Chapter 9: Finding the answer
MEANWHILE with Shadow and Amy
In the room with the pink and black hedgehogs. Amy was sleeping next to shadow lying in her bed across the room. Shadow was lying on his mat next to the window.
"Mmmm…hmmm… hm?" the sunlight and the chirping birds wake him up. He starts to sit up.
"owww" he looks at his side and looks at the wound. It's not healed fully yet.
"That's weird, I should've healed by now!" he says. He scans the room and notices Amy sleeping in the bed not under the covers. He stares at her beautiful face for a minute then stands up. He sits in the bed next to her.
"Mmmm… Shadow…" she says in the middle of her sleep.
"Geez lady I didn't know you dream of me." He says quietly. He puts his hand on her shoulder and stares at her for a moment. He stands up and goes to the window and looks out at the small snowy village. He opens the window and jumps out through the village over the houses. Nobody seems to see him disappear over the walls.
Meanwhile with Knuckles and Rouge.
After the next day in Jungles village, Rouge wakes up with knuckles out cold next to her. she walks out of Bed and goes outside. There's a bunch of villagers dressed in jungle attire working and kids playing with a ball. Most of the villagers notice her and she takes a stroll through the village.
"Rise and Shine sleeping beauty!" A feminine toned voice yell's at her. she looks around and see's a jungle cat dressed in jungle attire with Cream and cheese.
"HI Rouge!" cream waves her hand. Rouge walks over to them.
"I am very sorry for my guards tranquilizing you guys yesterday. We thought you were intruders." The jungle cat says.
"It's fine. Now! Mind explaining who you are?" Rouge asks.
"Ydolem the shamanic priest of this land." She answers.
"Yeah she's also a fortune teller. She told me my future. I have three kids, I get married, a new enemy comes after me." Cream said.
"Okay mama, alright! So, mind telling me where we are?" rouge hugs cream and asks Ydolem.
"mmmm… c'mon in and I'll explain" Ydolem invites both of them into her hut.
Suddenly a guard calls out Ydolem.
"Madam. We have two more people approaching the village. A woman and a blue hedgehog." The guard says.
"Wait, its them!" Rouge says and Cream pulls out the watch and calls sonic.
10 minutes Earlier
Sonic was walking with sally while carrying her on his back. She's asleep. Sonic kept going. He stumbles through the bushes and jungle determined to find the others. He looks at the watch and finds they're almost there.
"Mmmm… are we (yawns) almost there?" she asks waking up.
"Not much further now." He follows a trail and sees a giant wall with stacks.
"HALT!" A scout tells them with his bow and arrow ready for them from a tower behind the wall. Sonic stops and stares at him. sally sees him too and looks around. a bunch of guards with spears run through the gates with spears ready for them.
"Ok guys we don't want any trouble just looking for our friends." Sonic explains. They all don't seem fazed by his words.
"Spears down guys" Ydolem commands them with rouge and cream coming to see them. They all put away their weapons.
"Hey guys!" Sonic says
"Knew you'd find us Sonic." Cream says happily.
"Where's Amy and Shadow?" Sonic ask's
"You're guess is good as ours blue!" Rouge says shrugging her shoulders.
"My guess is that the rest of your comrads are at the other villages." Ydolem tells them.
"Thanks for the information miss…?" Sally says.
"Ydolem" she answers her.
"we also have the red echidna in one of the huts but he might still be…. drugged." She explains.
"I don't care much for him." Sonic says.
"come to my hut. I'll explain everything there." She insist. They all follow her back in the village and close the gates.
Back with Amy
"Zzzzz… hmm?" she wakes up to check on shadow. Nothing but an empty bed.
"Shadow? He's not in his bed" she says then looks out the window seeing footprints from house to house leading out the village. She puts on her coat and goes out to find him.
"Ill be back!" she tells Kimira sitting in the living room knitting.
"Okay don't stay out too long!" Kimira says.
After 5 minutes of walking through the village and outside the gates.
"Shadow! Shaaaadooow!" she calls out for him. she sees his foot prints and follows them through the snow. She finds him a minute later leaning next to a tree.
"Shadow! Are you okay? What are you doing out here?" Amy asks seeing him holding his side and on his knee leaning next to the tree.
"I'm fine… Go away! I don't need the likes of you to look after me." Shadow says. Amy looks worried for a moment.
"Shadow, you are obviously hurt and need to rest. You shouldn't have come out here!" she says. "please let me help you."
"ENOUGH! JUST LEAVE… me alone." He falls on the ground. Amy falls back with him.
"Oh, c'mon shadow you nee-" She pauses for a moment and sees him facing up her skirt and blushes hardly.
"EeEeEeEe! Shadow how could youuuuu!" she screams out and pulls out her piko piko hammer. She swings for him but stops near his head. She sees his bleeding again from the side.
"Oh shadow… that wound doesn't look so good." she said. She sees a waterfall and goes towards it with a towel she still had in her pocket. She wets it.
"Don't worry Shadow, ill take care of you." she puts it on his side.
"Haaahh hah haahh" he hisses and calms down.
"I know Shadow!" Amy says and pulls him back to the village.
15 minutes later
"Mmmm" He wakes up.
"Shadow?" Amy noticing him waking up. He gets up feeling a lot better.
"Stop tending to me already. Can't you do something else?" Shadow asks. Amy looks at him dumbfounded.
"Shadow why are you treating me this way even though I'm trying to help? I bet I wouldn't be treating Maria this way if I was her." she says angry.
Shadow pauses for a moment and looks at her with his contempt look.
"I'm sorry I can't be who you want me to be! Maybe if I had Blonde hair yo-" Shadow cuts her of by grabbing her wrist. She blushes a little and they both stare at each other for a second.
"Eh… Shadow?" she is greeted with his other hand grabbing her by the neck and picking her up and slamming her against the wall.
"Sh…Sha-" Amy begs while he's chocking her
"Never talk about Maria like that ever again! you here me? Or I will end. I WILL FUCKING END YOU!" He tosses her to the side. She starts gagging and starts to catch her breath. She looks back at Shadow with fear and tears start to form her eyes. She scurries past him crying and out the window into the snow and into the forest.
"Why?" she says in her head in the middle of the woods.
"why does this always have to happen? I haven't even had time to cry over Sonic and now this?" she says on her news in the snow.
"WHY AM I THE OTHER WOMAN!" she screams out. She lays there into the forest sitting there sobbing. A hand touches her shoulder. She looks back and sees a strange human woman in blue with blonde hair.
"It's ok. Believe me, He's just going through some personal stuff. You're not alone fighting this war in your head. Trying to find out what you really want. He may seem like the type to push away but he's not afraid to let people in. He's just thinking. He's protective but he spaces out away from people. He keeps his promise's no matter what. He needs time to figure out who he really is." The lady picks up Amy from the Snow.
"Please don't be so hard on him. Just give him a chance. He's just coming face to face with his past." The lady says.
"Thanks and who are you?" Amy asks.
"Maria… Maria Robotnik!" a bright light appears and she disappears.
"Hey Amy what are you doing out here?" Logus asks.
Amy looks at where maria was but she's not there. Its like it never happened.
"Uhh… nothing I'm just getting some fresh air."
"Oh, well.. ok. Do you know the way back?" Logus asks.
"Yeah, yeah! I was just heading back." She replies
"Ok ill be out for a minute. Getting wood for the fireplace."
She heads back to the village. Through the town she gets to the house. It's starting to get dark. She gets to the window and hops back in the room shadow chocked her in.
"So, you've decided to come back?" Shadow said leaning against the wall with his right leg against the wall with him.
"Well, where was I supposed to go? Besides it's not like I came back for you." Amy replies.
"Sorry for chocking you!" shadow apologized.
"It's ok and sorry I talked that way about Maria." She Apologized back.
"water under the bridge." He said.
She walks toward the bed and sits on it.
"You still thinking about him?" Shadow asked.
"Hmm?
"About Sonic. You still thinking about him?" he asked
"Yeah. I feel like this is all my fault why we are here. All because I was jealous of sally being with him." Amy says.
Shadow walks towards Amy but stops a few feet away from her.
"So about Sonic, what do you see in him?" He asks. She looks up at him then back down.
"Ever since he saved me from Eggman years ago, I grown attached to him. He showed me that I didn't have to be afraid anymore. That I don't need to be an innocent bystander or a victim. When I was captured by Eggman I thought I was going to die. He locked me up into this room full of other animals and creatures. Said I was gonna be his next test subject. When I was almost taken in to be experimented on he busted right in and saved me. I couldn't thank him enough. I went to save the other creatures and right when I freed them the whole egg planet was being crumbling. He came to me in the nick of time and saved me again. then right then and there when he landed me safely. I fell in love with him. I remembered him. my whole life I chased him down for him to notice me. I risked my life from time and time again to help him. He did something special. He gave me purpose and hope to love him. until one day I followed him. Him and Sally were kissing. It shattered my heart knowing all I did for him and help saving the world was for nothing. It goes through my mind on repeat. I felt like my whole life was for nothing that he never loved me. But hey, I guess that's what love does to." She says getting up from the bed and over to the window. It's a full moon tonight.
"I guess love makes you do things that aren't you. when you love someone, it lets the walls in your head down. Leaving you vulnerable. No longer love is also called weakness it brings out the worst part in you. but I guess, it might have been me who felt that way. But if that's the truth… then I'm just a blind fool. She says with tears running down her eyes. A hand touches her shoulder. She looks behind her and sees shadow.
"But who am I kidding? You wouldn't know anything about love." She looks back out the window.
"So, you been trying to get a response from him your whole life. How simple a request? Trust me I know how you feel. You just can't let go, can you? You don't have to let go, you just gotta let him be happy. I don't believe it was all for nothing. Cause maybe someone else saw the same thing in you? and for the record you saved me once. You reminded me of Maria." Shadow tells her. she looks back around to him
"Remember back on the ark when you begged me to help sonic? You reminded me of Maria when she wanted me to protect the world. I did it for her… and you. You saved me that day as well." Shadow tells her.
"Did I? Or did I just do it for Sonic that day?" She replies.
"Oh, my Dear Rose!" He turns her around and puts a hand on her cheek while wiping her face.
"You'll soon come to find that I'm more superior than that Blue Jackass." Shadow tells her
"Then show me... Show me you're not just another fabrication of my mind." she asks.
Shadow dives in for her face and kisses her passionately. She's shocked for a moment but she returns the favor. He grabs her hand and she moves along with him on his shoulder. She stops for a moment
"*PANT*…*PANT*… S-Shadow…" She went right back for him making out passionately. She brings her arms over his shoulders and they fall back onto his mat.
