Holiday Tropes – 200 words

The first thing that Hetty heard this morning was, "What on earth is that?" from Mr Callen, of all people. That definitely piqued her interest. The "That's horrendous," that Sam added made her need to investigate further.

She was met by the most horrible combination of clashing colours and patterns she had ever seen, which was impressive.

"I'll have you know that this is an extremely well knitted sweater," Deeks said, nose in the air.

"For an alien," said Callen.

"My Aunt Barbara knitted me this!"

"I told you she didn't like you," Kensi said.

"She loves me. She makes me a Christmas sweater every year."

"I think that's a sign of hate," Sam informed him, flicking the cuff that was dangling at Deeks' knees.

"It's awesome because it has a dog wearing a Santa hat."

"The craftsmanship certainly is remarkable," Hetty agreed, peering closely at it, making Deeks jump.

"Is that good or bad?" Deeks asked suspiciously.

"Oh, very good."

It really was, Hetty rubbed her fingers along the sleeve and nodded approvingly. Very good quality wool and, quite frankly, superior design. It was such a pity about the horrible colour scheme but apparently you really couldn't have anything.
