Act 1

Chapter 4: A occupied town

Riolu, has just arrived on the outskirts of town, already being night.

He had walked all the way here. It took a los of time, but for him it was no problem. He would have liked to take a ride to get there sooner, but he didn't want to risk being discovered. It was better this way, he couldn't risk the only chance to rescue Scorbunny

Right now he could see la Cruz Negra, attentive and well armed. He also noticed that there were many policemen here, but none of them would dare to enter there. He remembered that there were hostages there and any wrong move could mean their death. Something neither of them wants. The police could not let that happen to fulfill their duty andla Cruz Negra, get the time necessary for them to capture Scorbunny. He didn't know what they were going to do after that, but it was easy to assume that they were going to leave here and leave people alone. Or at least Riolu, wished.

It was to be expected that Riolu already had a plan, but unfortunately he didn't think of one. Since none occurred to him. Right now trying to think of one, but it was impossible. The grass was very tall and he could sneak up perfectly with his height.

What he was going to do inside, he wasn't sure. But the best thing is don't let them discovered him, they expected Scorbunny, and not him. But again, they were on the alert for anything that wasn't human.

First of all, he took off his boots and put them in his backpack. He did not need them at that moment and if they were to find him, running without them would be very easy for him.

So he walked into town, hidden in the grass. When a light went his direction, he stopped immediately and waited until the person pointed his flashlight in another direction.

It didn't take long to get to town. Riolu, pulled the hood off his head and removed his bandana from his face, but still tied around his neck. So he walk through town, mindful of your surroundings.

Unlike here and Tangamandapio, here he felt like if he was in a ghost town. The people here must be sheltering in their homes. Waiting for everything to end. Riolu wanted to find Scorbunny, as soon as possible, to get out of here. He was calm, but he didn't like the idea of being in a place full of people who want to catch him.

When a patrol passed, he would hide and let them pass. Right now stealth and night was his ally. The bad thing is he did not know where to go exactly. Left or right or just go straight. Any path could lead to Scorbunny or away from him

He was supposed to hide in the alleys, but it was easy to think. Surely la Cruz Negra, would think the same. He only wished that he had a very good hiding place that they could not find it, but if it were good, it would be very difficult for him too. He stopped thinking and moved on.

But then something was ringing in his backpack. He register it and found out it was the radio that the fat man, who belonged to la Cruz Negra, had taken from him. He could use it to listen the broadcast and get information.

Riolu pressed the switch and listened to the transmission. "Attention everyone. We have located Scorbunny, and we have caught him."

He didn't like that at all. He had arrived very late, they already have him. But he quickly calmed down. He could go to rescue him. So he kept listening to the talk, hoping to get information from where they had him.

"We are going to move it in the house we have temporarily." Said a voice.

"Perfect." Said a female voice. "Prepare everything. We will not leave town soon."

It was a real shame they didn't mention its exact location. It would be very difficult to find it. They also said they were leaving soon. They already had Scorbunny, they had no reason to stay. He had to hurry.

"Any news from the Riolu?" She asked.

Riolu was surprised. Did they know he was here?

"No, we haven't seen it." The voice answered. "How do we know it's here?"

"According to our sources, he told us he was coming here to meet his friend."

He did not understand at all. He had made sure that when he entered here, he did not let anyone see him enter.

"Find him as quickly as possible and I don't want him to run away again. Did you understand?" She asked.

"Yes ma'am."

After that, communication ended. This changed things. Now that the patrols will be attentive to him and only him. They knew of his intentions and would surely keep a more secure watch on Scorbunny.

It didn't matter, difficult or not, he was going to rescue him anyway. He put the radio away and continued on his way.

Riolu, before crossing the street, looked around, seeing if there was a patrol nearby and crossing undetected. His plan so far would be to go to the center of town, there he'll be-.

"There is!" Someone yelled from behind Riolu.

He looked back at a member of la Cruz Negra. Then he pointed his gun and shot Riolu. The gun didn't fire bullets, but tranquilizer darts. Thus facilitatinghis capture. Riolu's reflexes made him crouch down and avoiding the darts.

So Riolu, did not hesitate for a moment and ran away from him. "Catch him before he escape!" Yelled another.

Now the chase began. Riolu, ran at full speed, without looking back. The members of la Cruz Negra shot him, but they missed. Due to the size of the young and that he ran very fast. More than an average human. Other members appeared from the right, and he ran to the left, but nearly falling to the ground.

He was running on a straight street until they appeared in front of him. He knew he could not turn around, so he jump to a window of a house, to take another route. He broke the window when entering the house, causing him to scare the residents of the aforementioned home, although it is also due to his appearance.

Riolu, look at them briefly. "I'm sorry!" He said, and kept running. He wasn't worried about seeing their faces, as he was concentrating on misleading his pursuers.

Riolu, reached the yard of the home, but there was no path where he could run. And the bad thing is that they would not be long in coming. So he got the idea to climb to the roof and keep running.

He quickly ran towards a small light metal structure and jumped to propel himself up. Then with another jump to the wall and a little push, he reached the ceiling. A member came and shot him, but missed.

He was still running on the roofs of the houses. Luckily they were together and it could cross them very easily. There were already members of la Cruz Negra, on the rooftops and shooting at him, but still without hitting him. But without realizing it, Riolu, he had come to a house at the end of the roof and it was about to fall onto the street.

By instinct, he had jumped. The jump was so great that he had reached another roof at the end of the street.

He was surprised. He didn't think he could jump that high. It was so... abnormal. He stopped thinking when he saw that they were still following him and ran forward.

He noticed that there were people from a Cruz Negra, trying to reach the rooftops and that some were following him through the streets. Riolu, went to the left and jumped down. He wasn't so impressed that nothing happened to him and moved on.

He saw a small alley and went to beech. But before going through there and thought quickly. The best thing would be to lose sight of them, so as not to drain his energy and look for Scorbunny. He had to make them believe he went that way. So he threw a garbage can on the ground, to make a noise that would attract them and hid under a car.

Riolu was silent and saw the feet of those men who were chasing him. They all went to the alley without knowing that he was not there. After making sure no one was around, he got out of the car and went to the right.

After crossing several streets, he entered an alley. Then he sat behind a garbage container. There he take a deep breath.

It would be a miracle if he managed to find Scorbunny, and free him. If he goes look again, a chase will start again. It's more complicated than he thought and there was no way he could fight them. This was very he continues like this, he would be caught for sure.

Then he stood up and continued walking down the hall. La Cruz Negra, would go around here to look for him and he did not want to be when that happened, at the end and then left turned left. As he was about to leave, a flashlight beam was pointed at his face.

Riolu, stood up and raised his paws. He was surprised, he did not expect someone to suddenly appear to him. He was lost, he noticed a gun and he was going to shoot him a dart. Game over.

Then he fired. And he fall to the ground. But the victim was not Riolu. He looked back and saw a member of la Cruz Negra on the ground. He could see no dart hitting him, but he was unconscious. He had heard an electric shock at the moment of impact. His first thought was friendly fire, but he quickly dismissed it. Since the height difference between him and Riolu, it was obvious. There was no way the shot would miss, much less at this distance.

The person was still pointing the gun at Riolu, who was shocked at what happened. If he wasn't theirs, who was him?

"Hey, isn't that-?" Someone asked. Obviously it wasn't the person with the flashlight and the gun

"I know." Said the person with the gun. +Who you are?"

Riolu looked back at him, but using his left arm to shield his eyes from the flashlight. "My name is Riolu." He replied. "Lower the gun, please."

"Not until you say what a Pokémon is doing here. In this town."

Pokemon? Riolu, was confused by the word. Was him a Pokémon and did he know what he was?

"Pokémon?" Riolu asked, still confused.

"Don't be an idiot. These bullets don't kill, so I have no problem shooting you."

He was already losing his patience and it looked like he would shoot him at any moment. Only if he answered the question. Something that he didn't think he could.

Luckily for him, the other person stepped in and put aside his friend's gun. "Sister, I don't think he is an Ingobernable." He said.

Sister? When he saw that she no longer have her flashlight pointing on him, he lowered his arm. He was seeing two people. A boy and a girl, young. The girl had a brown jacket, a ponytail and a yellow bandana tied to the right arm, but with a badge with a red circle in the center and a gear around it. The other one had short brown hair, the same as hers. But he carried an object in his hands that he did not recognize. He had a red bandana tied on his left arm and was also wearing a badge just like her.

These two people... he recognized them.

"Maria and Mario Gómez...? Riolu said

The two brothers looked at Riolu. "Excuse me?" Maria said.

"You two... are the survivors of that incident from 9 months ago?"

"It's okay!" She said, pointing the gun again at Riolu. "Who exactly are you and what do you know about us?"

Riolu, raised his paws again, but Mario, intervened. "Please, Maria. Don't shoot him."

"I'm not going to kill him, brother. Also we do not know if he is a Ingobernable. The best thing is to knock him unconscious and don't let him a chance to take us down."

"Maria, look at it. I don't see he going to hurt us Plus you gave Buneary a chance. Can't you do the same with Riolu?" Mario said.

Riolu, was grateful to Mario, for helping him in this moment. He also understood Maria's actions perfectly. She was not doing it simply for doing it. She did it to protect herself and her brother. Would he do the same if he were in her place?

Those words made her lower her weapon, but without first sighing. "All right." Then she look at Riolu, seriously. "Who are you and what are you doing here?"

"As I said, my name is Riolu, and I'm here to look for another… Pokémon called Scorbunny."

Then they heard several people approaching. It must have been Maria's shot, any member of la Cruz Negra, who has heard it, were heading here. They would be caught soon.

"Maria, we have to go." Mario said. "We also have to meet with Santiago."

"True." She said, and looked at Riolu. "Once we are safe, you will tell us everything you know. Agree?"

"Yes." Riolu said.

The three of them soon left the place and went somewhere where they could have the talk and meet up with this guy Santiago.

He did not expect to meet the two brothers from the incident. But what surprised him the most, they knew what he was. Not only that, they seemed to know who los Ingobernables are. And why did Maria say that he belonged to them?

Either way, he had a lot of questions and they could answer them.
