Perseus12: Doppio is quite lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you view it). The "man" is someone closely tied to Doppio's destiny. Anyone who watched or read JoJo's (Up to part 5) will know who the "man" is. I'm glad that you thought that the man was paranoid because that's how he acts in the manga (or anime). So, I guess that means I'm doing a good job at describing his character traits.
Colt Cobra: Kellen Goff is an utter mad man! He KILLED his role as Diavolo! I dare say that he almost surpassed the sub actor! I love both the sub and dub voices of Diavolo. Diavolo's voice in the sub sounds cold and calculating. Diavolo's voice in the dub, however, sounds unhinged and pissed, which really sells the idea that Diavolo is a very disturbed individual. Doppio's dub was also pretty good; however, Kellen Goff was the BEST out of all the dub actors. Every single line he said sent shivers down my spine! In fact, here's some of my favorite dubbed lines!
"Good thing I held my ground. Had I actually fled, I never would have gotten to witness this thrilling vision!"--Diavolo, episode 37.

Chapter 8: Perfect Insanity
7:00 pm, Inside the city of Rad…
The small streets of Rad were littered with bodies; the bodies of knights, temple monks, civilians, black dogs, and all sorts of monsters flooded the entire area.
The thick stench of viscera and death danced and pranced around the streets of Rad…
But not everyone was dead, indeed not. The virtuous and the sinful clashed their swords for the fate of Rad…
One spot in particular, however, would be the main battleground…
And that battleground would be the front gates of the sacred temple of Rad…
7:00 pm, front gates of the sacred temple…
"Maia! I fear that these degenerates are but a mere diversion! Kaguya could be in danger!" A knight called out their worries to Maia.
Maia dodged an incoming sword strike from a black dog and quickly killed him off. She quickly responded back to the worried knight.
"You don't have to worry! We already considered such a thing to happen! Let's just say that Kaguya is in good hands, hehe~!" Maia gave a mischievous grin towards the Knight. The knight was confused, but in the end, she placed her faith in Maia's words.
'To trick the enemy, you must first trick your allies! Those turds think that they can just waltz in and have their way with Kaguya! Well, that's not gonna happen!' Maia thought to herself with a cocky smirk adorned on her face.
Maia turned around to her right to see Chloe and Alicia fighting off hordes of imps (although they did so without any tandem present in their movements).
Maia knew that being overconfident in Doppio's abilities would be reckless. Chloe would serve as Doppio's "back-up", but perhaps even Chloe wouldn't be sufficient enough; so, Maia decided to add a last minute change in the plan.
"Hey Alicia! I'll lead on the troops of this area! Go with Chloe and give a helping hand to our favorite pink femboy!" Maia shouted out to the mixed-race duo.
"B-But Maia! This was not discussed in the meeting! I cannot work-"
"Adapt and improvise Alicia! Adapt and improvise! Kaguya's safety is important! We don't want another repeat of Geofu, right?" Maia said the last few words with a frustrated tone. Maia didn't want Kaguya to suffer the same fate Ruu-Ruu went through.
Alicia sighed out in defeat and (begrudgingly) motioned for Chloe to follow her lead. The imps saw their potential prey run, so they attempted to chase after them. However, their chase was cut short by Maia. The red head princess blocked their path and gave the imps a shit eating grin.
"C'mon~! I'm way better than those two! C'mere~! Don't you want to touch these puppies~!" Maia teased the group of imps as she groped her breasts in a rather suggestive manner.
The imps, being the braindead lustful creatures that they are, licked their lips with perverted excitement. That excitement quickly turned into fear once they all heard an impish scream.
The group of imps (approx 10) turned around to the source of the scream and were greeted by the sight of a dead imp. The dead imp had a knife lodged into its forehead.
"As if…"
The imps slowly returned their gaze towards Maia. And to their horror, Maia was brandishing throwing knives (5 knives on each hand, DIO style). Maia (seductively) began to lick one of the knives as she looked at the imps (with a demented glee in her eyes).
"Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero~! You know… I was going to bring my twin sabers, but I quickly decided against it. Knives are great! Quick to use, sharp, clean, and they are great projectiles! Sure they don't have good range, but I could care less... Do you wanna know… why I like knives? Arrows are too quick! Swords are decent, and the other stuff is cool too! But knives? With knives you can get close and personal to your victim… Knives allow you to savor the dying emotions of your prey… Well! Let's get started! After all, I can't wait to feel your raw emotions!"
To clarify, Maia wasn't crazy (she was NoT). Maia was just toying around with the poor imps, and her "toying" tactics were working.
The imps slowly backtracked in fear, this action did not go unnoticed by Maia. The red head princess couldn't help but chuckle at the imps cowardly "retreat".
"You aren't going anywhere! You little shits! Eat this!" Maia took aim, and with quick throwing motions, she threw all her knives towards the unlucky group of imps all the while she shouted how useless their efforts were…
"Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda…"
"MUDA!" Maia shouted out as she threw her last knife at the last imp. The imp went limp as the last knife pierced his heart.
Maia, seeing that the last imp was dead, gave out a sigh of satisfaction as she stretched her legs. Maia looked around for any nearby knights and she quickly found one. Maia quickly ran up to the knight and asked for the status of the battlefield.
"How much ground do we have? Have you seen Olga and the rest? She and some other knights were tasked to guard Ruu-Ruu and the rest of the non-combatants…" Maia showered the knight with rapid fire questions. The knight quickly answered all of the questions (to her best ability).
"So far it seems that we have a tiny edge in battleground! As for the dark queen, I spotted her nearby… She and the assigned guards are attacking any nearby enemies regardless if they are provoked or not!" The knight exclaimed as she ducked her head down to avoid an arrow.
Maia pulled out another knife and threw it at the knight's would be attacker. The black dog archer behind the knight quickly dropped dead with a knife lodged into his neck.
Maia quickly responded back to the knight's status report as if nothing had happened.
"Good to hear! And if Olga is nearby that means we got even more firepower! Her group and our group can join forces and kick some serious ass!" Maia pumped her fist in excitement. After all, nothing else could excite the red headed princess more than a good battle! (Well except a good bottle of booze from Thorn's Speedwagon bar).
'Yeah… I forgot about that issue. Olga was seen battling in Feoh and Ur… and in Geofu. Thankfully, she's wearing her hood right now. We don't want everyone to know about the alliance… We especially don't want anyone from Thorn to know about the alliance, that would cause a true uproar!' Maia cringed in annoyance after imagining the whining and bitching of the pretentious nobles. She cringed even more by imagining the pope's reaction to the alliance (oh she could already hear the old bastard's "holier than thou" speech!)
'Ugh, I forgot that Thorn is the city of snobby noble assholes! Yeah, we definitely got to discuss that with Celestine after this battle… Well, that course of action can't be taken unless we kill him… I-' Maia quickly halted her train of thoughts after she turned her gaze towards the roof of the temple.
'That armor! And that hair! It can't be… Vault actually came!' Maia thought to herself in disbelief as she watched Vault sneak about on top of the temple roof.
'But why? Is he waiting for Doppio? No, that wouldn't make any sense! Wait. He's waiting for… Oh shit! The temple has a back exit that leads to the forest! Then that means-' Maia quickly deducted the intentions of her former leader, she had to pursue him. The safety of Kaguya could be in jeopardy after all!
"Hey listen! You are in charge now! If Olga comes, assist her in any way you can!" Maia shouted out as she quickly jumped and disappeared from the sight of the knight.
The knight's mouth was wide open from pure disbelief! Maia was truly an unpredictable specimen…
The knight wasted no time to gather up her fellow comrades. She quickly shouted for everyone to direct their attacks at the (monster guarded) temple gate. After all, they had to save Kaguya…
However, the group of knights were oblivious to the "chess game" happening before them (Doppio and co vs Vault and the rest of his men)...
7:10 pm, Inside the shrine room of the temple…

Kaguya was shocked at her current situation. One moment she was praying to her god ( Tsukuyomi), and now she was being held captive by 2 ogres…
Or at least that's what she thought. The 2 ogres had grey and rotten skin with purple (glowing) veins. Kaguya could tell from first glance that the 2 ogres were "different" from the rest of their kind…
But the ogres weren't what had shocked her the most. What truly shocked her was seeing an old phantom of her past…
"Shamuhaza? And you two are soldiers of the black dogs… Why have you taken me hostage? Vault will punish you for doing this…" Kaguya stoically asked for answers, but she didn't receive any. Instead, she was greeted by the laughter of two black dogs.
"Ah, that's right… You don't know? Vault has decided to make Eostia his kingdom! A kingdom where we men reign on top, while you bitches are down below us… literally, hehe~" One of the black dogs licked his lips as he walked up to Kaguya (who was being restrained by the two ogres).
The (bald) black dog grunt stopped as he (perversely) looked at the attire and beautiful appearance of Kaguya. The young maiden had clear pale skin and short black hair with white ribbons on each side. She wore a top kimono that was colored red; she also wore two long white shawls that reached towards her lower legs. Her legs were covered by white stockings and she wore red sandals for footwear. However, the most notable feature she wore was her sun shaped crown.
The bald black dog couldn't contain his lust, so he (foolishly) set aside Kaguya's white panties and attempted to rip off the "seal" that covered her womanhood. This foolish action, however, would not go unpunished.
"Hehe~, let's see what we got here-huh? It's starting to glow-"
Shamuhaza knew what was about to happen, but he decided not to warn the foolish man (plus he thought it would be morbidly amusing to witness such a foolish death).
"What the-ARGHHHHHHH!" The black dog was engulfed by a white searing light…
The light quickly subsided and the poor black dog was burnt to a coal black crisp. Shamuhaza was stoic on the outside, but on the inside, he wanted to facepalm himself for witnessing such stupidity.
Shamuhaza finally spoke his first words. His deep and somewhat distorted voice echoed throughout the medium sized room…
"As you can see, touching the seal is not at all recommended. Such a job belongs to my exquisite creations… Fripp! Eno! You know what to do…" Shamuhaza motioned for the ogres to rip off the seal.
Shamuhaza quickly ordered the surviving black dog to guard the back exit of the room. Meanwhile, Kaguya raised an eyebrow at the two ogres' actions. She thought that they would perish like the previous victim.
"Shamuhaza… I see that you have sullied yourself with the evil knowledge of the forbidden arts. It's sad, truly it is. And no matter how hard they try, your vile servants will never-?!" Kaguya's stoic expression quickly shifted into one of pure fear. The ogres slowly, but surely, removed the seal that covered her womanhood. Kaguya wanted to scream; she wanted to cry in anguish for having her "purity" as a priestess stripped away.
"H-How-"
"Oh? How quaint. The dark arts that you and your foolish group have frowned upon, has now trapped you into your inevitable downfall…" Shamuhaza coldly spoke as he tilted his head to show "curiosity". Shamuhaza proceeded to explain how his creations had pierced through her seal of purity.
"It's quite simple really, it really is. These two magnificent creatures are imbued with the raw darkness of human sin… I know, how can such a simple vile energy vanquish my god-blessed seal? That's what you're wondering, isn't it? Oh look at how you've grown! You were nothing but a frail child the last time I saw you… But! Let's get back on topic shall we?" Shamuhaza proclaimed as he pointed towards his "beloved" creations.
"Fripp and Eno are pumped with dark energy… or in simple terms, they are filled with hatred, lust, greed, envy, and every other possible human sin. It took me a year of human sacrifices to give them the sufficient amount of power to break through your "pure" barrier. And now, I can finally create the anti-god! A beast capable of slaying any sort of wretched 'holy' god!" Shamuhaza exclaimed with unexpected vigor. The excitement in his voice was akin to a mad scientist.
Kaguya was still in a state of shock; however, she managed to find the strength to beg for her sacred chastity.
"C-Cease this at o-once! W-What do you gain f-from this-"
"What do I gain? Knowledge… Knowledge and power is what I gain. You and your followers are hypocrites! You all preach about purity and morality, but did you practice that out on me? No… You didn't. Look at what you have done to me… You have nobody to blame but yourself. You have brought this on yourself! Now accept your fate! Accept what you have brought down on yourself!"
Kaguya noticed the look in the eye's of her former follower. Pain, nothing but pain and sadness was present in the eerie yellow eye's of Shamuhaza. She quickly remembered how she had wronged Shamuhaza.
Perhaps Shamuhaza was right, she was responsible for her own violation, and knowing that made Kaguya lose all her resolve. The relentless wave of emotions were too much for Kaguya to handle, so much so that she abruptly fainted without warning.
"Oh? Did she faint from pure despair? No matter. She can still give birth to the anti-god even if she's unconscious. Fripp and Eno… Inseminate her insides so that Joanie can use that as his nutrients…" Shamuhaza ordered his beloved creations to commence the revolting process.
(Ost abruptly ends at 1:34)
However, a decapitated head flew right by Shamuhaza, which caused him and his ogres to divert their attention to the decapitated head.
The identity of the decapitated head was of the last black dog (the one Shamuhaza had ordered to guard the exit).

"Fripp and Eno! Hurry up and-?!" Shamuhaza blinked in surprise. What in the world was he saying?! Better yet, why was he holding up his beloved Joanie?!
"Urkk…"
"Argh?"
Shamuhaza quickly snapped his attention towards the direction of the (pained) moans. To his disbelief, Fripp and Eno had fist sized holes at their heart area.
The two "corrupted" ogres slowly fell down to the floor, completely unmoving…
"Wha-"

"I-Joanie?!" Shamuhaza quickly called out to his beloved insect "pet", who was not present in his hand. He turned in every direction to find the key of his vengeance.
"If you want to find your 'charming' pet… I suggest turning around…"
Shamuhaza turned around to see his precious creation impaled into a wall by a metal shard. The revolting insect was unmoving, which only suggested that it had perished.
7 years of planning, years of countless trials and errors…
Destroyed in mere seconds by a stranger. But Shamuhaza's mind wasn't engulfed in rage, no not at all. In fact, Shamuhaza was rather intrigued by the mysterious stranger; for some bizarre reason, he felt some sort of strange connection to the mysterious newcomer.
"How interesting… You slayed my dear Fripp and Eno in mere seconds. Such a feat could only be done by an ogre or a minotaur… I humbly ask for you to reveal yourself, my dear guest…" Shamuhaza curiously asked for the unknown individual to reveal himself.
The individual slowly revealed himself from the shadows. He had been hiding behind a shrine statue all along. But something was otherworldly about the stranger. The stranger's body was barely visible, but Shamuhaza could make out the bizarre clothing the individual wore. The clothing seemed to be many sizes too small for the man, and the only other visible features were his cold green eyes and his long pink hair…

"You're different from the rest of these simple-minded peons. You don't seem to be motivated by sexual desire… however, by collaborating with the black dogs, you are now my enemy…" Doppio revealed himself as he spoke with curiosity.
"I begrudgingly work for them. The black dogs are nothing but tools for me. I would never associate myself with such incompetent simpletons… I was planning to betray them after this raid-oh? You seem surprised…" Shamuhaza said.
"I suppose I am, but at the same time I'm not. After all, everyone working for the black dogs are simply doing it for their own selfish and perverted gain…" Doppio responded in a stoic manner.
"I don't understand any of you…"
Doppio raised an eyebrow at Shamuhaza's odd statement.
"Why are all of you so caught up with the notion of morality? It boggles my mind. You see... such a horrid illusion was made to hold us back. I observed such a fact from my earlier days… Morality only exists to hinder our true potential! The fools that preach such rubbish, preach it in order to stifle the pursuit of knowledge! Thus, I have made it my life's goal to help this land evolve…"
"And what of the black dogs?" Doppio asked Shamuhaza about his opinion on the group of serial rapists.
"I applaud them for realizing that morality is but a restraint; however, their goals are truly foolish! What knowledge or growth do they gain from converting this land into a kingdom of debauchery? I cannot fathom such a pointless desire!" Shamuhaza expressed his opinion with no filters attached.
"And what do you desire? What makes your ambitions justifiable compared to the black dogs ambitions that you claim to be pointless?" Doppio asked with intrigue and annoyance present in his voice.
"Justifiable? Still deluded by the serpentine lies of morality I see. Well, what I desire is the complete destruction of human emotions. I planned to slaughter any sort of self-righteous god! After that, I would have converted every being in Eostia into a beast. However, they would retain their basic thinking… The only thing missing would be their emotions! And thus, they would be free from the shackles of morality!" Shamuhaza exclaimed with pure excitement in his voice.
Doppio couldn't understand the thought process of Shamuhaza. To Doppio, Shamuhaza was an insane and empty man, devoid of any humanity...
"You're a mad man…"
"And here I thought that you would understand me. I can't explain it, but I feel that you and I are one in the same…"
"I'm nothing like you…" Doppio instantly responded.
"Oh truly? Well I beg to differ… You and I… are considered sinners, the trash of this land. However, the people that had the audacity to make such claims were sinners themselves! Hypocrites! They fear us… because they cannot understand us…" Shamuhaza explained his strange connection towards Doppio, who merely scoffed at Shamuhaza's analysis.
"The words that you say are as coherent as a drunken beggar's ramblings. So essentially, I'm asking for you to shut your mouth…" Doppio bluntly responded.
"It's a shame, I thought that you would understand me. It's always been like this… humans fear what they cannot grasp, so they reject the unknown. What I say is true. I have experienced that truth first-hand after all…" Shamuhaza said as he looked up to the ceiling.
Doppio was about to refute Shamuhaza's claim, but Shamuhaza interrupted his attempt.
"Your comrades… they don't know you very well, so it's only a matter of time before they start to fear you and your mysterious power. They will come to fear you and then they will betray you…" Shamuhaza said as he shuffled around his spot.
'This coglione… He thinks that he can play mind games with me? Olga loves me, without a doubt she does. And everyone else wouldn't do such a thing…'
'Right?'
Doppio shaked his head in self-disbelief, how could he doubt his own allies? He wasn't paranoid! He wasn't like…
I'm not like the boss! That piece of shit was paranoid of everyone! He didn't even trust me! Damn it! I don't have the time to be thinking of such things!' Doppio stifled his doubts and focused his attention towards his target.
"Was that your attempt at playing mind games with me? Because I must say, you have failed miserably. Enough with your meaningless and ceaseless rambling! Let us begin Shamuhaza… and Kin, you can step out now…" Doppio called out to the hidden mage. Kin swiftly came out of the offering box with a condescending smirk adorning his lips.
Shamuhaza didn't seem bothered by the fact that Kin had been listening in on their conversation.
"Let us collaborate on eliminating this powerful foe; then we can fight, sounds agreeable enough, right Kin?" Shamuhaza proposed teamwork towards Kin, despite the fact that he had just confessed his traitorous scheme.
"Hmm, very well. Let us finish this post haste… After finishing the pink miscreant, you shall be next in line…" Kin accepted Shamuhaza's offer with nothing but pure smugness in his face (because he was lying… no dignity).
"I will kill you both without even batting an eye… Now, let's-"
Doppio, Kin, and Shamuhaza turned their attention towards the entrance of the shrine room. The sound of scuffling could be heard from behind the entrance…
7:15 pm, outside the shrine room…
"Fucking hell! Don't let those bitches pass through!" A black dog cried out in frustration towards his (remaining) allies.
Alicia and Chloe slashed through any enemy that had dared to block their path. The two worked somewhat well together (despite their differences).
Chloe kicked a black dog right in the chest and quickly followed up by stabbing his jugular area. The black dog fell limp to the floor.
Alicia on the other hand, was dealing with two enemies at the same time. She quickly decapitated the head of the enemy behind her and kicked the other black dog right in the shin. Alicia capitalized on the kneeling state of the black dog; she quickly decapitated the man's head clean off, and with her leg, she pushed the corpse down to the ground.
Alicia failed to notice the black dog behind her. The remaining black dog lifted up his sword with the intent of killing Alicia, but his goal was never accomplished thanks to a certain dark elf…
"Go to hell you bitch-Wha?"
Thud*
Chloe sliced the man's neck wide open, which caused blood to ooze out unto the floor.
"I saved you from a rather humiliating end. Always be on guard human… and I also expect to be repaid for this, understood?" Chloe said with a cocky smirk present in her mouth.
Alicia narrowed her eyes towards the high and mighty attitude of Chloe, but she quickly setted aside her feelings of annoyance. She and Chloe had an important objective to complete after all.
Alicia and Chloe approached the door of the shrine room. They gave each other a nod of confirmation before they kicked the door down…
Meanwhile, at that exact moment…
Crash!*
Doppio and Kin diverted their attention towards the (now broken) shrine entrance. Alicia and Chloe quickly entered inside the room and got into their battle stances.
"I see that we have arrived at the right time! Now surrender! And we may just spare you from death…" Alicia offered a peaceful alternative to Kin and Shamuhaza.
"I concur with her! You two are surrounded, three against two! The odds are not in your favor… so-"
"How bold of you to assume that we are the ones who are cornered. Your naivety will be your downfall, Shamuhaza! Shall we?" Kin signalled Shamuhaza to commence their plan.
"What exactly do you plan to do? It matters not! I can read your movements with crystal clear accuracy! My power shall not allow your plan to come to fruition!" Doppio confidently proclaimed as he manifested Epitaph. Doppio's hair started to project the next 10 seconds (the future).
(Play golden wind ost mysterious 1:30)
'Now, let's see what we have here-WHAT?!' Doppio mentally screamed in disbelief. Epitaph's vision showed nothing but pure darkness, or more appropriately, it showed black fog engulfing the area.
"Chloe! Alicia! Cover your mouths! You shall not-"
"Oh but I will! Enjoy the nightmare inducing deadly nightshade! This shall be a great and wonderful battle of will! Perfect insanity!" Shamuhaza exclaimed excitedly as he shattered a glass ball into the floor, which caused the entire area to be engulfed in a dark fog.
"Alicia! Chloe! Do not inhale the fog! We don't know what sort of hazardous effects it has! Chloe?! Alicia?!" Doppio desperately called out the names of his companions. The fog practically rendered all eyesight useless. Everyone could only see pitch blackness…
"S-Stop! Don't t-touch me Beasley! Keep your hands off me!"
"N-No stay back! Please don't hit me again! I promise to be good, I swear! Please don't! Please don't! Please don't! Please don't! Please don't! Please don't! Stop it!"
(Ost ends, as in completely finished)
The panicked voices of Chloe and Alicia instantly caught the attention of Doppio. The pure despair in their voices was unbelievable to Doppio.
'What the hell is going?! Beasley is dead! I killed that bastard back in Feoh and Ur! And Chloe… wait! This fog most likely induces hallucinations! And perhaps the hallucination is determined by the victims greatest fears! Damn, I don't think there's a remedy for this merda… there has to be some sort of secret to this!" Doppio gritted his teeth in frustration. Chloe and Alicia were hallucinating their worst fears and moments.
Doppio needed to provide support for them! He needed to find a way to combat the fog!
"Chloe! Alicia! Focus on my voice! Pay no heed to anything else! What you're experiencing isn't real! The fog is the cause of this! None of this is real!" Doppio shouted out his "encouragement" to the two, but his words provided no avail to the distressed duo.
'What sort of fuckery is this! S-Shit I think I inhaled some of the fog… Oh no…' Doppio felt his heart rate accelerate after hearing the distorted voice of his former boss…
"Doppio… would you kindly help me with this task?"
Doppio started to sweat out bullets from the anxiety he was feeling. The confusion and fear he felt was too much to handle. The voice of the utter bastard he assisted taunted him with honey and venom laced compliments.
"Shut up! I am no longer your complacent servant! Begone you sniveling and putrid bastard!" Doppio screamed out in pure rage as he clutched his head in pure confusion and agony. Doppio fell down his knees and this unintentional action would grace Doppio with the truth of the dark fog…
'The voices… they're losing their volume… could it be?' Doppio slowly rose to his feet, and strangely enough, the volume of the boss's voice increased as Doppio ascended to his feet.

"Hmm, I see now. Nothing, I have nothing to fear! Shamuhaza! Kin! If this is your trump card, then I truly cannot help but say that this plan of yours is utterly futile!" Doppio exclaimed as he crouched and moved about to find Chloe and Alicia.
"You think that we wouldn't take into account the glaring flaw of the fog?! I'd like to see you all handle the fog… along with my relentless magic!" Kin proclaimed (although no one could see where he was).
'Ah found you two!' Doppio sighed in relief as his skin felt the touch of two tender hands.
"Now, shall we get back to the battlefield my beloved companions?" Doppio softly whispered as he forced both Alicia and Chloe to crouch down.
The two warriors regained a proportion of their composure after feeling the confident presence of Doppio near them.
"I-I... to show such weakness to my enemies! The complete humiliation I was put through! Those conniving snakes! I won't allow their duplicity to go unpunished!" Chloe growled out in embarrassment. The black fog had made her reveal some secrets she would've preferred to be kept untold.
Alicia on the other hand, felt sadness and rage. She was still caught up in the past. She still couldn't believe the true nature of her (former) father figure. Was Beasley always evil? Was the kindness he showed to her in her childhood fabricated? Alicia felt the urge to cry, but she knew that such an action was not appropriate to do in her current situation.
'Kin stated that he would cover up the flaws of this fog, but he hasn't done anything yet. Unless… oh shit! He's planning to take Kaguya away while we're distracted!' Doppio quickly figured out the goal of his two enemies.
'This plan aimed to kill two birds with one stone! They wanted to kill me and capture the princess!' Doppio nervously thought. He wasted no time in formulating a counter attack.
"Chloe! Alicia! Kin is planning to slip away with Kaguya! Handle him! I'll deal with Shamuhaza! Now hurry!" Doppio shouted out as he crouched down and cautiously moved around to find his target (despite having a vision handicap).
"We cannot see! How can we intercept him without our sight! The task you've given us is-" Alicia never finished her sentence due to the sudden intervention of Chloe.
"I can hear his footsteps. You see, we dark elves have extraordinary hearing thanks to our ear structure. Thus, I suggest you follow my lead; after all, your human ears are too inferior compared to mine… so with that said, let us end the mage once and for all…" Chloe whispered to Alicia. The blonde knight whispered a "yes" as a sign of agreement (albeit Alicia didn't really like the idea of being ordered around by a former enemy).
Chloe and Alicia hastily moved ( in a crouching position) and pursued the silent footsteps of Kin. Now, Chloe and Alicia would have been confused into who's footstep belonged to who (Doppio, Shamuhaza, or Kin), but that problem was solved by Chloe. Chloe explained to Alicia the distinct sound Kin made when he walked (Kin's footsteps were hugely different from the footsteps of Doppio and Shamuhaza).
"He's near… I can feel his killing intent…" Chloe silently whispered to Alicia. The constant fog-induced voices still pestered Chloe and Alicia, but the duo could tolerate the horrid voices because of their low altitude.
"I won't allow you to crouch! I do hope that you enjoy my gift! It's guaranteed to pierce through your expectations!" Kin announced with mischievous glee.
"Whatever do you mean-"
"Chloe! Jump up posthaste!"
Both Chloe and Alicia instinctively leapt into the air. Sharp earth "spears" shot out from the ground below them and nearly pierced their behinds…
If Chloe and Alicia hadn't leapt in time... the results would have been grim…
(Ost is at 1:31, and it starts to fade into the background)
"Try and stop me! Ah, I forgot… you can't stop me! If you even lose your focus for a split moment, my spells will most certainly cut your life short!" Kin smugly exclaimed. He kept on reciting earth spells around the vicinity, and he did so with reckless abandon. After all, Shamuhaza was also an enemy to be slain.
'If I slay both Shamuhaza and that mysterious pink enigma, then that would be two less problems for Vault. However, that pink brat must absolutely perish in this battle!" Kin mentally analyzed the situation before him. Kin had already recited a sort of "air barrier" around his mouth, which provided clean fresh air to him. Thus, Kin was unaffected by the malicious black fog.
Shamuhaza moved quite quickly for someone who was wearing robes. The bandaged mad man effortlessly dodged every incoming earth "spear" aimed towards him. Shamuhaza wasn't all that much affected by his own fog; years of working with harmful plants and other sorts of dangerous commodities had given him a resistance to such substances, and his body showed that (his body is essentially "corrupted" by the dark forces he's worked with).
Doppio wasn't doing so well, or better put, he didn't perform at his usual perfect self. His dodges were sloppy and erratic, and even with Epitaph, Doppio could only foresee faint outlines of the earth "spears".
Chloe, Alicia, and Doppio were beginning to hallucinate again, and it seemed as if the hallucinations were getting more intense…
'S-Shit! What the fuck is going on?! My skin feels itchy-no! Oh god… It's melting, my skin is melting!' Doppio frantically scratched his own skin until red marks were present in it. However, Doppio found the resolve and sanity to power through.
'Lower… I just need to get lower and the hallucinations will subside! G-God damn it… Alicia and Chloe are losing it! I-I have to-shit!' Doppio's thoughts were interrupted by an incoming earth spear. Doppio rolled out of the way, and he did so just in time to dodge the earth spear directed towards him.
'Epitaph can at least show the faint outlines of the attacks… however! I can't just stay on the defensive! Kin needs to be dealt with, fast!' Doppio dodged another spear; however, the spear managed to graze the thigh of Doppio, which caused him to growl in annoyance (and pain).
"Chloe! Alicia! I don't want to sound impatient, but can you expedite the process! Hey now! Don't give in to the fog! Listen to me!" Doppio shouted as quickly as he could muster. He tried to communicate as fast as he could in order to avoid inhaling even more of the fog.
"D-Damn it… my skin hurts! Stop whipping me you filthy animals! Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop!"
"Get away from me you lecherous old roach! Don't you dare touch me! If you d-do I'll… I'll-"
Chloe and Alicia were barely dodging the attacks directed towards them. However, the duo were in a delirious state. And time could only tell how long they could dodge Kin's attacks in such a harrowing state of mind.
"S-Stop w-whipping me… please…" Chloe begged her "abusers" to seize their whipping (not realizing that she was hallucinating).
"N-No! l-leave Prim out of this!" Alicia pleaded to "Beasley" for Prim's wellbeing. "Beasley" (or rather a "shadow" apparition) taunted the blonde knight with a demented smirk on his "face". The apparition of Beasley licked his lips with pure lust as he began to "touch" the breasts of Alicia.
"Don't give in! Are you two going to let yourselves be humiliated like this?!" Doppio feebly shouted (and coughed out) encouragement towards the two blonde warriors.
"How touching… But! Your words might as well be falling in dead ears! Have you forgotten? Those two are in a state of pure fear… the cold hands of despair have already suffocated their hearts with darkness. Thus! The only option left is despair! Wallow in despair my dear friend as you helplessly watch your precious comrades perish!" Shamuhaza made his presence known with his proclamation.
Doppio gritted his teeth in annoyance; apparently, Shamuhaza had been silently sneaking around all this time. Doppio could feel the presence of Shamuhaza not so far from where he was, and that caused him to be even more cautious.
"No Shamuhaza! What you claim to be the end of us, is nothing more but a baseless claim! As long as I can breathe, I will not allow them to fall!" Doppio rebuked Shamuhaza's bold statement.
(Lotta feroce ends at 3:01 and abruptly transitions into incursione 0:31)
"Oh my Kin! It seems that your collaboration was nothing but a ruse. Well, after I deal with him, I'll-WHAT?! Has the fog driven you mad?!" Shamuhaza nearly lost his footing upon hearing the frantic footsteps of Doppio.
Doppio ran…
He ran as fast as he could, without paying any heed to the hallucinations and voices in his mind. Doppio thanked the heavens for the plentiful screams of Chloe and Alicia. The panicked screams provided insight (or a good idea) of the whereabouts of the two blondes.
"You won't reach them! I will not allow such a thing to transpire! Now perish for your foolishness!" Kin exclaimed as he performed another earth "spear" spell.
"Your attacks are not a threat! They are nothing but a mere nuisance to me!" Doppio belittled the mage's attacks. He proceeded to dodge and jump over the unrelenting attacks thrown at him.
'Ah! I can feel them!' Doppio thought to himself in relief. He powered through the tortuous hallucinations and proceeded to help the two blonde warriors. He whispered sweet "oks" and reassuring promises to Alicia and Chloe.
Chloe was snapped out of her petrified state; however, Alicia was whimpering and cowering in fear. The blonde knight was in so much fear, and her tear stained cheeks was a testament to that fact.
"D-Doppio… how long can we keep this up? The voices and pain… the pain is too much! Too much to bear-" Chloe's doubtful speech was interrupted by an unexpected hug. The identity of Chloe's hugger was none other than Doppio.
Chloe's doubtful and despair driven state was pacified by the (awkward) warm hug of Doppio (Doppio can't see well, so his hug isn't the best…). Her mind became clearer and she regained her resolve.
"Chloe, haven't you realized? Alicia is similar to you in some ways. Think about it… You both were betrayed by your parental figures, and you both still have that feeling of pain and betrayal within your heart's. I want you to both carry that pain together… because no matter what you are, be it human or elf, you feel pain! Use your pain! Share your pain! And bolster each other! because rather you like it or not! Alicia and you have a problem that stems from the past!" Doppio proclaimed with nothing but pure confidence in his voice.
Chloe was left speechless from Doppio's observation. Chloe would have kissed Doppio, but such an action was not possible in her current predicament.
'I-I guess he does have a point there, but how? How can Alicia possibly understand my pain? Her human race are nothing but selfish demons! But Doppio… Doppio is different from them… So is Alicia also different?" Chloe was starting to be convinced. Perhaps not all humans wanted to rape and pillage the dark elf race… perhaps not…
Doppio released his hold on Chloe, and he wasted no time to give Alicia the same treatment he gave Chloe moments ago.
"Stop this at once you utter-?!" Alicia gasped in surprise after feeling the warm embrace of someone she knew all too well. The vile apparition of Beasley scowled and faded away from Alicia's sight.
'Doppio? It's his warmth, but he feels… different. His body feels more firm and muscular, and his eye's! His eyes are different! Does anyone know about this strange occurrence? I… he feels warm, really warm. His body just melts away my doubts and fears. And my heart… Why is my heart beating so fast? What is going on with me? I don't know! These feelings… I don't know what they are!' Alicia felt heat emanate from her body. But this bodily reaction was unknown to the blonde princess.
(Incursione abruptly ends at 1:23, and slowly transitions into golden wind ost the sun 0:55)
"Alicia... Beasley is no more. That worthless scum can no longer hurt you, not anymore… I need you to be strong for me. And not only me, but also for Chloe. I want you to show her the potential of the human heart, can you do that for me?" Doppio shakingly whispered into Alicia's ear (oblivious to the fact that his action provoked a shiver from Alicia).
"H-How can I?! No matter how many times I close my eyes, I still see the rotten perverted face of Beasley! He still haunts me! I-"
"You are strong… more than you think. Beasley is dead, because he was a fool. You, however, are still standing; you're standing with the horrid burden of being betrayed, betrayed by someone you have considered a father all your life… and yet you still stand here, with me. Alicia, are you going to let a deadman dictate how you live? What about Prim? You must be strong for her! Chloe and I will help you through this trial! So, with that said… want to earn a victory with us?" Doppio ended (albeit in a "coughy" manner) his motivational speech.
"I… No, you're right! I cannot allow myself to be chained down by that foul old man! I can scream and weep later! But right now… I must fight! I must fight until my very last breath!" Alicia responded to Doppio with renewed resolve. Doppio smiled proudly at the blonde knight's determined response (Alicia couldn't see it though).
(Ost slowly fades away and ends at 1:27)
"That's good to hear-*cough* Heh, I believe that we should wrap this up. My… skin feels irritated and the voices are really getting to me…" Doppio nervously laughed, but in all seriousness, Doppio was really starting to lose his mind. However, Doppio found a way to slow down the side effects; the only problem with it, however, was that his method was quite… reckless and simple.
Doppio ended his embrace with Alicia and whispered for her absolute attention. Doppio also did the same for Chloe, who was nearby.
"This might seem reckless, but I know that this can work if we cover each other's backs. So, here's how we'll go about this…" Doppio whispered his plan towards the two blondes. In all honesty, Chloe and Alicia felt that Doppio's plan was quite risky and luck based. But nothing is discovered unless it is ventured, so the blonde duo reluctantly agreed with his plan.
"Awww~, isn't that wonderful~! Comforting each other before death… how heartwarming! But Vault is a busy man, so I do hope that you can all forgive me for ending your little comfort party early!" Kin mockingly shouted as he resumed his relentless (and reckless attacks).
"Well I have to admit that your little comfort circle was quite cute to witness! However I do agree with Kin. Time is a limited commodity after all! And I have my goal to complete, which I cannot complete with all of you alive… such a shame Kin, your talent would've most certainly come to use for me, but alas! You already decided to waste your magnificent talent in some seedy and low-class dream…" Shamuhaza said with mock regret in his voice.
"I'll have you know that we've already won the battle! No amount of hazy fog will stop us! Alicia! Chloe! Stick together and move about as fast as possible! And shout with all your vigor when you feel endangered! Now… let us commence our counterattack!" Doppio exclaimed as he manifested King Crimson. The scornful crimson stand grabbed a piece from one of Kin's earth spears (a broken one). King Crimson slowly winded up…
"Be it you Kin or Shamuhaza! One of you shall perish!" Doppio screamed out as King Crimson threw the stone piece with all of his might. The stone went flying out of the room and straight outside the temple. Where it landed was unknown…
This action was all according to plan. The rest of Doppio's plan would solely rely on luck…
And endurance…
"I don't think you hit either of us… this fog is quite irritating. I can't use my spells to its full potential, I mean I could… but that would be dangerous in this environment…" Kin casually spoke his mind to everyone in the room. It seemed as if he was still underestimating his foes (Doppio, Chloe, Alicia, and Shamuhaza).
"Well, that was quite unexpected… but let's not dawdle around, shall we? Instead let us partake in the sumptuous excitement of this situation! I truly do enjoy a good battle of wit, I seriously do! Oh sweet, sweet, sweet insanity!" Shamuhaza eagerly declared.
And with Shamuhaza's proclamation, the battle continued on…
But Doppio, Chloe, and Alicia had a different objective…

7:30 pm, front gates of the sacred temple…

"They're almost at their breaking point! Keep pushing them back humans!" Olga barked out orders to the combat-occupied knights.
Olga had arrived not so long ago, and when she arrived, a knight gave her the news that Maia had "assigned" her to lead them. Olga was at first annoyed, but she eventually got over the unexpected task she was given.
The black dogs, and the monsters allied with them, started to lose battleground. Olga played a huge factor of their ground loss (thanks to her destructive and versatile offensive spells).
Olga concentrated her mana into her staff and started to recite a rather weird spell incantation…
"Flames of life, and flames of death… I call upon thee to lend me your strength. Use my vessel, as your metal, to strike down the evil devils! Now become one with me! And let us spread our fire! As you are me and I…" Olga inhaled a large intake of air to prepare her attack. The dark elf's body was now engulfed in flames. But to the amazement of every onlooker, Olga did not burn to death!
Olga abruptly opened her eye's; with a smirk, and her staff at hand, she did a "pose" (Muhammad Abdul pose, the "pointy finger one"). Fire crosses instantaneously shot out from the fire engulfed body of Olga, and with that event, Olga finished her incantation.
"I'm in a crossfire hurricane!" Olga exclaimed, as her fire cross's seeked and destroyed any black dog (or monster) it could find.
Olga's flaming aura died down, which signaled that her spell was over. Olga was about to catch her breath, but her eye's caught the sight of a soaring projectile. The dark elf queen quickly sought for the origin point of the projectile.
'What was that?! Where did it come fro-wait! It came from the temple! Could it be… No, it could be a possibility! And if that possibility is true, then I must hurry to their aid!' Olga gritted her teeth before she shouted to the second in command.
"I must go to the temple! I want you and your knight's to block any possible exit of the temple! And do it posthaste!" Olga quickly shouted her instructions before she dashed towards the temple entrance.
"But I-"
The second in command never got a chance to voice her objections, for Olga was already gone from her sight…
"By the goddess! First Maia, and now her?! Damn it all! Grr… sisters in arms! Cover any possible escape route! Hurry and block any entrance or exit of the temple! The rest of you... help me fight the surviving trash!" The second in command yelled, and ordered her fellow knight's to their respective roles.
The battle for Rad, surprisingly, wasn't as hard as the knights expected.
However, the battle would leave a lasting impact on certain individuals…

7:40 pm, inside the shrine room…
'O-Oh f-fuck… I think I'm losing my mind! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! The boss, I can still hear that bastard's voice! I swear I gotta-no! I have to… I gotta focus on Chloe and Alicia!' Doppio was starting to feel lethargic, he could barely dodge the attacks directed towards them.
"Alicia! Chloe! D-Don't let Kin get away with the p-princess! Victory is almost in our grasp!" Doppio weakly said.
Doppio, Chloe, and Alicia had been running and dodging for quite awhile. The trio decided to move about the room with all their body capacity. To counteract the fog's dangerous side effects, the trio would maintain constant communication in order to reassure and comfort each other during the battle.
The method worked somewhat well during the first few moments of it's usage, but right now? Right now, the method was being pushed to its limits. Doppio, Chloe, and Alicia were on the brink of losing their minds. Resolve was what had allowed the trio to survive for so long, but their resolve could only handle so much…
Just how long? How long could they last until their trump card arrives?
"U-Understood!" Both Chloe and Alicia feebly exclaimed their comprehension.
"How much longer can you last? I can do this all day long! My mana supply isn't even half diminished yet! Killing you all is going to be as easy as breathing!" Kin smugly responded to the verbal exchange between the trio of heroes. Although, Kin wondered about the condition of Shamuhaza; because throughout the recent minutes of the battle, the bandaged madman hadn't made a single snide remark, which suggested two possibilities…
Shamuhaza could have died from an earth spear, or he was just being silent in order to gain the benefits of stealth…
"Shamuhaza… are you still alive~? It's rude to not respond, you know~? Still not responding? Fine... I'll take your silence as a confirmation of your unfortunate demise~" Kin gave out a (fake) dejected sigh.
"One down and three more vermin to go! Or perhaps you're playing dead, Shamuhaza? No matter I think it's time that we end this!" Kin exclaimed as he prepared another spell.
"D-Doppio… where are you?! Please respond! The laughter is returning!" Chloe desperately called out for Doppio, but Doppio's soothing words never came; instead, Chloe heard the frantic rambling of Doppio.
"Do you think that I fear you?! I DO NOT! YOU ARE NOTHING TO ME! NOTHING, YOU HEAR ME?! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP! GOD-" Doppio abruptly ended his fog-induced rant by hitting his forehead with his palms.
'I'm not scared of him! I'm not! Damn it… it's just an illusion! Why am I running from a freaking illusion?! I can't be… NO! I'm not inferior to him! I can do this! I don't need his encouragement! I don't need to rely on him anymore!' Doppio thought to himself as he (barely) regained his cold and calculating demeanor.
"Chloe! End that bastard, quickly! And Alicia… please provide assistance!" Doppio yelled out orders to the mixed-race duo.
Alicia and Chloe were at their wits end, did their plan fail? What could they do? Just how would they overcome this trial?
Alicia felt the ground at where Chloe stood tremble, and she knew what that signified.
"Chloe watch out!" Alicia frantically pushed Chloe out of harm's way, but she herself was not so lucky.
Shink!*
"Ughh?" Alicia moaned out in pain after she felt a hard and sharp object pierce her shin. Alicia quickly used her hand to feel around the injured area; she quickly felt the sensation of a small "rocky" object lodged into her injured shin, which upon touching it, she wasted no time to pull out the foreign object from her shin.
Alicia yanked the hard object out, which elicited a cry of pain from the blonde princess. Alicia could already tell that she was bleeding, and she knew, deep down, that the injury she sustained was significant enough to hinder her ability to partake in combat.
"Alicia, what the actual hell were you thinking?! You only needed to warn me of the incoming attack! How bad is your injury? Damn why would-"
"I owe you, remember? Consider this as me paying back my due debts…" Alicia weakly quipped before she gave out a hiss of pain.
Chloe didn't know what to say, but her facial expression did express what she wanted to say. Chloe didn't know why she smirked, or to be more concise, she didn't know why she felt respect towards Alicia.
"Hmph, thanks I suppose. No, I really am grateful for what you did… I guess you're not that bad, for a human that is…" Chloe smugly commented.
Alicia was shocked at the dark elf's tone. Chloe's remark wasn't condescending, it was more akin to a friend's playful banter. The blonde knight couldn't help but feel a bizarre connection begin to form between her and Chloe.
This sentimental moment didn't last long due to a certain cocky mage.
"I won't give you the time to catch your breath! You imbeciles were so caught up with your little sentimental moment that you forgot about that pink cur! Listen carefully and hear him! Hear him cower in fear!" Kin snapped the attention of the two blondes with his conceited declaration.
Alicia and Chloe listened carefully, and to their horror, Doppio was ranting and throwing around profanities like a possessed mad man. Doppio also used his stand to recklessly punch the air around him, completely unaware that his "target" was nothing more than an illusion.
"I'LL KILL YOU! DAMN IT JUST DIE! YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" Doppio roared out with pure fury. He vainly threw hooks and crosses (as in boxing) to the pitch dark apparition of his "boss".
"Doppio calm down! It's not-"
"Now, time to end that pink pest! He's all caught up with fighting thin air! And you two can't stop me! Chloe, that's your name I presume? You said that your hearing would aid in my death, but your hearing won't do you any good if your mind keeps on deceiving you! So, say goodbye! Feel happy that you'll all die together!" Kin confidently declared his victory as he prepared another relentless onslaught of offensive attacks.
But Kin quickly shouted in shock after he saw the unthinkable happen.
"W-What the hell?! The fog! It's… It's! It's-" Kin couldn't finish the rest of his sentence because a certain dark elf read his mind and finished his sentence for him…
Chloe and Alicia turned their attention towards the shrine room entrance, and to their relief, Olga was standing there with a confident smirk.
"Gone? You can thank me for that… I never trained myself in the dark arts, but I can easily recognize the deadly nightshade's pitch black fog. Olga smirked as she motioned for Kin to look at her staff, and to his annoyance, Olga's staff was indeed emanating heat for the whole room.
"I'm so sorry my dear Chloe, please forgive my late arrival… now, would you be a dear and finish this Chloe~?" Olga ordered Chloe to finish the job, to which Chloe happily complied to Olga's request.

"I-I won't let that happen! Prepare to meet your maker! Di-" Kin hastily raised his staff in panic to unleash another magic attack, but he was seconds late and his demise was sealed…
"Take this you lowly mage! I hope you enjoy the feeling of iron in your flesh!" Chloe shouted, and with quick reflexes, she threw one of her dagger's towards Kin. The dagger made contact with the staff-occupied hand of Kin, which caused Kin to quickly drop his staff.
Chloe didn't give Kin a chance to scream in pain, she quickly sprinted towards the distracted mage and stabbed his stomach twice.
"C-Curses…" Kin muttered out before he promptly fell limp to the floor.
(Ost fades and ends at 1:38)
Chloe didn't bother to check the heart rate of Kin because her mind quickly remembered the horrid condition of Doppio. She quickly ran towards Doppio to check his mental state.
Olga and Alicia mimicked the actions of Chloe as well. The dark elf queen and the blonde princess ran up to Doppio to check on his state of mind.
"Can you walk? I'm sorry that I arrived late… you have a cut in your thigh, please allow me to heal-"
"N-Not *cough* yet O-Olga… o-one of t-them is missing… Shamuhaza is missing!" Doppio mustered the strength to stand on his feet, he wouldn't let a mere tiny cut on his thigh keep him down (he went through WAY worse after all).
"You're right! Oh no... Kaguya!" Alicia frantically looked around for Kaguya, and thankfully, the eccentric princess was still on the floor in an unconscious state (although she was showing signs of getting up).
"I'll check on her! Let me just-argh?!" Alicia quickly grunted in pain, the injury in her shin had opened up. Droplets of blood slowly plopped down to the damaged ground…
The shrine room was a chaotic mess and it was obvious that the repair costs would be quite expensive.
Chloe promptly offered support to Alicia, who gratefully accepted the gracious offer and started to lean on the shoulder of Chloe for support.
"And Shamuhaza? What happened to him?" Doppio reiterated his concerns over the status of Shamuhaza.
Chloe scoped the room for the body of Shamuhaza, and she quickly found the unmoving robed body of Shamuhaza. Chloe slowly approached the body with a dagger in her left hand (the other hand was occupied in providing support for Alicia).
Doppio on the other hand, walked towards the unconscious form of Kaguya. He quickly noticed that the corpse of the black dog he killed earlier, was lying right next to Kaguya.
'Wait… didn't I chop that bastard's head off?' Doppio thought to himself. Doppio blinked a bit at the dead body before shrugging his shoulders and diverting his attention back to Kaguya.
Doppio approached the body of Kaguya and extended his arm's with the intent of picking her up. However, without warning, Kaguya abruptly woke up from her slumber and scrambled to her feet with a confused expression on her face.
"Please don't panic! I'm friendly, I swear!" Doppio quickly sought to ease the confusion of the priestess.
"Where's Shamuhaza?! I must apologize-"
"Doppio! This isn't the body of Shamuhaza! The skin tone of the corpse isn't his! Furthermore, I don't think that Kin's earth spears can decapitate heads!" Chloe frantically announced the shocking revelation to everyone in the room.

Doppio's eyes widened in urgency as he realized the whereabouts of Shamuhaza. Without any warning, the "dead" black dog body nearby Kaguya shot up and charged towards her with a knife at hand. Seeing this, Doppio quickly pushed Kaguya out of harm's way and prepared himself.
"Don't just stand there Doppio, run!" Alicia shouted out in worry. She vainly attempted to run to Doppio's aid, but she failed miserably and fell to her knees from the immense pain she felt. Blood began to drip down the wound of Alicia, which temporarily drew the attention of everyone present in the room (minus Shamuhaza and Doppio).
"I knew that you would push her out of harm's way! I planned that all along when I took up the guise of this corpse! This knife is laced with a substance that induces pure aggression! You have fallen into my trap! How sad is it that you'll be the one responsible for your comrades' deaths!" Shamuhaza exclaimed with unhinged excitement in his voice. His knife was mere millimeters away from Doppio's stomach…
But in the end, Shamuhaza's efforts were all for nothing…

"King Crimson…" Doppio menacingly muttered to himself…
The surroundings around Doppio shattered and every single movement that would occur in the next ten seconds would be laid utterly bare to Doppio…
Doppio stepped out of Shamuhaza's path and slowly observed the bandaged man's actions.
(Play golden wind ost un'altra persona and slowly read this section to enhance the experience)
"It's peered through time to trace your trajectory... the trajectory of your future self!" Doppio spoke through the mouth of King Crimson. He carefully observed the movement's of Shamuhaza. The bandaged man started to viciously stab the air multiple times.
'He's stabbing thin air without even knowing it…' Doppio thought to himself before he continued on with his "explanation".
"When King Crimson wields its extraordinary power, time as we know it flits away and all memories formed therein cease to exist! Clouds are torn asunder! And know not why… The flickering flame is blotted away without any consciousness of its demise…" King Crimson "explained" as it tilted its head to observe the next sequence of actions…
Shamuhaza was now frantically looking around in confusion (without even knowing it)...
"All that remains are consequences! The omnipotence of King Crimson's time obliterating powers renders all actions futile!" King Crimson "exclaimed" as he and his user positioned themselves right behind Shamuhaza…
"Only I have the ability to respond to these actions! I can foretell the exact flavor of your intentions…" King Crimson "explained" as he slowly lifted up his right arm and formed a "chopping hand" with his hand.
The surroundings around Doppio started to slowly turn back to normal…
"Now… feel the almighty wrath of King Crimson!" Doppio finished his grand speech and the flow of time returned back to normal…
"Where did he-Arghhh?!" Shamuhaza cried out in pain as felt a stinging sensation cut down through his right shoulder blade…
(Ost fades into background, the ost should also be at 0:54)
Olga was shocked (and scared) to see the hand of King Crimson go right through the flesh of Shamuhaza. The hand of King Crimson was like an axe, and Shamuhaza's shoulder blade was the frail piece of wood that would be cutted down by said axe...
But it wasn't the bloody sight of Shamuhaza that had shocked Olga and the rest of the inhabitants…
The phenomenon that struck fear into everyone's heart's was the amount of blood droplets that had oozed out from Alicia's wound…
Three droplets of blood were (initially) on the floor...
But now? Now there were seven droplets of blood! It made no sense! How was such a thing possible?! It wasn't normal!
But this eerie phenomenon finally cracked the mystery of King Crimson's powers…
'This is inconceivable! Such a power should be banished! No one in Eostia possesses such a terrifying power! That type of power is only achievable through ancient spells! But any spell that can do such a thing is long gone and buried in the past… Doppio, just what are you?' Olga couldn't believe it, the power that Doppio wielded was unrivaled. No one in Eostia could possibly stand a chance against him, not even a sliver!
The secret of King Crimson's power was time! King Crimson had the ability to skip time!
Well, everyone's conclusion was somewhat accurate…
Everyone present quickly snapped out of their stupor as soon as they heard the body of Shamuhaza fall down to the ground. Shamuhaza, miraculously, was still alive despite his fatal injuries. Shamuhaza coughed up blood and feebly attempted to reach for his pockets, but as expected, his injured state did not allow him to do that action.
"S-Shamuhaza!" Kaguya shouted out in pure distress as she quickly ran to her former follower. Kaguya quickly placed the head of Shamuhaza on top of her lap as she pleaded to the heavens to be merciful towards her old acquaintance.
Once again, everyone looked on with pure disbelief; were they still under the effect of the fog?! Kaguya was weeping over an enemy! Why would she feel sorrow for a person that tried to kill her mere moments ago? Everyone was trying to grasp the thought process that was going on inside Kaguya's mind…
(Un'altra persona abruptly ends at 1:39 and transitions into golden wind ost peace 0:28)
"S-So… even now you continue to mock me? S-Showing p-pity to me as I die? D-Do you *cough!* really think so little of me that y-you would have the audacity to s-shower me with your putrid sentiments?!" Shamuhaza spat out his hatred towards Kaguya with a strained voice. Shamuhaza's eyes were filled with nothing but pure rage and sorrow.
"I-I… I'm sorry! I'm so sorry for what I have done! I was a coward back then… I-I"
"I-I don't want your pity! Don't you dare show mercy to me right now! You look down on me! Even as I die you still are repulsed by me! I can see it in your eyes! You think that I'm 'impure' for questioning the putrid principles that hold us back! I-" Shamuhaza didn't have the chance to finish his sentence, a desperate embrace stifled whatever he was about to say.
"I-I was wrong! Very much wrong! I was wrong when I chose to abandon you! Why did you throw away your humanity?! What makes your methods right? Don't you see how wrong you are-" Kaguya was abruptly interrupted by the furious voice of Shamuhaza, nothing but pure outrage and sadness was present in his yellow eye's.
"Wrong? H-How hypocritical of you! I don't let some fabricated illusion of morals hold me back from gaining knowledge and self-betterment! My methods gain results! And that's all that matters, right?! You have no right to say that my methods are evil! How about your temple code? Indoctrinating people into your feeble minded group?! silencing the voices of curiosity?! And how about demanding nothing but pure obedience and blind faith?! From my perspective, you are just as 'corrupted' as me! The only difference is that you excuse your potential decaying brainwashing with the pretense that you're showing them how to be pure!" Shamuhaza angrily spat out to Kaguya, who could only tremble and respond back with sorrowful silence.
"Human's always dub anything that is unknown to them as evil! But they themselves are evil for being arrogant! Humans use morality as an excuse to not traverse to the dark abyss of the unknown! And tell me this... wouldn't humans be considered 'evil' for using morals as an excuse to not better understand the unknown? The creatures that you call abominations Kaguya, are fueled and made by the darkness within the human heart! So that just shows that humans are bigger monsters than those 'abominations', right?!" Shamuhaza exclaimed his rhetorical question for everyone to hear…
But no one responded. Everyone was dead silent at the words of Shamuhaza…
"How can you call my creations primitive and uncivilized?! They are only living on human instinct! How can you call my creations primitive when humans themselves were created to have these sorts of desires?! That's why I sought to create the anti-god! I wished to slay every so-called 'righteous' god! They have the gall to call themselves holy?! How can they be holy when they demand righteousness from flawed beings?! Beings that they created themselves! Insanity I say! Pure insanity-"

"I see now… I think I get it, I get how you think…"
Shamuhaza and everyone else's attention snapped to the direction of Doppio. He had a gentle look in his eye that was full of understanding.
"You craved for someone to accept you… you craved for someone to understand your morals... don't try to deny it. You do have morals and they're somewhat true, but I know why you wanted to create a land of eldritch beasts… you didn't want to feel alone…" Doppio softly whispered to Shamuhaza.
Doppio crouched down to see the look in Shamuhaza's eyes, and as he expected, the mad man's eyes were starting to water up…
"Y-You k-know whats *cough!* funny? When I first met one of those eldritch creatures, I didn't feel afraid. For some reason, I felt attracted to it. I felt some sort of odd kinship with it and it did too. The creature didn't attack me, oh it did not. The creature slowly and tenderly grabbed my hand with its slimy tendrils, like a caring mother…" Shamuhaza's voice quivered as he spoke. The rage and unease in his voice was now replaced with nostalgic melancholy…
Everyone present looked on with dead silence…
All except for Kaguya. The distraught priestess cried and begged for Shamuhaza; she begged for someone to heal Shamuhaza, but Shamuhaza refused to receive any sort of assistance.
Shamuhaza wanted to die peacefully, and his vision was beginning to blur, a clear sign that he was on death's door…
"So, this is how it ends? To die in the embrace of my enemy… it's strangely endearing, in a way. I wanted to make an impact in Eostia, but it looks like I'll be buried in its corrupted soil, the soil in which many have been forgotten. I'll join them too. Seems that my fate is to fade away into the past, just like many others before me…" Shamuhaza softly said as he turned his gaze towards Doppio.
(Ost should be at 1:34)
"There's something off about you… I can't quite point my finger at it, but I can say that your future will be a interesting one. Be it heaven or hell that awaits me, I'll be watching. I can't wait to see how this land changes you… it was a pleasure to *cough!* meet you…" Shamuhaza feebly smiled at Doppio before he coughed out his final words…
"T-This sensation… it can't be *cough!* haha… s-stupid h-human sentiments…" Shamuhaza weakly chuckled, he couldn't believe what was happening. He felt a wet sensation trickle down from his eye to his cheek. Shamuhaza closed his eyes and felt peace, a feeling that he hadn't experienced for a very long while.
Shamuhaza drew his final breath and went into a deep slumber…
An eternal slumber where he would forever feel at peace…
A visible tear on Shamuhaza's cheek was a tiny sign of humanity, Shamuhaza's humanity…
(Ost fades into background and at the 2:00 minute mark)
"No, no, no, no, no, no please! S-Shamuhaza d-don't!" Kaguya pleaded and begged, but Shamuhaza did not respond…
His soul had already departed into the afterlife…
Kaguya wailed in anguish as she hugged the corpse of Shamuhaza close to her bosom, and she hugged the limp body with all her strength, not caring about the onlookers.
Everyone could only feel sympathy for the (usually) stoic priestess, especially Alicia. Alicia never thought that she would see the day, the day in which she would see Kaguya cry.
Chloe and Olga merely shifted around in their place. The two dark elves felt nothing but pure sympathy for Kaguya.
But out of everyone present, Doppio was the one who was affected the most. He felt the unpleasant hands of guilt and sadness claw at his heart…
'This land broke him… it corrupted his heart. Maybe he saw the evil of this land and wanted to fix it, well in a twisted way. In all honesty… I'm a bit scared, will the same happen to me? What if I fail?! I'll be forgotten and become a thing of the past like Shamuhaza! No, I can't lose my cool this early on! I have to keep going for everyone's sake! I don't have the time to worry about myself! Gotta focus on the safety of everyone else!' Doppio mentally encouraged himself and shaked off the sorrow in his heart.
Doppio decided to let Kaguya grieve; after all, it would be awkward if he, Shamuhaza's killer, walked up to her and offered comfort like if nothing had happened.
So Doppio decided to pay his respects to the deceased mad man, but he would obviously do it in a discreet manner.
"I hope that the heavens have mercy on your poor confused soul… I may not have known you that much, but I can tell that you had some standards. You could have killed Kaguya while she embraced you, but you didn't. For that, you have my utmost respect. I solemnly promise to entertain you! So watch me from above!" Doppio muttered his respects to Shamuhaza.
(Ost fades away and ends at 2:21)
After paying his respects, Doppio gazed around the room without a care in the world…
That is until he noticed the missing corpse of a certain mage…
(Play golden wind ost mysterious 1:36)
"K-Kin?! Where is his body?! Chloe! Didn't you kill him?!" Doppio quickly alerted everyone about the missing "corpse" of Kin.
Chloe quickly responded to Doppio's shocking revelations.
"Curses! I didn't check his heart when I stabbed him! He must have slipped away after you killed Shamuhaza! We need to hurry!" Chloe exclaimed.
"We must hurry and intercept him! Let us go my Doppio-"
"No Olga, I want you to heal up Alicia's wound to the best of your ability! Once that's done, you may follow my steps and provide backup, understood?" Doppio asked and waited for Olga's response. To his pleasure, Olga instantly nodded her head in agreement.
Kaguya didn't really care all that much about Doppio's announcement, she was too distraught over the death of Shamuhaza to even care about it.
"Good, I'll be going then…" Doppio said as he tracked the blood trail of Kin with his eyes.
(Ost ends at 1:54)

"Wha-" Alicia frantically looked around for Doppio, but he was nowhere to be found. She let out a sigh of annoyance, she would never get used to that! Doppio disappearing out of nowhere was always an unnerving sight to behold.
"What is with him? I can only hope that he comes out alive and unharmed…" Alicia whispered to herself, but she forgot that she was being bolstered by a dark elf, a race that is famous for their pristine hearing.
"Oh? Is that worry I hear? I didn't know that you had such strong feelings for him~" Chloe playfully teased the blonde princess. The playful remark of Chloe did wonders to the face of Alicia.
"W-What s-sort of slander are you spouting?! I-I only care for his safety! Nothing more and nothing less!" Alicia stuttered out in embarrassment. The poor princess's face was beet red from pure embarrassment.
"Whatever you say… It was a mere jest, so no need to get all flustered. Well, let's have my mistress heal you up so that she can assist Doppio…" Chloe said with a mischievous tone in her voice.
Alicia regained her composure and gave a friendly smile towards Chloe. She then turned her attention to the approaching dark queen (Olga).
"I'm fairly experienced in healing spells, but I'm not a master at it. Celestine is a better healer than I, she could even restore decapitated limbs if she's quick enough to do so. But enough chatting, let me seal up that nasty wound of yours dear princess…" Olga started to recite a healing spell with a stoic expression on her face.
Alicia gritted her teeth to distract herself from the pain she was feeling. The spell was forcibly regenerating flesh tissue, so the healing process wasn't the most pleasant feeling in the world…
'Doppio helped me, he gave me strength to overcome Beasley. I don't know why my heart beats faster when I think of him… it feels weird, but it isn't a bad feeling…' Alicia thought to herself. Her cheeks were tinted with a red hue, which suggested that she was flustered from something…
Alicia shook her head to clear her mind from all the rampant emotions she was feeling…
7:55 pm, on the path towards the back exit of the temple…
'Such a terrifying ability cannot exist! But that brat possesses that ability… this is utter madness! I must tell Vault about my findings! I must reveal the horrifying secret of that brat's power to him!' Kin frantically thought to himself as he limped towards the center of the path.
He clutched his stomach in pure pain, sure he (decently) healed his wounds, however, he still felt jarring sensations of pain in his gut.
Kin quickly spotted his leader (Vault) in the distance. He wasted no time to call the attention of his ambitious boss.
"V-Vault! *cough* over here!" Kin shouted with the intention of alerting his boss of his presence and the tactic worked.
"Holy shit Kin! Where's Kaguya?! And what about Shamuhaza?!" Vault asked his trusted mage about how the fight went down, and he asked Kin with pure worry in his voice.
"S-Shamuhaza w-was *cough* a filthy traitor all along! That mad man had ulterior motives after all! And the princess? Capturing her with that brat present would be suicide! By the way… where's the guards? Weren't we supposed to have escorts?" Kin curiously asked while he limped closer to Vault's position.
"What do you think? They're fucking dead! Olga was wiping out my boys left and right! That bitch isn't past her prime… Please tell me that you got something good to report! Anything?!" Vault asked with the hopes of getting some good news.
Kin stood in his place to catch a quick break, the stomach pain really was hindering his movement.
"V-Vault! I've discovered a horrifying truth! The truth of that brat's power!" Kin shakingly shouted out. He felt an ominous presence, but he decided to ignore it.
Kin recited a transportation spell at that spot where Vault stood. He couldn't explain, but he felt that it was a safe precaution to do.
"The secret of that brat's power is that he can skip ti-"

"A-Urrghha?"
Kin felt a searing pain pierce through his stomach. He slowly turned his gaze downwards to see the cause of the new (painful) sensation he felt…
And just as he feared, he saw a familiar green-studded white fist stick out from his bloody stomach.
"Wha-" Kin couldn't finish his expressed confusion…
Because a menacing voice whispered deep into his ear…
"How charming that you thought that you could escape my grasp, truly it is. However, a thought is just that… a mere thought. It's a shame that I have to kill such a talented mage, but I cannot allow ANY ENEMY to live with the knowledge of my secret…"
Kin slowly turned his head to see the identity of the voice behind him, and to his shock, the voice belonged to the crimson spirit of the pink brat (King Crimson).
"Oh this? I'm just talking through my stand, but let me reveal myself…" King Crimson "answered".
And on cue, a shadowy figure stepped out from the cover of a nearby tree. The figure was completely concealed by the shadows, the only visible feature was his cold green eyes…
"K-Kin! You fucking bastard! I'll kill you!" Vault's shock quickly shifted into unadulterated rage. The leader of the black dogs unsheathed his sword and got into a battle stance, but his stance was crooked, it was crooked from the constant trembling of his body.
(Pause ost at 1:57 and resume playing it when instructed to do so)
"V-Vault s-stay where you are! *cough!* don't f-fight him! You'll d-die…" Kin weakly warned his leader, who merely stood in place from the utter shock he felt.
"Your precious assistant is correct. Facing me would be utterly foolish… hmm? What was his name again? Ah! I believe his name was Hicks… he learned the hard way…" Doppio "recalled" one of his victims from his (regretful) Geofu massacre.
Vault grinded his teeth in pure rage after hearing that. It seemed that Hicks was dead after all and that fact made Vault feel a searing hot rage in his heart. Vault turned his attention towards the magic circle beneath him and narrowed his eyes.
'Almost complete…' Vault thought to himself.
"If you think that you can get away from me, then you are truly delusional! I won't let that happen!" Doppio exclaimed. He was going to order King Crimson to skip time, but after seeing the magic circle under Vault grow in size, he panicked.
'Damn it! Even if I erase time, I won't be able to reach him in time! And there's no pebble to use in sight! Wait… is that Maia?!' Doppio spotted a familiar redhead hiding behind a tree. Maia had a knife at hand and her hand was ready to throw it.
However, Maia had a strained expression on her face, almost as if she was hesitating to the deed.
Doppio saw the magic circle engulf Vault, which meant that Maia only had one shot to kill him and that one shot needed to be done quickly!
"DO IT MAIA!" Doppio screamed from the top of his lungs.
Maia threw the knife that she was holding with all the might she could muster. The knife's target was the side of Vault's head…

Everyone's eyes widened in shock upon hearing the sound of the knife making impact with something…

Unfortunately for Doppio and Maia, the knife completely missed its target. The knife wasn't even close to hitting Vault, not one bit.
The knife was lodged into a tree that was many feet away from its intended target (Vault).
The magic circle under Vault glowed and engulfed him.
But Doppio wouldn't let Vault go without a warning…
(Resume ost)
"Vault! You may have escaped this time, but remember this! The next time we meet, I'll most certainly kill you in the most humiliating fashion! And to clarify, this is not a baseless threat… it's a warning! I shall not rest until I end you and your pathetic men! I will slaughter you all and bury every single one of you! I shall be your gravedigger! I will be your epitaph bearer! So sleep in fear and remember this every night… remember that your days are numbered!" Doppio rapidly shouted out his vow to Vault with all the vigor his lung's could handle.
Vault gave one final death glare towards Doppio before disappearing…
(Ost slowly fades away and ends at 2:20)
King Crimson gritted its teeth with pure rage and this action made perfect sense. Doppio felt frustration in his heart, so King Crimson would showcase that frustration.
"How commendable… you wasted your mana to save the life of your despicable comrade, that's pretty good. Well, it's good for you but not for me…" King Crimson "whispered" into the ear of Kin.
Kin didn't respond…
"I cannot fathom why you would waste your talent on a band of low-lifes… so much potential… gone to waste. But you do have my respect for being a talented mage and I do mean that. So, still going to remain silent?" King Crimson asked the motionless body of Kin.
Once again, Kin did not answer…
"Oh wait… you're dead, that's a shame. I actually wanted to know why you would waste your talent on Vault and his pitiful ambitions… oh well…" King Crimson sighed in "disappointment" before it pulled out its fist from the stomach of Kin, who was now deceased.
The body of Kin landed to the ground with a "thud".
Doppio called back his stand and started to walk towards the location of Maia. However, it seemed that he did not have to walk that far because Maia slowly stepped out of her hiding spot.
Maia slowly stepped towards the spot in which Vault had previously stood. Her body trembled with pure frustration as she slowly fell to her knees.
"G-God damn i-it… how t-the hell did I miss?! Why can't I let him go?! Why?! How the fuck d-did I miss!" Maia shouted with pure trembling fury in her voice. The redheaded princess started to cry in frustration, she cried out tears of pain and anger…
"I don't know what history you share with him… but I can understand your frustration. What happened today was a slight misstep…" Doppio said while he placed his hand on the shoulder of Maia. The redheaded princess instantly snapped at Doppio upon hearing his attempt of "comfort".

Celestine woke up in an abrupt manner. The high elf's face was sweating and filled with concern. Celestine touched her chest to feel her beating heart, and as expected, it was beating rapidly.
'This has never happened to me before… I had two visions! Even more strange is that these visions showed two possible outcomes… two of them! Such a thing has never happened before…' Celestine thought to herself as she took deep breaths to quell the anxiety she felt.
The first vision showed two possible landscapes for Eostia. The first one looked like a utopia, a utopia of everlasting peace and unity. The second one, however, was a hellscape filled with debauchery and sadness, nothing but pure pain was delivered to everyone by a crimson king…
The other vision…
Celestine gripped the bedsheets of her bed in pure fear. The other vision showed two possibilities; the first one being that she would be violated to the brink of insanity, she would become a lifeless husk of nothingness…
The second possibility, however, was the complete opposite of the first one…
Celestine blushed upon recalling her passionate vision. The second possibility showed her being embraced by an unknown man. The man's voice comforted her as he used his smooth hands to caress her body…

I'm also glad that you caught the reason why I chose twenty first schizoid man for the ending song, and that song will be the ending song for a bit (until a certain chapter).
