By the end of the next month, it would be painfully obvious to anyone who saw her that Virizion was expecting. As such, she sequestered herself on Rumination Field, her mates taking turns to stay with her.

Shortly after that, some of the Psychic Legendaries visited and started layering various illusions and psychic constructs around the field to keep people and Pokémon alike from coming upon it. Only those lead by a select few could pass through the protections and reach the actual fields. Any others would either be unable to pass through or get turned around.

"How are you?" Cobalion tilted his head lightly, resting beside the green form.

"I am really feeling them." Virizion answered softly, trying to find a position where she could be comfortable with her increased girth. "They're moving."

"Apologies?" He chuckled, resting his head against hers.

"I knew what would happen." Though, to be fair, she had expected eggs, not live-births. "I comfort by myself by imagining some of the others dealing with this." She chuckled as well, shifting again.

"Should we go somewhere else?" Nearly the entire day had been spend on her attempts at getting comfortable.

"I'm fine, Cobalion." Rolling her eyes, the Grass-type rose to her feet and stretched her limbs. "I can still rest well enough."

He smiled up at her, allowing her the dignity of pretending that her comfort didn't boil down to having to find the least uncomfortable position, usually by resting half on one of her mates.

She probably knew he did, but let him. Moving around a bit, she did look over the field. "I do wonder how long it'll take still."

He could only shrug, rising to join her. "I just hope they'll be around when it happens." None of them knew how to deal with birth, after all.

Laughing, she could only agree. "Biggest emergency, nature takes its' course."

"Hopefully the good course, though." He nuzzled her gently.

"You are just a barrel of positivity, aren't you?" The Grass-type gingerly stretched her legs. Was it just her imagination, or had they swollen? She had asked one of the men once, but he had waved her worries away. It made her wonder if there truly had been nothing, or if he had tried to spare her dignity.

"Someone needs to counter Keldeo and Terrakion." He playfully nipped her neck-leaf with a smile. "They are really looking forward to this."

"We all are." She pointed out, looking down to her stomach.

It was almost to be expected that she was alone when the pain truly started. For a few weeks now she had had phantom-pains, so when the real ones started she was taken off guard. A curse entirely unbefitting herself slipped from her lips at the realization. The humans had taken notice that Virizion had not been spotted for months, so the other three were on something of a 'tour' around Unova with Mew masquerading as her… such was the timing of her two children.

"Could be worse." A telepathic voice chuckled, a small light-green fairy flitting into the clearing. "You could have been truly alone."

"Small mercies." She took a couple deep breaths as the pain subsided. "There's no chance that you could get them?"
"I'll warn them, certainly." Celebi chuckled, glowing lightly. "But while they are getting here, let's focus on this."

"That sounds like they are not going to be here any time soon."

"Dramatic irony dictated that they are kind of public at the moment. Virizion teleporting all four Swords would raise some eyebrows." The small form smiled gently. "They need a bit to at least get out of sight."

She groaned at that statement… and a new wave of pain. "Oh Arceus, why life-births?"

"That I cannot answer." The Psychic glow increased briefly, summoning the Pokémon Virizion had chosen as her temporary attendants. "It's probably a Legendary thing."
