Chapter 9: Lies, L.O.V.E or Lust?
Frisk looked wide eyed. She had to get out of this.
But for some strange reason, this monster wasn't after her soul.
Flowey scoffed as she attempted to cringe from his whispers in her ear. His neck long and lengthened; a stem that could escape the confines of the low levels of the ground now with the consumption of a soul.
He'd saved and deleted saves. He'd seen multiple endings. But every time the Bonehead got in the way. Every time her Determination changed the ending. Every time he'd just wanted to feel. Every time he'd just wanted Chara back. Her. He missed her. She got him. In fact, in these years, he'd somehow longed for her. And now this petty human who resembled her, longed for a bag of bones. So, this was his chance for a petty play. Play the timeline out, because whenever she was determined she saved. She caused a glitch in his control on time.
But a new fire brimmed in his vines, empowered by this consumed soul, a feeling of hate, and perhaps as of late a frustration of jealousy. Something resembling feeling. Something like love. Something like hate. Something ready to pop like a cork.
Frisk felt the vines move farther around her, in places that weren't normal. Tightening. One specifically seemed to creep up her body, through her breasts and to her neck.
"Hard to fight a monster when your soul isn't on the line? Can't make the same dodging moves? Have you gotten lazy?... You know, I don't care. Play this little timeline out the selfish bone man put into play. When you really find out what he wanted to get out of this you'll see he's no different. He, he, he!"
"Go away..." She scoffed.
"Keep up the determined façade. See you aren't Chara are you…but you'll do. And then after I'll just take your soul for fun. I wanted her back. The havoc we could shred this place into with. She was as close to I've ever had to Love. And now all I have is L.O.V.E. So now I have you to take it out on…"
She looked to her shoulder to see a twisted grin on his face. She couldn't fight. She wouldn't hurt a monster. She wouldn't betray that trust…and for that matter she had nothing to fight with.
"Missing the blue bones now? And now you've just let him heartbroken…. how fun. How does it feel to go numb? Oh, surely you must be feeling that." He raised an eyebrow, as she bit her lip. Did he mean the regret or the strange feeling of something invading her body?
"…That feeling…" Flowey hissed into her ear again. "…When everyone starts to walk away, when nothing feels good and it hurts… and life isn't…quite the same. He, he, he…oh this is good. You're the closest I've gone to feeling you know…you illicit an amusement I can't get out of my head…" He cackled as a vine seemed to creep through her shirt and wrap itself around her breast.
"Ah, but the children…so stupid. They're always afraid. Fight and run. Easy to surprise. But now you, the only adult human who hasn't wanted to kill us. The infamous monsters that they banished below…the things of nightmares, aren't we? I told you it's kill or be killed…but if you're lucky enough not to be, then surely you'll go numb in this limbo of day-to-day boring surviving in this damp mountain prison…but I promise to make sure every last moment ruins everything that could have been good for a human like you…Even pleasure will loose meaning."
Frisk lacked words. What had she walked into? Who was this Chara? And why did the vine now creeping through her sweater make her feel so powerless. She let out a small moan of disgust.
"Ah, ah, where are you're friends? Nowhere. Simply nowhere. See this waterlogged forrest has a few dark corners that few have found... And if you squirm again, I'll have your neck…" Flowey's grip around her neck tightened. She coughed.
Just then he rose a vine between her legs, rubbing. It woke something in her that put a lump in her stomach, and at the same time caused a quick electric bolt up her spine.
"I tOLD yOu NoT To SQuIRM…" His rage seemed to fill the darkness around him. His vine simply moved again, as if she could control her reactions. Her hips moved. Her stomach lurched.
"Just think how much more powerful I'll be with your soul. I won't even have to worry about getting those other souls from the King by trickery…"
"Just-stop-aghhch…" She muffled her words out between coughs for air.
"Oh, where is the determined child I saw before? No Toriel here to save you? "
She looked crossly at him, and dug her fingers into the vine on her neck, as his vines tightened around her, pressing harder against the skin of her body, tighter around her mounds, and holding her up between her legs, now a good ten feet off the ground.
"Oh look, lucky you to feel both pleasure and pain. Well then I guess the fun could go on but I-"
"Fun's ending Prince."
Flowey's grasp on her seemed to lack a small bit, when suddenly a blue light blinded her eyes, shooting straight in front of her.
She felt herself hit the ground.
"You okay kid? I can't use my powers in two places yet."
San's voice.
It hounded regret, yet sounded powerful. She didn't know as much as she thought about him, did she?
She looked up to familiar glowing blue eyes. She bit her lip. Could she look at him straight on? She wasn't about to admit that she'd hit her knee on the way down after he'd saved her, but she swore she heard a crunch. Her head was dizzy from all that had just happened.
She'd only registered the large monstrous animal-like skull behind Sans for a moment before she felt her body turn to mush, as she released all the tension her muscles had been holding onto. She had so many questions, and her body felt foreign. She felt helpless. She'd never quite been helpless like this.
"YoU? Why? YOU?! I have a SOUL now. Don't you see?" Flowey's severed vines from the flash of blue light, were scattered around. His face bent down like a wilted flower, as if he refused to stare his challenger in the eye. "Because YOU have been playing games with this human. I thought you were-"
"Yea, and I'm gonna make sure that soul is exorcised before you make it an inch further in this world. I killed humans before. And I don't think you have a full monster soul in you…you're a flower kid now. You ain't no prince, you ain't anything but a shrub kid. No monster soul has ever gotten this twisted before... I let this go on-"
"YOU LET THIS GO ON?" Flowey cackled. "Kid? Ha! You cant stop my resets! My saves! I'm not done with this timeline yet. YOU sent her down this path! You don't get to save…you're a monster like the rest of them with a bit of extra punch…or are you angry I got to touch her first?" He lifted his face to a maniacal grin.
"Watch yourself. You ain't no Prince anymore. I saw things. I ain't gonna be played for a fool like the rest of 'em." Sans tried to hide his shame and disgust behind a wild blue eyed glare, that seemed to emanate from the back of his skull.
"You remember things…I haven't quite figured you out yet, but I'm not about to let YOU wreck MY FuN! And not to mention, thank yourself for this Blue Bones…if I recall…you were the selfish one here. If I also recall…you're not the stronger brother, are you?" Flowey's eyes seemed to go dark. He managed to muster a single vine, shooting towards them.
Sans instantly used his powers to stop it. He didn't quite trust this. This flower had more power left than this. He couldn't be distracted, but he couldn't let him attack Frisk again. If he could he'd teleport her closer. But he'd be giving him an opportunity to attack. "Don't play games with me flower-boy." He shot another light of blue at the flower who seemed to duck under the earth just in time.
Frisk bit her lip and willed her legs to move. She crept to her knees pushing her body to kneel and looked up. There were only a few meters between her and Sans. She lifted her chest up and willed herself to move. Determination. She had to find it again.
It was then she saw them: vines had sprung up from behind Sans.
"SANS! WATCH IT!" She cried, before one burst up at her feet and gagged her. She watched wide eyed as he'd turned around with just enough time for them to go darting at his chest.
