Chapter 9

It was to be the final rally.

In a matter of weeks, Ubet has tried to get his numbers up. Yet at the same time, his people have called for him to end one Amai mask. "He's a monster hero! He should have been taken down along with the other freaks."

Just one of the many colorful comments his people have been tweeting him. It's why he left the last bullet with the man he can trust. Commander Ozul.

Ubet told him to do with it as he saw fit, just as long as it benefited his image. Ozul smiled with great enthusiasm.

Since then Ubet has focused on his campaign and at the same time try to find where the bodies of Garou and his family went. For now, politics take center stage! He brought along Fink and the Brawlers for security measures, Ozul would be on look out just in case.

The whole thing would take place in the heart of City H. Chet's supporters were all calling, chanting his name as he came out on the stage. They screamed with great passion. Like moths to a flame, these people will follow him until the end of time.

"LADIES, GENTLEMEN, HOW ARE YA?" he asked.

Once more they screamed with great passion. "I got to say, we have had an interesting month and a half haven't we? But we are looking towards a brighter future! A future where we don't depend on human wannabes to be the heroes we need to protect us!"

The ground suddenly trembled.

The sirens went off. "Warning, level demon threat in the area, level demon threat in the area…"

The people appeared worried, but Chet waved them off. "Nothing to fear everyone, we got the best security money can buy…"

"Warning, level demon threat in the area. Hero Amai mask is currently engaging threat, please, evacuate the city until threat is contained…"

Still he waved off the notion, until…

CRASH!

His body bounced along the pavement, but he elegantly landed on his feet and came to a grinding stop. Amai was a little bloodied and slightly embarrassed. He spat out a small wad of blood to the pavement before rolling up his sleeves again. But, not before he turned to Ubet. "DID YOU NOT HEAR THE SIREN! GET OUT OF HERE! THE THREAT IS TOO CLOSE FOR SUCH A GATHERING!"

"Mind your own damn business!" Ubet snapped back. "I'll send the Brawlers if it gets bad."

Amai sneered as he tore off the rest of his shirt, without hesitation he turned monstrous before he glared down the street and went into a full sprint! The crowd was disgusted at the sight of him, yet they heard a powerful BOOM echo the city walls.

The sirens stopped and the monster was declared dead.

"Demon threat cancelled, I repeat, demon threat cancelled."

He returned covered in gore, and had yet to turn back to his more… palletable appearance.

"YOU MONSTER!"

"YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED WITH THE OTHER HORRIBLE CREATURES!"

"KILL HIM!"

"KILL IT, KILL IT, KILL IT." The crowed chanted to Ubet.

Ubet appeared to be sweating a little, after all, it's Amai Mask, this was broadcasted live. "Everyone now isn't the time…"

BAM

The crowd screamed as Amai suddenly fell to his knees and collapsed!

Ozul came out of hiding and was smiling from ear to ear. "I got the bastard!" he cheered as he held a smoking gun.

Ubet forced a smile. "And there we go, you see. I am a man who keeps his word!"

"More like one who tells people what is best…"

Ubet froze as he saw him, Boros has come to the rally but he was smiling oddly. "Ah, yes, look who it is, too little too late now. The threat is dealt with!" Ubet stated as he pointed to the fallen Amai Mask. "Another monster hero taken out!"

Boros stared down at Amai rather coldly before he turned his focus on Ubet. "Would you care to explain the reason why you killed him, despite him risking his life to protect you and your… people?" he asked in a rather condescending tone. "I mean, what monster would have put their life on the line for an asshole like you?"

"HEY! THAT'S OUR FUTURE PRESIDENT!" Ozul protested.

"Silence, and speak when spoken to!" Boros demanded, yet there was something odd about him. This surge that even Ubet himself felt from where he stood. It made Commander Ozul shut up rather quickly.

"You kill the wrong enemy, you attack the wrong people, you have no idea what damage you are doing, but I doubt you care. After all, when elected. These people mean nothing to you, you gain what you desire and have no longer a need for their… support."

Ubet glared at him as he clenched his teeth. "I had enough of this, Brawlers, defeat him!" he ordered.

The Brawlers remained where they stood. "Negative," they said at the same time.

"Boros is too powerful, rate of success is 0.00003%" said Street Brawler.

"No other options available…" said Knuckle.

The people began to grow nervous. "You are suppose to protect us, attack him!" Fink ordered.

"Now, this isn't like you at all, old friend…"

Boros smirked as he stepped off to the side, people froze and whispered as the man behind Metal Knight stood in wait! "Bofoi?" whispered Fink. "No, impossible, I heard you… you were killed!"

"Hearing one thing, is different than seeing it. Old friend, I am just fine. I went into hiding to study the family of Garou from afar. Did you really think there wasn't a reason for me to entrust one with my lab and research? I grew curious to Alley Brawler. At a young age she demonstrated great promise as well as brilliance. I was testing them for the wrong reasons, and for the wrong thing. Miss Brawler proved to me this family is out to help those around them. Not take over or harm the people of the world!"

"Why… why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you say anything!?" Fink demanded.

"Because, I feared you would react too brashly to my research… and I was correct and incorrect in keeping that information from you. You took out a valuable resource to this world. Even I noticed how monster attacks were decreasing, and yet, you helped this man cull some great heroes?!"

Fink froze.

Ubet glared down at them. "We know the truth about Boros, he's an alien!" shouted Ubet.

"So?" Boros asked in a rather uninterested tone. "You know, I am sick of this game…"

Sirens went off once more, this time, a level dragon threat. Yet, as quickly as they wiled, they went silent. "Threat has been contained, repeat, threat has been contained."

"Ah, it appears that was but a warm up…"

"What are you getting at?!"

Boros however continue on, he came closer to the stage before he turned to the Brawler Brothers. "Release emotional binding," he said.

Their eyes went dark, but then lit up again to the familiar orange glow.

"Hehehe, I made Tatsumaki say Balls in public…" snickered Knuckle.

"Wait! No!" Fink went to his jacket and took out the device once more. He tried to use it on the brothers, only to have it snatched from Street. He crushed it instantly. "It never worked asshole, we were just faking it… by the way… I hope you like prison jumpers…" The two walked off the stage.

Then Amai mask sat up!

People jumped and gasped as he sat himself up, he stretched himself out and cleared the bullet fragments from his brow. "That did sting…"

Ubet and Fink went pale, Ozul too for that matter.

Boros on the other hand was smiling the biggest grin. "You appear to understand now, the bullets… were never meant to kill… my own little personal touch on that…"

"Wait, YOU!" Fink demanded. "YOU MADE THESE BULLETS!?"

The smile grew on Boros. "Tell me, if I designed such a thing, why would I help those who wish to harm my family a way to kill them? I may not have gotten back in time to stop this, but at least… I made certain they wouldn't parish from a fool's mistake!"

Then the sky went dark…
