I slowly opened my eyes; I was welcomed by the white walls of a room.

Where the hell am I?

I looked around without moving, not really seeing much. I looked to the right to see my English teacher.

What's he doing here?

"Mr. Yamada?" I managed to whisper, earning his attention. "What happened?" I tried to sit up, only to be ushered back down and shushed quietly.

"Try not to move so fast, little listener. You'll tire yourself out more." I relaxed on the bed reluctantly, looking at him.

"I feel funny..." I mumbled, spacing out a bit.

"It's the pain medication you're on, it'll wear off in a few hours." I lowered my head back at the pillow, looking at the ceiling.

"W-W-Where am I?" I quietly asked.

"You're safe. In the hospital." He comforted me, pulling up a chair and I turned my head to look at him. "Do you remember what happened?"

"We were at USJ…... We got separated…. Is everyone alright?!" I worried, glancing at him in worry.

"Everybody will be fine. Izuku, Aizawa and Thirteen got the worst of it, but they'll be alright. Izuku's injuries have already healed up." I relaxed knowing that my best friend was alive and well.

"It was weird…." I started to say. "I was distracting the aquatic quirk guys, and a I sang it was like they were in a trance or something."

"Has something like this happened before?" Yamada asked and I shook my head.

"No." I confessed. "I've always been able to push back people and objects and freeze them…. But this was like I was almost… Controlling them?"

Does that make me a freak? I shouldn't be able to control people, should I?

"Interesting…. Do you suppose your quirk could be expanding?" I raised an eyebrow at that.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, we're all born with these abilities. When we get them is up to our bodies. But with some people, new abilities can come later in life." Mr. Yamada explained, and I nodded my head in understanding.

"Do you think that's what happened? Could that really be the case?" I questioned, looking up at him.

"It's very possible. Musical quirks are quite rare, but can be proven useful, like your own quirk and Jirou's." I gave a soft roll of my eyes at that, but he didn't seem to notice.

My quirk? Useless? Yeah right. I just about cost everyone their lives.

"Never mind that now. There's someone who's dying to see you." Before I could ask who, he left the room, coming back a few minutes later.

"'RUKI!" Izuku's scream made me jump slightly as he basically attacked me and wrapped his arms around me. "You scared me half to death! You could've seriously hurt yourself. Are you alright?" I gave small smile.

"I'm fine, 'Zu! Stop worrying, I'm alive."

Hopefully not for long….

"Y-Y-You had us worried sick!" Izuku was crying now. "After you passed out, it all went downhill. It was terrifying!"

"But you're okay?" I looked to him

"I'm fine." Izuku sat on the edge of my bed. "Now we just have to wait for you to get better."

"Is…. Is my Dad here?" I asked, wondering if he was going to come. I saw Mr. Yamada glance at me, a bit annoyed. I don't think it was directed at me though.

"I'm sorry, kiddo. He said…." He paused for a moment. "That he didn't want to deal with his kid if the school as going to cover the costs of the hospital bill."

I noticed Izuku's face had pure anger on it. He hated my Dad. I know he did.

"Oh…." I mumbled, looking down. "So he…. Doesn't want to see me?" Mr. Yamada sighed slowly.

"No."

Tears welled up in my eyes. Izuku moved so he was sitting next to me and he wrapped his arm around me, and I leaned on his shoulder. I heard Mr. Yamada leave, but I paid no mind.

He really doesn't want me…. He may be abusive, but I thought he would care when I was hurt. Who am I kidding? As long as it doesn't cost him anything, he doesn't give a shit.

"I hate him…." I whispered as Izuku gently wiped the tears from my face with his thumb. "I hate him so fucking much…"

"He doesn't deserve you…" Izuku spoke up, looking at me. "You're amazing. He's the dumbass prick who doesn't care how good he has it. And that good is you."

Wow. Izuku actually said a vulgar word? And a curse too?

Izuku gave me a slightly amused look.

"I know what you're thinking. I know what that man does to you, I think I have the right to call him a slur." Izuku paused for a moment. "No, I was wrong. He's not a man."

"A man doesn't hit their child…" I whispered, closing my eyes.

"It's okay." He took my hand, and I snuggled into him. "I'm here for you."

My heart beats quickly, but I'm not quite sure why. And I could tell that I was blushing slightly.

You can't have feelings for him. He's your best friend. Yes, he's pansexual so it's possible that you could be together, but not now. Not in this universe. He's your best friend, nothing more.

The door then opened again, revealing Mr. Yamada.

"Hey kids. So, Kakasu—" I normally would never interrupt a teacher, but I felt like it need to be addressed.

"Koruki." I commented, looking him in the eyes. "My name is Koruki. I don't want to be linked to Keikao. Not if I can help it. So please…. Call me Koruki."

I noticed a pure smile on Izuku's face, he squeezed my hand and Mr. Yamada gave a look of understanding.

"You got it, little listener. Koruki it is." He then handed me a bag. "I got you your clothes back. Your hero costume might need to be fixed though; it got a bit torn up." I shrugged at that comment.

Gives me a chance to redesign it.

"I needed to redesign it. The outfit was too tight for my liking, despite being looser than the usual outfit." I undid the bag and gasped happily, bringing my Hamilton hoodie to my chest, hugging it. "Oh, my beloved. How I've missed you." That earned a laugh out of the two. "What? It's soft and it gives me hugs."

"It's also four times your size. You're an extra small and you always order an extra-large." Izuku laughed at that statement and I glared at him.

"Do not judge me." I warned him earning another laugh.

"Once you change, I can sign you out. Then Midoriya can fill you in on the sports festival." Mr. Yamada then stepped outside, and I hopped down from the bed, not really caring if either of them saw me change.

"What about the Sports Festival?" I asked, sliding off the hospital gown and putting on my jeans.

Is it cancelled or something? I wouldn't blame them.

"Mr. Aizawa told us that the Sports Festival is going to go on as planned." Izuku explained and I hummed.

"Really? Even with what happened at USJ?" I asked earning a nod and I slid off my hoodie. I felt my ears, realizing that my earrings were missing.

"It looks like it." Izuku commented. "Oh." He handed me a bag with my earrings in them. My two sets of lobe earrings and two sets of helix earrings. "Here you go."

"Thanks." I responded, starting to put them in. "So they're really going through with this?"

"Nobody really seemed to give it a second thought." Izuku responded and I hummed, putting on my sneakers.

"A little weird, don't you think?" I asked, pulling my hair out from under my hoodie.

"Definitely. But it could be interesting." Izuku commented and I chuckled.

"I guess so."

This should be fun.

"You ready?" Izuku asked and I nodded. "So…. I talked to my mom."

"Oh?" I asked, hoping he didn't reveal anything.

"Nothing serious. But she knows how your Dad is with work and how you'll be home for a few days at least… So she offered to have you stay at our house." I looked at Izuku, like he was an angel sent from whatever God was up there.

"Are you for real?" I asked and he nodded.

"And she already confirmed it with Keikao. And he agreed." I smiled and hugged him.

I'm safe! For a few days, at least. If I had stayed home, my injuries would've probably gotten worse.

"Thank you!" I exclaimed, happily. "Have I mentioned you're the best friend there ever was?"

"Maybe once or twice."

"Ugggh!" I exclaimed once we were outside. "I smell like fucking hospital!"

"Luckily, we have an operational shower." Izuku joked with me.

Very funny, Zu.

"Come on you two. I'm driving you home." Mr. Yamada spoke up, opening his car door.

"Oh… Are you sure?" I asked, confused on why he would give us such hospitality.

"Of course. I'm not letting you two walk home at this hour. Get in." He ushered us in the car, and he started to drive us home.

"Koruki, remember to take those pills the doctor gave you, understand?" Mr. Yamada asked and I nodded.

"Yes Sir." I responded.

"I'll make sure he takes them, Mr. Yamada." Izuku commented and he nodded.

"Good. I'm counting on it."

Mr. Yamada pulled up to Izuku's apartment. Before we had a chance to get out, Mr. Yamada stopped us. He handed Izuku a little sheet on paper.

"This is your number… And Mr. Aizawa's." Izuku commented, looking up at him.

Why's he giving us his and Mr. Aizawa's number?

"Whenever you need anything. I mean it. From both of you. I can tell the two of you are smart. But you also need fatherly guidance. Sho— Aizawa and I are here for you if you need anything at all. Understand?" He asked and we nodded.

"Yes Sir, Mr. Yamada." I answered, earning a smile.

"Call me Hizashi." He told me, copying my words from earlier. "At least when we're alone."

He wants me to call him by his first name. Just like how I want to be referred to my first name and only that.

"Okay…. Hizashi." I responded and he gave an even bigger smile.

"C'mon, Mom probably made dinner already." Izuku commented, opening the door.

Food!

"Ooh, Auntie's cooking's the best!" I exclaimed, following him.

"Better than The Grill?" Izuku teased me by bringing up my favorite restaurant.

"Don't patronize me." I pushed him with my arm slightly and he laughed.

The Grill sounds really good, but I still love Auntie's cooking.

I laughed at Izuku poked at me and we ran into the house.

"Hello boys!" Auntie's voice called from the kitchen.

"Hi Mom!"

"Hiya Auntie."

"How's spaghetti sound?" She asked and I smiled.

"That sounds wonderful."

"Great. 'Cause that's what we're having." I laughed at her sense of humor as she motioned for us to sit down. "How're you feeling, 'Ruki?"

"Better than I was when I was freezing cold." I responded, truthfully.

"That's definitely better than the alternative." She smiled as she served spaghetti on Izuku's plate and then mine. "Eat up, boys."

Inko was like a mother to me. I never knew what it was like to have the feeling of a mother's love… Or a father's, for that matter. But Auntie was like a mom to me.

"Thank you, Auntie." I thanked her before I dug in.

"No problem, sweetheart." She said, ruffling my hair and kissing Izuku on the cheek as she walked by. "And you can stay here as long as you like. I know how abrasive Keikao can be."

You don't know the half of it.

"Thank you, Auntie. But once I'm clear for school, I think I'll go home." I replied.

"Whatever you want, honey. But know that our door is always open."

"I'll remember that, thank you." I said with a smile, then looking towards Izuku. "How long until the Sports Festival?"

"Two weeks." He responded and I nodded.

Two weeks to train. But I'm off for at least two days. Which means I have to push even harder once I'm good to go. I will become a hero one day.

Whatever it takes.
