Chapter 18:

Sharp-teeth Attack!

A few hours later, it was still raining as lightning flashed and thunderclaps were heard. Looming just 100 yards from the cave entrance were two shadows.

Lightning flashed as it was the Tyrannocervus and Allorhinus and they both growled as they begin to approach the cave. Inside, Uhuru was sleeping until he woke up as the ground momentarily vibrated and they repeated as a rock lightly fell aside another rock. Then Uhuru lifted his head up and gasped for seeing the Tyrannocervus and Allorhinus outside.

" Shhhh, Sharp-teeth," whispered Uaminifu as he appeared next to Uhuru.

Uhuru turns back towards them. The Tyrannocervus and Allorhinus growled as they slowly head towards the cave.

" What do we do?" asked Uhuru quietly.

" Wake the others," said Uaminifu.

The Tyrannocervus and Allorhinus continued stalking closer to the cave as the Allorhinus growled. Inside the cave, Uhuru quickly and quietly woke his friends as they quietly begin to move away as Uhuru went over to One-ton who was still asleep. He gently shook him as One-ton woke up, the first things he sees is the Tyrannocervus and Allorhinus just outside of the entrance.

" Sharp-," yelled One-ton as Uhuru placed a front foot over his head and turns to the Tyrannocervus and Allorhinus.

Outside, the two carnivores heard the bleat as they quickly perked on high alert as the Tyrannocervus growled. Everyone kept still and quiet as soon the Tyrannocervus and Allorhinus lost interest and started sniffing around the entrance. Soon, Uhuru and his friends began to move deeper into the cave trying to be quiet as they can. But as they moved up a ridge-like rise of the cave floor, Trya lightly bumped against a rock pillar with her neck. The light jostle was enough to cause a rock to roll off and fall down next to Bulldozer.

" Oooh," said Bulldozer quietly as he jumped back.

Uhuru gasped and quickly tries to get it as it rolled but missed, and the rock rolls outside. The snout of the Allorhinus lowers down to it and snarled and then lifts up. Uhuru kept still and quiet as the Allorhinus lifts his head up and then cranes his snout through the falling water as Uhuru still kept still as the Allorhinus sniffed. But as the Allorhinus sniffed, he noticed something familiar about it, and Uhuru noticed something familiar about the Allorhinus. As he looked down, Uhuru sees that one of the Allorhinus legs is burned. That was the moment when Uhuru recognize it. It was the Allorhinus who killed his adopted mother.

The Allorhinus bared his teeth as water pour down on his head. Then he slowly looks around the area of the cave in front of him. Then suddenly a thunderclap was heard and lightning flashed revealing Uhuru and blowing his cover. The moment the Allorhinus saw him and recognized his scent, he roars and then charges as Uhuru quickly turns and ran for his life as the Tyrannocervus begins to follow them.

" Go! Go! Hurry!" yelled Uhuru as he quickly ran up the ridge with the Allorhinus right on his tail.

Uhuru hurries down the cave as the Allorhinus roared. Ahead of them, Bulldozer tries to get over the ledge as Uhuru appeared and quickly pushed him up.

" Move, Bulldozer!" yelled Uhuru.

" I'm trying!" yelled Bulldozer.

The loud footsteps of the charging Allorhinus were heard as he roared. Uhuru continues pushing Bulldozer up the ledge quickly until he was suddenly pulled back as the Allorhinus caught his tail in his jaws and pulls him back.

" UHURU!" yelled Trya, Bulldozer, One-ton, and Mabawa in unison.

Ahead of them, Uaminifu quickly stopped and uneasily glanced ahead to the deeper part of the cave. The Allorhinus continues pulling Uhuru back from the ledge and then turns to him. But then the Tyrannocervus shoves the Allorhinus aside placing his foot on Uhuru's tail and snarled turning to Uhuru. But the Allorhinus snapped at him, but the Tyrannocervus ignored that as he snapped at him again. Then the two predators started fighting as a whinny was heard and then suddenly Uaminifu slams against them aside. Uhuru quickly scrambles to his feet as the Tyrannocervus and Allorhinus slam against a rock pillar as they climbed to their feet.

" I'll hold them off! You help your friends!" yelled Uaminifu.

Uhuru quickly got up and runs off as the Tyrannocervus and Allorhinus got up and the Tyrannocervus roared out as they turned their attention to Uaminifu. Uhuru soon caught up with his friends as they hurried down the tunnel. But then he caught to a stop as Uaminifu was heard whinnying. Hearing him whinnying made Uhuru remembered when his adopted mother got injured by the Allorhinus and he didn't do anything. Now Uhuru was unsure if he wants to leave Uaminifu.

Uaminifu whinnied at the two carnivores as he was on a rock ridge. The Tyrannocervus roars back at him. Then the Allorhinus was the first to make a move as he charges. But Uaminifu quickly twirls and swung his tail at the Allorhinus' face. The force of the tail swung caused the Allorhinus to sidestep and hit against the side a rock pillar. The Allorhinus roars as he tries getting a footing. Uaminifu then noticed the ceiling of the cave where there are dozens of rocks above them over the rock pillar as they were acting like a support beam. One boulder came loose and falls.

Then Uaminifu charges as the Tyrannocervus brought his jaws down onto his back but Uaminifu slams against the rock pillars as dozens of rocks came crashing down. Uhuru appeared at the entrance of the tunnel.

" Uaminifu!" yelled Uhuru.

Uaminifu quickly manages to get up as the Tyrannocervus and Allorhinus were struggling through the falling rocks and Uaminifu quickly makes his way over to Uhuru as the rocks rained down on them. But then Uaminifu stops and whinnies out as a large boulder crashed on top of him.

" Uaminifu! No!" yelled Uhuru.

Soon the entire cavern was covered in a thick layer of dust as the last rocks fell to the cave floor. Uhuru coughed through the dust and quickly heads over to Uaminifu was as he hurries to the large rock pile. Close by was the head of the Tyrannocervus which is now dead.

" Uaminifu!" yelled Uhuru.

Uhuru quickly got to the area of rocks and quickly removes the rocks as he soon got to Uaminifu. But unfortunately, it was too late as Uaminifu's head limped lifelessly. Uhuru only managed to look away sadly for it was his worst nightmare all over again. Mabawa soon joins and turns to Uhuru.

" You did what you could," said Mabawa.

Suddenly, a hissing roar was heard as Uhuru angrily glared and turns to the rock pile where some rocks jostled. Uhuru angrily glared and snarled. On the other side of the pile, the Allorhinus roars as he pulls himself free and looks over to the pile as Uhuru on the other side snorted. Knowing there was no way he could get to them or dig, the Allorhinus snorted knowing that every hunt can't always be successful, even with the greatest predators. The Allorhinus turns away and limps off away to the cave entrance having a few injuries from the rocks.

As the Allorhinus got to the entrance, he then angrily growls and looks back. Then he stomps his left foot and lets out a loud fearsome roar.

Author's Note: Well, the Tyrannocervus rex is defeated but the Allorhinus still lives and he's now more injured and probably more weak than before.

The good news is that he won't get to Uhuru and his friends on the other side. Plus, what Uaminifu did was very brave also did you know that Uaminifu's name means "loyalty" in Swahili. I also have a feeling Uhuru and the Allorhinus are gonna meet again just wait and see in the next chapters.
