A few days had passed since she last spoke to the Gryffindor trio, she was over the mystery of the Chamber of Secrets, the only thing was, everyone else took it upon themselves to try and solve it. They all had their theories, everyone thought the heir was either Harry or Draco. Jade focused on her school work, Blaise was the only one who seemed more interested in that than the Chamber so she'd been spending more time with him.

Since the disaster the pixies caused in Professor Lockhart's class, he hadn't brought any more live creatures. So any real excitement from the class was gone, all he did now was read from his own books and even reenact certain scenes out in front of the class. He often called volunteers to help him act it out and when no one volunteered, he always picked Harry to help, which was the only fun the class got to have. He had made Harry act out being a villager, a yeti, and a vampire, all with something obscure about them. Today, Harry was a werewolf and Draco could barely contain his laughter.

"Nice loud howl, Harry." Lockhart gestured towards him and Harry paused for a second and shared a look with Ron who was watching with an apologetic look on his face. Harry let out a weak howl and Professor Lockhart clapped his hands and smiled, "Exactly, and then, if you'll believe it, I pounced, like this," He grabbed Harry, "slammed him to the floor," Jade smiled as Harry went down, "thus with one hand, I managed to hold him down… with my other, I put my wand to his throat." Lockhart poked Harry in the throat with his wand and Harry flinched at the sudden rough jab. "I then screwed up my remaining strength and performed the immensely complex Homorphus Charm." Lockhart looked to Harry expectantly and Harry let out another weak howl. "Good, the fur vanished, the fangs shrank, and he turned back into a man." He let go of Harry and stood up, Harry groaned as he got to his feet. "Simple, yet effective. Another village will remember me forever as the hero who delivered them from the monthly terror of werewolf attacks." He bowed to weak applause only delivered by the other female students. Then finally, the bell rang. "Homework. Compose a poem about my defeat of the Wagga Wagga Werewolf! Signed copies of Magical Me to the author of the best one!" He called to them as they all packed up and made their way out of the classroom.

"Some prize," Jade muttered as she and Draco made their way to Transfiguration. "So," Jade started, she didn't know how to bring the topic up to Draco, she didn't want him to be angry with her if she said the wrong thing, he was looking at her, waiting for her to finish her sentence, "I heard a funny thing the other day."

"Yeah?" He asked and smiled at her, "What?"

"You know how everyone's talking about the Chamber of Secrets?" Draco nodded, "Everyone thinks it's Harry but he seems to think it's you." She glanced at him and his smile grew,

"The heir of Slytherin." He spoke and turned to face forward, "It's got a nice ring to it."

"You think?" Jade asked,

"Yeah, but it's not true."

"How do you know?"

"As far as I know the Malfoys aren't related to the Slytherins."

"Not even somewhere way way back?" Draco looked at her,

"No." Jade eased off then, they were approaching Transfiguration class. "You might be." He looked back at her and smiled and she rolled her eyes,

"I severely doubt that." She laughed at the thought. "Tomorrow's the first Quidditch match of the season. Are you excited?" She asked and Draco chuckled,

"Of course I am, we've been practicing every afternoon. I'm going to practice after class." He told her and she nodded.

"Good afternoon class!" Professor McGonagall greeted them as the Slytherins started to take their seats. Draco went to sit next to Goyle at the front and Jade took her seat next to Blaise. She noticed animals in cages all around the classroom and a bird sat perched on Professor McGonagall's teaching stand. "Today we will be learning how to turn animals into water goblets." She drew out her wand from her robes and pointed it at the bird, "Like so, one, two, three, Vera Verto." She tapped the bird lightly and the bird morphed into a silver goblet and the class gasped. McGonagall smiled, "Yes, very exciting. Now, if you'd all please grab an animal." She gestured around the room and Jade's eyes fell on a small black cat that was sitting and cleaning its paw. She got up from her desk and made her way to unlock the cat from its cage and scoop it into her arms, it meowed quietly but didn't try to escape,

"Hello there, I promise this won't hurt… I think." She tried comforting the cat as she made her way back to her desk, Blaise had picked a white rat and it immediately caught the cat's attention and started to wiggle in her arms, "Stop that." She told it as she struggled to keep a hold of the cat.

"A correctly performed incantation will emit a clear mist from the tip of your wand as the animal transforms but if it's performed incorrectly, the mist will turn to sparks and the sparks will be green." The class nodded, "Begin." From there, Professor McGonagall walked around the room.

"Vera Verto." Blaise recited as he tapped his rat three times and the rat quickly morphed into a white goblet. Now that the rat was gone from the cat's view, Jade set it down on her desk and it sat there, watching her.

"Vera Verto." She spoke clearly as she tapped the cat between the ears and it slowly transformed into a black goblet. Besides the speed of the transformation, hers looked identical to Blaise's.

"Hey, first try." He smiled at her, Jade had never gotten a transformation right on the first try, it was difficult for her to focus on all of the different things to perform a transformation correctly. Sight, smell, touch, taste… and there was one more. Just then, she heard a meow. She looked around the classroom but no one near her had chosen a cat. Another meow.

"Where-"

"I think it's…" Blaise pointed to her goblet and Jade groaned,

"No." She sighed as her goblet meowed again. Sound, she'd forgotten sound. Blaise recited the incantation again and his goblet turned back into a rat perfectly. She rolled her eyes, "I hate you sometimes."

"It's weird, you only say that in this class." She bumped his shoulder with hers and he chuckled but broke into a laugh as her goblet meowed again.

"Shut up!" She poked him in his side with her wand and he flinched away from it and fell off of his stool. Jade laughed at his crumpled form before he started to stand up, "You should've seen your face!"

"Don't make me-"

"What?" She quirked her left eyebrow and he turned his wand at her,

"Vera-"

"You wouldn't!" She gasped and he placed his wand on the desk.

"I'd never." He told her and she watched him for a second before she turned her failed goblet back into a cat who looked around rapidly, trying to understand what had happened to it.
