Chapter 10
….
In the middle of the night while Dante and Trish slept there was suddenly a scream of horror as Dante and Trish shot up awake "Jackie!?" Trish yelled as she and Dante both grabbed their guns and ran to Jacqueline's room and switched on the light seeing Jacqueline there crying but her eyes were glowing red.
Trish ran over to her "baby? What's wrong? We're here it's okay sweetie"
Dante looked around the room just to make sure there was nothing there.
Jackie sobbed out "he was there. He was right there mommy!"
Trish looked worried "who was where baby?"
Jackie cried out she sounded terrified "there was a man his eyes were bright green he was there just grinning at me"
Dante looked furious and immediately walked out of the room looking around the whole building.
Trish stayed with Jacqueline "no sweetie he's not here.. Are you sure it wasn't just a bad dream?"
Jacqueline cried "no mommy… I ..I woke up to get a drink… then when I came back and got in my bed… I saw him he was really there mommy I promise"
Trish hugged Jacqueline "I believe you baby.. It's okay now you're here with me and your daddy we'd never let anyone hurt you"
Jacqueline kept crying into Trish's chest "mommy"
Dante soon came back "there's nobody here..you sure it wasn't a bad dream baby?.." he said, taking Jacqueline's hand and leading her out of her room.
Jacqueline shook her head screaming "it wasn't a dream!" making both Dante and Trish just stop and go quiet.
Dante looked to Trish then back at Jacqueline "here you can sleep in our room with mommy okay?"
Jacqueline asked through her tears "what about you?"
Dante knelt down and hugged her "I'm gonna stay awake and make sure you're safe"
Jacqueline hugged her father crying "daddy…"
Dante hugged her back but then pulled back and wiped her tears away "don't cry baby..I've got you and nobody's going to hurt you okay?"
Jacqueline tried to stop crying "you promise?"
Dante smiled and kissed her forehead "I promise baby.. Now you go to bed with your mom huh? And if you need me for ANYTHING ...just shout for me okay?"
Jacqueline nodded and kissed her father's cheek "okay daddy.."
Trish took Jacqueline's hand "here come on sweetie let's go to bed okay?"
Dante went in with them and properly dressed himself into black leather pants and boots and put on a long sleeve dark red shirt and rolled up his sleeves.
Trish tucked Jacqueline into bed and then walked to the door with Dante and whispered "what if there was someone there?"
Dante replied "that's why I'm going to be downstairs at the desk and like I said.." he talked normally now so Jacqueline could hear him "..if either of you need anything just shout for me"
Jacquline nodded and Trish pulled Dante into a kiss "I love you" she told him.
Dante kissed her back "I love you more...and I love you sweetie" he said walking over and kissing Jacqueline's head "night night ladies" he said leaving the door open slightly as he walked downstairs "I'll see you both in the morning."
Trish dressed herself a little more and then got back into bed next to Jacqueline who immediately cuddled up to her.
When Dante went downstairs he put his guns on the edge of his desk. He looked at the clock and it was 1:34AM. Dante sighed to himself then thought about Meredith and grabbed the phone and rang Vergil and Lady's home number.

Vergil suddenly awoke to the phone ringing and groaned and heard Lady do the same as Vergil reached over and grabbed it "who is this?"
Dante's voice came "hey Vergil it's me .. uhh look I don't want to alarm either of you but I'm just making sure you're safe and the kid's safe"
Vergil replied "why would we not be?"
Dante went silent for a moment "Jackie just woke me and Trish up screaming …. She said she saw ..a man with bright green eyes grinning at her… I don't know if she was dreaming or not but she was trying so hard to convince me and Trish that he was really there."
Vergil sat up when he heard that "I understand… thank you Dante"
Dante told him "don't thank me just… look after them Vergil"
Vergil replied "always… goodnight Dante" he said putting the phone down.
Lady reached up to his shoulder and tried to pull him back down to bed but Vergil stood up "what's wrong Vergil?"
Vergil thought and then replied "nothing is wrong...go back to sleep" he said as he started dressing himself in a pair of black trousers and a black button up shirt and wore a leather black vest over it.
Lady watched him "Vergil it's the middle of the night why are you getting dressed?"
Vergil replied "I'm not tired"
Lady stood up and grabbed one of Vergil's shirts and just wore that.
Vergil asked "what are you doing?"
Lady replied "I'm not tired"
Vergil growled in frustration before saying calmly "Mary…."
Lady replied "don't "Mary" me… you want me to go to bed? Tell me why YOU aren't"
Vergil just stared at her for a few moments before sighing and walking over to her. He gently brought his hands to her face and pulled her into a kiss "I just want to make sure you are both kept safe.."
Lady kissed him back nuzzling her head against his as she asked "from what?"
Vergil replied "Dante said that Jacqueline awoke them screaming … she says she saw someone grinning at her in her room… so I'm staying awake"
Lady looked extremely worried now as Vergil spoke "and THAT right there… is why I didn't tell you" he said walking out of the room and went to Meredith's room and to her cot.
Meredith was there just sleeping.
Lady followed after Vergil and stood next to him as he stared down at their daughter "Vergil.. But I'm sure Jacquline just had a nightmare"
Vergil whispered in response "that is what I thought too and so did Dante and Trish….but Dante said that she was adamant that he was really there.. And so I'm staying awake and it sounds like Dante is too...so go to bed and sleep."
Lady hugged Vergil "I love you Vergil…"
Vergil replied "I love you too.. Mary.."
Lady leaned up and kissed him before leaving to go back to bed but she put her guns under her pillow just in case.
Vergil however stayed in Meredith's room and went and sat in a chair in the corner and switched on a small lamp as he just watched his daughter.

Dante was at his desk with his eyes on the front door but as time went by he started to believe it really was just a dream and sighed to himself and looked at his coin and started just flipping it and catching it in his hand.
Suddenly the phone rang and Dante grabbed it answering "Devil May Cry"
There was no answer at first it just sounded like static until a very familiar Belgium chuckle was heard "how is your daughter… Mr. Redgrave?"
Dante was quiet at first before saying "I'm going to kill you..and this time I'm taking my time to make sure you're dead"
The voice replied "oh you're mistaken … Nazareth..my brother is very dead..and while I did indeed hate him he was still my blood… and so I'm going to kill a member of your family maybe I'll start with your brother that seems only fair."
Dante told him "I'm not apologising for killing your french fuck brother he was a piece of shit and he had it coming…so I'll just warn you.. Fuck with my family and you'll die just like your ugly ass brother"
The voice chuckled darkly "... Mr. Redgrave.. I will see you very soon"
Dante replied "looking forward to it...killing punks like you makes my day"
The voice scoffed and spoke again "if you have anything important to tell your brother I'd call him now...Goodnight Mr. Redgrave" then the line went dead.
Dante quickly called Vergil's home and Lady answered "Dante? Is everything okay?"
Dante told her "no someone's there you have to-"
Lady cut him off as her voice sounded more contorted "Dante? I can't hear y-..." the line then went dead.
Dante threw the phone at the wall in frustration stood up and went upstairs only to see Trish standing there fully dressed holding her guns "what's wrong?" she asked.
Dante said "I gotta go to Vergil there was someone in there with Jackie but he just called and threatened Vergil"
Trish nodded "okay ..you go I'll stay here with Jackie"
Dante kissed her then turned to walk away but stopped and turned back "I..I can't leave you alone.."
Trish smiled "I'll be fine..and so will Jackie.. You forget how strong I am...go baby they need you"
Dante kissed her again hard before running back downstairs grabbing his guns and coat and then took the cavaliere with him and turned it into a bike driving as fast as he could to get to Vergil and Lady.

Lady when she got off the phone with Dante stood up and got dressed this was getting too serious for her to just go back to sleep once she was dressed she went to Meredith's room seeing Vergil sat in the corner "hey baby..Dante just called he sounded worried but the line went dead"
Vergil then stood up and picked up Meredith and handed her to Lady "do not let go of her" he said as Yamato then appeared in his hand.
Lady looked worried "Vergil? What's-." she was cut off as the roof was suddenly torn off and the face of a large demon was seen. It was just a little taller than the house itself.
Vergil as soon as he saw it jumped up through the hole in the roof and slashed through the demon's eye as it fell away screaming in anger and rage. As Vergil landed on it's shoulder he stabbed his sword into it's shoulder before running along the demon's arm cutting all the way through it as he dragged Yamato through the arm till the arm suddenly was split in half.
Lady ran downstairs with Meredith as she cried and screamed in her arms.
The demon looked down at Vergil and swung it's good arm down into the ground to crush Vergil but Vergil teleported a few steps to the left so he was right beside the demon's arm and slashed his sword through a few of it's fingers cutting them off.
Just as Vergil was about to make another attack he saw Dante in the air behind it and landed on top of the demon and pulled the cavaliere into two pieces and swung them into the demon's eyes sawing through them as blood shot out everywhere.
Dante then jumped off the demon landing next to Vergil "you alright? Where is Lady and the kid?"
Vergil nodded "I'm fine, they're in the house still...thank you for the assist"
Dante looked up at the demon who was still covering it's eyes screaming in pain Dante then yelled "ah quit whining ...it will all be over soon!"
The demon then faced where Dante's voice came from.
Dante said "uh oh."
Vergil told him "you are a moron" as he quickly jumped to the side as did Dante as the demon charged towards them.
Vergil spoke up "enough of this,time to die" he said before suddenly he was moving so fast Dante could barely see him anymore. Vergil had stopped behind the demon as the demon had just stopped completely still and Vergil slowly slid Yamato back into it's sheath and just like that the demon fell to pieces before fading away.
Dante spoke up "you couldn't have done that earlier?"
Vergil just scowled as he replied "I can do it twice if you don't silence"
Dante smirked and was about to reply till they both heard slow clapping. Both Dante and Vergil turned to see there was a man on top of one of the other houses wearing a black suit with a green shirt and glowing green eyes "Bravo..Bravo indeed... " he said with a chuckle.
Dante stepped forward "yeah you look just like your brother… ugly."
The man stared down at Dante with that same familiar evil grin "our looks and blood are the end of or similarities ...Nazareth was weak"
As Dante was about to reply Vergil was enraged as this demon had put both his wife and daughter in danger and so Vergil jumped charging through the air.
Dante quickly followed jumping too "Vergil no!"
Nazareth grinned and caught Vergil by the neck and headbutt him twice before kicking Dante back down to ground level sending him flying at a car. He then looked at Vergil still choking him "time has defeated you it seems" he said before throwing Vergil down into Dante who was just standing up knocking them both back down into the car "Sons of Sparda...I'm going to have lots of fun with you" he said before disappearing.
Dante groaned "you okay Vergil?"
Vergil replied "I'm fine"
Dante nodded "good..then get the fuck off me" he said pushing Vergil off him.
Lady stepped out after hearing the noise had stopped "Vergil? Are you okay?"
Dante replied "yeah I'm fine too Lady thanks for asking next time I'm leaving you for dead."
Lady ignored him and went to Vergil who stood up and hugged her "I'm fine now" he said kissing her and then holding Meredith who was still crying a little but at the sight of her father she calmed down.
Dante grunted as he stood up slowly then heard something crack and looked down at his arm which was limp and he could barely move it "ohh fuck..arm's broken"
Lady looked at him and asked "well can't you heal like you normally do?"
Dante said "well yeah but I gotta put it back first.." he said grabbing his wrist and then took a deep breath as he snapped his arm back into place then bit his lip "MMM!.. Fuck! I'm gonna kill that fucker."
Vergil looked back at their home and sighed "I think we'll need to find a new place to live"
Lady glanced at the house "yeah.. I think you're right"
Dante spoke up "well for now why don't you come back with me and you can stay there for awhile?"
Lady asked "are you sure? It will be a bit cramped"
Dante replied "well it's either that or you're homeless so it's up to you"
Lady hugged Dante then "thank you Dante..we'll follow you back"
Dante hugged her back chuckling and started driving.
Vergil went and got in the car as did Lady and started driving following Dante.
On the drive Lady asked Vergil "so who was it?"
Vergil replied "Nazareth's brother...I don't know his name but he seems.. Stronger."
Lady looked back to Meredith in the back seat who looked happy and distracted as she looked out of the window, Lady reached back and tickled her "hey sweetie"
Meredith giggled trying to reach out to her mother.
Lady just gently reached back and held her hand.

Once they were there Dante walked straight in seeing Trish pointing her gun at the door he quickly held up his hands "I surrender.." he smiled.
Trish kept her gun on him though "prove you're Dante"
Dante looked confused "Trish really?"
Trish shot her gun near his feet making him jump "whoa… ALRIGHT! .. I better get a blowjob after this" he said as he was about to prove it but after what he said Trish knew it was him and went and hugged him "oh now you believe me?" he said hugging her back.
Trish smiled and kissed him "I just had to make sure..wouldn't be the first time a demon tried to pretend to be you."
Dante asked "really? Huh you'll have to tell me about those encounters but uhh.."
Vergil then walked in followed by Lady holding Meredith.
Dante said "they're kinda homeless so I'm letting them stay awhile"
Trish shrugged "no problem of course..hey Vergil..Hey Lady..and hey cutie" she said touching Meredith's cheek making her smile up at her aunt.
Vergil went straight to the chair near the couch and took a seat.
Lady went and sat on the couch "hey Trish..here you go sweetie"she said placing Meredith down beside her on the couch.
Vergil wanted to hold his daughter so went and picked her up holding her against him.
Trish sat beside Lady then Dante said "OH.. Trish now would be a great time to do that thing you do and find out what really happened with that..thing you know?"
Trish grinned "excellent idea baby"
Lady asked "what thing that you do? What happened when?"
Trish just stared at Lady giving her a seductive glare.
Lady was about to ask what she was doing but then her mind suddenly went blank and she could not think of anything except Trish.
Trish spoke slowly and seductive "Lady..what really happened on that night where you told me I tried to sleep with you?"
Lady heard it and inside was trying to fight whatever this was but to no avail as her mouth opened "I..Trish. After you tried to kiss me and I pushed you away..you told me how sad and alone you were without Dante..then you begged me to just indulge you a little..and I did..and then we had sex and it was amazing..and I want to do it again"
Trish Dante and Vergil were all completely quiet now as Trish's Mojo was released and then Lady immediately covered her mouth.
Dante then spoke up "let me get this straight ..while I was in hell with this chump..you fucked my wife the mother of my child?"
Lady just kept her hand over her mouth looking embarrassed.
Dante followed with "and ..you want to fuck her again?"
Lady then finally spoke up "Dante ..I didn't mean for things to go that far but once I started I just couldn't stop..I was drunk and so was she it meant nothing to either of us Trish didn't even remember it, it doesn't matter"
Dante replied "doesn't matter that you fucked my wife?" he looked angry
Lady sighed feeling awful "Dante please..I didn't think-."
Dante cut her off "yeah and that's the problem.. What you didn't think I'd mind? Explain Lady speak up"
Vergil said "perhaps if you give her a moment then she will"
Dante told him "shut the fuck up Vergil"
Trish still looked shocked "we had sex?... I knew there must have been more but I didn't expect that much.. Was I any good?"
Dante raised his voice "Trish!"
Trish turned "I'm sorry..I just was curious"
Dante said "about how this bitch fucked you?!"
Vergil stood "don't speak to my wife like that and don't curse again in front of my child your niece ...otherwise"
Dante growled "look Vergil I know this doesn't affect you but it affects me alright I just found out that a woman I treated like a sister has fucked my wife so you want Meredith out of hearing range?..then take her upstairs or get the fuck out"
Vergil just stared at Dante with anger before turning to Lady "Mary ..come with me we're leaving, I'm sure father will accommodate us for the time being"
Lady stood up about to follow but right before she walked out she turned to Dante "Dante..I'm sorry"
Dante glared at her "go fuck yourself…"
Lady's eyes filled with tears as she turned and walked out following Vergil back to the car.
Once they had left Dante just sat in his chair at his desk angry.
Trish turned to Dante "I ..think you might have been a little unfair with her."
Dante looked back to Trish with raised eyebrows "oh really? Should I have thanked her for fucking you?"
Trish replied "no but-."
Dante cut her off "should I have just swept in under the rug and let it go? Let's get this straight Trish the only reason I'm not pissed at you too is because you were drunk out of your fucking mind you didn't even remember it but her? She did and I had to find out this way."
Trish stood up and said "that woman loves you and she said it was a mistake it shouldn't have happened don't you think she was ashamed and upset with herself? Of course she didn't want to tell you she didn't want to hurt you"
Dante said "oh she wasn't trying to hurt me? What the fuck was she trying to make me feel better?"
Trish was frustrated but she understood his anger "Dante please..just breathe calm down...look it's not the end of the world."
Dante stood up with a very venomous smile "oh that's it! That fucking does it! Not the end of the world huh? Hey is there anyone else you fucked sober or otherwise?"
Trish looked shocked "really? Now you're going to get angry with me?"
Dante said "hey I dunno anymore you let those dickheads touch you then tried to fuck Vergil on the same night is there anything else I need to know Trish?"
Trish was about to get furious and reply but then suddenly the memory of Sparda hit her and she went silent.
Dante went from rhetorical to realisation as Trish went quiet "you're fucking kidding me"
Trish didn't know what to say to lie or to tell the truth to him "Dante I love you..and I only want you"
Dante replied "bullshit why'd you go all quiet?"
Trish then thought so hard about what to say but she decided to keep hiding that one truth "because I was about to yell but I don't want to argue Dante..I just want to love you and calm you down"
Dante shook his head "this is.. You fucking said "it's not the end of the world" well if cheating isn't that bad.. Hey I'm gonna go see Lucia" he said walking to the door.
Trish pulled him right back and swung up using her legs to pull Dante down to the ground and he landed on his back with Trish sat upon his chest "Dante..stop..please" she sounded like she was pleading with him.
Dante was about to push her off him but just stayed where he was and sighed looking away to the left.
Trish got a little upset and her eyes filled with tears as she slowly leaned down and rested her head against his chest hugging him "why can't you understand that no matter what happens with anyone else I belong to you? My heart,everything it's yours"
Dante just shook his head "that's not the point Trish.. If I went and fucked someone right now I couldn't just come back and say "hey but I'm all yours still at the end of the day" that's not right and you wouldn't accept that answer from me I mean what do you want me to do here? You want an open relationship where we can fuck who we want?"
Trish replied "No I don't want that I don't want anyone else to have you you're mine"
Dante spoke on, he was very calm "then what? You want me to let you fuck whoever but I only fuck you?"
Trish did like the sound of that but she knew there was no way he would stay married to her with that kind of relationship. She said nothing and Dante went on to say "what you just said about not wanting anyone else to touch me or have me.. That's how I feel about you...you're supposed to be mine, my one and only."
Trish kept her head against Dante's chest "Dante I'm sorry..I'm just ..I'm naturally seductive and when I'm drunk it's harder to control and I get swept off in the excitement. But you knew this is who I am when you married me. It's not as if you didn't know what sort of person I was when you married me."
Dante knew she had a point there. He knew she was a very seductive person and still he made the choice then this was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Dante put his arms around Trish hugging her back "I know...it's in your nature..but I don't want to share you Trish I can look past your flirtatious talk but once someone other than me touches you..that's where I draw the line baby."
Trish nodded "I know.." he leaned up and kissed his lips.
Dante kissed her back moving his hands through her hair and rolled her over so she was on her back and he was over her as he leaned down kissing her more passionately with each kiss "fuck..I love you Trish"
Trish reached up with her hand and caressed his face "I love you baby..you're my life" she said as a tear escaped her eye and rolled down the side of her face.
Jacqueline was at the top of the stairs watching them both "mommy? why are you crying?" she asked her.
Dante and Trish looked up at her "oh hey sweetie no I'm okay I..I just I really love your daddy"
Jacqueline came down knelt next to them "me too though right?"
Dante chuckled "of course we love you too...you're the best sweetheart"
Jacqueline looked happy at that and did her cute little smile that she did "can we have pizza daddy?"
Dante said "as awesome as that would be I think you're forgetting it's still morning baby" he laughed.
Jacqueline giggled "oh yeah you're right haha"
Trish pulled Jacqueline down hugging her "c'mere baby"
Jacqueline hugged her mom back as Trish leaned up till Jacqueline was now between her mother and her father.
Dante held them both lovingly "oh you girls.. What would I do without you?"

As Vergil drove with Lady and Meredith Lady was still sniffling as she was upset that Dante was mad at her.
Lady turned to Vergil and said, "Vergil, are you mad at me?"
Vergil replied "no we were not together then..why would it bother me? If you have had sex with Trish since us getting together then I would be bothered"
Lady shook her head "no it was just that one time..I never let it happen again"
Vergil asked "mmm..you said you wanted to do it again though"
Lady said "well..I ..no I don't I mean I just..it was really amazing when me and Trish did that I loved it but I'd never cheat on you Vergil"
Vergil nodded "I believe you" he said as he then arrived at Sparda's residence.
Lady got out and picked up Meredith from the back seat "hey sweetie..we're going to go see grandpa"
Vergil got out the other side and walked over to the door and was about to knock but hesitated.
Lady asked "what's wrong?"
Vergil was thinking of this Mirila and wasn't sure what to expect "I..nothing" he said as he then knocked on the door.
….
Sparda and Mirila were eating at the huge dinner table when they both heard the knock.
Mirila looked to Sparda with an excited expression "could be Dante..could be Vergil"
Sparda replied "and if it is then it is.."
Mirila scoffed "well I'll be happy to see them"
Sparda stood and walked through the house to answer the door and when he did he saw Vergil with Lady and Meredith "hello Vergil..Mary please come in"
Lady smiled "thank you dad..umm we have to ask you something-.."
Mirila gasped from the other doorway "wow..Vergil..look at you you remind me so much of your father"
Vergil once he saw her his mind flooded with hazy and blurry images memories "..you ..you were there"
Mirila looked even happier "you remember me? it's so good to see you again" she leaned up and kissed his cheek.
Vergil replied "a little..I don't remember much..but your face..I remember it"
Mirila grinned "haven't aged a day have I?..but you..look at you.. So big so strong" she said touching his chest and shoulders then his arms.
Lady said "whoa..hey could you stop feeling up my husband?"
Mirila's eyes flickered between dim and bright as she turned to Lady "husband?... you married a human? I'd have never expected that"
Vergil was about to speak but Lady interrupted "what's wrong with humans?"
Mirila walked towards Lady standing taller than her "they're weak and fragile and they don't last very long in the end" she said almost threateningly till Sparda pulled Mirila a few steps back after grabbing her arm.
Sparda asked her "just what do you think you are doing?"
Mirila replied "I'm sorry I'm sorry..I just lost myself a little bit..but she interrupted me speaking to Vergil she has no manners"
Sparda replied "if I were touching you in front of your lover I think they might interrupt too"
Mirila grinned seductively and replied "you can touch me as much as you like.."
Sparda sighed and gently released his hold on her arm "Mirila…" he said
Mirila groaned "fine..I'll flirt later"
Mirila slowly walked back over to Lady "I apologise..I haven't seen Vergil since he was just a young boy..I've missed him..I got a little ahead of myself"
Lady glared back at her but then looked confused "a young boy? Who are you?"
Mirila smiled "I'm Sparda's girlfriend isn't that right..lover?" she turned grinning at Sparda
Sparda replied "ex...a very attached ex"
Mirila sighed "fine...I used to be his lover long before he met that.." once Mirila saw Vergil again she changed what she was about to say "..that beautiful woman that is Vergil's mother."
Sparda showed Vergil and Lady to the living room "come..if she is going to tell a story you will want to be sat down for it" he said as they followed him into the living room and sat down on the couch while Mirila and Sparda sat in the chair in front of the fireplace.
Mirila went and sat near Vergil just smiling at him before she said "well Sparda..do you want me to tell OUR tale of how you left me or shall you?"
Sparda just closed his eyes breathing in before he started to talk.
*Flashback
A long time ago in the human world.
Mirila had been with Sparda for well over a decade but once Sparda had turned against the demons Mirila turned against them with him but she became jealous of the humans as she saw Sparda with them saving them and protecting them.
It bothered her because in her mind she saw it as a betrayal that he seemed to care more for them than he did for her and so she confronted him one day.
….
Sparda was sitting in his chair reading a book till he heard the screams of a woman and a door being kicked open. Sparda quickly stood from his chair and walked to the door of the house seeing Mirlia holding a human woman by her hair "what do you think you are doing?" He sounded calm but the tone he used showed he was furious.
Mirila pulled out a dagger and held it to the woman's neck silencing her screams "making you listen to me...I've had enough of you treating me like nothing."
Sparda replied "this is how you make me listen? You could have just come and spoken to me"
Mirila raised her voice as her eyes glowed intensely white "SHUT...UP!..you don't touch me anymore you ignore me you spend no time with me you spend all your time with these ..weak pitiful things!"
Sparda responded "Miri..stop..let her go and come to me"
Mirila just got angrier when he called her that "NO! ..you're just trying to trick me.. I'm not having it. I will not be made a fool of any longer..choose right now is it them or me?"
Sparda watched as the dagger Mirila was holding drew blood from the woman's neck "Mirila ..let her go we can talk about this..take the knife away from her"
Mirila's voice changed as it sounded darker and demonic "Stop it!..." she yelled as she closed her eyes breathing in.
Sparda then moved so fast Mirila didn't even open her eyes again before he pushed his palm flat against her chest sending her flying across the room into the wall then she fell against the floor dropping her dagger.
Sparda helped the woman to her feet "go home..now" he told her as the woman ran out of the doors and away from the building.
Mirila was making a sound as her shoulders were shaking it sounded like she was laughing but when she looked at Sparda there were tears coming from her eyes "I'm sorry...I was scared you barely spend time with me anymore..you love them more than you love me"
Sparda replied "I didn't.."
When Mirila heard "didn't" she froze as that was a word only used for past tense "didn't?.."
Sparda told her "you would kill a human just to get my attention? Make me choose between your life and hers just to prove I care?...we're done"
Mirila's eyes widened and she suddenly rose to her knees clinging to his waist "no no..Sparda I'm sorry please..forgive me I won't do it again I promise..don't leave me...I love you"
Sparda looked careless "get out..leave and do not come back" he said before pulling away from her and walking away
Mirila screamed as he walked away from her but it didn't stop him.
*End of flashback
Vergil looked to Mirila "..but you did come back."
Mirila turned to Vergil nodding as a tear escaped her eye "mmhmm… I changed myself. I swore to myself I'd never bring any harm to an innocent human ever again. but by the time I did it was too late I saw Sparda standing with Eva..watching two young white haired boys playing with wooden swords" she smiled as she said that bit looking into Vergil's eyes "… my heart broke"
Sparda's chair was turned away from them but as he listened to Mirila he felt horrible inside he was sad for her.
Mirila went on to say "I left that day again..but I came back a few days later I was just watching you and Dante from a distance I saw you both leave the house and walk into the forest ..so I followed you staying in the trees. Then demons came and and tried to attack you and Dante...that's when I came out"
*Flashback
Mirila watched the boys playing with each other fighting with their swords and smiled looking down at them till then she saw demons come out of nowhere and they moved towards Dante and Vergil who both started to panic and move back in fear.
Mirila was furious as she jumped down and pulled out two daggers moving so fast charging at the first demon she saw and stabbed it in both it's eyes before pulling out the daggers and kicking the demon into three others.
Vergil and Dante looked up at her "who..are you?" Vergil asked
Mirila turned to the boys and then smiled down at them both "I'm Mirila.. I'm going to keep you boys safe..I promise" she then turned seeing the demons getting up and moving towards them "stay there behind me both of you" she told them as she charged forward tearing every demon apart she was vicious.
Once she had killed them all Dante and Vergil both came out of hiding and ran to her clinging to each of her legs.
Mirila felt them cling to her through her dress and couldn't help but smile. She felt so happy inside as she knelt down to them so she was level with them "what are your names?"
Dante spoke first, "I'm Dante" he said sounding upbeat and happy.
Mirila smiled at him and caressed his cheek "hello Dante...it's nice to meet you"
Vergil remained quiet making Mirila frown "and..what is your name?"
Vergil sounded hesitant and not happy like Dante "..Vergil"
Mirila leaned over and kissed his cheek "it's lovely to meet you Vergil"
Vergil went red when she kissed his cheek and blushed.
Dante said "hey ..I want a kiss too"
Mirila giggled and kissed Dante's cheek; he looked so happy once she did.
Mirila then stood slowly and took both their hands "come with me boys I'll get you both back home"
Dante and Vergil both took her hands and walked with her.

Once they had gotten back Eva could be heard calling for Dante and Vergil sounding worried.
Eva saw them holding hands with someone she didn't know and gasped.
Dante and Vergil ran to their mother once they saw her "Mom!" they both called. Eva hugged them both once they were there "you silly boys I was so worried about you..where did you go?"
Dante said "we were playing in the forest..when monsters came and found us ..and then Mirila came and saved us"
Eva looked past them to Mirila who was now standing right before her. Eva saw her eyes were white and knew she wasn't human "umm..thank you for saving my boys..my name is Eva"
Mirila just stared at her but just before enough silence had passed to make Eva uncomfortable a call was heard "Eva?"
Sparda had run over to them and and kissed Eva and didn't notice Mirila then he knelt before the boys "you should be more careful..the pair of you"
Dante looked saddened as he hated it when Sparda raised his voice at them.
Eva said "Sparda.." as if bringing his attention to something.
Sparda looked up then saw Mirila just staring at him "Mirila?"
Mirila smiled then as her heart skipped a beat.
Eva asked "you know her?"
Sparda replied "I do..and I told her never to come back"
Mirila's heart sank at this before Dante and Vergil came running to her side "she saved us dad..she killed all the monsters" Dante said.
Sparda looked confused and then turned back to Mirila "why?"
Mirila finally broke her silence "because I love these boys...they're cute…. and they remind me of what I lost..or what I could have had" she said staring at Sparda.
Dante said "she gave us kisses.. Mine was better than Vergil's"
Vergil replied "was not"
Dante said "was too!"
Mirila giggled "boys ..please don't argue"
Eva spoke up "why don't you stay for dinner? It's the least we can do for you after all you saved our boys"
Mirila looked to Sparda as if awaiting permission.
Sparda sighed "fine.."

Mirila then stood up "excuse me for just a moment.." she said, turning away as tears flooded her eyes she left the room.
Sparda stood up slowly and followed after her, once he caught up to her he gently took her arm "Miri.." he said.
Mirila turned to face him and he saw she was crying. Sparda put his arms around her hugging her against him as she sobbed into his chest "I'm sorry.."
Sparda kissed her head "for what?"
Mirila cried "for everything...I never-.."
Sparda cut her off "shhh...it's okay, everything..is okay"

Even Lady felt sad for Mirila after hearing her story.
Vergil was processing it all in his mind.
Lady asked "you don't remember her?"
Vergil replied "very..very vaguely...but if what she says is true..then.."
Lady said "then what?"
Vergil shook his head sighing "I don't know"
Once Mirila came back with Sparda she sat beside Vergil and wiped her eyes before saying "so..umm..is this beautiful little girl yours Vergil?"
Vergil turned to Meredith and nodded "yes"
Mirila looked to Lady "may I?" she asked.
Lady nodded "of course" she handed Meredith to Mirila who smiled down at the child.
Mirila stood up and gently rocked her in her arms "hello little beautiful girl"
Meredith reached up trying to touch Mirila's face and yanked a bit of her hair making Mirila chuckle.
Lady asked "so..umm dad are you and Mirila together now?"
Sparda was silent at first "she's living with me.." that's all he said.
Mirila wondered why Sparda was hesitant to answer of course he knew what Lady really meant so why not answer but she chose to say nothing about it she would enquire later.
Sparda then asked "so..what are you both doing here? Mary you were going to ask me something earlier?"
Lady gasped "oh..I completely forgot..umm our house was destroyed"
Sparda stood up and turned looking shocked "..I think I'd remember something like that..what happened?"
Vergil spoke up "Nazareth had a brother..and he wants revenge"
Sparda sighed "I see….well you are more than welcome to stay, there is a guest room upstairs and another for Meredith"
Lady went and kissed Sparda's cheek "thanks dad"
Sparda smiled back at her "of course.."
Lady patted Vergil's shoulder "come on we should go get some things from what's left of the house"
Vergil stood and followed her before turning "thank you father.."
Sparda nodded "of course son"
Once Lady and Vergil left to pick up some things from their home Mirila turned to Sparda "so if..they get the guest room..then-"
Sparda cut her off "I will stay down here you can have my room"
Mirila replied "Sparda...why can't we share a bed?"
Sparda responded with "I'm not sure that's a good idea.."
Mirila asked "and why when the human asked if we were together you didn't answer what she was asking?"
Sparda didn't reply and just kept his eyes on the fire.
Mirila just smiled and leaned down and kissed his lips. Sparda did not stop her or push her away and eventually he kissed back.
After a few moments Meredith started to whine making them break their kiss Mirila smiled at Sparda looking into his red eyes before turning her attention to Meredith "what's all the fuss little one?" Mirila said looking down at Meredith.
Meredith made little cute whining sounds. Mirila kissed her forehead making her smile "mmhmm you just wanted some kisses too didn't you?" she said kissing her cheek then her other cheek then her nose "there you go sweetheart"
Sparda watched her and soon rose to his feet and walked over to Mirila and pulled her by her hips so her back was against his chest making her gasp as she looked over her shoulder seeing him he didn't say anything he just held her and rested his head against hers and she did the same smiling to herself.

Dante and Trish after they had calmed down and made up just sat with each other on the couch kissing while Jacqueline was in her room.
Trish then asked "Dante do you think of Lucia?"
Dante groaned and laid his head back looking up at the ceiling "ugh Trish.."
Trish quickly said "No I'm just asking.. I mean do you think about her at all?"

Dante then said "mmhmm yeah .. by the way remember that demon that took Jackie? Yeah he's got a twin who's very angry and is looking to hurt anyone I might care about so uhh good luck Nero"
Nero sighed "ugh for god sake Dante can't you stay out of trouble for-.."
Dante said "whoa what the fuck? I've not even thought about that fucker for 4 years what you mean "can't you stay out of trouble?""
Nero was about to retort when Trish stood up "Nero.. it's good to see you, we're glad you're back say hi to Nico for me"
Dante muttered "just don't go to your old man's place"
Nero looked over Trish's shoulder at Dante "what was that?"
Dante said "uhh demon destroyed your old man's place.. Don't worry everyone's fine your sister is safe your stepmom is a bitch and your old man.. Well you've met him they're with your grandpa if you wanna go see them"
Nero replied "Jesus christ how much shit happened while I was gone?"
Dante replied "... lots… bye now I was gonna have sex with Trish before you walked in"
Nero just shook his head mumbling as he left.
Trish turned to Dante "you were?"
Dante replied "hmm?"

Renial chuckled before replying "oh Trish.. I can see why my brother was so obsessed with you.. "
Trish replied "yeah I have that effect on people...but I'm afraid I'm spoken for, but don't worry I'm sure there are alot of other demonesses out there that would love you"
Renial grinned on the other side of the phone "I have an offer for your husband"
Trish smirked "I doubt he'll accept but hold on a moment…." she turned to Dante "it's for you baby"
Dante took the phone "what now?"
Renial repeated "I have an offer for you"
Dante said "go on then"
Renial replied "surrender yourself to me and everyone else will live"
Dante went quiet "uhh.. I'm gonna have to think about that.. Call back in a week"
Renial said in a serious tone "one week.. And then time is up"
Dante put the phone down "uhh Trish we should-.."
Dante was cut off by the front door opening and Lady entered hesitantly and looked straight to Dante who started to sing "The bitch came back the very next day Oh, the bitch came back Thought she was a goner But the bitch came back She couldn't stay away Don't you know the bitch came bac-"
Trish raised her voice "Dante!"
Dante replied "what? You're lucky I only sang the chorus"
Lady was upset more by that but she endured it "Dante can I talk to you?"
Dante said "no but you can leave"
Trish walked over to Dante whispering "just listen to her at least you don't have to talk back to her just hear her out… please"
Dante sighed heavily "UGH!... fine talk but please be quick I had a poem I wanted to write" he started laughing a little after he said it.
Even Trish giggled a little at that.
Lady couldn't help but smile but her sadness quickly came back as this is what she would miss if he didn't forgive her "Dante.. It hasn't even been a day and I miss you like crazy.. Is there anything I can say that will make you.. Forgive me again and for us to be like we were?"
Dante sighed again "I don't see it.. Lady you were like a little sister to me not just because you married Vergil it was even before that.." as Dante spoke Lady's eyes filled with tears ".. but then you go and ruin it by betraying me.. I can't trust you anymore it's not even like you told me willingly if Trish didn't have her mojo I'd have never known about it cause you would never have told me…. but"
Lady perked up when she heard the but.
Dante said "after what I just spoke to that prick about… I don't want us to be on bad terms so.. We're okay but I don't trust you anymore how's that?"
Lady was confused "no wait Dante you've known me for years I've always had your back I make one mistake and that's it? All those years down the drain"
Dante said "you fucked my wife you're out of my life… so for me to let you off with just "I don't trust you" is a lot"
Lady shook her head "I was drunk Dante we both were how come Trish gets a pass but not me?"

Dante turned and walked towards the kitchen Lady grabbed his shoulder and turned him to face her "don't walk away from me like I'm nothing."

Lady said "just tell me what I have to do and I'll do it"
Trish looked to Dante just giving him a pleading look.
Dante sighed "it's not that easy though .. trust isn't a switch I can just turn off and on… I said we're okay now, what more do you want?" Lady looked down as she started to get upset.

Dante let go of Lady and slowly went and sat in his chair "uhhh … he said.. Well he offered me a deal and I was tempted to take it … told him I'd have to think about it so I got a week to decide"
Lady asked "what was the offer?"
Dante didn't answer and then Trish said "Dante… what did he say?"
Dante shook his head "... oh god that I can't tell you"
Trish stood and walked over leaning over Dante "tell me now"
Dante said "oooh scary.." he chuckled "Trish.. Girls look I'm not telling you cause if I do it you'll try and stop me"
Lady's face suddenly dropped as did her heart "he asked you to give yourself up"

Dante stood up and grabbed Trish's face "I'll think about it chill the fuck out"
Trish jumped up and slammed him down onto the desk and landed on top of him "you are not leaving me or your daughter alone ever again… that's what you said you promised"
Dante went quiet again at that "..."
Trish told him "so as I said there is nothing to think about…" she said as her hair hung over her shoulder and tickled the side of Dante's face.
Dante looked up at her entranced by how beautiful she looked "I don't know what I was thinking baby.. I am so stupid.. I-.."

Dante and Lady both left then and got on their bikes just before Lady started her bike Dante laughed "hey Lady … wanna race?"
Lady smiled "oh you're on Dante"
Dante chuckled "you're going down sis"
Lady felt amazing hearing him call her that again "on 3?"
Dante nodded as they both started their bikes.
Lady then suddenly said "3!" and then just drove off.
Dante yelled "you cheating bit-.." Dante quickly drove off after her.

Lady was nearly at Sparda's home now she couldn't even see Dante in her mirrors anymore.
Just as she saw Sparda's home she saw Dante was already there just leaning on his bike "fucking finally!" he yelled laughing afterwards as Lady stopped in front of him.
"You cheated!" she said as she got off the bike.
Dante said "I cheated? You fucking left before the count"
Lady said "no I said on 3 I never said I'd count to 3"
Dante just went quiet till they both started laughing and Dante hugged her "oh .. I missed you I miss this"
Lady hugged him back immediately "I missed you too.. I'm really sorry for what happened but I would never intentionally try to hurt you"
Dante smiled "well thank goodness I've seen what happens to the things you do want to hurt"
Lady smirked at that "are you coming in with me? I really think you should talk to Mirila she told me and Vergil how she knew you back when you were young"
Dante thought about it and checked the time "hmm alright I've got time"
Lady walked with Dante inside "dad.. I brought a guest"
Sparda stood at the top of the imperial staircase "ah Dante.. "
Dante waved "hey dad.. Where is Mirilia?"
Mirila came from the living room "Dante!" she seemed very happy to see him.
Dante saw her "oh.. Hey so.. You gonna tell me who you are now?"
Mirila smiled taking his arm "absolutely.. Come with me" she said leading him to the living room sitting next to him on the couch "Dante.. How much do you remember of your childhood?"
Dante replied "some bits and pieces here and there… but I don't remember you"
Mirila frowned "well maybe I can jog your memory" she said as she gently held up her hands and placed her thumbs over Dante's eyelids as Mirilia's eyes started to glow intensely.
Dante was having memories flash in his mind,Mirila was showing him her memories but one of them stood out from the rest…
Flashback*
A long time ago
Mirila watched from afar seeing Dante leave his school but on the way home a few older boys started to pick on Dante on an empty street.
Dante kicked one of them in the balls though as he fell to the floor in pain but one of the other two struck Dante across the face making Mirila enraged as she jumped down from the roof.
She quickly made her way over to the two boys on their feet and grabbed them by their hair and slammed their heads together "you pathetic unaborted brats .." her eyes glowed as they both moved back in fear "you come near Dante again.. I will bring happiness to your parents by ending your pathetic lives"
They boys picked up their friend and ran in fear "that's right run you little cowards… your parents don't even love you" she then turned to Dante "are you okay my sweet?"
Dante nodded "I'm okay they don't hit very hard"
Mirila chuckled hugging him "they hit like humans of course it doesn't hurt… but I still won't allow anyone to hurt you least of all pieces of filth like them" she leaned down and kissed his cheek where the bullies punched him "feel better my love?"
Dante smiled up at her "yes.. Thank you,I love you Mirila" he said hugging her.
Mirila smiled as tears welled up in her eyes "I love you too Dante"

Mirila then let go and Dante's eyes were wide and he panted. He just stared at Mirila for a moment before hugging her hard making Mirila gasp "ohh Dante.."
Dante muttered "how the fuck did I forget any of that?" he said hugging her tighter.
Mirila smiled and started to cry a little "you have no idea how much I missed you" she sobbed.
Dante said "about as much as I hate that I forgot you"
Mirila smiled hugging him closer "please come by more often I'd love to see more of you"
Dante slowly pulled away "absolutely… uhh are you and dad-.."
Mirila smiled and put her finger to his lips "I don't know… but would it bother you if I was?"
Dante shook his head "no I.. I mean I'd be happy for him and you"
Mirila was pleased by that "good… "
Dante stood "well I.. I have to go, I was on my way somewhere."
Mirila nodded and kissed his cheek "bye Dante I hope you'll come back soon"
After Dante had left Mirila walked up the stairs to the library where she found Vergil reading in a chair. She went and sat next to him "hello Vergil…"
Vergil looked up from the book "Mirila.."
Mirila smiled at him "would you mind if I share something with you?"
Vergil turned to her "I suppose"
Mirila put her hands to his head and her thumbs over his eyelids as she shared her memories with Vergil.
Vergil saw everything and remembered some of it but the one that had the biggest impact on him was the one where he wasn't there.
*Flashback
Mirila after being away for so long she came back to the human world to see Dante and Vergil and a little of Sparda too if she could but when she got to the home she gasped in horror it was on fire and it fell to pieces before her eyes as she screamed at the sight.
She ran to the house or the remains of it rather and looked through it hoping her boys were okay "Vergil!.. Dante! No no NO!" she screamed searching frantically for the boys.
Hours went by and she found nothing. She fell to her knees screaming at the sky in rage and sadness.

Vergil panted for breath as Mirila released him all his doubt was eliminated as he looked into Mirila's eyes and saw her just smiling at him.
Vergil gently took Mirila's hands in his and kissed her knuckles before leaning his head down against them before saying to her "why didn't you just do that in the first place?"
Mirila and him both started to laugh after that "I wanted to see if you'd remember on your own… oh Vergil my Vergil… I missed you"

Sparda was just watching Lady from where he stood till eventually she saw him and gasped "ohh.. Jesus Dad"
Sparda walked in "I apologise."
Lady asked, "Is something on my face? what's wrong?" she smiled
Sparda asked "no I was just wondering .. how old are you Mary?"
Lady replied "I'm 41.. Why do you ask?"
Sparda looked worried all the sudden and Lady asked "what? What is it?"
Sparda shook his head "I'm .. I'm just worried about you"
Lady went and sat next to him "why?"
Sparda replied "because you're human.. It must be strange for you to see everyone around you cease to age while you do"
Lady asked "what.. Are you getting at?"
Sparda kissed her head "I don't want to see you go that is all.. And you make Vergil very happy."
Lady hugged Sparda "if I go..then I go… dad please don't say anything about that to Vergil just in case it hasn't crossed his mind."
Sparda nodded "of course.. But how will you deal with it when it does?"
Lady kissed Sparda's cheek "I'll think of something.."
Sparda went quiet a moment before asking "does that something involve a bedroom?"
Lady gasped "Dad!" she said shocked making Sparda chuckle.
Lady just smiled to herself as she walked away.

Dante after he left went to Nero's place grinning as he walked to the door and then started knocking really fast and annoyingly.
Nero answered the door "Dante.. Ugh what the fuck was that about?"
Dante replied "thought you might have been fucking Nico so I knew I'd have to be extra annoying to get your attention"
Nero sighed heavily "what do you want?"
Dante replied "well it's good to see you too Nero… but I ain't here for you … where is Nico at?"
Nero led Dante inside "she's working.. "
Dante asked "and what were you doing?"
Nero replied "minding my own business … you should give it a try sometime"
Dante walked ahead to Nico's workshop but said over his shoulder "you should try sex sometime.. Makes you happy"
Nero yelled "one day I'm gonna shoot you"
Dante called back "one day you'll shoot your load.." he said as he walked into Nico's workshop and saw sparks flying as it looked like she was making something she didn't notice through her welding mask but Dante was standing right next to her "looks good!" he said.

Dante smiled "they're good uhh I'm actually here for your help on something… I want you to make a new weapon for Trish.. Cause since I took back the Sparda and kinda infused it into me… well she's been left without a weapon so..I would like to pay you to make a new weapon just for Trish"
Nico had a devilish smile on her face "I am so glad you said that I have had loads of ideas on something for Trish...check it out"
Dante watched as Nico started pulling out all these diagrams of different weapons "whoa.. Nico you truly are the artisan of arms"
Nico chuckled "I'm gonna be as good as my grandma you'll see"
Dante smirked "well you're going to love the next part then cause I'll be asking for dad to help you out with this he's got a knack for making amazing weapons and I figure you two together will come up with something awesome"
Nico looked shocked but then extremely excited "you're gonna get Sparda to help me? Oh I hope he teaches me some things"
Dante chuckled "well you can ask… I'm sure he won't mind but for now let's pick out an idea first ohh fuck… I had a bag full of things that might help. I'll bring it next time but anyways keep this a secret don't tell ANYONE Nico… cause Trish can't know"
Nico leaned over and whispered "oh so it's a hush hush secret huh? What you gonna do to keep me quiet?"
Dante smirked "hmm ..well what do you want?"
Nico replied "you gotta let me take a look at all those devil arms you got"
Dante straight away said "deal! But only after you've made Trish something new and awesome"
Nico said "well what do you think she'd like? A new sword? A whip? A whip blade?"
Dante said "ooh a whip blade huh? I think Trish would love that and it would suit her perfectly"
Nero then walked in "what would suit who perfectly?"
Dante and Nico quickly covered the diagrams and put them behind themselves "what are you two talking about?"
Dante replied "nothing special why you gotta be such a nosey pest Nero?"
Nero said "come on what are you two hiding? Nico come on"
Nico said "ain't nothin going on down here you need to know about"
Dante smirked "exactly so go on get outta here..shoo"
Nero started walking away hesitantly but then said "you know I live here right?"
Dante said "mmhmm.." he nodded as Nero walked out then Dante turned back to Nico "phew..so like I said don't tell any of them except me or Father anything"
Nico replied "I know I know..I got it"
Dante said "alright I'll go back and get the stuff I had and then I'll go see Father and ask him to come by"
Nico clapped her hands together "perfect now go on hurry up I wanna get to work on this..this is gonna be amazing when I'm done with it."
Dante then got up and left walking past Nero on the way out "back soon Nero"
Nero groaned "what? You're coming back?!"
Dante chuckled "you know it kid"

A little while later
Trish was alone on the couch back at Devil may cry she missed Dante and was going to call him but just then he walked in "hey baby..where have you been?" she asked him.
Dante said "I've been with Nico and I gotta get back to her ..so I'm just gonna grab some stuff and then I gotta go"
Trish looked upset hearing that "wait you're leaving again? But you haven't even been here a minute and you're going back?"
Dante walked downstairs to the basement where he kept all his private things like devil arms and such "yeah.. Don't worry Trish it's fine"
Trish followed him "no it's not fine you haven't even had dinner or anything to eat"
Dante looked around for a moment till he found the bag he was after "I'm fine I'm not that hungry anyway I'll eat at Nico's place" he said walking around Trish and straight back out of the basement.
Trish grabbed Dante's shoulder and pulled him back "Dante!"
Dante just stopped and went quiet "...what?"
Trish looked very upset "why are you rushing around? Why do you want to leave so fast? You have barely acknowledged me since you walked in and now you're rushing out"
Dante slowly put the bag down "hey I'm sorry okay I'm just…. I'm in the middle of something important okay?"
Trish said "more important than me? Than your daughter you haven't even went to see Jackie"
Dante replied "Jesus Trish it's not like I went to mars and just got back what's with you?"
Trish said "what's with me? What's with you?!" she raised her voice getting angry with him.
Dante picked up the bag "oh fuck this you're gonna be shitty with me I'm definitely going right back to Nico's" he said as he walked to the front door and left as he walked back to his bike he heard an angry scream from Trish inside.
Dante stopped and just thought in his head "mmm go back in and face Trish's wrath or come back later with chances of her being cooler….or worse?" Dante said to himself "no fuck it this is for her anyway she'll forgive me when it's over"
So Dante got on his bike and drove back to his father's home as fast as he could.

Sparda walked through his home to the library where he saw Mirila and Vergil were talking with each other.
As Sparda walked by them Mirila stepped up and said "Sparda ..Vergil remembers me.. And so does Dante. I made them remember" she said sounding really excited.
Sparda nodded "that is good.."
Mirila said "yes it is...but ..why aren't you happy?"
Sparda replied "I am happy"
Mirila tilted her head to the side with a smile "you don't look happy… hey maybe you're tired… why don't we go to bed?"
Sparda was about to speak but then heard the doorbell ring as he walked away from Mirila who sighed to herself.
Sparda opened the door seeing Dante "hello Father I need your help with something can you come with me"
Sparda replied "Dante of course.. But can it not wait? it is getting late"
Dante said "oh come on yes it could wait but the sooner it's done the better"
Sparda nodded "Alright give me a moment" he said leaving the door ajar as he went to grab his coat.
Lady then appeared at the door holding Meredith.
Dante ran over "oh hey sis..how's the kid?"
Lady smiled "she's fine..what're you doing here?"
Dante said "oh just need my father's help with something"
Sparda then came back fully dressed "alright I'm ready."
Dante said "great let's go ..catch you later Lady"
Sparda went and got into an old looking car but it was in perfect condition.
Lady watched as they both left and waved them off before going back inside.

Once back at Nero's home Dante walked right in like he owned the place Sparda followed behind him "Dante should we not have knocked first?"
Dante scoffed "what's the point? then we'd have to see Nero first" he said right before Nero appeared from around the corner making Dante go quiet "oh.. Hey Nero good to see ya" he said walking past him laughing to himself.
Sparda patted Nero on the shoulder "my apologies Nero"
Nero sighed "it's fine ..can't blame you for father not being an only child"
Sparda chuckled at that walking ahead.
After Dante walked into Nico's workshop he opened the bag he brought and showed Nico all the demonic objects and artifacts he had gathered.
Nico looked like a child in a toy store "HOLY SHIT! Why didn't you bring me these sooner?!"
Dante said "and whatever you don't need for Trish's thing you can keep for yourself."
Sparda looked confused, "Dante will you tell me why I'm here now?"
Dante said "oh shit I completely forgot to tell you ...so Nico is going to make something for Trish and I know you are also an expert at making weapons sooo… pretty please help make Trish something awesome"
Sparda smiled "of course I will...Nicoletta my dear..do you already have an idea in mind?" he said walking over to her.
Nico grabbed the diagram of the whip blade and showed it to him "something like this.. Me and Dante thought she'd love it"
Sparda took a glance at it "hmm interesting.." he went and hung up his coat "well then let's get to work...these will definitely help" he said looking at the artifacts in the bag Dante brought.
Dante asked "uhh you two need me or will you be alright?"
Sparda shook his head "no you can go Dante me and Nicoletta will be fine here"
Dante clapped his hands together "alright well I'll get going then..you let me know when it's finished and I'll pick it up" he said as he walked out and passed Nero "don't worry this time I won't be coming back"
Nero sighed in relief "thank god.."
Dante chuckled as he walked out.

When Dante got home he was hesitant to walk in "oof .. oooh she's angry … I don't wanna go in there…. Fuuuuck…. No guts no glory" he said before walking in seeing there was nobody there "phew" he then turned and locked the door and then turned back and saw Trish stood right there making him jump "ahh! … Jesus Christ Trish!" he said with his hand over his heart.
Trish looked furious "where were you? What were you doing?" she said she sounded calm but Dante knew better.
Dante replied "I was at Nico's what's the big deal?"
Trish said "why? Tell me what you were doing right now! Are you having sex with Nico?"
Dante burst out laughing at the ludicrous suggestion he tried to speak through his laughs but couldn't.
Trish had enough; she thought he was mocking her as she lifted her hand and tried to shock him.
Dante jumped up and over her landing on the desk behind her as he crossed his leg over the other "are you fucking nuts?! What the hell Trish?"
Trish yelled at him "stop laughing at me! Am I not good enough for you?! You had to go and fuck her?!"
Dante saw she was about to try and shock him again so he quickly charged forward taking her to the floor "would you calm down?! I'm not laughing at you!"
Trish elbowed him twice in the ribs making him grunt "GET OFF ME!"
Dante kept a hold of her tightly, not letting her get away "no I will not you're acting crazy!"
Trish kept struggling till after a while of Dante keeping a firm hold on her she started crying.
Dante couldn't believe what was happening "Trish … baby I wasn't cheating with anyone least of all Nico… I laughed because the very suggestion that I cheated on the most amazing woman in the universe that happens to be my wife and the mother of my child was funny to me … "
Trish cried more into his chest "... I'm sorry.. I'm sorry I didn't mean it.. I was just scared I thought you were messing with someone else … I don't know what I'd do if you left me"
Dante slowly moved to stand and lifted her up with him carrying her as she clung to him "but I'm not leaving you.. Never.. I wish you'd trust me more babe you don't give me enough credit" he said as he started walking upstairs with her.
Trish just cried more "I'm sorry.. "
Dante nodded "it's okay baby.. " he said as he saw Jacqueline peeking from her door "Jackie it's okay sweetheart just stay in your room baby.. It's fine I promise" he said as he walked into his bedroom and laid Trish in bed "here you get some rest babe"
Trish grabbed his hand "Dante stay with me.. Please.. Talk to me" she sounded as if she were begging him.
Dante looked down at her "I was just … I'll just check on Jackie then I'll come right back I promise" he said kissing Trish's hand.
Trish nodded "okay.." she said
Dante walked out and knocked on Jacqueline's room door.
The door then opened and Jacqueline asked "is everything okay daddy?"
Dante nodded "yeah it's all fine sweetheart… hey look I'm gonna head to bed with your mom… have you eaten are you gonna be okay?"
Jacqueline nodded "yeah I had something to eat earlier.."
Dante kissed her head "okay.. Night night sweetheart" he said turning to leave
Jacqueline ran to her father and hugged his back "I love you daddy"
Dante looked down at her and hugged her "I love you too baby...sweet dreams"
Jacqueline gently let go and went back to her room.
Dante then came back to Trish as he took off his clothes and got in the bed next to her and wrapped his arms around her.
Trish seemed more calm now as she leaned her body against his "Dante… can we talk?"
Dante replied "in the morning… definitely but right now… I'm tired it's been a long day"
Trish said "just one thing?"
Dante sighed "what?"
Trish asked "what were you doing there?"
Dante replied "I can't tell you… you're just going to have to trust me… and I don't think I've ever given you a reason not to trust me babe"
Trish did trust Dante but her fears and doubts would always worm their way into her head "okay… I love you Dante"
Dante held her tighter "I love you more"
