I am finally back…so sorry for taking so long with the last chapter. Like I said, I kind of got busy with life, so if this was a problem to you, please forgive me. Now that Kari Prower has been found (or in this case, she found the team), what will exactly happen now? Will they finally get to the bio lab? You'll find out soon enough…

Chapter 7.

Attacked.

He stirred with anger boiling inside of him. Murdoc had been put behind an energy shield that the snow-white colored mongoose had set up, the red-colored wolf wanted nothing more than to rid himself of the orange and white-colored two-tailed fox that had put him here in the first place. The kit had brought him dinner earlier only for the wolf to curse at him and throw the food and water towards his direction. The fox had not been affected by his bad mood, rather, the kit just laughed like nothing was wrong, and that made Murdoc angry, really angry as a matter of fact, because of that.

Later on…

Sonic and Tails' wounds were taken care of by Fara and her mother, Tails' leg was bandaged up very well by Kari. When they first met each other, Tails cried, Kari cried, Fara cried, and even Cody cried. Everyone else looked on as the little group of foxes. Afterwards, Sonic comforted Tails. Currently, Kari was fixing some more food for the team back in a cave. It looked very nice on the inside once everyone got there. As soon as they got there, Esmer, Chad, and Red had locked Murdoc behind an energy shield so that the Regency bounty hunter could not escape, the red-colored wolf cursed at them, and as soon as he saw Tails, he immediately started cursing at the fox. Chad covered the kit's ears while Esmer whacked the bounty hunter in the face. Tails looked at the bounty hunter like he was crazy, Sonic, seeing the whole fiasco, thought that Tails was going to break down and cry, but instead, the kit laughed like he had just laughed in the face of death and had gotten away with it. And that made Murdoc mad, real mad. After that, they left the bounty hunter and rejoined the others. Soon they were eating, Fara had asked Tails to give some food to Murdoc. Tails doing so, was soon once again cursed at by the wolf, everyone heard Murdoc yell at the kit. Suddenly, a shout could be heard, and it sounded like the voice belonged to none other than Tails. Sonic, Amy, Knuckles, and Sticks all gave each other a look of concernment. They all knew what that meant, and it wasn't good. They approached where Murdoc had been, and to the rest of Team Sonic's dismay, Tails wasn't there either.

"What the heck!?" Chad shouted.

"How did Murdoc escape?" Red wondered.

Suddenly, they heard Tails yell again, immediately, Sticks picked up where the shout came from. Soon enough, they got to where they heard the fox cub yell. Tails was found lying limp in the corner of a cave wall, but a few seconds later, the kit got off the ground and shook himself.

"Tails? You okay buddy?" Sonic asked.

"Well...besides Murdoc trying to kidnap me, yeah I'll be fine." Tails said.

"How did he escape?" Red asked, concernment on his face as he glanced at Tails.

"I don't know…" The fox then saw how the bounty hunter escaped from his energy-shielded prison.

"He sliced the counsel system that kept him in!"

"But the question is...how?" Chad said.

"Murdoc's been known for his mysterious escapes from prison and the law," Jerek said. "Who knows? Maybe, he had help."

"That's impossible," Cody said, "we would've known by now if that was the case."

Tails, Amy, and Fara inspected here Murdoc could have escaped, via slicing the counsel. Then the kit found out how he got away.

"I know how he broke out, didn't Franklin West say that every Regency member was equipped with gadgets that they could use in the event that they were captured by the law?"

"Um...yes. Why?" Sonic said.

Tails looked at his best friend. "That's how he escaped."

"Shoot!" Jerek muttered under his breath.

"If he has escaped, that only means one thing…" Tails said.

Everyone looked at the fox.

"And?" Sonic asked his friend.

Tails closed his eyes and gulped. "He's gone to warn the Regency that we're here to destroy the bio lab...or he's still here, hiding and lurking in the shadows."

"Nah...they already found out that we were here a long time ago." Esmer said.

Suddenly, the team heard a noise in the shadows. And in the next moment, a laser struck Cody in the arm. Immediately, the team rallied themselves in a battle position, and soon, more lasers started firing in every direction. Getting hit again in the arm, Cody yelled and pulled out a blaster and started firing it in the direction of the lasers. The team swiftly dodged the lasers. Sonic and Amy almost got hit by quite a few of them, but with quick reflexes, the two hedgehogs swiftly dodged every last one of them. A laser about glazed the top of Knuckles' head, but the echidna ducked just in time, the laser hitting the cave wall instead. Tails almost got shot by two lasers, the kit dodged one, but on the second attempt, he wasn't so lucky, the kit felt the laser burn his fur and skin as it hit his chest. Grunting, Tails put his hand to where he got shot and swayed, feeling weak, the fox cub closed his eyes as he collapsed onto the ground, slowly fading into unconsciousness.

"Tails!" Sonic, Knuckles, Amy and Sticks yelled.

Soon, everyone else joined Sonic, Knuckles, Amy and Sticks, surrounding the injured unconscious fox cub.

"MILES! NOOOO!" Fara cried.

CLIFFHANGER!

It had to be done, but I will get back to this story as soon as possible. Poor Tails, tell me what should happen with him in the review box down below. Until then, as always…
