (Ichiya)
He performed seven consecutive spins, and yes, I counted, by habit and not by willing choice, and then finished with a flourish in a full body split with both hands pointed like finger pistols our way and a shining white toothed smile.
"You can count the handsome Ichiya in! I shall brave these dangers along with you!" (Ichiya)
I calmy placed the finished parchment for Laxus down and joined him and Bacchus in having soulless eyes that wanted to go get drunk and forget the memory that was just engraved into our eyes.
I didn't even look at him for fear of immediately requiping starlight and trying to spear him through the eyes, and just threw the book at him while speaking in monotone.
"Then pick two enhancements, I'll make your scheme after I finish with Bacchus's parchment." (Dante)
He gave me a salute and got to reading.
'Virgo.' (Dante)
'Yes master?' (Virgo)
'Do me a favor and just talk to me for a minute. I need your voice to soothe my broken mind.' (Dante)
There was a pause before she responded.
'Do you need me to come punish someone?' (Virgo)
I think I felt something crack in my own mind at the mental image of Ichiya being punished.
'No. For all the love in the world, please do not put that image in my brain. Just let me hear your beautiful voice.' (Dante)
Her tone was warm and loving in its response.
'Right away my master.' (Virgo)
For the next few minutes, I worked on Bacchus's parchment while Virgo healed my broken psyche.
I caught the guys out of the corner of my eye healing themselves in their own ways.
Bacchus was at the bar downing something clear with a heavy alcoholic scent that could have been moonshine for all I knew. And Laxus asked Revy if she needed any physical labor done for free to move his body and distract himself. She gladly had him moving crates in the back.
By the time I finished with the one for Bacchus, Ichiya had chosen.
He picked one that boosts his constitution, much like what one would get from drinking a few of my constitution potions (Of course I never gave them to anyone, they were a prized secret of mine) and one that would boost his hand eye coordination.
Apparently he has struggled for years with accidently causing chaos by dropping perfume vials or grabbing the wrong ones when he meant to use others. It's not like he forgot where he placed them but his coordination between his mind and his hands seem to be naturally off balance.
He improved on his own but it's something of a struggle to him.
Anyway, they were simpler designs to use and I didn't mind, it's his choice.
I had to use a different layout for his since the other three revolved around the intricate mental protection enhancement, but I got it done just as Revy was ready for me.
"Ok, are you ready for this kid? It's gonna hurt like a bitch, you know that right?" (Revy)
I grunted in acknowledgement and let my Gi fall off my shoulders to hang from my waist.
Revy whistled at the sight of my body. It was packed with defined and cut muscle with a beautiful symmetry. My muscles were gained from training and fighting with magical beasts, so they were shaped like ones meant for action and not just for show. My constitution potions also helped to align them perfectly so I didn't favor either side and condensed my muscle that would have been bulkier into a nice athletic frame. I had durability, power, speed, and flexibility without any one quality impeding the other.
There were also an assortment of thin scars over my torso from when magic beasts managed to clip me. I did my best to heal them with potions, but I couldn't make them entirely go away since most of those beasts had mana inside their attacks. It's harder to heal from those unscathed versus a normal weapon wound.
"*whistle* damn, let me buy you a drink after were done here. I'll show you a good time." (Revy)
I smirked at that.
"Not sure if you can handle me." (Dante)
Her hand clamped down on my shoulder and pushed me into the clients' chair. She was stronger than she looked.
As she strapped me down with my front facing the spine of the chair and my legs straddled it, so my back was completely open to her view, she whispered into my ear.
"Oh, you would be surprised what I could handle stud. Now clench up, this is going to sting. If you want a chance with this ass, don't scream like a little bitch in my shop." (Revy)
I chuckled at that while checking out said ass before inhaling sharply as she got to work.
"Ink-Make: Tattoo layout." (Revy)
Her magic got to work laying a skeleton image from the parchment I gave her onto my body.
It started with the center of my upper back and spread out from there with four identical strands of runes spreading with two going over my shoulders and onto my upper pectorals and the other splitting up to going around my sides to sit over my abdominals. But the most pain came from the massive number of runes being outlines up and down my back.
She was literally pulling the ink off the parchment to land on my skin and because I wrote those symbols with heavy amount of mana, it felt like someone was scraping a blade over my skin and connecting with the mana pathways in my spiritual body.
Thankfully, it didn't take long but her next words pretty much tied a chain connecting my hope to a cannonball and dropping said cannonball in the ocean.
"Good, the easy part is done. The next part is where the pain comes in." (Revy)
I gave her an annoyed look, but I didn't make a sound so far. She chuckled at me.
"Don't look at me like that, you knew what you signed up for. If it makes you feel better, it turns me on seeing your muscles unconsciously flexing from the pain while covered in blood." (Revy)
I rolled my eyes at her as her hands trailed over my body sensually with a cloth to wipe off the blood.
'You expect that to make me feel better? Well, I guess it does but fuck this is going to hurt.'
My voice came out a bit rougher than intended.
"You won't be able to walk in the morning." (Dante)
She gave me a fierce smile at that, and her voice was quite sensual in its reply as she pressed into my back.
"Oh, you know just what to say to a girl to make her all hot and bothered." (Revy)
Then she shoved a piece of wood between my teeth and she was all business like a flipped switch.
"You ready?" (Revy)
I nodded and closed my eyes to calm my mind.
The guys were at the bar keeping their distance and watching so they weren't able to hear what we were saying but they were able to see just fine.
"Is it just me or does that look like she's flirting with him?" (Laxus)
Bacchus laughed and nodded.
"She is. You might not recognize her, but Revy is an alumni of my guild. She's a real wild chick and she has a thing for dangerous warrior types. Few can claim to have attracted her attention since she doesn't like weak men but the few that did? They had broken hips in the morning hahaha! Dante is in for a wild ride if she wants him." (Bacchus)
Laxus grunted but didn't share that laugh.
"I wonder about that, remember which one of us has the strongest constitution? I have a fucking dragon slayer lacrima in me and he tops me, the annoying bastard. I wonder who will come out on top of that wild ride between those two." (Laxus)
Bacchus grew silent and mentally cursed Dante. Even he isn't willing to see if his bones could stand up to a wild woman like Revy.
Ichiya just listened and continued spinning and posing to the side in various ways.
I was learning a new meaning of pain at the moment. If I thought the pain from the first part was bad, the second one opened my mind to the possibilities.
Revy had to fill in the skeleton that she laid out with ink and it felt like molten lava was being poured into the spiritual body wounds she opened up with the outline.
At first I just felt blinding and burning pain and clenched down on the wood in my mouth to the point it made worrying cracking sounds while Revy continued to work.
"Hang in there killer, you're taking this like a champ so far, I know men three times your age who would be screaming for their mothers at this level of pain." (Revy)
I couldn't respond even if I wanted to. I was using all my will to push down the wave of pain trying to make me shout out.
The process took close to three hours and even Revy was sweating a storm at the effort required. It wasn't just the amount of ink she had to create but it was the detail that was so important and time consuming.
One small slip up from her and I was fucked. Thankfully, she was a professional with a fierce personality of a lioness who didn't fuck up at her job, her pride wouldn't allow it.
My body was drenched in sweat and blood from the process and I had long since bit through the wood in my mouth and spit it out. I replaced it with a knife from my requip space and the metal held on, albeit with indents from my teeth.
Revy was breathing heavy as she leaned her wonderful chest into my aching back, creating an experience of heaven and hell for me, and caught her breath.
If she shuddered a few times during the last couple hours while grinding her hips slightly into me, I didn't say anything, I was already covered in other liquids so who cares.
"Holy fuck killer, I can't believe you actually kept your silence through all that. I was just teasing you before but you actually fucking did it." (Revy)
I didn't move from the chair, but I tiredly chuckled in response. She shivered as the vibration from my body hit her painfully erect nipples that were pressed into my back.
She pulled back slightly, and I felt another feeling a warm wetness on my lower back before she laughed and slapped me hard of the back causing me to grunt in pain.
"Oh yes, I'm gonna ride you like a stallion tonight. But first, let me finish my work and give you a masterful design you rightfully earned." (Revy)
She took a breath before activating her magic once more.
Ink flowed over my body but this time the pain was like a tickle compared to before. The ink was flowing over the runes to cover them up with an artistic design rather than leaving me covered in symbols.
When she pulled back, the guys had come over from the bar to appreciate the finished product.
"*Whistle* Damn that's wild." (Bacchus)
"*Tch* should I go with a bigger design after all?" (Laxus)
"Ah, what a masterful work! Such a skillful parfum!" (Ichiya)
Revy pulled back and stood up on wobbly legs to move around me and get a full close up look to make sure it was perfect.
She smiled at the sight.
"I'll congratulate you for getting me all wobbly through foreplay alone and showing a real pair of steel ones on ya. I think you will be happy with the final result." (Revy)
I pushed myself off the chair with a minor groan and had to do a quick stretch causing my spine to have a pop all the way down.
"Ahhh, I really fucking needed that." (Dante)
Revy smacked my shoulder.
"So did I. It's gonna be a sleepless night for us killer." (Revy)
I smirked at her and moved over to the mirror while thanking her.
"Next one up if you blondie! Get over in that chair, this one needs to be cleaned. I'm gonna take ten to grab a drink and I'll get to work on you. Yours will be faster considering the size." (Revy)
Everyone laughed at her teasing words which held double meanings aside from Laxus who was heavily debating changing his mind on the design.
She was a fun woman, and her actions, while wild, weren't actually an attempt to dominate me so I allowed them.
She's like a lioness showing her fierceness and interest. It wasn't one who was possessively trying to claim you or dominate you.
Some girls are just wild like that and like it more on the rough side. If she wants some rough play, I am happy to oblige when were alone.
Reaching the mirror, which was set up to allow people to see their back, I stared in satisfaction at the final result.
An artistically designed large Ouroboros symbol of a snake eating its tail sat smack in the center of my upper back with a wicked potion design sat inside the circle. Plant like vines crawled along the potion's body and poisonous looking thorns stuck out from the snake.
Outside the circle, the tail ends of five snakes came right up to it but didn't touch. The tips were just barely off the circle.
Two of those snakes coiled up and around my shoulder before resting with one below each of my collar bones in the incredibly detailed design of a Runespoor.
The idea was that including my actual head, I made up the image of three heads of a Runespoor and the eyes of each snake had a glow to them like they were hunting their prey.
To each of my sides, a snake pattern stretched over my sides and rested on my abdominals.
One was a beautiful Occamy and the other was a deadly Horned Serpent. The detail put into each one was a work of art and clearly caught the image of each snake. They were both bearing their fangs and looked ready to pounce.
And on my back, or I guess I should say, on my ENTIRE back, was one incredible piece. In the image of my eldest, a massive, winged serpent entwined my back covered in pieces of thunderous storm clouds that pocketed any uncovered skin. It even got the tops of both my arms up until my lower shoulder in the design.
The entire piece was tastefully designed with a mix of blue, red, and mainly black with an assortment of smaller sections where a few other minor colors were used.
Revy strolled up to me with a towel around her neck while drinking a bottle of chilled water and smirked at my expression.
"What do you think? This is honestly some of my best work in the years I've been doing this." (Revy)
"Hm.. I'm not sure what to say, I feel like I owe you more than just triple your fee." (Dante)
She laughed at that.
"Don't worry, you can cover the rest tonight and maybe some other times I need to scratch that itch if you perform as well in bed as you did with this." (Revy)
I laughed right back.
"Haha, but really, thank you Revy. This is more than even I hoped the final result would look." (Dante)
She hummed in pride at that before her face took a more serious look.
"The compliment is nice, but you didn't come here for just a good looking design. How's the enhancement?" (Revy)
I shook my head at her.
"I don't know. After getting it done, I have to jumpstart it with my mana before it can do anything." (Dante)
She patted my shoulder before walking away.
"Well take all the time you need, there's a back room you can use for some privacy, but I want to know the result by the time I'm done with blondie over here." (Revy)
Laxus got annoyed at that.
"Oi! I have a name you know!" (Laxus)
Revy raised an eyebrow.
"And? Why should I care?" (Revy)
He turned red at that while we laughed again, and I spoke up before he did something stupid.
"Relax man, she hasn't called any of us by our names. She's just one of those people." (Dante)
Revy gave me a thumbs up.
"I'm glad one of you gets it!" (Revy)
Laxus subsided and I walked past him to get to the back while patting his shoulder sympathetically and handed him a clean knife.
"This is better than the wood." (Dante)
He wordlessly took it and nodded thankfully.
Bacchus just kicked back and laughed at all the byplay.
They all wished me luck as I went into the back.
As soon as I locked the door of a small room with a window, a bed, and s small table, I put a hand against the wall and took deep breathes.
'Mother of fucking… that was actually the most painful thing I've ever experienced till now. And that's saying something coming from a guy who suffered through the constitution potions for over two years.'
I didn't want to show it in front of the others, but I felt drained as all hell at the moment.
Still, I got my shit together and focused before drinking a high quality mana and then stamina potion.
'It's probably best to do this elsewhere.'
Gathering some of my blood on my fingers, I drew a teleportation formation on the wall.
Around a year ago, I made a small breakthrough in my teleportation problem.
I could use my own blood to create a temporary link with a location to my home point in my courtyard so I could jump back and forth.
Unfortunately, it had its own issues.
One, I have to use my own blood, not fun but doable. Two, it doesn't last long, an hour at most. Three, it takes a few minutes to set up, so it isn't combat ready. Four, I need to be standing still to use it. And five, if anyone was skilled in letter magic, specifically rune schemes, they might be able to use it.
But even with all its limitations, at least I can go and come back versus how I've been stuck with only being able to go back or invite others with a temporary letter than can only bring them to my home point.
The home point has been my limitation, and this was the first breakthrough I made with sending myself anywhere else.
Finishing the layout, I activated it and was gone in a flash.
When I appeared in my familiar courtyard, my shoulders sagged in relief at the feeling before I squared them and made my way inside to clean myself off with a quick bath. I could use my magic but sometimes it's nice to just soak.
After that, I changed into fresh clothes and climbed the staircase to the top of my tree and came out onto the rooftop balcony among the treetops.
I smiled at the view of the forests and beyond into the mountains when a soft trill was carried to me over a light breeze.
I gave a warm wave to the massive tree where my eldest had just sent a greeting from and sat down in a meditative pose.
It was time for the moment of truth.
I took a few deep breathes and focused my mind.
Peering inside myself with my magic sense, I could see the changes.
My bodies mana pathways were undamaged, and my core still remained in the center of my being close to my heart, slowly absorbing ethernano from the world and storing it as mana inside my core to flow through my pathways.
What was new, however, was the inactive artificial looking mana pathways with that were greyed out.
That were on the back of my spiritual body and connected to one main point that looked like its own mana core and branched out from there to connect to five clusters.
The grey artificial mana pathways were latched on to my actual pathways and interconnected but they were blocked off and waiting for me to push mana through to activate them.
Like starting a cold engine, I had to rip and tear it.
With a deep breathe I winced slightly as I pushed mana toward the artificial core while each time I tore through a barrier in the mana pathways, a slight sting traveled up to my pain sensors.
It was like new nerves in the body being connected to your main system.
I watched as my mana traveled in loops through all the tube like pathways and reached the core. I had to keep a steady flow up and within a minute, the core looked like it was flashing like a flickering screen before it came online.
That's when the change happened.
As soon as it turned on, I sucked in a deep breathe at the feeling of ethernano flowing into it and being converted into mana.
I just started an autonomous second magic core that would run all on its own to fuel the other effects. Even if someone clapped anti magic cuffs on my wrists, they wouldn't be able to do anything about that second core. They would have to wrap my body in anti-magic chains to have an effect and I would pay to find anyone who has that much of that rare metal.
'Wait, was that a flag?'
Ignoring that thought, I focused and felt the mana continue to build in the core before like a damn overflowing, mana fueled into the main branches of the rune scheme and moved like high pressured water into six separate points.
The first point was right above the core. This was an intricate rune scheme and the main reason we were all stuck with two enhancements.
It was something the kingdom who studied magic tattoos had to pay with a LOT of blood in trial and error for.
It was an effect that branded the enhancements of the tattoos into the astral body of the wearer. What this means, is that even if I am physically attacked and scared over the tattoo, the rune scheme will not be broken because the effect is no longer skin deep. The scheme is seeped into the spirit itself.
I had this effect double checked by the celestial spirits and they confirmed it.
A small side bonus of this is that if I were ever removed my body and entered a spirit form, I would still retain my enhancements.
The second point the mana pathways flowed to was at the ouroboros symbol. It lit up in a distinct color and started my always online, passive mental and control magic defense.
If any type of mental or control magic was attempted on me, the passive defense would flare up and fight the effect as a shield. The only limitation is that it requires me to keep it fueled with mana until the attack is stopped by the caster. It's basically me having to defeat the caster in a 1:1 mana contest and I wasn't afraid of such a thing.
The other four points were simultaneously activated since they were all the same thing, just with four boosts.
I small cheat to the rules of the rune schemes was that as long as you're using the same exact enhancement, you can safely use it as many times as you want. The downside however is that for each time you add one, the power source rune scheme has to be increased in size.
That's why to fuel four of these things, plus the mental defense, I had to fill out my entire back.
What these four enhancements was, were boosts to my magic sensing that I described earlier.
I literally felt the boundaries of what I was capable of sensing expand before my mental eye. From a third of the forest, I reached a half, from a half, I reached three fourths, from three fourths to the entire forest, and it kept going until I reached an area that could cover a third of Crocus. I could see a distance the size of a third of the forest outside the boundaries of the forest in all directions.
It was an incredible, almost godly feeling.
But then it all came crashing down as pain wracked my mind like I was just hit with a four ton hammer and blood spurted out of my nose and mouth.
'*cough* Fuck, I forgot to take into account the mental strain of so much information. *cough* I'm going to have to work on not giving myself a sensory overload again.'
It was only a minor injury, but I was happy with the result. My range expanded to an insane degree, a full four times my previous amount. Each boost multiplied my range by a factor of one, so my range is now permanently boosted by X4.
And now that I'm stimulated, my range will continue to grow at a normal pace and as a result, each extra inch I get will fall under the multiplication.
Taking a deep breath, I pulled out a towel from my requip space and wiped my face.
'Thankfully, I took off my top when I sat down. Otherwise I would have to change again.'
Taking a deep breath, I pushed past the aching in my head to once more tap into my magic sense. This time, however, I only covered the area around my home.
What greeted my senses was in one word, stimulating, and another, shocking.
Whenever I used my sense before this, I would get vague shapes and various colors based on the ethernano or mana flowing throughout everything around me. It allowed me to see the world in a beautiful otherworldly image and understand things I could never even begin to think of without experiencing it.
And practically, it helps with potion making, or any type of magic crafting. It helps with finding concentrations of ethernano around me to locate beings with specific mana frequencies. Like how Laxus lights up in a 'feel' or 'taste' that I know belongs to him and the same case for my kids.
Every being in this world has their own frequency that's given off by the ethernano inside them. Magical or not, ethernano is inside almost everything, so through my magic sense, I can identify and see them all.
It's a marvelous feeling and I was able to keep it passive for the most part. While passive, I would be aware to any dangers directed to myself, but I couldn't 'feel' for others.
For example, back in the alleyway before the store, I wasn't actively searching since cities always bothered me with how many frequencies are mixed up, so Ichiya was able to get the jump on me.
If I were actively searching, and I filtered through the other mixed signs, I would have picked him up long before I entered the street.
Now however, I would have to take some time to get familiar before being able to keep it passive like before.
Now, everything was so much clearer. It was like using the byakugan of the Hyuga in Naruto.
'This is going to take some time to get used to.'
I had to shut off the sense as my head was throbbing, but I was able to do one more sweep of my rune schemes before that.
They were all functioning perfectly and completely autonomously. I didn't have to do anything, and It would always be working on its own cycle.
I took a few minutes to stare up at the sky and clear my head before smiling in success.
This was a dangerous process, but I was confident in my chances being over 90%.
Making my back inside, I got to my lab and took a mind recovery potion from my cabinet and downed it. A wonderful cool feeling spread through my mind like an ice pack before the head pounding cleared up and I felt relatively normal again.
Grabbing a couple more for the others, I made sure to get a nice barrel of mead and hopped back over to the room.
All in all, I was gone at most forty five minutes.
I summoned a small water ball and washed the blood off the wall so there was no trace before unlocking the door and coming back out into the shop.
"Don't be such a baby!" (Revy)
I smiled at Revy's chastising voice.
Leaning sideways on the wall, I observed her finishing with Laxus and seeing him clench his teeth around the knife I gave him and grunting.
Considering I saw cracks on that metal blade, I didn't expect it back.
'I might currently have a stronger body than a younger Laxus, but dragon slayer magic enhances specific places much higher than the rest of the body.'
Dragon slayer magic increased the general durability of any user to inhuman levels but after that, each type seemed to specialize is a specific direction.
Laxus, even though he was a 2nd generation slayer, still had some scary strong jaws with sharp teeth.
I caught Bacchus's eye from where he was kicking back and watching Laxus with a smirk.
"How's he been doing?" (Dante)
He shrugged.
"No issues so far. Revy is too wild to mess up her job, but it seems she is unhappy with Laxus twitching more than you did." (Bacchus)
Revy heard that.
"Damn straight he is, for such a tough looking guy, he twitches more than I expected him to." (Revy)
I raised an eyebrow at that and looked Laxus over with my new magic sense and saw the issue.
"Ah, I think I can shed some light on that." (Dante)
Revy turned her head slightly to smile at me before refocusing. Laxus also twitched his eyes my way and I saw a hint of worry in his eyes that something went wrong.
"By all means killer, and it's good to see your still kicking." (Revy)
I smiled at her low key concern.
"Thanks babe. And Laxus, man, your fine. What's happening is that your enhancement for increasing your affinity to lightning is having an early effect.
Even before you jumpstart it, as it's carved into your body, I assume it would be like your nerves and mana pathways are being electrocuted. So, I can see why you're so twitchy. Hell, I bet your having trouble with your brain sending signals to your face to make the expressions you want." (Dante)
A loud grunt from him was my response but I saw in his eyes that he relaxed.
"Huh, didn't think of that one. I just thought he was a lil bitch under his tough guy persona." (Revy)
Me and Bacchus laughed at that while Ichiya surprisingly came to his defense.
"Non! Laxus has a young parfum, yes, but he is a man! His fierce parfum wouldn't be crushed by a paltry level of pain like this!" (Ichiya)
I felt my eyebrow twitch as his casual dismissive of the amount of pain involved and even Laxus gave him a look mixed between being thankful for having his back and to shut the fuck up.
Revy just scoffed and put my thoughts into words.
"Yeah ok, wait your turn and we will see how strong your so called will is. In my years, I've seen less than five that could take what that killer finished with and not make a sound of complaint. Blondie here did pretty good and didn't make more than a few grunts, but his twitching threw me off. Good to know he had some backbone in him though." (Revy)
It was funny seeing him try and glare at her only for her to simply increase the forced behind her moves until he looked away.
She was the type of woman to grab a guy by the sack during a stare down and dare them to not back down first. Guys have two balls, you don't want your stubbornness to make you lose one, god forbid two.
"So, Dante, how did the activation process go?" (Bacchus)
Revy and Laxus perked up at that question but she kept working.
"No issues on my end. It was an interesting experience for sure and I think I understand a lot of the 'why's' behind many or rules the book had now. The sense boost was rough though, I almost knocked myself out with brain damage from the sensory overload until I shut it down. Some good and intense training and I'll be better than ever." (Dante)
He nodded at that and got up to clap me on the shoulder.
"Congrats man, no one would say it, but we were all worried about you. Us three are getting more normal sized tats while yours was huge. You look like some badass mafia leader right now haha!" (Bacchus)
"I second that, but I'll add that it's sexy as fuck. It gives you one hell of a dangerous vibe and it gets my engine running." (Revy)
As she was finishing with Laxus, he was finally able to regain minor control of his mouth.
"CaN yOu PleaSE StoP FliRtinG BeFoRE FinishINg?!" (Laxus)
Revy tsked but didn't complain, she realized it was in bad taste as a professional as well.
Soon enough, Laxus was finished and Revy did a final look over before nodding in satisfaction.
Laxus had a tribal design that went from his left pectoral, up onto his shoulder, and down his arm up to about halfway to his elbow.
On his back was a circular cloud with a large lightning bolt going down his spine but not taking up much room along the rest of his back.
The cloud was his mental protection, and the tribal design contained the lightning enhancement. The lightning bolt was the power center like my winged serpent design, albeit much smaller.
I helped the guy stand up as his body was still twitching and guided him into the back room.
"Meditate and activate the rune scheme. Once it's fully on, you shouldn't have any more issues but try and avoid using lightning magic for today. Even a small jolt from you before could become a lightning pillar now if you are not careful." (Dante)
Laxus gave a thankful nod and I gave him a shoulder pat before heading back out.
Bacchus was up and he just laughed the whole time. When I asked him how he was ignoring the pain, he said he wasn't.
"You don't gotta *hic* ignore *hic* it. Just down some *hic* moonshine and *hic* you won't feel a thing!" (Bacchus)
I couldn't help but chuckle at his solution, but Revy pouted.
"That makes it less fun for me. Oh well, at least you're not twitching. You are swaying, however, so knock that shit off!" (Revy)
Bacchus is a very rare type of mage.
Remember when I said that mages don't usually make use of their passive ability to heal faster than civilians to push their physical bodies to the limit again and again?
For whatever reason, they stop or slow down at some point and focus on their magic.
Well, Bacchus is the opposite.
He was born with a very simple magic style, Palm magic, a magic that allows one to concentrate high amount of mana in their palms and release it like the Hyuga's of Naruto.
Yet, with such a simple and more common magic style, he became an absolute monster in close combat.
He not only invented his own style of martial arts by adapting a few that worked for him to create the Chop Hanging Palm style, but he broke his body again and again to build up his physical traits.
Even among other mages, he has immense strength, speed, endurance, and martial skill with a smaller focus on magic itself.
He is quite similar to me in using a weaker magic style to a higher extent, but he put all his time and efforts into nothing but physical training.
We are both sixteen at the moment, so the guy didn't reach anywhere close to his canon counterpart, but he is physically stronger than me.
I am more durable and faster, but he is stronger and has an endurance that can match mine.
In fact, the guy just drank moonshine not long ago and his body is already working its way through the insane alcohol content.
Unlike my body that counters alcohol as a toxin after I drink it, Bacchus's body is more human in that it has to fully cycle through his organs before his body reacts.
Therefore, it takes more to get me drunk but I'll stay drunk for a bit, while Bacchus can get drunk fast, but it will wear off quickly.
It makes for interesting nights out drinking between us and poor Laxus gets screwed over in between us monsters. Not to say he is a lightweight, the dragon slayer lacrima has heavily improved his constitution. He just needs a few more years to grow into his full strength.
Before Revy finished, the alcohol worked its way through his system, and he started groaning a bit.
"Oi, why not take a second to let me grab a drink?" (Bacchus)
He spoke through clenched teeth.
Revy gave him a fierce and slightly evil smile.
"Nope~, I am getting my satisfaction now. You can drink when I'm done. Besides, pain is the best teacher in life, this will remind you that you're doing something incredibly stupid and to be more careful in the future if you want to avoid such pain." (Revy)
I heard from Bacchus a bit ago that Revy was an alumni of his guild, so it didn't surprise me that she was actually worried about the guy. She must have known him for years by this point.
Fairy Tail couldn't be the only guild who takes in young strays right? Quatro Cerberus's guild master, Goldmine, was a past Fairy Tail member so I can see it happening.
Soon enough Bacchus was finished up.
What he got was a Chinese style yin-yang symbol on the center of his upper back with a design of a bamboo shoot straight down his spine with the four letters for 'WILD' interspaced along it, and its branches stretching over his shoulders to go straight down to his hands. Both arms had light patterns on them without looking like heavy tat. It was gentle, artistic, and badass.
I won't explain the tree and circle as it's the same as Laxus and I, but the branches down his arms were for the reflex boost. The guy was going to be scarily agile in the future.
I might be faster, but his reflexes will likely keep up with me, as long as he doesn't stop training of course. I like having friends but I'm not the type to slow down and wait for others to catch up.
They will be friends whatever their strength level, but I don't have the interest in slowing down for such a silly reason.
Bacchus wobbled a bit over to the bar, lightly kneed a bottle into the air to catch in his mouth and chug, and then crashed face first into said bar without moving.
"I'll just…. be here a little while… you know… until I can feel my arms again." (Bacchus)
Revy and I laughed at that; her eyes were warm as she looked at him.
"He's grown into a fine man. Still a young and inexperienced brat but he has a real warrior in him and it's starting to shine." (Revy)
I stayed silent and let my presence speak for myself.
Then she took a deep breath and popped her own back, giving me a wonderful view of her nice assets, and getting a smirk from her at seeing me check her out.
Hey, if she's going to do it, I'm not going to pretend like she isn't intentionally giving me a gift.
Women who dress or act slutty and then get mad at men for checking them out are hypocrites of the highest order.
You don't want a guy checking you out? Then, don't go flashing you goods sweetheart.
Revy here, she wasn't a slut, but she was pretty much treating everything after getting interested in me physically as foreplay before getting me in bed. Like a lioness playing with its food, and it was hot.
A confident women is the hottest type of women. Even Virgo, despite her maid kink, is secretly an incredibly confident women once you open her up. She was just subdued by wave after wave of crap masters in the past.
Events over a long period of time can do scary things to people, even immortals.
"Alright, one more break and we got the last job." (Revy)
We both turned to Ichiya who had been going through a few picture books on past tattoo designs. He picked his enhancements, but it was the design he struggled with.
"You ready buddy?" (Revy)
At her question, Ichiya snapped the book shut while his spotlight returned.
'That has got to fucking be some kind of magic style, like Dumbledore's eye twinkle thing.'
He did a rapid spin and finished in a pose with a rose appearing in his mouth and a finger gun.
"Men, Indeed I am! The parfum of your past works has awoken my artistic spirit! I have made my choice." (Ichiya)
He picked up one of the books, did a gymnastics style vault without said vault, and landed with the correct page open pointing in mine and Revy's direction.
"*Pft* Hahahaha!" (Revy)
Whereas she laughed, I felt that familiar feeling of glass breaking in my mind and emotionlessly spoke as I turned to the bar.
"Right, let's rewind time. I didn't see anything; I was at the bar drinking with Bacchus. Oh, and I broke out some of my good stuff." (Dante)
I didn't see anything. Nothing at all.
Revy was still holding her stomach laughing and I heard her speak up as I reached the bar. She followed in my direction to grab some water.
"Ahh man! I haven't laughed like that in a while. Come on you manly man, let's get your permanent tat done so we can all go out for the night." (Revy)
Ichiya nodded and spun.
"Men, your parfum is even more wonderful up close." (Ichiya)
She chuckled at the weird compliment.
"Thanks, but I'm taken for the night playboy." (Revy)
My drink was taken and downed rough but sensually by her as she passed and winked at me while my eyes were brought down to her swaying hips.
'Yeah, this will be a fun night.'
An hour later, and Ichiya was finished up just as Laxus came out of the back with his control back.
"Holy fucking hell, that was annoying. I learned a whole new meaning of what electricity can do to a guy." (Laxus)
I smirked at him looking mostly normal but tired.
"Glad to see your up sparky, how's the enhancement." (Dante)
He gave a battle hungry smile back.
"Oho, it worked wonders. I'm going to have to retrain my control but when that's done, me and you are sparring until one of us goes down. I want my winning streak back." (Laxus)
I raised a challenged brow at him.
"Winning streak? Have you been dreaming of our fights with different outcomes? I'm pretty sure it's 11-7 with me winning." (Dante)
He growled at that and his body unconsciously released sparks.
"Hey, it's not my fault it takes you a few beatings to learn to think things through. Maybe it's a dragon slayer thing that makes you have a thick skull." (Dante)
His rage only increased, and more sparks shot off.
"Them's fighting words." (Laxus)
I smirked at him and started releasing some of my own magical pressure. Bacchus woke up from his nap and unconsciously entered a battle state as well. He was always excited for a brawl.
"Men."
And just then, an unidentifiable fast moving object spun in between us and landed standing up on the bar with its customary spotlight.
"Men, behold, my magnificent and handsome parfum!" (Ichiya)
Within a three second interval, all three of us went from battle ready, to confused, to traumatized as Ichiya turned around to show his tramp stamp.
"*BLurg*" (Bacchus)
"MY EYES!" (Laxus)
'Virgo, my beautiful and adorable kitten, I love you. Never leave me.' (Dante)
Bacchus threw up, Laxus fell back while holding his eyes in pain, and my mind retreated to preserve its sanity and think of Virgo's image to run emergency repairs.
'I love you to master.' (Virgo)
Her voice transmitted back with enough warmth and love to soothe me back to sanity.
'Ahhh~ It's like dipping into a warm hot spring.'
As I came back into conscious focus, I heard hard laughter behind me and turned to see Revy on the ground.
"Ahahahah! That was gold! Ahaha! Three wild guys all about to brawl in my shop of all places! It was so worth it to have Ichiya do that! Ahahahaha!" (Revy)
I felt my eyebrow twitch at that and got up to try and help my comrades in suffering who didn't have incredible life partners mentally connected to them.
"Woman, I will break the bed tonight." (Dante)
She just smirked up at me between her laughter.
"If the floor is intact, I'll be disappointed! Hahaha!" (Revy)
I chuckled at that.
An hour later, with everyone having successfully activated their rune schemes and my two buddies having downed the mental recovery potions I brought along with a decent amount of ale.
We left for a night out on the town with Revy saying she would catch up with us after cleaning up.
Wanting to celebrate our brush with death and coming out alive, twice when counting Ichiya's grand reveal, we went to the highest class establishment in the town.
The Jade Palace.
A tastefully designed high class bar and brothel with a dozen floors. The women here were not whores per say but more of courtesans.
A courtesan traded sex and sensuality, but also was required to possess a daunting variety of other skills including singing, musical instruments, dancing, writing, drawing, magic, tailoring, and many more like tea ceremonies.
We got ourselves a VIP room on the upper floors and were seated at a beautiful room with an open wall to the night sky and table full of cushions to relax.
Off to the side were six bedrooms all equipped with a large bed and soundproofing rune schemes on the walls.
Seven courtesans came in bringing us food and drinks that we ordered. It was a feast for our celebration and I already paid the bill in advance.
Laxus and Bacchus didn't argue, they knew how loaded I was, while Ichiya looked uncomfortable but accepted my gesture with a poetic speech.
"Cheers to us! We planned for this day for over a year, even if one of us came in at the last minute, and came out on top! To another day!" (Dante)
""Cheers!""
"Oh? And what did you brave warriors do?" (Courtesan #1)
Starting from there, the guys showed off their new tat's. Like I said before, it wasn't illegal, just super dangerous and uncommon.
Bacchus had a girl on each arm flirting with him.
Laxus had a mature type woman practically draping over him while he shared stories with her.
And surprisingly, Ichiya had a full four women around him. Say what you want about him being weird, the guy was a very popular playboy of his guild.
As for me? Well, two Ichiya's women were with me until a certain lioness arrived and literally dropped into my lap.
She seemed to speak with the two courtesans in whispers and after heavy blushing, they went to join Ichiya.
We celebrated into the night, ate, and drank, and I even pulled out my own drinks and made a diehard ally of Revy while the courtesans brought a bottle to their matron who apparently wanted to speak with me about making a deal in the morning.
I put that into the back of my mind however when Revy practically hauled me into one of the rooms and tried to meld her body into mine.
She was smaller than me, but damn did she have a fierce fire in her.
The next morning, as the sun rose high into the sky, I awoke from blissful sleep being weighed down by a total of four bodies.
Draped over my chest was the familiar burgundy hair of Revy spread around in a wild fashion as she practically claimed my chest like a satisfied lioness.
What surprised me was the body pressing into my right side which had an unforgettable head of pink hair.
'Virgo?'
She was nude and happily snuggled into my neck and side.
Ignoring that as something I was used to, I looked over to see two passed out courtesans pressed up into my left side with them spooning each other into me.
'What the hell happened last night?'
I just lay there for a moment in the bliss of four beautiful women pressed into me while recalling what I could before my eyes widened a bit.
'I think I got a bit too excited.'
The memories came back slowly.
Revy was one WILD woman. We cracked the floor, the ceiling, and two walls under our animalistic mating.
Then Virgo popped in and immediately jumped into the fray saying no one would take the mistress position from her.
And after the bed frame broke, the two courtesans who Revy had talked to came in and joined in. Apparently Revy told them to let her have fun with me first and assured them I was likely able to handle all of them.
I recall spanking her for that, but she only got turned on farther and it turned into a five way orgy.
The fact I came out on top was a bit surprising in all honesty.
'Huh… perhaps I have been subconsciously holding back?'
Me and Virgo had a pretty active sex life with each other, but I guess I was still subconsciously limiting myself when the constitution potions kept strengthening me. It's like how a human brain places limits on their bodies strength so it doesn't break itself, except in my case, my subconscious placed the limits as I didn't THINK I was capable of it.
'Good lesson to learn.'
As I worked through that thought, Virgo stirred and rubbed her head on me.
I spoke mentally to avoid waking the others.
'Good morning beautiful.' (Dante)
Her eyes blinked open and came into focus before she gave a bright smile and continued rubbing her head into me.
'Good morning master. I'm glad you finally decided to stop holding back in bed.' (Virgo)
I raised an eyebrow at that.
'You knew I was?' (Dante)
She nodded slightly.
'Mhm, it's not a servants place to push their master so I wanted you to realize for yourself.' (Virgo)
I felt a bit annoyed at that response and bumped my head lightly on hers.
'How many times do I have to tell you? You're my partner, my life long partner, not my servant. Tell me these things if you notice okay?' (Dante)
She stuck her tongue out cutely at that and I couldn't help the instinct to kiss her there. It seemed that wasn't the best action to take however since I felt a strong grip around my growing morning wood.
"Oho~ The killer hasn't had enough even after four women? It looks like my pride is being challenged here." (Revy)
Revy had stirred from her sleep at my movement and considering she was laying on my chest, she immediately felt my wood.
I matched eyes with her fierce ones and turned to see Virgo giving me the same amused and hungry eyes and gave up.
"*sigh* Fine, you girls want to be satisfied? We're not leaving this room until you can't walk straight!" (Dante)
I flipped Revy over and pinned her underneath me much to her and Virgo's laughter.
It took another few hours for us to get out of there where a not amused looking matron was waiting and gave the two courtesans, who had woken up midway through our morning activity and joined in only to end up not being able to walk for a little while, a withering glare.
I chuckled and rubbed the back of my head.
"I'll pay for the damages." (Dante)
It was a fun memory to look back on.
