The man had obviously seen Azanai. Azanai was unsure of what to do next. He had no idea how powerful this opponent was. The man seemed to be waiting for Azanai to make a move. The earpiece Azanai was wearing extended itself into a pair of glasses on his face. They projected an augmented reality vision display onto the glasses, and above the strange villain was the label "AP 300." Azanai would probably have to ask what that meant later on, but nevertheless, he was determined to take down the villain in front of him.
In a reckless attempt to get the jump on him, Azanai rushed straight toward the villain and tried to use his momentum to carry himself straight into him. Immediately, the villain reached out his hand and grabbed his skull. Within seconds, Azanai was dead, engulfed in flames emanating from the villain's heads. Once he blacked out, he was met with the sight of the Astral Chamber once again. The guardian commented from between the doors, "Prepare for a long haul."
"The hell's that supposed to mean?"
"You'll see."
Azanai walked back through he blue door.
He was standing right outside the city, looking at his phone. he could tell where the signal was coming from, like before. He started heading toward the signal again, only to realize it was the exact same path he took before. Once again, he passed the bakery, walking the streets, and then, again, saw the same villain incinerating the same body. He turned his head and gave that look again. Azanai wasn't afraid this time, since he knew what was coming. He leaped onto the wall of the alleyway and started jumping between the walls to avoid flames. He almost got a kick onto the villain, but his foot was incinerated as soon as he touched him. It spread all across his body, and he blacked out yet again.
Back in the Astral Chamber, Azanai quickly headed through the blue door again. He sprinted down the streets, back towards the location of the villain. They locked eyes again, ready for combat. Azanai quickly realized what little of an actual combat strategy he actually had formed up to that point. He was inferior to almost everyone in the new world he occupied, and training his own strength was extremely tedious and inefficient. Even if he chose to ignore it, in his subconscious, Azanai knew he couldn't solve everything with a punch to the gut. He snapped back into reality. The last times he tried attacking, he strictly used his quirk. However, he remember that it wasn't all he had to work with. Dashing away, he thought through his toolset. He had the earpiece glasses given to him by Kuta. He messed with the buttons and eventually stumbled upon a radio interface where he could tune a signal. He started messing with it until he found a signal. An audio came through in his earpiece instead of his glasses. A person was talking to him.
"In need of some assistance, are we?"
"How did you know that? Who are you?"
"You're probably going to need this, so do with it what you will." The radio turned back to static.
Azanai heard the clack of something dropped onto the ground behind him. He turned around and saw a glock laying on the pavement. He intuitively picked it up. It felt like it was made specifically to fit into the shape of his hand. He began walking back to the villain. When he saw him again, he was still consuming the body in flames. Azanai thought that if his melee attacks weren't going to work, he could instead use one of his bullets to shoot him. He shot the bullet, and was greeted with another flood of flames from the villain. For the third time, he was incinerated.
He appeared back at the Astral Chamber. He apathetically trudged through the blue door again. He had already done everything he could... wait. He caught himself midway through his thought. There was similarity between his previous encounters with the villain, something connecting all of his actions. It was the event in which the villain stared at him and awaited his next move. He thought for a moment. "What if I attacked from a point in which he couldn't see me?" He quickly realized that it would be difficult to do, since he was in a secluded alleyway in which there were very little access points.
Then he realized his ticket to success. The roof.
It was easily accessible from the medium-height buildings, and it would give him a clear shot to the villain, as he already knew where he was. The only trouble would be getting over the buildings. Azanai walked over tot hem. They weren't too tall, but they still were obstructing some of the view. He used Small for All to boost himself over them, but quickly stopped himself once he reached the top, as he realized any noise he made could easily alert the villain. He quietly made his way across the rooftops, over to the location of the villain.
There he stood, incinerating the body as always. Azanai aimed the gun towards his head. He held down the trigger. Much to his surprise, instead of a single bullet, a shower of pain fell upon the villain. He stood there with bullet holes in his body, bleeding out into the alley. He glanced up at the person who shot him, and once again gave the gaze, but this time, there was a sense of true terror emanating from it. He vegan to speak between his cluttered breathing.
"Just who the hell do you think you're shooting?"
"Less talking, please. Resume dying."
"You're talking to the one and only Eternity Maw. I'm not someone you just shoot casually and get away with it."
"Watch me." Azanai fired down a rain of bullets, only to be met with the same dark flame he'd seen 3 times before, the one that killed him. He dodged out of the way, as his body activated Tranquility out of stress, and he was in an area open enough to add the necessarily mobility range and variability of actions. Eternity Maw stared at Azanai like he was responsible for all the misfortune in the world. He started talking once more.
"You know what, I've had enough of getting shot. I don't want to hold back anymore. All I want if for you to die. I don't care if I die in the process. I'll use everything to fuel myself."
Eternity Maw began rapidly producing flames, and they spread throughout the environment, encapsulating nearby buildings and adding to the great blaze. The AP level of Eternity Maw was steadily growing higher. The flames stopped spreading in an instant, and the AP level stopped at 2500.
"I'm not going to be easily beat by some newbie. Come at me."
Azanai stopped for a moment to consider his next move. He carefully observed Eternity Maw's flames, and noticed they were all sourced on his head. Back when he shot him, he noticed they were all sourced on his head. Back when he shot him, he noticed a glowing purple point on his heads from which the flames emanated. He now recognized it as a weak point. Eternity Maw continually fired blasts of flame and tried to consume Azanai with the ground, but it was no use, for it was too late. Azanai used tranquility to turn around, moving directly behind Eternity Maw. he shot a steady stream of bullets into the back of his head the moment he had his line of sight. Eternity Maw's flames all burned out, and his body fell to the ground, dead.
But what now?
