Mark's Home
At the house of Mark and Yunyun, the boy was cooking up breakfast while the mage girl prepared the plates at the table.
"Is this fine, Mark?" Yunyun asked if she did her job just right.
"Yup, that's alright." Mark replied as he glanced at her work before continuing his cooking.
While he was about to finish the food, another person spoke up.
"Hey. Is the food still not done yet? Can you hurry it up." Aqua complained while she sat at the table waiting for breakfast to be served.
"I have to agree with Aqua there. I'm starving." Megumin also spoke up. She was sitting beside Aqua and was already holding the knife and spoon.
"You two… don't you have any sort of shame saying that to the person giving you free food in his own house?" Kazuma reminded them.
Megumin reacted to what he said and turned towards him. "Ho? Funny that you mentioned that. Aren't you the one that started going here after he offered you breakfast here?" she shot back. Kazuma couldn't retort as she was right.
It has been a few days since the quest on the Ant Queen. Nothing much happened after that. Mark and Yunyun went on some small quest together while Kazuma and Megumin did their daily Explosion routine while Aqua does who knows what. Mark once mentioned to Kazuma that he now cooks breakfast for him and his partner. He even offered Kazuma and his party to come around in the morning in their house if they ever wanted to eat free breakfast.
First it started with just Kazuma. After tasting the food and getting hooked to it he invited Megumin, who was hesitant at first because Yunyun lives there but couldn't turn down free food. And then Aqua got suspicious on why the neet started going out early in the morning and followed him. That's where she found out that he has been eating free delicious food without him telling her. And that's how the three started going at Mark's house in the morning for breakfast.
Mark didn't mind at all though. In fact he was delighted to have friends coming over and enjoying the food he made. Even Yunyun was fine with it as she had more people to talk to… even though Megumin ignores her most of the time.
As to why Kazuma and the others keep coming there is for two reasons. One is obviously the free food and the other is because they're broke. Even though Kazuma has new weapons that would greatly help him in their quest, most of their rewards go to their dept.
After Mark placed the food at the table, the three started chowing down with pleasure. He and Yunyun soon joined eating with them after he laid down all the food.
"Oops, I almost forgot. There's another reason why we came here." Kazuma said as he paused eating for a second.
"And what's that?" Mark asked, curious to what he would say.
"You see…" Kazuma then brought a quest poster and showed it to the other teen. A quest to explore Keele's Dungeon. He explained that even though it was thoroughly explored before, a new passage was found and he somehow got the first take on it. If they somehow got lucky, they would get a lot of score from this.
"...this quest could be quite dangerous. So can I borrow some of your guns that are good for close range and tight spaces?" Kazuma asked.
Mark thought about it for a second before answering him. "I don't mind. You already have the MP5 that is already good at close range. So I recommend using a shotgun as a second weapon."
"Ooh! That's what I thought too! So what shotguns do you have?" Kazuma asked in excitement.
"Haha. What shotguns do I have… Only four." His laughter died when he realized his collection was still not enough. "The four of them are unique on their own, but the one I advise is the SPAS-12."
Mark then used his skill and spawned the said shotgun in his hand. "It can either be pump action or semi-automatic depending on what mode and shells you use." he informed before tossing it to him.
"Thank- Ah! Aqua!" The second Kazuma caught the gun is when Aqua took the opportunity to take his portion of the food. "Give those back you useless goddess!" he demanded but to no avail. The goddess just stuffed up the food in her cheeks like a chipmunk.
"Ahem. It is good and all that Kazuma has a new weapon, but I still protest in going to the dungeon." Megumin asserted while the two continued bickering around.
"Fufu. Why is that Megumin? Is it because you can't do anything inside a dungeon?" Yunyun mocked, pissing off the explosion maniac.
"Huh?!" Megumin glared like she was about to start a fight. But she soon pulled away and turned towards Mark. "In any case, I would like to borrow your gun that launches miniature explosions."
"Hmm?… Ah, you mean the grenade launcher." Mark remembered that he once showed Megumin the Thumper to her and demonstrated what it does. The wizard was less than impressed with the explosion it displayed but was still intrigued by it. Even though it couldn't even compare to the power of the explosion magic she had, it was still more practical in some cases. Small but repetitive explosion is more convenient than a devastating one shot one.
"Sure. You do remember how to use it correctly right?" The soldier boy asked just to be safe before he decided to lend a destructive weapon to a little girl.
Megumin just nodded back before resuming eating.
"Wait a minute! You're just going to let her borrow that thing?!" Yunyun protested. She didn't like the thought of a dangerous gun in the hands of Megumin. It could only mean disaster.
"Huh? What do you mean by that? Do you think that I can't take care of it by myself?" Megumin felt offended by the remarks of her clanmate.
It's not like that Yunyun thinks Megumin can't handle it, it's just that she was worried what mayhem she could cause and make Mark responsible because it was his weapon. He stopped the two before they could argue any further.
"Okay okay, enough of that. Yunyun, I think Megumin is responsible enough to handle the grenade launcher… I think." Mark said so as he began to think otherwise. "And Megumin. Please try not to cause too much destruction."
The two just nodded with not another word.
"Oh right!" Kazuma suddenly spoke up. "I was actually planning on inviting you two on this quest. I'd feel safer with you two around." He knew full well how competent of a teammate Mark and Yunyun is. A lot better than his current party at least.
"Thanks for the invite, But me and Yunyun already have plans for today." Mark politely declined.
"I see. Well, I won't force you or anything." Kazuma then got up as he was finished eating. His teammates followed suit and decided it was time to go. "We'll get going now then."
Kazuma waved back as he left. They still have a quest to do after all.
"Thanks for the food." Megumin commented before she left.
"Next time cook more food will ya." Aqua said last, leaving Mark and Yunyun alone together again.
The two then fixed up the table and washed the dishes before they themselves left for their task today. Having friends come to their house and eat together was something that they never expected to happen in their life.
In front of the Adventurer's Guild
Mark and Yunyun were walking towards the guild followed by nine other people. Three of them were Sandman, Truck and Grinch. The other six were a new addition to the team as they were also part of Delta Team. The new members were Grizzly, Thumper, Worm, Gator, Maccoy and Frost.
These battle hardened soldiers were not summoned like the usual. This time they were permanently summoned. Needing more mana used to appear and reducing his max mana capacity by 9%(1% per permanent summon). It was not much due how much worth it will be in the long run.
As they opened the doors, they were greeted by the receptionist.
"Welcome! Oh? If it isn't Mark. Your group seemed to have increased." Luna commented, seeing a few unfamiliar faces behind him.
"Yep. You already met Sandman and the other two…" Mark said as he pointed at Grinch and Truck. "The other five are my new members of the team."
Luna looked at the soldiers carefully and saw they were mostly wearing the same outfit and having similar looking weapons. She didn't question it though as she knew how strong and reliable Mark was when it comes to quests.
"I see. So are you going to take a big quest this time? Seeing how many you are." The receptionist curiously asked.
"Nope. I'm here to register all of them to be adventurers." Mark said, shocking the receptionist by his remark.
"Hah?! Didn't you say that Sandman and the others are your summon before? And you want them to register as adventurers?!" Luna wanted to clarify if what she heard was correct.
"Is it not allowed then?"
"It's not that. There are cases where you could register a monster in the guild as a pet when properly tamed, but a full fledged adventurer? It's unheard of." Luna informed
"Can we atleast try? If we could register them as adventurers then the efficiency of taking quests we increase. I would still pay for the fee even if it fails." Mark tried to convince.
The receptionist thought about it for a second. If they did succeed in being registered, it would be a great benefit for the guild and the town. "Okay, there is no harm in trying."
They then proceeded to the device and began the process. Sandman was the first to try if it worked. To their surprise it did! He was shown his adventurer's card and saw his stats. All of his stats, except magic, were above average. He was level one and had no magic in them to speak of. But what's more surprising is their skills.
They have the passive ability to share 80% of experience they gain is shared with Mark. They can also have two perk abilities that the boy had already unlocked. Even though they are just summons, their strength and intellect far above the normal soldiers in this world.
"I'm surprised! Nine more adventurers and their stats are not that bad. I look forward to working with all of you!" Luna said in a delighted tone.
After Mark properly introduced the new soldiers to the receptionist, he then proceeded to his real goals.
"Okay then. Now that all of you are proper adventurers, I want you to divide your team into three groups, three people per team. After that I want you to take any quest you want and try to complete them. I have no doubts that you can finish them." Mark began explaining his plans. He wanted to have more grounds in taking quests and what better way to do that is by making Delta team do it too on their own.
"After finishing a quest, you could either take another one or relax at the guild and have a few drinks. You could use the eris that you earned at your own leisure."
"And what will you be doing sir?" Sandman asked.
"Me and Yunyun will be conducting experiments on this Type 97 pendant that I have. It has been bugging for sometime now." Mark then brought out the item he was talking about. He read the notes of the former owner of the house and item and found out it was magical, mainly used in battle.
Sandman nodded his head seeming that he understood what he said. "Aah… So you two are going to be alone together again. Have fun." He then made a teasing smirk and the others started to laugh. This made Mark and Yunyun blush out of embarrassment.
"I-I told you we're not like that! We're just close friends…" Mark didn't know why but it felt like something tugged his heart when he said that.
"… That's right. We're not in that kind of relationship…" Yunyun looked saddened for a second when she heard Mark before smiling back. "Just close friends…"
All of them fell silent for a moment, creating an awkward atmosphere. It was the receptionist who spoke up to break the tricky situation.
"Ah! I just remembered that I still have something important to do. Goodbye for now." Luna hurriedly walked out of the group.
"Ahem… Looks like we still have to pick out our quest. We don't want to waste time after all." Sandman and the others then casually walked towards the quest board, leaving behind the two adventurers.
Mark felt that Yunyun somehow feels uncomfortable whenever people start pairing them so he denies it right away to clear the misunderstanding. It's just that he feels a little depressed seeing that she doesn't like being seen that way.
"Uhm… Now we're done here, let's go to the shooting range to conduct our test then." Mark said so in a hesitant way.
"Sure…" Yunyun nodded. Mark then was first to leave the Guild and she followed behind. As they walked beside together, there was uneasiness in their minds.
'I guess Yunyun doesn't like the idea of us being a couple…' Mark thought as he stole a glance at her. As time went by when they were together, his feelings for her started to grow little by little. But like most teens his age, he was too shy to confess.
'… So he just sees me as a close friend, nothing more.' Yunyun tried to sneak a peek at him but was too embarrassed. She was already content with what they have right now and wouldn't risk destroying it. But she'd be lying if she said that she wouldn't want their relationship to go on further.
Kazuma's Party
"Why won't you let me come?! I already have a weapon so I won't use explosion magic in there!" Megumin pleaded to Kazuma to let her come inside the dungeon.
"I told you! I'll go first and try to scout the inside to map it out. Only I have the lurk skill and I don't want to die being overwhelmed by monsters!" Kazuma shot back.
"But if you do that then I won't have a chance to use my explosive friend-" Megumin paused and then started looking at the gun weirdly. "What should I name my partner?"
Kazuma facepalmed knowing it would be something weird again. But back to the topic at hand. 'I don't want Megumin using that grenade launcher inside that dungeon. What if that thing suddenly makes the dungeon collapse! I mean, what was Mark thinking, giving the explosion freak that thing?!'
"A no is a no, and I'm not risking failing this quest. We have a mountain of debt to pay!"
"If it was Mark, he would have let me come…" Megumin muttered to herself. But Kazuma heard it well and got pissed off by her comment.
"Oh yeah? If Yunyun was here, she would definitely be more helpful than you!" Kazuma shot back.
The two glared at each other for a while before breaking it off. They realized it would be a waste of time if they fought each other now when they still have a quest to do. In the end Megumin didn't have a choice but to agree with him. They do need the money after all.
At first it was only Kazuma that entered but was soon followed by Aqua for some reason. Nothing much was left to take in the earlier parts of the dungeon as it was already explored and wiped clean of treasures before by other adventurers.
Pushing further, Kazuma felt something was rushing towards them at alarming speeds down the steps. He immediately took out his suppressed MP5 and aimed at the direction of the incoming threat. A burst of three shots fired out of his gun and hit the thing, killing it instantly.
With the help of the night vision he got from Mark, Kazuma easily identified what the thing was. Aqua told him it was a low level demon called a gremlin. He smiled with confidence as she gazed upon the corpse of the creature.
"This is going to be easy."
Shooting Range
Mark and Yunyun just finished setting up the things they'll use for their little experiment at the shooting range. They both had body armor on to protect themselves in case of accidents happening.
"Okay, looks like we're ready." Mark said as he wore the Type 97 pendant on his neck.
"So what do you want me to do?" Yunyun curiously asked.
"I want you to pull out your pistol and move back ten meters away from me." Mark asked.
Yunyun then nodded and did what she was told. "Then what?"
"Shoot me."
...
"What?!" Yunyun voiced out. "Can you repeat that?! Did you just ask me to shoot you?!"
"Yeah." He nonchalantly replied.
The mage stared at her partner for a few seconds, checking if there's something wrong with him. "Are you crazy?!" She shouted.
"I'm not! This test is to see if I can use the defensive capabilities of this pendant. If my research is correct, this should protect me from small to medium caliber firearms." Mar explained further in detail.
Yunyun crossed her arms in disbelief as she was still not convinced. But she soon faltered when her partner said those words.
"Come on. Don't you trust me?" Mark triggered something in her. It was the same as asking if she has faith in him, which was quite obvious she has. She was just concerned if something wrong would happen.
"Of course I do!" Yunyun voiced. "I just don't like the idea putting yourself in danger with your experiments…" She let out a sigh, giving up on the argument. "Fine, I'll do it. Just promise not to ask me things like this in the future."
"Thanks! And I promise!" Mark replied. He did realize that what he just said was wrong. Asking your partner to shoot you even if there was some protection was idiotic.
Proceeding with the actual test, Yunyun pointed her loaded USP-45 at Mark. Even though she still didn't like doing it, she trusted her partner in his words that nothing bad would happen. As she squeezed the trigger, the lead bullet left the gun barrel at great speed.
A ricochet sound was heard as the bullet seemed to hit a barrier that the Type 97 pendant created. It left Mark far from harm's way. Yunyun seemed to be in awe at the barrier as she had never seen anything that looked like it before.
In what Mark had read in the books, the barrier was called "Passive Shell". It can protect against small fragments, small caliber bullets and blast waves. Can be kept on indefinitely, also easy to cast together with other formulas. The biggest ordinary single shot it can defend against in a direct hit is 12.7 mm, but in a saturation attack, even infantry small arms can weaken and penetrate it.
Yunyun was then asked to shoot the other guns at him, with each increasing its caliber. To the M4A1 and AK-47 then the M60E4 and finally the CheyTac Intervention. The barrier proved to be quite resilient but still showed a few cracks when it came to the machine gun and sniper rifle. That's the point where they moved to the next test.
There was another protective skill the pendant has, "Active Barrier". This version is where the caster would concentrate their magic at the shield and increase its defense. It is said in the books that if inputted with high enough mana it can withstand a 40mm explosion.
For obvious reasons, they decided not to fire a 40mm shell at him. And how you might ask, does Mark have a 40mm in his possession? The skill "Air Strike" shoots a 40mm bofors cannon from an AC-130. But he was not dumb enough to try a barrage of them head on.
The next thing was to try its offensive capabilities. He learned that he could enhance his bullets to be more deadly and effective.
-Penetration Formula (As the name implies, boosts the penetrating power of the rounds.)
-Homing Cluster Shot (Any bullets that are imbued with this formula will split into several homing projectiles upon reaching a certain range and will seek out the target.)
-Artillery Shots (Any bullets that are imbued with this formula will have its firepower enhanced to be comparable to artillery shots.)
Although all of these sound effective in battle, they still need a considerate amount of mana to use. There are still a lot more uses this Type 97 calculation orb could do but decided to try it at another time.
On another note, Mark shuddered at the thought of a world where guns and cannons were implemented with magic. If modern warfare wasn't devastating enough, adding spells to the mix was just overkill.
Mark and Yunyun continued on their experiments with the pendant.
Frost's Team
Staff Sergeant Derek "Frost" Westbrook, the infamous Delta operator which in the game mostly played as a character. But as a NPC now, his skills mostly surpasses the players ingame. He rarely speaks and has great leadership.
He was accompanied by Grizzly and Thumper at a quest they took. It was a quest to subjugate two dangerous beasts that had been fighting for a territory for a long time, a manticore and a griffon. No one else would take the quest before due to the difficulty it poses. But Frost and the rest were not faltered by it.
Frost gathered a little bit of information first before they went to the said place of the beast. It is said that there was a time in day where the two monsters would meet at a certain place to fight each other, mostly leading at a draw. And any poor soul that would wander between their quarrel would not end up well.
So he planned ahead, he found a spot where they could overlook where the fight would take place and camp there for a vantage point. It was on top of a hill just 800 meters away from the spot of the fighting place. Grizzly had equipped the MSR with Thumper acting as spotter. But the plan was not to snipe the beast, it was only a backup plan if the first plan failed. The real plan to take out the monsters was for Frost to use the skill he was given by their boss, Mark, to eliminate them.
The plan was to use the skill "Precision Airstrike" to kill both of them while not having to confront them directly. Three aircrafts would bomb the beast and instantly finish the job. But if somehow the beast senses the threat and evades the place of the bombing run, then they would switch to sniping them down. But they would be unlikely.
They only have one shot with the airstrike. Unlike Mark, they three could not create the skills themselves, only use them what they boy has given them. Like a grenade, a one time use for them.
After an hour waiting on top of the hill, they spotted their target. The manticore and griffin roared and glared at each other, showing of their might. As the two were preparing to engage at their regular battle, Frost had just marked the place where the two beasts stood.
Before the beast could bare their fangs at each other, they paused for a second, hearing something they'd never heard before. They sound high speed bombers closed in without any warning to them. Before they knew it, something fast had dropped from the air and detonated on impact at the ground around them.
BOOOOM
The two beasts could not withstand the sheer power of the bombs that exploded around them. Chunks of bits and pieces of them rained at the spot as their remains littered around the ground.
With this, it was a mission accomplished done flawlessly. The reward was 500,000 eris. If it was the normal adventurers, they would be rejoicing with their success and cheering their butts off. But for them, it would be just another day at work. At least their normal work would be much more difficult as their enemies fought back with guns too.
After they'd radio'd to the other delta team of their success, they immediately headed back to the guild.
At The Guild
"What?! Didn't you three just left a few hours ago?! And you just finished the quest in such a short time!" Luna voiced as she looked over Frost's adventurer card, seeing the confirmation of the quest. The soldier just nodded
She knew the difficulty of the quest and didn't expect it to be done so quickly. But knowing that it's Mark's companions she is talking about, she should have expected as much.
She let out a brief sigh before she gave back Frost's card. "For completing the quest, here is your payment." She smiled as she handed the reward to the soldier.
With nothing else to do for the day, Frost decided to report back personally to their boss if there is something else that needs to be done. Grizzly and Thumper decided to stay behind the guild and have a few drinks. They could spend some money for themselves after all.
Shooting Range
As Frost neared Mark and Yunyun, he saw that the boy was holding the gun and pointed towards the girl. Even though she wore the bullet proof, the soldier felt like it was unethical to do so. He didn't know what the two were doing but he decided not to question them.
It was then when he saw the gun fired and shot a bullet towards the girl but she came out unscathed. Even the vest didn't sustain any damage. It was because it was Yunyun who was wearing the Type 97 pendant now and tried to see if she could also use it.
It turns out that she could, and even better at it due to having much more mana than Mark. But for now she hasn't yet learned the mechanics of enhancing rounds and other uses of it unlike the boy.
Mark paused the test after noticing the arrival of Frost. He signalled Yunyun to take a break and walked towards the soldier. After talking for a few seconds, Yunyun saw Frost nodding to Mark and walked away. She then walked to Mark to ask when they talked about.
"Oh that? He just said their quest is done for the day and asked if there's anything else he could do." Mark replied.
"So what did you say to him?" Yunyun curiously asked.
"I told if he wanted, he could go to Keele's dungeon and see if Kazuma needs assistants. I told him the location was and gave him something to help him."
"Aah…" Yunyun was surprised to hear how hardworking this Frost person is. But she wondered what this something that he gave that would assist the soldier. Maybe another one of Mark's skills?
With that out of the way, the two continued on their experiments.
Keele's Dungeon
On arriving in front of the Dungeon, he saw a little girl practicing some sort of chant on a black cat. He was already informed ahead who the person was. From the way the girl was dressed, he could guess it was the person named Megumin.
"Oya? Are you perhaps one of Mark's soldiers?" Megumin spoke as soon as she noticed Frost. They had not yet introduced each other. She had only met Sandman, Truck and Grinch but not the others yet.
Frost only nodded from her question. Megumin then introduced herself the normal way she does, in a flashy way. The soldier had almost no reaction to her introduction. What made it even more hard to read him is because his face is fully covered with google and mask. But to Megumin's surprise, he did introduce himself back.
"The name is Derek "Frost" Westbrook. Delta Operator codename metal 0-4. But you could call me Frost." The soldier spoke in a professional tone that even made Megumin want to respect him.
He told Megumin his reason for being there and offered his assistance. The mage was overjoyed upon hearing that.
"Really?! Then, accompany me to the depths of the dungeons to seek out my companions. They'd been gone for quite some time now." Megumin explained the situation to the soldier. Frost was a little hesitant bringing along a little girl in a dungeon but she still insisted.
"Fine. Take this and stay close to me." Frost said as he handed her some night vision goggles. "I'll also call drop in something that would assist us."
Megumin tilted her head, wondering what he meant by that. She saw him throw something on the ground and it popped off red smoke. She already knows Mark commonly uses this kind of thing so it was not new to her.
It was then a plane flew by and parachuted a crate where the smoke had been thrown. After the crate had landed, Frost approached and opened it up, revealing a UGV inside.
"Woooah! That looks cool! Can I have it?!" Megumin quickly pleaded after seeing the armored drone. Frost just flat out replied "No." to her.
It was one of Mark's Air Support Armory skills called "UGV Assault Drone". It can be used through using a laptop it came with to fully control or put it on autopilot to make it move itself and follow the user. It had thermals and night vision to help it see better in different situations.
After a few more preparations, the two, plus drone, set off inside the dungeon.
Inside the Dungeon
"Kazuma-san! Kazuma-san! Don't leave me down here alone! Aaaah!" Aqua screamed her lungs out, trying to outrun the monster and undead that was chasing her.
BANG
"This is your fault you know! If you weren't catnip for the undead, then this wouldn't have happened in the first place!" Kazuma shouted as he shot another round from his shotgun.
With each shot from his SPAS-12, he at least killed one monster. But two more would appear with each kill. His smg was not powerful enough to handle a large group of monsters so that is why he switched to the shotgun earlier.
Kazuma ran as he shot back at the monsters that were chasing them. 'Dang it! I would have left Aqua behind if I didn't misfire and revealed myself.' he was cursing himself for the blunder he had done.
When he pulled the trigger for the last time and nothing came, his face turned white. He didn't have time to load another shell as it was too late, they were a few feet from him. It was at this moment Kazuma knew he was screwed.
"Fuc-" Before he could finish his words the closest monster to him got shot in the head, killing it instantly. The gunfire came from ahead of them to the direction they were running to.
"Get down!" A familiar loli voice shouted at them. It was Megumin who warned them to duck.
Kazuma and Aqua quickly responded to her command and dropped to the ground. A thump sound was heard and a projectile past the two. Seconds later the monsters behind exploded into little pieces. It was Megumin's grenade launcher, using it for the first time in battle.
It didn't stop there. Spinning it's barrels at incredible speeds, the UGV warmed up to fire a rain of lead.
BRRRRRRRT
Kazuma and Aqua were shaking, hoping that none of bullets accidentally hit them. The minigun had only fired for five seconds but it already eliminated the majority of the monsters.
"You two, get up. We're leaving." Frost spoke up. The two saw that the one who said that was someone they haven't met yet but knew it was one of Mark's soldiers based on appearance. They did what they were told and quickly got up and ran to his side.
"What?! Already?! But I barely got to use this!" Megumin argued, wanting more action to happen.
"That was not a suggestion." Frost replied in a cold tone. The wizard didn't retort as she felt chills in her spines as soon as he heard him.
"Y-Yes!" Megumin said with a snap, like a private answering to his drill sergeant.
The group then proceeded to leave the dungeon with Frost taking point. The UGV was last to follow as it guarded their rear. Its guns were pointed at the back, shooting any undead or monster that dare follow them.
Luckily they didn't encounter any problems on their way out.
Outside the Dungeon
"We're finally out." Kazuma let out a relieved sigh. "Thank you for helping us, Um…"
"Frost." The soldier then introduced himself.
Aqua, who was a bit traumatized with the event, began arguing to Kazuma on how he tried to ditch her back in the dungeon. Well it was her fault anyway for attracting undead in the first place.
After that was solved, they then proceeded to go back to town before it got dark. The UGV was left back at the entrance of the Dungeon for some reason.
Their party took a bath first at the public bath before they proceeded to the guild.
Adventurer's Guild
When Kazuma's group arrived, they started eating and drinking for their success. Frost joined Sandman and the other soldiers as they were already in the guild when they arrived. The soldier was also enjoying their night with drinks and giant toad meat.
Just outside the guild, Mark and Yunyun were just about to enter the guild when they heard Dust announced that Kazuma was paying for the drinks.
"Woah. Kazuma is popular as always." Mark said as they walked towards a table near the soldiers.
"Yeah…" Yunyun on the other hand had other things on her mind. She thought of another plan to challenge Megumin. A drinking contest.
Moments later, almost all the male started cheering "Steal" at Kazuma as he started wiggling his fingers in a weird manner. At the same time he activated his skill, a female adventurer coincidentally entered the guild and had her panties stolen from her.
If they could see Frost's face now, it had an expression that said "That's the guy I saved?" in a disgusted manner. Even Mark was slightly appalled by it.
Yunyun took the opportunity to place six mugs of beer in front of Megumin, offering to challenge her. But sadly she didn't expect Mark to follow her behind and stop her.
"What are you doing?" Mark questioned.
"U-Um… Drinking contest?" Yunyun replied as she averted her eyes.
"No can do. You're still underage." Mark looked at her with concern.
"But-"
"No buts!" Mark started to pull a depressed Yunyun back to their table.
Megumin was overjoyed when she saw that Yunyun seemed to forget that she left the beer. Before she could indulge on the cold drinks, Dust suddenly sent flying to their table and spilled all of the bear. No beer for the lolis.
It was a noisy but fun night… It was when Kazuma got sober he realized they lost a lot of money for treating everybody drinks, he started to ask his life decisions. Mark on the other hand was the opposite. He gained a lot of money this week and even leveled up one level.
He checked his stats and saw that he could unlock new skills.

-BTR-80 (A Soviet eight-wheeled Armored Personnel Carrier and Infantry Fighting Vehicle armed with 1 x 2A72 30mm cannon and 1 x PKT 7.62mm machine gun.)
-T-72 (A Soviet main battle tank armed with a 125 mm 2A46M Main Gun. It also has 1 x 7.62mm PKT Machine Gun and 1 x 12.7mm NSVT Heavy Machine Gun as secondary armament.)
-MH-6 Little Bird (A light helicopter, mainly used for transport and support roles.[Note. There are two variants, the AH-6 (attack) and the MH-6 (transport).])
-UH-60 Blackhawk (A utility helicopter equipped with two M134 minigun, one in each side of its fireports.)
-Locked (Level 30)
…
There was also that other thing he saw a few days ago, a hidden skill. It only activated when he accidentally got too close in one of Megumin's explosions.
-Rapid Cellular Regeneration (Heals light to heavy injuries at a rapid rate. Must be away from harm for at least 5 seconds.)
Mark started becoming giggy again while he stared at his new skills and vehicles. Though he still had a lot of skill points, he only unlocked the things he would use for now. Not all of them will be used at the same time after all.
It was the vehicles that excited him more. If he could man the IFVs with his soldiers his firepower would increase significantly. But there was a downside to this… It cost a lot of money.
