It was the second round of the Fortune Cup, and the first match was Alex vs Professor Frank. "So why are you so interested in this boy Goodwin?" Jack asked. "This boy holds a great power," Goodwin explained. "What kind of power could this pipsqueak have?" Jack asked. "Jack, do you remember the monsters he used against Greiger?" Goodwin asked. "The Evil Heroes? What about them?" Jack asked. "Have you ever heard of them before now?" Goodwin asked.

Jack thought about it for a second and said no. "That's because they have not been seen in thousands of years." Goodwin answered. "What are you on about Goodwin?" Jack asked. "Thousands of years ago, there was a prince who was born with the power of the Gentle Darkness, a force that has helped life flourish since the beginning of time. About 40 years ago, that prince was reincarnated as Jaden Yuki, the father of Alexander Yuki." Goodwin explained. "What does this have to do with the kid's deck?" Jack asked.

"The Evil Heroes were said to be the army of the prince's kingdom, and that they would obey only the royal family. We believe that when Alex was born, the Gentle Darkness was passed down to him from his father. From a very young age, he showed immense promise as a duelist. When he was 5, his powers manifested themselves, along with the Evil Heroes. But when he began to duel, he couldn't control his powers." Goodwin explained.

"What kind of powers?" Jack asked. "His power was similar to Akiza's, in that when he dueled, his cards came to life. In one incident, he sent nearly 2 dozen of his classmates to the hospital. Everyone who knew about the boy viewed him as a monster, and shunned him," Goodwin explained. "So why is he dueling the Professor?" Jack asked.

"When Alex was a child, his inner torment spawned a darker alternate personality that would release itself when he dueled. His father was able to lock that part of his personality along with most of his power away, and was then able to teach the boy to control his power. We believe that second personality is still there, and it is the professor's job to bring it out so we can see the boy's true power." Goodwin explained.

"Are you sure this is safe Goodwin?" Jack asked. "Even if it is dangerous, it must be done." Back at the duel arena, Alex and the Professor had just entered the arena. "Pleased to meet you Alex," the man said, bowing his head. "Hi," Alex responded. "I've heard much about you, I think this duel will be most illuminating for the both of us, don't you think?" the Professor asked.

What is he talking about? I'd better just focus on the duel. Alex thought to himself. "Be on your guard Alex," Yubel said, appearing next to the boy. What do you mean Yubel? Alex asked. "I sense something strange emanating from this man, be careful," she warned. Okay, I will. he said. "Now, let's get dueling!" the MC shouted. "Let's go," they both said.

Alex: 4000 LP

Frank: 4000 LP

"You may have the first turn," the Professor said. "Okay, I draw. I play Evil HERO Sky Slash in defense mode," Alex said as his monster appeared on the field. "I end my turn. Your move professor," Alex said. "Of course, I draw. I summon Symmetry Rorschach," the Professor declared.

LIGHT/Spellcaster/Level 3

ATK 1200/ DEF 1200

Why can't I focus all of a sudden? Alex thought to himself as his mind became cloudy. "Alex, think of my monster as though it were a puddle of rain, or a drop of ink in a lake. Look at it, and tell me what you see. Tell me if it reminds you of anything. Look into your fears, your dreams, and your memories." the Professor said. Alex looks closely at it, and starts to see something, but can't get a clear image. "I, I don't know, I can't see it clearly," he told the man. "Look closer, and tell me what you see," Frank said.

Meanwhile, Yusei is watching the duel from the waiting room. Something weird is going on, why is Alex staring at that monster? Yusei thought to himself. "Jaden, Alex is acting strangely," Alexis said, noting her son's odd behavior. "You're right, something is wrong here," he said, worried about Alex. "Look closely Alex, as close as you possibly can," Frank said. As Alex continued to stare, he started to get a better view of it. "I see, a man wearing a suit of black and gold armor," Alex said.

The man then turned to face Alex, but when he turned, Alex was looking at himself, except his eyes are golden and he has a crazed smile on his face. "No, not him," Alex said, taking a step back. The figure then sent a ball of darkness at Sky Slash, destroying him. "You must face your fears Alex, you must relive your memories. Don't be scared," the Professor said. "Please, I don't want to relive this," Alex pleaded. "You must be brave enough to relive what happened many years ago, I know you have great power. Power your father sealed away, but I'll help you control that power." Frank said. "You will?" Alex asked.

"Yes, but in order to do so, you must trust me, can you do that?" the man asked. "Okay," Alex said. "Good, now follow my instructions. When my monster destroyed yours, its ability activated. Would you kindly reveal the top card of your deck before returning it to the top of your deck?" the Professor asked. "Okay," Alex said, revealing his next card. "My Evil HERO Galactic Ruler," Alex said holding a monster that looked similar to Elemental Hero Neos, before putting it back on top of his deck. "Good, he'll help us in the next stage." the Professor said. "I place two cards face-down and end my turn." he said.

"My turn, I draw," Alex said. "I special summon Evil HERO Infernal Prodigy in attack mode. And then I tribute him to summon my Evil HERO Galactic Ruler." Alex declared, summoning his monster.

LIGHT/Fiend/Level 7

ATK 2500/DEF 2000

"Galactic Ruler is level 7, but can be summoned with 1 tribute if the tributed monster is an Evil HERO," Alex explained. "And now I play the trap Light to the Depths. This trap can only be played when you summon a LIGHT attribute monster. Now you send the top 5 cards of your deck to the graveyard, and then you reveal the sixth card and add it to your hand. If you do not play that card this turn, you will suffer 2000 points of damage." the Professor explained. But while he had been talking, a light had been flashing from his trap in a pattern that hypnotized Alex.

Alex picked up 5 cards from the top of his deck and put them in his graveyard. "Now, what is the next card?" the man asked. Alex drew the card and revealed it. "Ah, the field spell Supreme King's Castle. This will help bring you back to your past." Frank said as Alex activated the card. "Now, remember your past, remember your power." the Professor said.

Alex could see them, memories from his childhood. How he couldn't control his power, and hurt many people. How everyone thought he was a monster, and how in a sense, he did become a monster in the form of his other self. "Now, I'd like to meet that alternate personality of yours. Set him free, and your full power along with him," Frank said.

"Alex don't listen to him!" Yubel cried out, but Alex couldn't hear her. His darker self was emerging, and was about to break out. Suddenly, a wave of pure darkness exploded from Alex before swirling into a violent tornado, even more powerful than when Akiza played Black Rose Dragon. "Man, where did this wind come from?" Tanner asked in the stands. "It think it came from Alex." Luna said. The force of the wind was so strong, it broke the glass of the room where Rex and Jack where watching the duel from. "I had no idea the boy had this much power locked away," Goodwin remarked.

"I'm not sure what's happening, but a black tornado has appeared on the duel field! This is even more powerful than when Akiza dueled!" the MC marveled. "Hahahahahaha," a voice could be heard laughing. The tornado died down, and in place of where Alex stood, someone about his height stood in black and gold armor and a blood-red floor length cape. "The Supreme Prince of Darkness has returned," the figure said, lifting up the faceplate on his helmet to reveal that it was Alex! Except his eyes were golden, and his face was warped into a wicked smile. "You wanted to see my power, here it is!" he said, setting off another gale using his powers. "This is worse than we thought, Alastor is back," Jaden said.

So just so we're clear, Alex's armor is the same as Jaden's was when he was the Supreme King. His personality is similar to his father's Supreme King persona, but as you'll see, Alastor also has his own distinct personality traits. By the way, to anyone wondering why I decided to call him Alastor, it's Ancient Greek for "he who does not forget", as well as "prosecutor" and "tormentor", which definitely fits his personality.
