Chapter 34: A Fight to The End!
We find ourselves at the Indigo Village, as Ash and his friends and family were eating breakfast..
"Today is the day, from now on it's just full battles till the end of the tournament." Brock said.
"I never been in a Full Battle before. I saw on TV those take quite a while to finish. And now it's mine turn." Ash said.
"Brace yourself Ash. 6 on 6 battles are not only longer they are most unexpected because you never know what kind of strategies and lineup your opponent will use." Prof. Oak said.
"So the prelims were just baby steps?" Tomo asks.
"And now comes the really hard part." Delia realized.
"I guess it was to weed out the weak trainers so the stronger trainers can finally shine out." Misty said.
"This'll be tough but I think I can do this. I've come this far." Ash said sipping his juice.
"Do you really think you can make it to the finals?" Tomo asks Ash curiously.
"Let's just see if I can make it past this round first." Ash said
Can he make it to the final battle? Nobody knows.
Soon we find ourselves in the Indigo Stadium as the stands were packed with fans and previous trainers eager to see who wins.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we are now entering the Victory Tournament in this years Pokémon League competition!" The announcer said making the crowd roar with cheers. "After a days of battling, we now come near the exciting conclusion where 8 of the toughest trainers have made it this far to get past the preliminary rounds to make it all the way here. For the remainder of the tournament, Trainers are now allowed in Full Battles, which means trainers are allowed to use 6 Pokémon each!"
Walking in on the red side, Fergus walks to his side ready to battle while Ash walked out of the green side. "On the red side, we have the terror of the deep, the trainer whose Water Pokemon has flooded away the competition, Fergus!"
"And on the Green side is already becoming a favorite among fans with his quick thinking and astounding Pokemon even though it is his first time competing in a regional tournament, he may look scary, but not to his fans, Ash Ketchum!"
"Whoo! Go Ash!" Misty cheers.
"You can do it!" Tomo cheers.
"We're rooting for you!" Brock cheers.
"All of Pallet Town is behind you!" Prof. Oak cheers.
"I know you can win honey!" Delia calls out.
In Pallet Town, everyone was watching the match eagerly but none of them noticed Mewtwo watching this with interest as well.
Meeting in the middle, Ash and Fergus readied themselves.
"Ready to throw down kid?" Fergus challenges.
"Bring it on." Ash said pumped.
"Each side may only use 6 Pokémon each and the match is over when one side's Pokémon can no longer continue! May the first match begin!" The referee announced.
"Golduck, let's go!" Fergus sends out his first Pokémon.
"Rodeo, I Choose You!' Ash said releasing his Tauros, who mooed.
"And for the first round of this match Fergus has chosen to start with his Golduck and Ash with Tauros!"
"Rodeo use Take Down!" Ash said as Rodeo mooed and charges headfirst.
"Golduck Aqua Tail!" With a glowing blue tail Golduck meets Rodeo head on.
"Push on!" Ash said as Rodeo easily overpowers Aqua Tail and knocks into Golduck.
"Fury Swipes!" With glowing claws Golduck leaps in and scratches Rodeo.
"Megahorn Rodeo!" Ash said. Rodeo's horn glowed green and stabs Golduck, sending it upwards.
"And Ash's Tauros bucks Golduck like a cowboy in a rodeo!" The announcer said.
Ash heard him and chuckle. "That's why I called him that."
"Golduck Disable!" Fergus said as Golduck's eyes glowed preventing Rodeo from using Megahorn. "Now use Confusion!" Fergus said as Golduck's eyes glowed, getting Rodeo trapped in a trance. He pushes Rodeo backwards into a wall.
"Smart move. Fergus shuts down Ash's attack and then moves in and strikes with his own." Prof. Oak said impressed
"It's just the beginning, but Ash can make that comeback." Brock saidm
"Golduck Hydro Pump!" Fergus said as Golduck blasted a giant stream of water.
"Rodeo, use Giga Impact and go through it!" Ash yelled. A yellow-orange energy covers Rodeo and his body. Then, a purple energy sphere surrounds him as he stomps towards the water to make it deflect around his head.
"Don't let up Golduck!" Fergus said as Golduck put on the pressure but Rodeo kept charging through the water.
Making one more stomp, Rodeo successfully charged into Golduck.
"Gol!" Golduck screams flying backwards before crashing to the ground next to Fergus with swirly eyes. "Duck."
"Golduck is unable to battle! Tauros wins!" The ref announced.
"Alright Rodeo!" Ash cheered as Rodeo stomped his foot and moo'ed in victory.
"Mess with the bull you get the horns and with that Ash has won the first round of this battle!" The announcer said.
Fergus was shocked his Golduck was knocked out so quickly.
"Wow Ash gotta admit your Tauros has tons of power." Fergus said returning Golduck.
"They're known to be heavy hitters and are best known for their strong tackles. I just knew having one would suit me well." Ash said as his Tauros smiled.
"Well here's one of mine. Go Tentacruel!" Fergus said calling out the giant jellyfish Pokemon appeared.
"Tentacruel." Misty was looking to one of her favorite Pokémon to have. "Their tentacles can give a mean grip, that not even a crowbar can break through it."
"Wow Misty how'd you know that so quickly?" Prof. Oak asks.
"Tentacool and Tentacruel are two of my favorite Water Pokémon, so of course I know many things about them." She smiled, happy about her knowledge.
"So she likes that, but is scared of bugs?" Tomo points.
"I don't get it either." Brock said.
"You ready for Round 2 Rodeo?" Ash asks as Rodeo moos pumped.
"Tentacruel, Screech!" Fergus said. Tentacruel opens its mouth and calls out loudly, distorting the air. Making Rodeo cringe.
"Toge." Togepi flinched feeling it from the stands.
"You too Togepi?" Misty gasps.
"Oh man that Tentacruel is strong if we can feel it all the way up here." Brock cringed.
"Now use Bubblebeam!"
Firing a barrage bubbles they pelted Rodeo making him cringe in pain.
"Rodeo, shake it off and use Bulldoze!" Ash said. Rodeo shakes his head and stomps his feet on the battlefield. Creating a tremor, that made Tentacruel groan at the pain. "Now Take Down!"
"Tentacruel Wrap attack!" Fergus said as Tentacruel traps Rodeo in its tentacles preventing it from moving.
"Tentacruel has trapped Tauros in its 14 tentacles and are giving Tauros a mean squeezing!" The announcer said seeing Tentacruel not letting go of Rodeo.
"Rodeo get outta there!" Ash said.
"Not happening. Now Poison Sting!" Fergus said as Tentacruel nails Rodeo with a powerful poison attack. Thus making Rodeo have a poison hue on his face.
"Oh no! Thanks to Fergus' trap Tauros has been poisoned by Tentacruel!" The announcer said.
"Now keep squeezing!" Fergus said making Tentacruel's grip onto Rodeo even more painful.
"Rodeo break outta there! Bulldoze!" Ash said.
Mooing Rodeo slams his hooves to the ground causing the ground to shake causing Tentacruel to wobble. And made his tentacles losen up abit, giving Rodeo the chance to be free.
"Unbelievable! Ash used Bulldoze to rattle Tentacruel allowing him to escape!" The announcer said.
Disable should be dispelled by now. "Now Rodeo, use Mega Horn!" Ash said.
Rodeo mooed as he stabs Tentacruel by the orbs with his glowing horns.
"Tentacruel Facade!" Swinging his tentacles Tentacruel whacks Rodeo and since Rodeo was still poisoned the attack damage was doubled.
With one final moo, Rodeo fell to his side. "Rodeo!" Ash gasps.
"Tauros is unable to battle, Tentacruel is the winner!"
"What a combo! Using Poison Sting and Facade Fergus has defeated Ash's Tauros with a devastating strike!" The announcer said.
Rodeo, Return!" Ash returns the bull back to his Pokéball. "You did well big guy, get some rest." Now comes his 2nd ball. "Shredder, Go!"
Ash throws out his 3 fossil Pokémon. "Kabutops!" He roared raising his scythes.
"And Ash's second Pokemon is the ancient Pokémon Kabutops! With Kabutops rock hard skin not even Tentacruel's sharp poison can pierce that rock!" The announcer said.
"Let's see if Tentacruel can wrap itself around that." Tomo smiles.
"Shredder Slash!" Ash said as Shredder charges in with his arm blades at the ready.
"Tentacruel, Acid Armor!" Fergus said. Tentacruel disappears into a puddle of water onto the ground. Recovering from the miss, Shredder turns around to see Tentacruel emerge from the puddle. "Now Bubblebeam!"
"Cancel it with Slash!" Ash said as Shredder swings his arms around to knock the bubbles away easily to make it towards Tentacruel.
"Wrap!" Tentacruel launches its tentacles at Shredder but he dodges and slashes Tentacruel making it scream in pain.
"Never try to strangle a Pokémon with sharp edges." Ash mocked Fergus grinning.
"Then I'll blast you away! Use Sludge Wave!" Fergus said as Tentacruel fired a purple wave of poison at Shredder.
"Harden!" Ash said as Shredder increased his defense taking the attack.
Didn't looked like it meant nothing to him. "Now use your Stone Edge!" Ash said. Striking his scythes to the ground, Shredder roared while making light blue rock pillars to appear out of the ground and rush towards Tentacruel.
"Dodge it Tentacruel!" Fergus said. Moving out of the Tentacruel dodges the attack.
"Don't let'im get away! Stone Edge once more!" Ash said. As the giant stones shot out of the ground they blocked the needles and hit Tentacruel.
"Tentacruel!" He groans landing on the ground.
"Now Shredder use Slash!" Ash said. Shredder's claws glowed and slashed Tentacruel on the head.
"Tentacruel is about to be chopped into sushi." Prof. Oak said.
"Acid Armor!" Fergus said as Tentacruel's defense sharply increased. He evaporated into water before Shredder could slash hin once more.
"Hydro Pump!" From the puddle Tentacruel blasts Shredder sending him flying backwards.
"Shredder, Swords Dance then use Surf!" Ash said. Shredder closes his eyes and meditates. Several blue glowing swords circle and cross together. Shredder then glows red, raising its Attack.
"Kabutops!" He summons a huge wave of water, which crashes down onto Tentacruel.
"Talk about a wipeout folks! Kabutops just brought an entire tidal wave down on Tentacruel!" The announcer said.
"Tentacruel, if you're out there say something!" Fergus calls out. Bursting out of the water Tentacruel pants heavily.
"Tentacruel has survived the tidal wave from Kabutops! Now that's a Pokémon with resistance!" The announcer said.
"We're not going down yet! Wring out!" Tentacruel wraps his tentacles around Shredder's legs and throws him across the field.
"Use Stone Edge!" Ash said as large glowing stones pop out of the ground as Shredder flipped and leaps off of one from his feet, giving him the boost to leap at Tentacruel.
"Quick Bubblebeam!"
"Aerial Ace!" Diving through the bubbles Shredder dives in and slashes Tentacruel sending it crashing to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Tentacruel is unable to battle! Kabutops is unable to battle!" The ref declared.
"And an amazing and spectacular way to use Stone Edge to give Kabutops the win!" The announcer said.
"Now that was impressive." Brock said.
"As sad as I am Tentacruel got beat I'm glad Ash won this." Misty said.
"That's my boy, he's doing great for his first Full Battle." Delia said happily taking pictures of Shredder.
"I gotta say Ash you really know how to keep the surprises coming." Fergus said returning Tentacruel.
"And I'm not done yet Fergus, I'm always one to give surprises." Ash smiles.
"Well check this one out. Go Vaporeon!" Fergus said calling out the water Eeveelution.
"Vaporeon!"
"And Fergus' third Pokemon is Vaporeon! Vaproeon is strong but will it be strong enough to stop Kabutops?" The announcer asks.
"Of all the evolutions Eevee can turn into Vaproeon has the best attack strength." Prof. Oak said.
"Shredder isn't looking to hot either Professor." Brock said seeing Shredder looking exhausted from his previous match.
"Vaproeon Haze!" Fergus said as Vaporeon dark clouds around the arena before disappearing into them.
Shredder was not lowering his guard not one inch as he looked around.
"Now Rock Smash!" Leaping out of the haze with a glowing tail Vaporeon smashes into Shredder dealing super effective damage.
"Tops!" He cried out.
"Now Iron Tail!" Vaporeon's tail turned into metal as it brings it down to Shredder's head, who in return blocked the advantage with his scythes.
"Knock her back and use Stone Edge!" Ash said as Shredder pushes Vaporeon back and stones shoot out of the ground.
"Dodge it!" Fergus said as Vaporeon leaps off of them whenever they pop up.
"Shredder use X-Scissor!" Ash said as Shredder's claws glowed green and leaped at Vaporeon.
"Dodge it with Quick Attack!" Fergus said as Vaporeon dashes out of the way.
"Kabu!" Shredder tries again, but to no avail as Vaporeon speeds past him.
"Iron Tail!" Moving in Vaporeon whacks Shredder in the gut. Making it super effective and Shredder falls backwards on the ground.
"Shredder!" Ash gasps as Shredder struggles to get up.
This was bad, at this rate, Shredder is going to be knocked out.
"Vaproeon Water Pulse!" Fergus said firing a sphere of water.
"Shredder dodge and Absorb!" Leaping out of the way Shredder glows green and absorbs some of Vaporeon's energy.
Making her groan in pain at the super effective move. "Now Stone Edge!" Ash said. This time, Stone Edge uppercuts Vaporeon, sending it flying in the air.
"Vaporeon Blizzard!" Fergus said as Vaporeon breathed a freezing cold wind.
"Kabu!" Shredder covers himself with his scythes as the wind takes apart of his area on the field.
When the Blizzard died down Shredder tried to move but saw the attack had frozen his feet.
"Ash's Kabutops is trapped in ice from that devastating Blizzard move!" The announcer said.
"Shredder, use your claws to break free and fast!" Ash yelled.
"Iron Tail!" Before Shredder could escape Vaporeon slams her metal tail into Shredder knocking him to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Kabutops is unable to battle! Vaporeon wins!" The ref announces
"And Fergus evens the score once again!" The announcer said.
"Man Fergus and his Water Types are putting up quite a fight." Tomo said.
"I could use some of these strategies for mine." Misty said.
Ash returns Shredder. 'So far I see a pattern. I take out one of his Pokémon, then he throws something out to take out mine.' He thought.
If Ash wanted to break this he would need to trip him up.
Grabbing a new ball, Ash smirked. "Talon, I Choose You!" Ash throws his Fearow out.
"And Ash's third Pokemon is the flying type Fearow! We have ourselves a classic sea vs sky showdown!"
"Not pulling out anything to counter my water types Ash?" Fergus challenges.
"Trust me Talon is more than enough to beat your Pokémon." Ash smirks.
"Then let's see. Vaporeon use Blizzard to the skies!" Fergus said as Vaporeon blew out a cold wind in the air.
"Agility!" Talon disappeared to avoid the cold breeze and reappeared. "Now Uproar!" Talon screeched very loudly that it made blue sound waves appear from his beak towards the field, making Vaporeon hold her ears in pain.
"Vaporeon shoot it out of the sky! Water Gun!" Vaporeon fires multiple streams of water.
"Dive Down with Drill Run!" Ash said. Talon rotates his body quickly, with white lines swirling around and charges downwards.
"Acid Armor, quick!" Fergus said. Vaporeon is about to turn into a puddle but Talon whacks her just before she could escape.
"Por!"
"Don't let up! Fury Attack!" Talon started pecking and scratching Vaporeon repeatedly. "Now Aerial Ace!"
"Stop him with Iron Tail!" Swinging backwards Vaporeon whacks Talon in the face.
"Mirror Move!" Ash said. Recovering Talon's tail feather's turned to steel as he flew in for a counterattack.
"Counter it with your Iron Tail!" Fergus said as Vaporeon's tail turned to metal again and the two collided.
"Talon Pursuit!" Glowing purple Talon flew in and rammed into Vaporeon.
"Now that's why Talon is Ash's ace Pokémon." Brock said with a smile. "Fearow are relentless fighters."
"Keep it up Ash! Take him down!" Tomo calls out.
"Vaporeon, you OK?" Fergus asked as Vaporeon barked, saying she's fine after shaking her head. "Then let's try Hail!"
Vaporeon releases a gust of cold air from its body, causing snow to start falling.
"Fear!" Talon flinches as blocks of ice pelted him. The ice pelted Vaporeon as well, but wasn't all that effective for one being a water type and 2 having using Acid Armor alot.
"Now Water Gun!" Firing the stream of water it hits Talon in the chest.
"And Vaporeon found a new way to bring Fearow down from the sky by having an icy cold combo of Hail and water!"
"Now Quick Attack!" Fergus said as Vaporeon charged towards the plummeting Talon.
"Talon you gotta listen! Steel Wing!" Ash yells.
Before plummeting to the ground, Talon hears his trainers words and spreads his wings as they glowed and gotten airborne on time to tackle Vaporeon, easily overpowering Quick Attack.
"What a counterattack! Talon manages to knock Vaporeon back even while falling through the air!" The announcer said. Vaporeon rolled backwards and skids on its back on the ground.
When she does both Vaporeon and Talon get hit by Hail.
"I had to make a little sacrifice.." Fergus said to himself.
"Now Talon let's use Drill Run!"
"Blizzard!" Vaporeon breathes a freezing cold wind but Talon spun through it like a drill.
Vaporeon looked in shock, but was too late to react as Talon landed his blow on her, making a dust of smoke appear.
"Vaporeon!" Fergus gasped. Talon flew up high as they see Vaporeon on the ground with swirls in her eyes.
"Vapreon is unable to battle, Fearow is the winner!"
"And with that Fergus has lost the first half of his team but this battle is far from over folks so don't get up just yet!"
Fergus returns Vaporeon. "Good work Vaporeon." He smiles to the ball. "OK Ash, out of all battles, this is getting fun." He grins. "I don't I have ever lost Pokémon so quickly in just a couple of minutes."
"First time for everything." Ash shrugs.
"But now comes the hard part!" Fergus grins taking out a black and yellow striped ball, an Ultra Ball. "These last 3 Pokémon are my personal best!" He throws it into the air.
Out came a large navy blue penguin with orange webbed feet, metal flippers with blue metal bordering it and three orange small claws underneath its flippers. It has a blue fin at the back along with a tail and a giant metal blue fin in the center of it starting from its chin, along with a three horned trident crest making its beak.
"Empo!"
"Huh?!" Everyone gasped as they was shocked at the new Pokémon.
"What's that?!" Ash brings his PokéDex out.
"Empoleon, the Emperor Pokémon. The evolved form of Prinplup. The three horns that extend from its beak attest to its power. This Pokémon will use its sharp edges wings to attack anyone or anything that damages its pride."
"I wasn't expecting something to see any other trainer to bring out a new Pokémon unlike Ketchum! Fergus has pulled out one that is new to the Kanto Region!"
This time Ash was the one blown away. For the first time Ash's opponent had a Pokemon he had never seen before.
"Empoleon? Where's that from?" Tomo asks.
"I believe that Empoleon originate from the Sinnoh region." Prof. Oak said.
"Sinnoh? That's so far away from here." Brock said surprised.
"How did Fergus get something like that?" Misty asks blown away by the Water Pokémon.
"Alright Empoleon Aqua Jet!" Surrounding itself with water Empoleon shot forward and rammed into Talon.
"Talon, Agility!" Ash said. Recovering from the attack Talon flew out of the way increasing his speed.
"Fire a Flash Cannon all in the sky and stop Fearow!" Fergus said. Charging up Empoleon fires a bright gray beam forcing Talon to stop in order to avoid being blasted.
"Now Launching Drill Peck!" Spinning like a missle as his beak glowed, Empoleon leaps off of the ground to meet at Talon.
"Talon stop him!" Using his claws Talon grabs Empoleon by his fins stopping it just before impact.
"Empoleon, Metal Claw and break free!" Empoleon's claws glowed silver and scratched Talon in the face, making him screech, thus freeing Empoleon from any more damage.
Talon screeched in anger and dove downwards to use Steel Wing.
"Use Aqua Jet and overpower Fearow!" Fergus said. Empoleon was covered in water as it sprung upwards again and easily knocks away Steel Wing and lands it's impact on Talon.
"Wow that Empoleon sure is strong." Delia said impressed.
"Yes and it's giving Ash and Talon a lot of trouble." Prof. Oak nods
"Well Misty?" Tomo asked the girl.
"What do expect me to say? I don't know anything about Sinnoh Pokémon." Misty asks.
"Looks like Ash is going to be battling blinded." Brock figured.
"Ash can figure this out. He's dealt with worse, right?" Tomo asks.
"I guess." Misty says unsure.
"It depends on how Ash and Talon work together in this." Prof. Oak said.
"You OK boy?!" Ash called out to him.
"Fear." Talon growls not ready to lose.
'Now what? Should I do the plan now?' Ash wonders before shaking his head. 'No not yet. It's way to early.' He looks to Empoleon, seeing it flexs its wings.
Pausing Ash shrugs. "Why not? Time to embrace the obvious. Talon return!" Ash said taking out his Pokeball and returning Talon.
"Ketchum is making a switch of Pokémon! What will he pick againt Empoleon?!" The announcer said as Ash uses his new ball.
"Go, Alpha!" Ash throws it and out came Venusaur.
"Saur!" Alpha roars throughout the stadium.
"And Ash's 4th Pokemon is a Venasaur! Using a Grass type against a Water type is a smart move, but will it be enough to defeat Empoleon?" The announcer asks.
"No problem with us." Fergus said ready. "Empolen, Drill Peck!"
"Alpha Power Whip!" Flinging a large vine Alpha whacks Empoleon like it was a baseball being pitched. Causing Empoleon to faulter his flight and miss Alpha. "Now Razor Leaf!" Ash said as Alpha fired leaves knocking Empoleon back multiple times.
"Use Flash Cannon and knock them all away!" Fergus said as Empoleon fired the white beam as it goes through the leaves and hits Alpha.
"Saur." Alpha winces before standing tall.
"Now Drill Peck!"
"Empo!" Empoleon spun towards Alpha with quick pace again.
"Dodge it!" Alpha slaps two vines on the ground, making him fly above Empoleon.
"Now that's a jump." Fergus gasps.
"Now Double Edge!" Diving down Alpha smashes Empoleon into the ground.
"Get that Venusaur off of you!" Fergus said. Empoleon growled as he fires Flash Cannon on the ground, which made a perfect flight for him and Alpha, surprisingly.
"Saur?!" Alpha gasped being lifted.
"Alpha!" Ash gasps.
"Now Drill Peck!" Spinning in Empoleon pecks Alpha dealing super effective damage.
"Saur!" Alpha lands on his back with a huge thud.
"Ooh that's gotta hurt." Tomo winces.
"I need to get me one of those Empoleon." Misty said.
"My Empoleon was trained to handle Grass Types, so there's no way your Venusaur can stop it." Fergus said.
"Oh yeah? Well I still have one ace left. Alpha Frenzy Plant!" Ash said as Alpha roars using the ultimate grass attack.
And Empoleon was captured in those thorny vines. "Gotcha!" Ash smiles.
"Sorry Ash but while Frenzy Plant is strong it only does half the damage because my Empoleon is part Steel Type!" Fergus declares surprising everyone.
"Steel Type?!"
"No wonder Emploeon could take all those attacks. Grass-type and Flying type do little to no damage against a steel type." Prof. Oak gasps.
"Oh jeez, he's driven him into a corner!" Tomo panicked.
"And the worst part is since he just used Frenzy Plant he's wide open." Brock gulps.
Ash gulped. "Oh this is gonna hurt.."
"Empoleon, use Flash Cannon once more!" Fergus said.
Firing a powerful beam it smashes into Alpha sending him crashing to the ground.
"Alpha!" Ash yelled. Alpha was lying on the battlefield with swirls in his eyes.
"Venusaur is unable to battle, Empoleon wins!"
"And with that fierce attack Fergus and his Empoleon are starting to control leaving Ash with three Pokemon." Now Ash was no longer in the lead.
"What's Ash gonna do? He can't use Talon again and Fergus still has his Gyarados." Brock said.
"He still has 2 options." Misty said. "Even if one of them is a risky choice.."
"Alright, I'm counting on you. I choose you, Small One!" Ash said calling out the little mouse Pokemon.
"Pikachu!" She squeaks sparking up.
"And Ash's 5th Pokemon is Pikachu! The electric Pokemon who looks charged and ready for battle!" The announcer said.
"An electric type. So obvious." Fergus smirks.
Small One looks to Empoleon, who sharped it's flippers together. "Pika." Small One said with sparks coming out of her cheeks.
"You got this girl, don't let his size get to you!" Ash encouraged her.
"Empoleon Steel Wing!" Fergus said.
"Agility!" Ash said as Small One dashes out of the way dodging all of Empoleon's swings.
"After her, Aqua Jet!" Fergus said.
"Thunderbolt!" Ash said as Small One fires bolts of electricity.
"Dodge it!" While swimming towards Small One, Empoleon swerved and misses the bolts before smashing into her.
"Pi!" She cried out. As Small One tumbles to the ground Empoleon leaps in.
"Steel Wing one more time!"
"Iron Tail!" Leaping up Small One ran along Empoleon's fin and whacks it in the face.
"Empo!" He cringed.
"Drill Peck!" Fergus said.
"Quick Attack!" Small One dashes in at full speed towards Empoleon. "Now dodge it!" Side stepping Small One slides behind Empoleon dodging the attack.
"Thunderbolt!" Ash said. Small One successfully shocked Empoleon from head to toe.
"Empoleon!" Empoleon screams from the super effective attack.
"Ash's Pikachu is the first of 2 Pokémon to put a striking blow onto Fergus's Empoleon!" The announcer said.
"Thanks to her small body and amazing speed Small One is proving quite tricky for the bigger Empoleon." Brock smiles.
"That's why little guy's always prevail." Tomo said proudly.
"Plus it helps that these attacks are doing lots more damage." Misty said.
Empoleon groans as it shakes off the electric move. "Empo!"
"Small One Brick Break!" Ash said as Small One's fist glowed bright.
"Metal Claw!" Fergus said as Empoleon's wings slashed with Iron Tail, and was starting to overpower her.
"Pi.." She growled, trying to give it her all.
"Empoleon use Brine!" Firing a blast of water Small One is sent skidding back.
"Small One, use Light Screen!" Small One stops the skidding by placing a glass wall im front of her.
As Empoleon fires another Brine the wall deflects the damage lessening the blow.
Now she's safe, but also stuck.
"Oh no! Pikachu is being pushed back as Empoleon doesn't let up!" The announcer said.
"That's right. Keep up the pressure Empoleon!" Fergus grins as Empoleon walks further with his water getting larger.
"Small One you gotta break outta there!" Ash said.
"Pikachu.." Small One cringed trying to keep Light Screen up. She had to move somehow. Sparks emitted from her cheeks before they traveled to light screen and caused the barrier to flash briefly blinding Empoleon and giving her the opening to escape.
"Pika!" The same electicty roamed around her tail and slammed it downwards onto Empoleon's head.
"What a combo! Pikachu uses its electricity to super charge Light Screen and distract Empoleon!" The announcer said
"Atta girl!" Ash pumped his fist.
"Pika!" Small One said as Empoleon struggled to get up.
"Empoleon, you can beat that Pikachu!" Fergus said.
"Poleon." Empoleon growls slowly getting back up.
"Pikapikachu!" Small One says ready for more.
"Use Hydro Pump!" Fergus said. Empoleon fires a stream of water out of his mouth towards Small One.
"Small One dodge it!" Ash said as Small One leaps out of the way.
"Oh no you don't!" Moving its head Empoleon blasts Small One out of the sky and to the ground.
"Chu!" She screamed being blasted backwards and impacting the stadium wall.
"Small One!" Ash gasps as Small One coughs up water trying to shake it off.
"Pikachu somehow managed to survive that Hydro Pump! Now that's a fighter!" The announcer said.
"My Pokemon and I don't go down easy." Ash said as Small One agrees.
"Well it will after this! Empoleon, use Drill Peck!" Empoleon spun frequently once more as his beak glowed and extended.
"Small One Thunder!" Ash yells but when Small One builds up tons of electricity she roars and instead of launching the attack she charged towards Empoleon with electricity bursting out of her.
"Huh? S-Small One that's not Thunder." Ash said blinking.
"That's Volt Tackle!" Prof. Oak gasps.
"That was the attack Ritchie used yesterday!" Brock recalled.
"And that means if it hits it'll do a ton of damage!" Tomo gasps.
"PikaPikaPikaPikapika!" Small One roared making her way at Empoleon.
Meeting Drill Peck head on Volt Tackle smashes into Empoleon creating a powerful explosion.
"Small One!/Empoleon!" Both boys shouted out loud.
When the smoke cleared, Small One was panting heavily while Empoleon was laying on the ground with swirly eyes.
"Empoleon is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The ref announced.
"Empoleon is finally down and out! Ash's Pikachu managed to stay strong throughout this rare Pokémon's steely armor!" The announcer.
"Cha.." Small One grew a smile..before it frowns and she falls to the floor.
"Small One!" Ash gasps as she couldn't get up.
"Pikachu is unable to battle!" The ref announced.
"Never mind! It's a draw! Pikachu used up all of its energy to take Empoelon down!"
"Guess all that damage from earlier and the after effects of Volt Tackle were too much." Prof. Oak said.
"And now both our trainers are down to their last 2 Pokemon!" The announcer said.
Ash runs and picks up Small One. "Small One are you okay?" Ash asks.
"Pika." Small One groans.
"I can't believe you learned Volt Tackle." Ash said.
"Pika Pikachu." Small One smiles.
"Well thanks for trying your best." He pets her cheek, which made her "Cha~" in response. "Just leave the rest to us now."
"This battle has me on the edge of my seat." Delia said.
"Yes but I'm afraid Fergus might have the lead in this situation." Prof. Oak said.
"Yeah Talon is still worn out from his earlier matches." Brock realized.
Ash pulls a new Pokéball out. "I know you're tired, but please try to hang in there! Talon, come on out!" Ash throws Talon back onto the field.
"Fear!" Talon screeches.
"Hmm time to win this! Go Nidoqueen!" Fergus said calling out the evolved ground type.
"Nido!"
"Fergus's 5th Pokémon is Nidoqueen! But after Fearow's matches with Vaporeon and Empoleon, can he make it to the end?!"
"You can do this Talon! You're one of the toughest Pokemon I've ever seen!" Ash said.
"FEAR!" Talon gets rid of all of his weariness and cawed out loud, ready to fight.
"Nidoqueen start strong! Sludge Bomb!" Fergus said as Nidqueen launched a powerful poison ball.
"Cancel it with Mirror Move!" Ash said. Firing another Sludge Bomb it collides with Nidoqueen's canceling it out.
"Now aim a Thundebrolt!" Nidoqueen fried a Thunderbolt at her horn towards Talon.
"Aerial Ace!" Diving Talon dodges the electic attack and nails Nidoqueen in the gut.
"Counter!" Fergus said as an orange outline appeared around Nidoqueen as she strikes Talon back with twice the power.
"Ooh that's gotta hurt." Delia winces.
"Sure does. Counter will deliver twice the power of normal damage when the user is attacked by Physical moves." Brock said.
"If Nidoqueen keeps up these powerful attacks Talon won't last long." Prof. Oak said.
"Hey don't count Ash out yet. He can still fight back." Tomo said.
Talon cringed feeling his energy depleted. "Hang in there boy, Focus Energy!"
Talon glares as his body glowed brightly.
"Nidoqueen Double Kick!" Fergus said as Nidoqueen leaps in with glowing feet.
"Dodge it!" Ash swiped his arm, as Talon avoided the feet by gliding underneath Nidoqueen.
"Drop kick!" Fergus said as Nidoqueen dives down.
"Steel Wing!" With a metal wing Talon whacks Nidoqueen away.
She lands in front of her trainer and growled. "Stone Edge!" Nidoqueen roared and punched the ground. Making giant glowing boulders pop up as Talon tried to avoid being impaled.
"Talon Drill Run!" As the boulders came up around him Talon drilled through them with his attack and raced towards Nidoqueen.
"Fight back with Horn Drill!" Fergus said. Nidoqueen's horn spins like a drill and her body becomes surrounded by light blue, spiraling streaks of energy. It then charges to meet on with Drill Run and both made instant contact.
"What a clash of power! Sparks are flying as these two Pokemon refuse to admit defeat!" The announcer said.
'If Horn Drill hits Talon, he's finished.' Ash thought eyes sharpening. "More power Talon!" He yelled.
"Don't let up Nidoqueen you win this and they're done!" Fergus yells. The two Pokémon growled as they continued spinning and spinning with all of their might. Sparks flew all over as they were giving it everything they got.
"Nido." Nidoqueen growls starting to gain the upper hand as push Talon back.
"Fearow.." He struggled.
"Talon don't give up!" Ash said.
"Keep pushing!" Misty said.
"Toge!" Togepi said.
"Fear...FEAROW!" He roared as his body was suddenly his body glowed and burst into roaring flames.
"T-Talon?" Ash gasped.
"Nido?" Nidoqueen's eyes widened as she felt herself suddnely pushed backwards. "What the? Hey where'd this come from?!" Fergus asked.
"What's that?" Ash pulled his PokéDex out and scanned what Talon was doing.
"Sky Attack. One of the strongest Flying-type attacks. Energy is stored in the user before it is, then fired at the newly with a high critical-hit ratio, which may also cause them to flinch."
"Talon learned a new move?" Brock gasps.
"He responded to Ash's desire to win and doing so allowed Talon to learn it." Prof. Oak gasps as Talon broke the lock and sent Nidoqueen flying backwards.
"Nido!" She screamed hitting the ground.
"Nidoqueen!" Fergus gasped.
"And in the end Fearow won this clash of titans but is this the end for Nidoqueen?!" The announcer asks.
"Not by a long shot!" Fergus said angrily as Nidoqueen staggered getting back up. "Nidoqueen, Thunderbolt!"
"Nido!" Nidoqueen fires a powerful electric attack zapping Talon making him scream in pain.
"Now add Surf to it!" Fergus said as Nidoqueen pulls back her hand, forming an orb of water in front of her. She then thrusts her hand forward towards Talon.
"Talon fly up!" Ash said as Talon flew high to avoid the water as is splashed the audience like a Shamu show at Seaworld. Refreshing.
"Talon Aerial Ace!" Ash said as Talon dived down and flew towards Nidoqueen.
"Double Kick!" Nidoqueen jumps and kicks Talon in the face once and twice.
"Fear!" Talon screams falling to the ground in pain.
"Now end this! Chip Away!" Fergus said as Nidoqueen's claws glowed and she charged in.
"It looks like Fearow is finally defeated! Chip Away is somewhat of a finisher move and could smell curtains for the brave bird!"
"Talon Steel Wing!" Using one wing Talon blocks Nidoqueen's claws. "Again!" Using the other wing Talon whacks Nidoqueen across the face.
Making her cringe, head turned.
"Now send her flying with one last Sky Attack!" Ash said fist pumping. Erupting in flames Fearow roars before flying in at max speed ramming into Nidoqueen. She cried out before being impaled into the wall behind Fergus.
"Nidoqueen." Fergus gasps turning around.
"Nido." Nidoqueen groans with swirly eyes.
"Nidoqueen is unable to battle! Fearow wins!" The ref announced.
"Talk about strong willpower! Ketchum's Fearow overcome Nidoqueen's tough handling and defeated her with quick thinking! Leaving Fergus down to his final Pokémon!" The announcer.
"Talon you are amazing." Ash smiles.
"Fear." Talon smiles in thanks.
"He's almost there, he's almost there." Tomo was practically crossing everything on his body so Ash can win.
"But we all know what Pokemon is left." Misty gulps.
Fergus returned Nidoqueen. He looks to his belt and sees his final Pokéball. It was blue with red stripes, a Great Ball.
"Ash this has been one of the best battles I've ever had, but it's time I win this! I choose you, Gyarados!" Fergus yells calling out his best Pokemon.
Fergus's Gyarados roared out loud.
"Toge." Togepi said going into his shell in fear.
"And Fergus final Pokémon is none other than the atrocious Pokémon, Gyarados!" Growling Gyarados' intimidate caused Talon to flinch lowering his attack.
'There's no way Talon can beat Gyarados.' Ash thought figuring out the obvious. 'Guess I have no choice.'
"Alright Gyarados we win this and we're in the Top 4." Fergus said as Gyarados roars ready.
"Talon?" Ash eyes him. The flying "starter" looks to him, thinking the same thing.
"Talon return." Ash said calling him back.
"Ketchum has recalled Pokémon. What is he choosing for his last Pokémon to go against Fergus's Gyarados?"
"Triton I choose you!" Ash yells calling out his own Gyarados. Who he also roared just as powerful as Fergus's.
"What's this?! Ketchum has his hands on a Gyarados as well?!"
Using his Intimidate skill Triton lowered Gyarados' attack. Gyarados growled at Triton, saying he was the almighty one.
"Hope you're ready Fergus, this battle will be settled by who has the stronger Gyarados." Ash said.
"Bring it kid, let's see how skilled you are to handle the power of the king of the seas!" Fergus said.
Both Gyarados roar eager to win.
"Triton Hydro Pump!"
"Gyarados Hydro Pump!"
Starting the battle off strong both Pokemon fire powerful blasts of water which collide in the middle. Making rain pour down from the exploding collision.
"Gyarados use Ice Fang!" Fergus said as Gyarados' teeth turned to ice and used the now soaking wet arena to move in.
"Triton, Flamethrower!" Ash said. Triton blasted out a powerful stream of flames as the intensity melted the icy coating around Gyarados's teeth.
"Twister!" Releasing a tornado it smashes into Triton sending him skidding back.
"Use Dragon Tail and slice through it!" Ash shouts. With a glowing tail, Triton whacks away the twister. He then lashes it at Gyarados, striking him in the face. Who in return, bites down onto the tail. Roaring Triton rams into Gyarados making it let go.
"Hydro Pump!" Ash said. Triton soaked Gyarados with intesity of water, knocking it backwards.
"Dark Pulse!" Firing a dark sphere it flew through Hydro Pump and smashes into Triton. "Now Headbutt!" Continuing the onslaught, Gyarados rams his head into Triton. Falling backwards Triton splashes hitting the ground.
"These two mighty sea warriors are duking it out to prove who is the better Pokémon!" The announcer said.
"I am getting so many amazing pictures." Delia said.
"You know Misty, you could learn a thing or two from this match to help you and your Gyarados." Brock advised.
"Hmm." Misty pulls its Pokéball out. "Maybe.." She hasn't really gotten acquainted with it since she caught him at the Safari Zone.
"Gyarados Dragon Dance!" Fergus said as Gyarados glows red increasing his speed and attack.
"Now use Ice Fang!" Moving in Gyarados bit Triton causing him to scream in pain as ice started to spread.
"Triton!" Ash said.
"Ash better break free or Triton will become an ice sculpture." Brock gasps.
"Triton, try and use Flamethrower!" Ash said.
Firing a blast of flame Triton blasts Gyarados off him and melts quite a bit of the ice.
Gyarados groaned at the singing flames as his Ice Fang was melted once more. "Quick Gyarados, Twister!"
"Triton, Hurricane before he gets the chance!" Ash pointed. Triton. releases a strong gust of wind from his mouth as it striked Gyarados.
As Gyarados was pushed backwards he cringed in pain trying to shake it off.
"Gyarados Hyper Beam!" Eyes sharpening Gyarados fires a powerful orange beam that destroys Hurricane and smashes into Triton.
Triton exclaimed before falling on his back, Ash leaps out of the way.
"Ash!" Delia gasps standing up concerned.
Turning around Ash saw Triton on the ground next to him growling in pain.
"Are you OK Triton?" He asked quickly putting his hands on his scales. Growling Triton looks to Ash.
"Hey you're tougher than this. James didn't want you because he thought you were worthless and weak, but I knew you weren't. You're gonna get back up and you're gonna win this." Ash assures.
The 2nd Gyarados was listening to his master's encouragement and that got his spirits to win this match even more high.
"He's up?" Fergus gasps as Gyarados froze feeling the after effects of Hyper Beam.
"Triton this is best chance! Dragon Tail and hit them with everything you got!" Ash said.
Triton roared as his tail glowed green and slaps it againt Fergus's Gyarados fiercely once and then twice against the head and chin.
That final impact lifted Gyarados off the ground before crashing down next to Fergus.
"Ah! Gyarados!" Fergus exclaimed. Groaning Gyarados tried to get up before falling down again with swirly eyes.
"Gyarados is unable to battle! The winner of the match is Ash Ketchum!" The ref declared.
"What a battle! This match is over and we have our victor! Ash Ketchum and his Gyarados!" The announcer said as the crowd cheered.
"He did it!" His friends cheered happily.
"He's going to the semifinals!" Prof. Oak cheers.
Delia finally calmed down, seeing her son was alright and succeeded into going into the seventh round. "What a relief." She said placing a hand to her chest.
"You really let them kick your butt." Fergus said as Gyarados growls. "Yeah you're a piece of work too." Fergus smiles.
So that's their friendship huh.
"Well Ash, I'm willing to admit it. You were better than me today. Guess Gyarados and I have a little way to go before we're ready to win a league." Fergus said.
"Hey you gave me a real problem with that Empoleon." Ash rubbed his neck "I guess that means I gotta study Pokémon abit more."
"But you weren't bad little man." Fergus playfully punches his arm. "I know you're gonna do awesome in the semifinals." He smiles.
"Thanks Fergus." Ash smiles too and the two fist bumped. Both of their Gyarados both nod their heads at each other for respect.
With this the last 4 trainers were: Corey, Ash, Neesha and Melissa.
The next day, everyone was on the edge of their seat as the last 3 matches were about to happen.
"Go Pidgeot! Sky Attack now!" Corey shouted as his Pidgeot was englufed in spiraling flames before slamming it into a Kangaskhan.
"Kangaskhan!" Melissa gasped before seeing her and her baby fall down with swirls in their eyes. "Total bummer.." She fell to her knees.
"Kangaskhan is unable to battle, Pidgeot is the winner! The victory goes to Green Trainer Corey!" The referee announces.
"Ladies and Gentleman, we have our first finalist for the upcoming last round of the Pokémon League Tournament! Corey is moving up!"
Taking a deep breath, Ash braced himself for his battle against Neesha.
Walking out onto the arena, Ash and Neesha faced off.
"You ready for me Ash?" Neesha asks determined.
"Bring it on." Ash said equally determined.
This is it, if Ash wins this match, he'll be in the final battle and could possibly win.
The battle begun and the two trainers and their Pokémon were giving it their all.
Neesha's Wigglytufff came out first and with a powerful Rollout attack, knocked out Rattle from the match.
Racing in, Trio nailed Vileplume with Drill Peck three times.
With a flop of its tail, Dewgong released Surf that crashed over Rodeo.
Bursting out of the ground Pazder fired Stone Edge at Ninetales sending it flying backwards.
Rapidash and Dash went head to head with their flame attacks, but managed to burn the other out.
Finally we had Shellshocker was firing Hydro Pump trying to hit Spirit who counters with Dragon Pulse.
Back to the normal battle...
The explosion died down to see both Spirit and Shellshocker still standing and looking exhausted.
"Amazing! Folks this has been an amazing battle! Both trainers are down to their last Pokemon and whoever wins will move onto the final match!" The announcer said.
All of Ash's supporters were eyeing the match. "How's he looking?" Misty asks.
"Spirit has the edge with speed but Neesha's Blastoise has more defense which has let it take more hits." Prof. Oak said.
"If only he had a Grass Type here, this match would be over." Tomo said looking nervously at his brother.
"Shellshocker Ice Beam!" Neesha said as Shellshocker fired a glowing blue beam.
"Spirit, Smokescreen!" Ash said. Spirit released a black smoke to avoid getting hit by the icy blast.
Racing to the side Spirit was moving circles around Shellshocker.
"Fire a Hydro Pump around you!" Neesha said.
Aiming both cannons Shellshocker fires powerful blasts of water trying to slow Spirit down but Spirit ducks and charges in.
"Now Spirit Signal Beam!" Firing a multi-colored beam it smashes into Shellshocker making it skid back.
"Shellshocker, Rapid Spin!Recovering from the attack Shellshocker went into its shell and spun like a disk ramming into Spirit.
"Doo!" He exclaimed spiraling backwards from the large impact.
"Now Dragon Pulse!" Slamming to the ground Shellshocker opens his mouth as the energy built up there and in the cannons before firing a powerful attack that smashes into Spirit.
"Spirit!" Ash yelled in horror of his Pokémon.
Falling to the ground Spirit groans with swirly eyes.
"Kingdra is unable to battle! Blastoise wins! The winner of the match is Neesha!" The ref declared.
"And it's over! The 2nd round of the semifinals has been completed and we have our winner! Neesha is moving to the final round to face Corey!"
Eyes widening in shock Ash was speechless...he lost. This was his first ever lost.
"Oh man." Brock said.
"Ash lost." Tomo said in shock.
"Poor guy." Misty said.
"Hmm, something like this had to come eventually." Prof. Oak said.
"I hope he's not too broken up about this." Delia said.
Ash had his head down in defeat and returns his fallen Pokémon. "Good try Spirit.." He said before sighing sadly. 'Man..I can't believe I lost the league. Is this what it's like to lose something so big?'
"Hey Ash." Neesha said getting his attention. "Top 4 is nothing to be ashamed of. That was an amazing battle."
"You really think so?" Ash asks her.
"Oh yeah. Next time you might win the whole thing." Neesha nods.
Hearing this Ash did feel a little better but part of him was still sad that he lost.
Nov 4 "Thank you Neesha." Was all he said. Neesha ruffled up his hair with a smile on her face.
"Grow strong." The last thing she advised to him before walking off of the field.
'Grow Strong..' Ash thought to himself.
Later on...
Ash was at the Pokémon Center, getting his Pokémon healed up.
"Hey Ash, you okay?" Turning around he saw Brock, Tomo and Misty walking in.
"Hey guys..sorry." He said with a sad smile.
"Ash everyone loses once in a while." Brock said.
"For a first league you got really far." Misty said.
"Yeah well, I think I let my #1 Fan down the most." Ash said looking to his little brother. "I'm sorry if I disappointed you Tomo."
"You're still a winner to me big bro and you always will be." Tomo smiles.
Now that grew a smile on Ash's face, feeling even more better. "Oh you." He put Tomo on his shoulders. "Now next time, I want you to cheer for me even harder so that I can win the next Pokémon League."
"Done and done." Tomo smiles.
"And besides, you didn't just reach the Top 4, you also managed to get 3rd Place." Brock informs him.
"Third place?" Ash asks.
"You were the 2nd match of the tournament, so whoever lost, meant they automatically be qualified as the Best 3 Trainers in the whole region." Brock explained, making Ash look surprised.
"M-me? One of Best Trainers in Kanto?" He asks.
"Don't feel like a loser now huh?" Misty smirks.
"Told you, you're a winner." Tomo pointed out.
"Thanks guys I feel a lot better now." Ash smiles.
That's just what Ash needed. Just some nice encouragement from his friends. Now he felt like he could get stronger on his own.
Later on that night...
Everyone and everyone were in Indigo Stadium watching the last battle between Corey and Neesha. "This last battle of the Pokémon League finals are really kicking up steam!" The announcer said. Flying around the area was Shellshocker using Rapid Spin aiming at Corey's Gengar, who leaps out of harms way.
Shellshocker lands on the ground. "Blastoise!" He roared.
"Gengar!" Corey's Gengar fired eye beams at Shellshocker.
"And here comes a Night Shade!"
"Hold your ground and Ice Beam!" Neesha said as Shellshocker took Night Shade before firing Ice Beam freezing Gengar in a block of ice.
"Oh no! Thanks to Ice Beam Gengar is frozen solid!"
Corey grits his teeth. "Gengar, Return!" He said recalling it back to him.
"What will the trainer do now?!" The announcer said as Corey enlarges his next Pokéball and out came Bruteroot.
"Bruteroot Razor Leaf!" Firing multiple leaves they flew across the field pelting Shellshocker.
"Shellshocker counter with Hydro Pump!" Neesha said as two streams of water blew away the leaves and hit Bruteroot.
"Both Starter Pokémon are giving one powerful move after the other!"
"Use Skull Bash!" Neesha said.
"Use Tackle!" Corey said. Both Pokémon had glowing auras as they leapt at each other and made a explosion on collision.
Up in the stands everyone was on the edge of their seats blown away by all this.
There's no telling who will win.
"Solar Beam!/Hydro Pump!" Their trainers yelled. Charging up their attacks both attacks meet in the middle creating an explosion. As this was happening the crowd was cheering for either side to win it all.
"Now Energy Ball!" From the smoke, Bruteroot fires a green ball of energy that flew towards Shellshocker.
"Use Ice Beam!" Firing a blue beam it clashes with Energy Ball freezing it.
"Blastoise!" Shellshocker then grabs it and chucks it at Bruteroot, nailing him in the face.
"Saur!" Hs cried out.
"Now Skull Bash!"
"Vine Whip!" As Shellshocker raced in Bruteroot whacks it away with two vines.
"Shellshocker, Aura Sphere!"
"Energy Ball!"
Flying across the field the two sphere attacks collide creating an explosion. Suddenly Shellshocker sends out a Hydro Pump towards the unexpected Bruteroot, dousing him and knocked him backwards.
"Bruteroot!" Corey gasps as Bruteroot crashed to the ground. His Venusaur struggled to get back upwards. But in the end Bruteroot fell to the ground with swirly.
"Venasaur is unable to battle! Blastosie wins! The winner is Neesha!" The ref announced.
Confetti popped out of their sockets and sprinkled onto the field as the audience roared in cheers.
"IT'S ALL OVER LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! AFTER MANY BATTLES WE HAVE OUR WINNER OF THIS YEAR'S POKÉMON LEAGUE COMPETITION! LET'S GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO NEESHA!" The announcer screamed on the microphone as the entire arena was cheering loudly for the girl who was hugging her Blastoise while cheering for her victory.
"Boy that girl is tough!" Misty clapped her hands.
"She has won the League and my heart!" Brock said.
"When you met that girl months ago, you had no idea she was a champion to be." Tomo said to Ash.
"Not at first, wow she really got better." Ash said.
Oh yes indeed. And Ash wasn't mad at all, if he lost, at least it was too a friend.
And now it was time to finish what was like days to complete. The closing ceremonies of the Indigo League.
"The Pokémon League now bid its farewell to all the trainers and Pokémon who participated in this year's competition. Let's show all of the participants just how much we appreciate their accomplishments at the enter the Indigo Stadium one final time!" The announcer says as all of the competitors march inside of the area as they were all cheered on by the audience.
"Now League President Goodshow will present each trainer with a commemorative plaque. Hold it with pride trainers, you've earned it!" The announcer said as each trainer walked up on stage and received their plague.
"And now give a special shoutout to the top 3 Trainers. In third place, Ash Ketchum. In Second place, Corey and finally to our League Champion, Neesha!" Walking up to them Goodshow gave Ash a trophy that had a Pokéball ontop with a golden conical base around it.
Corey was given a bigger trophy with ribbons on the sides.
And finally Neesha was given even larger trophy resembles a cup with a Pokéball and wings imprinted on each side.
Ash looks to his trophy and reads its contents.
"For amazing battling skills and Pokemon strategy. Ash Ketchum." It read.
Ash had a big smile on his face. It totally fit him.
"Now as this Pokémon League draws to an end, please direct your attention for a very special Celebration in the Sky!" The announcer said one final time.
Behind the flame of Moltres everyone saw fireworks shoot up into the sky.
It was beautiful seeing all of those flashing colors in the sky..however everyone failed to hear a bunch of screaming off in the distance saying, "WE'RE BLASTING OFF IN A BEAUTIFUL BANG!"
And with that..the Pokémon League Indigo Conference has officially come to an end.
The next day, it was dawn. Indigo Stadium was empty to the brim. Everyone had gone home..all except one past participant.
Ash was sitting alone in his seat looking at the empty battlefield. "I can't believe it's all over, it felt like it just started yesterday." Ash thought out loud with a little laugh. "And to think, in the beginning I was just a fresh out League trainer, now look at me." He held up his bronze trophy. "Top 4, walking out with 3rd Place in my first League competition." He said still smiling, wondering if it was all just a dream or not.
Ash had been through a lot to get here. Some good, some bad, some really good and some really bad, but Ash fought through all of it and was able to reach this far.
But next time, he promises to reach the top and get the gold. "I'll get stronger, I'll be a better trainer than I am now." Ash declares to himself.
Suddenly all of his Pokéballs opened up and his Pokémon he had on him appeared next to him. "You guys agree with me too?"
Smiling all of them nod.
"Hey Ash!" Looking across he saw his family and friends waiting for him.
It was time. "Alright guys, time to go. Off to Pallet Town!" He said running towards them with his Pokémon after him.
Our hero fought bravely in his very first Pokémon League Competition.
But was far from the last.
End of Red and Green Arc
Finally done with the Indigo League. I've decided to make it better than what I originally had in the old take. Plus I still wanted to Ash to lose the Indigo League. I want him to develop even more before having him win a Pokémon League.
Also what was your reaction to seeing Fergus having an Empoleon?
And what was wrong with the website earlier last week? None of my favorites were being updated it was really strange. Glad it was fixed so people can see the chapter.
Now next time is the Orange Island Arc and boy have we gotten some surprises for this to make it different.
