Matthew 7:1-12 Sermon on the Mount continued
Welcome brothers and sisters to another Bible Teachings, today we continue from Jesus sermon on the Mount on Chapter 7. Here we have something that tends to be forgotten easily when we go out to seek others or be evangelist. The first is how we judge others when we need to be mindful of our own ways. Judging others has over the years become common that we tend to forget that while Jesus in his time judge those in sin, he still carried his love for those lost and those that seek him. Sin itself has always found ways to block ourselves from Lord Jesus, many times it's what divides us from God. For our Lord is holy and pure, and if we were to try seeking him in our own ways instead of God's, we will appear as filthy as rags. Judging others is never our job, but to spread the good news and continue this by showing what God considered as Sin and how we should live on daily life.
Many times we forget where we came from because of our understanding, yet have no compassion for the lost that can hear. Think of this, if you were lost in a fog and someone tried to give you directions, you made mistakes, had some problems, and you even tend to forget that God command you to follow his way and path. The only thing that allows you to see or hear are the words spoken to you by someone else in the fog. As your faith grows with Christ Jesus, you are then assign to shout to others where they are and how to give directions. But alike when you were told how to move and walk in the correct path, the other lost in the fog is scolded by your own directions. You judge them for doing something wrong, shouting to them what they shouldn't do and how they can do them. Yet as you scolded that person you then became lost in the fog, yet the said part is when that happen you never realize your lost, because you became blind as the other once more.
This is what happens when we judge others instead of being mindful where we were once like everyone. To any unbelievers and believers alike, you mustn't judge others for what you have done yourself. We are to tell the good news, and help each other in fellowship how to correct ourselves and teach. For only one Judge exist on this world and the next, and that is our Heavenly father who is watching and knowing our every thought, action, and hearts desire. For us to Judge others we must also be willing to Judge ourselves. Be very mindful when you judge. For in Matthew 7:1-6, we are told from Jesus that when we judge, we are judge back by the amount of our judgement. I don't say this to scare you, but to encourage everyone to not judge and be thankful to our heavenly father for the things he done in our lives and others around us.
Ask, Seek, Knock
when we go further down from Matthew 7:7-12, Jesus explains about how to always ask, seek and knock for God. This is Jesus saying how we are to asked god even in times of trouble, daily seek for him and God will be find, knock on the door and it will be open. In many ways this was to say about how we should live our lives no matter the circumstance or situation.
Asking in prayer is our way to ask God, even in times we feel we don't need him and when we do the most. Every moment of our lives should be dictated by God in every moment of our lives. When you need to ask for something, God will give. But we must also beware that God knows what's in our hearts, and understand what God is saying to us. For the Holy Spirit is our helper and will pray to God in our behalf. There will be times you feel that God won't listen or that you feel stuck and have asked the same thing over and over again. But I can say that God is listening, and we need to continue our prayer even if it seems hopeless. Always ask God, yet also listen to what God has to say. But I warn that this doesn't come by feeling or literally hearing the voice of God. This is much more deeper then we can understand, and if ask God will hear.
Then to seeking the Lord comes with daily seeking. What I mean by Daily seeking is we should always seek God when given the chance, those who seek God will find him. Yet at the same time our intentions must be pure, this meaning that if you seek God only to fulfill something for yourself, you must be made aware that when you see God you should do this will sincerity, honest and pure. This I can say is hardest for our daily lives, sometimes you want to seek God because you demand something or ask for something that God doesn't want you to have. Many times as Christian we forget that it's not about us, but about serving others. For we can seek God the right way or the wrong way. Times like these we need to examine ourselves and ask "Am I doing this because I seek God, or because I want something in my life". We sometimes forget that we are to seek God because we are want to hear him and learn from our Lord Jesus. Don't try to act like you can pull the wool on God, he knows our intentions and knows our hearts, heck he knows us before we were born and knows when we will die. Because it's by his command and his will, He knows us before we know ourselves.
As for the Knocking, this is define by doors that are in daily living. Now your wonder what does that have to do with how I live, well it's mostly about how our in both our life and spirit there are doors that are presented. One of them is how we can ministry to someone, or how we can learn spiritually. But there is also another meaning, how these doors are meant to say God is knocking in our hearts and he wants to live in our daily life. These doors are not forced because that's not how God operates, instead it means that for many who are unbelief or who believe, we can hear God knocking in our lives, but are we answering is the question? Sometimes when there is opportunities presented in ourselves, how we open those doors is depending on our chose and willingness to open them. There are times when our doors needed to be shut, this comes in forms of temptation. Sin is like a thief that wants to steal and kill you from the inside, if we don't flee from those sins we allow ourselves to those unclean spirits to invade ourselves. Folks we must be careful how we open our doors, by our sight, hearing or speaking. Any of these can lead to many unclean spirits to enter our selves. Yet when God knocks, we should answer.
There is much that can be said, But sometimes we need to take what we heard and asked for the Lord for wisdom. For our wisdom doesn't come from our understanding, but rather what God allows us to understand. There are still mysteries that god has, yet one day when we meet our heavenly father all mysterious will be answered.
