Lady Miss Fortune Chapter 9: "Plagg's Plan Part 1"

Toshiro of the Eternal Dream: Yeah, I feel like both sides are right in a way.

Dranafile: Lol, it was originally supposed to be a happy reveal...buuut then I noticed literally everyone else's stories had happy reveals...so I decided to do something different XD

Enjoy!

Plagg floated beside Adrien, who was sitting on the side of his bed. He angled his ears toward the boy, "Sooo...about Ladybug..."

Adrien grumbled, "Don't even get me started on her. I saved her life, and this is how she repays me."

"To be fair, you kinda did start the argument by aggravating her." Plagg said. Although, he didn't really blame Adrien. After all, how could he? Of course it would annoy him if he knew the situation was avoidable. If Marinette had told him, this might have not happened. Then again, it might have been even worse.

Adrien didn't respond to that, staring blankly at the wall in front of him.

"Seriously? Is this what you're going to do all night? Just sit around doing nothing?"

"Fine, I'll do something, I guess." Adrien said, taking out his phone, he noticed that Kagami had texted him at least 5 times. He hesitated, wondering if he should reply or not. What would he even say to her? Would it be rude to not reply? What about Marinette- er, Ladybug?

Why do I care about her, when she probably doesn't even care about me?! Adrien thought.

"I can't believe I ever liked you." Marinette's words echoed in his head. It wasn't that Adrien didn't want Marinette to like him- just, not in that way. That spot was reserved for Ladybug...of course, until he learned that, in reality, Marinette was Ladybug. Adrien still found that hard to accept. In his eyes, they seemed like two different people. He still couldn't draw the connection between them.

If I'd have always know that Marinette was Ladybug, would things have been different? Adrien couldn't help but wonder if they could have been. Would he have still liked Ladybug, regardless of who she was? Would Ladybug have liked her back, knowing that Adrien was the person behind the mask? Or would they have been nothing more than friends?

At least we wouldn't have been enemies...

"Kid, what the heck are you thinking about?" Plagg asked. He kwami raised an eyebrow, "You've been staring at your phone for 10 minutes straight without doing anything."

"Huh? Sorry Plagg." Adrien said, placing the phone on his nightstand. Plagg glanced at the clock.

I should be outside at the gate by now! The kwami realized. He needed to get out without Adrien noticing.

Adrien got up, "I'm going to get a book to read. Are you coming or not?"

"No thanks...I'll stay here..." Plagg eyed the window. As soon as Adrien left, he opened it, glancing behind to make sure Adrien hadn't seen. Then he flew outside. The wind tugged on his fur, and the black kwami looked around. He floated by the gate, glimpsing something red peeking out behind the gate. He smirked naughtily, floating down silently.

"Boo!"

Tikki let out a small squeak, her antennae shooting up in alarm.

"Plagg?! Really?!"

Plagg snickered, "Sorry, it was too funny."

Tikki sighed, "You're never going to change, are you?"

"Nope!"

"So, what's your plan?" Tikki asked.

"So, we know that both of our owners would listen to Master Fu, right?"

"But Master Fu doesn't remember anything! How will they listen to Master Fu, if there is no Master Fu?"

"That's where we come in." Plagg told her, "We'll act like Master Fu sent them somewhere."

"Oh! We could both send them fake notes from Master Fu saying that he regained his memory and is waiting for them somewhere for an urgent meeting."

"Great. Now, exactly how experienced are you in forgery...?

Tikki grinned cheekily, "Very."

β€” Marientteβ€”-

Marinette threw another crumpled ball of paper into the trash.

"Ugh! Why am I so useless?!" She tapped her pencil on the notepad. I need to create a new costume design for Jagged Stone by tomorrow at noon, and I still don't know what I'm going to do!

Maybe it was just all the hectic stuff that happened with Adrien yesterday that was messing her up. Yeah. It was that. Nothing else.

Marinette scribbled over another costume design, "I'm not even close to finding a costume design!" She chucked it in the trash, or at least tried to. The crumpled ball of paper landed next to a photo of Adrien, of all things. Marinette ignored it, picking up the paper and tossing it in the trash.

"He never understands." Marinette growled. No one did.

If only I hadn't been akumatized. Marinette thought ruefully. If she hadn't been akumatized, there would have been no reveal. They would just carry on, oblivious to each other's true identities.

If I hadn't been akumatized, then Adrien-

Something shuffled behind her, "MARINETTE!" Tikki squeaked, waving a paw in front of her urgently.

"What's wrong, Tikki? Why are you so out of breath?" Marinette asked.

"I found this note." The kwami's eyes went wide, "It's from Master Fu!"

"What? But Master Fu lost his memory! He couldn't possibly know!"

Tikki handed Marinette an envelope. Marinette opened it, revealing a letter:

"What?" An address was written on a smaller piece of paper taped to the letter. Marinette studied the note. It looked like Master Fu's handwriting. It looked like something Master Fu would write.

"You have to go, Marientte!" The kwami looked at her owner pleadingly, "Please! Master Fu needs our help!"

Marinette sighed, "Fine, but only because it's from Master Fu. Plus, I've got an important message for him. From now on, Ladybug works alone."

Tikki swallowed hard. This had to work.
