Chapter: 9: Demons and the Angel of Darkness
*note: I was running out of ideas for the story as was… soooooo. Time to start from the beginning! S. A. Morley's Corrupted Hero and this story will run semi-parallel to each other.
In the next few chapters I will try to catch up with his story and then the two stories will run parallel to each other.*
"Hello Link." I say.
"Uhh… Hi? Who are you?" He is scared.
"I told you…. I'm Jay Dragmire! We met in the Dreamscape."
"Ooooh. Yea! I remember you now!"
"What year is it? It feels as if the calamity is back!"
"I have no idea. I've apparently been asleep for a long time!"
I then notice that my arms look different from normal… they're…. human! I touch my face, feeling my mask. "At least I still have my mask!" I am standing in a pool of malice. I use my powers to alter my appearance. "At least I have my normal look back." If my mask falls off in any way not only will I lose my powers, but I will die.
I walk over to Link.
"Where to now, Alpha?" I'm taken aback. My mind is remembering things that never happened.
*Cue Flashbacks*
I wake up in the cave we call our home. "Uhh… I am not a morning person… Where's Twilight?" I call out for my mentor. "Alpha?" I am starting to get worried "Alpha?" I call out for him louder. "Alpha!"
My yelling gets his attention. "Out here Pup!" I ran over to him saying: "Hey Alpha! What's for breakfast?" He has a dead deer in front of him. It's yummy smell is one that fills me with happy memories and nostalgia.
"Deer!" He calls back. "All I could find" "I was hoping for that!" I sit next to him, waiting for him to finish cutting the edible stuff out of the animal. "You ready for tomorrow? He asks me. "It's a big deal to meet your ancestors for the first time!"
"I know, I know!" I say. "I'm ready but, I think I need a refresher on where we are going to meet them." His tone became more serious. "I told you a million times! We are going to the spring of courage in the faron province. We are leaving at noon today. After we eat, we will pack our stuff ok?"
I was silent, so he continued. "Our goal is to make it to the dueling peaks stable by dusk." He sounded annoyed. " the next morning we will eat and leave soon after. Then we will have until noon to get there."
"Thanks Alpha." The meat was ready to eat. "Food's done!" Twilight said. "How much do you want? You'll need fuel for the journey!" He said, handing me a korok leaf with meat laid on it.
*next flashback*
"Yumm!" I said licking my lips. "Alpha… will I ever be able to become a wolf like you?" His face lit up. "Well I was going to save this for tomorrow but… oh well why not? He pulled a weird looking rock from his pocket. "This is a shadow crystal. Never lose it. I went through hell and back to get this thing. Midna was not happy to see "a light dweller in the twilight realm"! They almost killed me! Midna put it on a unbreakable necklace for you.
Then as I take the shadow crystal, something flies out of it. "You better not be giving that shadow crystal to this… thing!" Midna says snatching the crystal from Twilight's hands. "Hey! Alpha was giving that crystal to me! Who even are you?!" I said, angry that this imp is touching the gift from my alpha. "And I am not a thing, I am a person!
"Well, well, well, look who's back to being an imp! It's Midna! Pup, this is Midna, Midna this is Wild. He's the 'friend' I was talking about" Alpha says. "He is my direct descendant, and the current wielder of the Tri-force of Courage! I call him Pup because he calls me his 'Alpha'. It's a wolf related thing.
"Charming" Midna says sarcastically "still not going to get this Shadow crystal until I say he is worthy of such a rare thing." "Worthy!" Alpha and I both shout. "Midna I am giving it to him because I deemed him worthy! He killed Calamity Ganon! For the Goddesses' sake Midna just give it back!" Alpha continues.
*last flashback*
"Pup, wake up! Time to eat!" I was too tired to get up. "Five more minutes Alpha." He decided to turn into his wolf form and started to lick my face. "Ah stop that tickles!" I reflex and kick him in the balls, promptly stopping the licking. Only to be licked by Rami two seconds later. "ok, ok I'm up. Sorry Alpha! I didn't mean to kick you! I say still giggling about Rami's licking. "It's… fine… I'm… good… awoooo!" He starts howling in pain. "Is he going to be ok? Time asks me. "Yea. He should know not to stand over me when doing that. It isn't the first time he got a kick to the balls!"
*end of flashbacks*
I fall into the malice under my feet.
"What did you do to me?!"
"All I did wa-" I cut him off.
I grab his mask and try to use my malice to infect him. He resists and turns my malice against me.
I try to escape his hold on me.
I black out.
When I woke up, Link had put me on the bed in the shrine.
"Alpha, are you ok?"
"Yes. I'm good Pup."
He hugs me.
My malice crawls onto my back and becomes my armor once more.
"Thank you pup." I say.
We then leave the shrine and as we do, we see a man. His beard is long and white.
Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule. A peasant. Just what he is. My malice knows what I want it to do. It forms a short blade.
"Hello your highness!" I say sarcastically. "Do not fill my apprentice's mind with your lies!
"I had no intention of speaking to you demons."
My Pup speaks out. "Hey! We're not demons!"
"You speak with a voice that does not belong to you. Speak with your own voice beast!" The fake king says.
"I think you haven't realized who I am. I am Jay Dragmire! The Prince of Darkness! Son of the King of Evil, Gannondorf Dragmire!"
"Once a demon, always a demon!" The man says.
I lunge at him with the blade of malice.
He drops to the ground.
"Pathetic."
"Alpha, why did you do that? He didn't deserve that!"
"Pup, he called us demons. It is my duty as prince to silence threats to me, my father, and you!" I say, as my blade melts back into my body.
"I guess so…." He says, nervous.
"Let's go. I have somewhere I need to go. I think you should meet my father.
I look at my home. I see my father's creation.
Would that mean Calamity Gannon is my brother? Fuck…
Then lead Link to the edge of the plateau.
"Alpha, how are we going to get down?"
"Follow my lead, and you will be safe. I promise."
"Ok…"
I then climb to the top of the wall.
"Grab on tight ok?" I say.
He looks scared. "Are you going to jump?!"
I look back at him and wink.
He nervously grabs my arm and I count us down.
"3…2…1…GO!"
We run to the edge and jump off.
I then fling malice out below us.
It forms a large pool of malice, three feet deep.
We land at the bottom. I missed the pool but link didn't.
I land on one knee, fist at my side, my other fist on the ground. Looking up I see Link, clapping slowly.
I stand up.
"That was awesome!" Link tells me. "That landing was so cool!"
"Thanks Pup."
*Rami's POV (back in the old timeline from ch. 1-8)*
We get to the castle to see that all of Alpha's friends are there. Time, Warriors, Twilight, Wind, Four, and Hyrule. The champions are also there. I sense Alpha's power in them. I miss him. Princess Mipha, Lady Urbosa, Revali, and Daruk are in a sort of comatose.
I place my paw on Mipha's hand.
I think about Alpha. A tear rolls down my cheek and lands on Mipha's hand.
Suddenly, a red light shines from my hand. Mipha coughs and wakes up. I help her up and she gets scared. "I understand your afraid. After all I am a wolf. Twilight translates my barking for Mipha to understand. I sense Alpha's power in him as well. I like this power. I sense healing properties and great power. I sense the power of the Tri-force of power.
It takes great strength to not become greedy for that power.
After we all calm down after my show of healing powers, Mipha explains that Jay Dragmire is keeping the champions alive with his malice.
"Mipha was this Jay person once my Alpha, Link?"
"Yes. Jay was adopted by Gannondorf Dragmire. Jay is acually not here at the moment. He should be in his study. He said that he would be there."
As we talk, a voice comes from behind us.
"If you want to find my son, you'll have to go through me first."
I turn around first. I then walk up to the man.
I hear Midna yelling for me to kill Gannondorf.
Instead, I bow to my Alpha's father. I bow to my Elder. He looks at me, puzzled.
"You are my Alpha's father. I am Rami. I respect you, as you are what us wolves call: the pack Elder. The only thing more powerful than an alpha."
He smiles and bends down to pet me. I allow him.
"You have a lot of power. That power was given to you by my son. He might not have told you this but, he loves you. A friend of Jay's is a friend of mine. I will not hurt you or any one my son has given power to."
I nod, happy that Elder likes me. He then lifts Midna, Wind, Legend, Warriors, and Four and puts them in a comatose state. He does not hurt them even though they do not have Alpha's power. He then places them in large crimson heart-looking things and sets them down. He then looks at Time. He lifts him into the air. "My son accidentally infected you with malice when he broke your rib. That is why it healed so quickly. It will hurt a little to do this, but I must spread this to heal you completely. My son didn't exactly know what he was doing at the time so it wasn't going to ever be able to completely heal you. In fact it would actually keep it from getting better or worse. You will be able to join our pack once I finish."
He looks like the process hurts a lot. But when Elder is done he looks a lot like twilight. A beautiful skull mask, Crimson hair, black armor, and a crimson cape. He then shifts into his wolf form. His golden fur was replaced with a beautiful black. The white patterns he had were now more grayish-black. The horns from his mask were now on his head. He looked good, but nowhere as good as Alpha's wolf form. Twilight shifts into his wolf form. He looks at Elder and begs him for horns on his wolf form. I have to admit his puppy dog eyes are very convincing. I almost want to give him a steak. I
Elder chuckles and gives him horns so they match.
I ask if I could have a human form so I can surprise Alpha when I see him again. Before Twilight can try to translate, he says: "I know what she said Twilight." He turns to me "Yes my friend, you may have a Human form." I then realize I'm getting taller. I feel my snout turning into a mouth and nose. I feel my fur disappearing, and hair growing in it's place. My paws grow and a thumb grows. Elder then brings me a large round mirror. I look at my new form. "I look…amazing!" My hair is black with crimson tips. It reaches past my shoulders. Elder gave me a mask as well. My new horns look as tall as Alpha's are!
"Thank you, Elder."
Then our moment of happiness was interrupted by Midna using the fused shadow to escape the heart-thing she was in. Elder stepped in front of me, to protect me.
"Elder, I can protect myself." I then realized I don't know how to walk as a human. So I shift back to my wolf form, jump on Elder's shoulders, and use them as a step ladder to jump ten feet into the air. I grab the giant octopus-beast with my teeth as I drag it down to the floor from it's gasp on the pillar behind it.
After I subdue the beast, Elder tells me that Alpha would be proud of me. I feel so strong! Defeated, Midna ran off. Elder then proceeded to bring us to Alpha's study-bedroom combo. As we enter we see Alpha being sucked into a portal. I run at it and jump though. The rest follow me. Even Elder.
On the other side, I see Alpha as he and someone else jump off the great plateau's wall. I tell the others I saw Alpha. I lead them to the edge of the plateau.
"There he is!" Twilight says. As we all look down we see him as he stands up after landing. "Alpha!" I yell out to him.
He looks up and says: "How did you guys get here?!" He spreads the malice Pool to his right and yells for us to jump off. "I'll jump first." I tell the others, excited to see my Alpha again.
I jump down and land in the malice pool. I like malice. It's warm and comfortable.
"Alpha!" I say, clearly happy.
"Rami, I missed you so much!" He says sitting on the ground to see me eye-to-eye. "I love your new horns! Did my father give them to you?"
"Yes, son I did." Elder walks out of the malice pool.
"Father nice to see you again."
"Alpha watch this!" I then shift into my new human form.
He's speechless. He starts to blush so heavily that it's showing through his mask.
"Elder told me you had feelings for me, so I wanted to give you a surprise, so… Surprise! What do you think?"
"You look stunning." He turns to his father and he tells him what's going on.
"Did you see a small egg shaped guardian in my study?"
"Yes, why?"
"That guardian sent us back in time to another time line. One where I never get adopted by you." He walks to the other person he was with. "This is Link, in this timeline you had Calamity Gannon give him the gift of malice." I then try to walk to Alpha's new friend, forget it I have no idea how to walk in this form. I fall down, and Alpha rushes over to catch me. As he helps me to my feet, he then helps me learn how to walk.
He is a very good teacher.
*Jay's POV*
I love her.
I will do anything to keep her safe.
I will kill anyone who wants to hurt her.
"Rami, from now on you are the second alpha of our pack, ok?"
She looks so happy. Seeing her like that, she looks like an angel.
She's my Angel of Darkness. Hopefully one day, she'll be my queen.
We are staying in hateno village. Father teleported us there to save time.
I went to see the cave. I forgot that it wasn't there 10 or so years ago.
I noticed that people aren't scared of me.
Father used his powers to mind control all the people there. So we wouldn't be chased out of town.
The kids come up to be and ask me things. One asked me why I'm wearing my skull mask. I told him that it is the crown that the royal family wears. And that I think it looks cool. He asked me if he could have one. I said that didn't have any on me. That was a lie. I can create them with malice. I just didn't want to hurt him. I would be scolded by father. He didn't mind. He told me that I look awesome. I told him that he might want to join the Knights of Hyrule when he's older if he's good with a sword. He told me that he'll train to join when he's older.
Kids are so naive.
I went to the house my father bought. He bought the house so that we could all sleep and not get in each other's ways.
After checking in with the others I decided to wander the town and I found a store that was closing down. I go in.
"Hello and welcome to jewels and gems. Did you need anything?" The clerk says
"Yes, actually! Do you have any necklaces or bracelets with diamonds?"
She nods and leads me to another room. I immediately am drawn to one of the multi-gem bracelets. It has diamonds and rubies in an alternating pattern all the way around it.
"How much for this?" I ask.
"20,000 rupees sir." She says, doubting I have enough to get it.
"Wow, that's cheap!"
She's stunned.
I hand her 25,000 rupees. "Keep the change. This place needs a facelift."
She faints. I Carrie her to a bed upstairs and leave note saying: Thanks for everything. -Jay Dragmire
I leave and head home to see Rami. But first go to see father at the pond.
"Hey dad. Can you enchant this for me?" I sit next to him.
"What do you need enchanted? Is it a ring for Rami?"
"No, but close enough. It's a bracelet that I bought for 25,000 rupees."
"That's cheap!" He laughs. "I knew you would get something for her. Good for you son." He tells me that he's never seen Hyrule when it wasn't at war with him before.
I tell him that before he adopted me this was a cave that I helped mine out.
We become a lot closer than before.
He finishes the enchantment. It now grows and shrinks to accommodate Rami's two forms.
I take it and race over to Rami.
When I get to her she's doing some things around our house and she tells me that she doesn't like having an unclean home unless it's a cave.
I chuckle and hug her and she sees the bracelet.
"Is that for me?"
"Yes, it is Rami. Father made it so it will never slip off while your shifting between forms." I put it on her wrist.
