Fairy Tale has been a pretty successful band and that success will come with some bad qualities. They're going to see that as they work on this new song.

"Guys, hold on!" Levy called as they stopped working on their new song. "The new song, Strike Back, sounds great and everything, but I just got a text. We have an appointment to appear at a photoshoot going on. It's for promotion of the charity event we're doing to send some money to the children's hospital."

"Oh yeah. The event that we're doing before our tour." Natsu said.

"Well, I got some news for you." Levy said. "I thought this was just going to be our gig. Turns out, it's not. It looks like we'll be doing this charity event with another upcoming band."

"What band?" Erza asked.

"They're called Big Star. I think the lead singer is this guy named Will Blade." Levy said.

"Will Blade?" Lucy said. "I've heard of him. He's from the rough streets of New York, he was in poverty, but he worked his way to the top and became a music sensation. I think it's inspiring."

"Anyway, they're going to be there too. So let's make it look good. It will be a great buzz for our tour." Levy said as he went back to her own work.

"I can't believe we're actually going to meet Will Blade." Lucy said as she seemed excited.

"You seem like you really like this guy." Natsu said as he didn't like that fact.

"I think she might. I've seen posters of him on her bedroom wall." Erza said. "I mean just take a look at this guy." She pulled out her phone and showed a picture of Will. He looked like a rocker with jeans and a leather jacket and his hair looked wild with streaks of red in it.

"Well, I just think his story is sad, but inspiring at the same time." Lucy said. "I think it's great how he managed to turn his whole life around." Natus didn't really like how Lucy was talking about this guy. Little did they know things would only get worse from here.

...

Natsu's Apartment

Natsu went home and got on a laptop. He did a little research on Will Blade and this guy seems pretty popular. He's like one of those guys that seem bad, but he's actually good.

"I don't believe this." Natsu said.

"Something wrong, Natsu?" Mr. Dragneel asked as he came over.

"We're suppose to be working on a charity event with this band called Big Star." Natsu said. "I think Lucy might be interested in the lead singer: Will Blade."

"I've heard of him. You think Lucy might be into him?" Mr. Dragneel said.

"Yeah. How am I suppose to compete with him?" Natsu said.

"Simple. You know Lucy and he doesn't. You know what she likes and you already have a great connection." Mr. Dragneel said. Mr. Dragneel looked around and spotted some of Natsu's music sheets. "Is that a new song you've been working on?"

"Uh... Yeah." Natsu said. Mr. Dragneel took a look at it and could see it was about a girl.

"The Star In My Sky. Interesting... Isn't Lucy interested in astrology?" Mr. Drageel said, but Natsu was too embarrassed to really say anything. "Look, I really think you have nothing to worry about." Natsu hopes so.

...

The Photoshoot

Fairy Tale made it to the photoshoot and they were getting themselves ready for the cameras. Natsu ducked inside the bathroom. He was a little anxious because he think Lucy might actually like this Will and meeting him could be a problem for him.

"Okay. Calm down, Natsu. Nothing is going on between her and Will." Natsu said as he looked at himself in the mirror. Natsu went in one of the stalls. By chance when he did, Will Blade stepped in and pulled out his phone.

"Hey, man." Will said to his phone. Natsu heard him and looked through the stall to see him there. "I wish I could have been there, but I'm stuck doing this photoshoot for some stupid hospital. It's totally bogus. What's worse is that I thought this was a solo thing, but that pathetic band is here. The one with that wimpy name: Fairy Tale. Yeah, the one with that lame guitarist. Natsu, I think his name is. Dude, I know. His songs sound wimpy and pathetic like his band. Still, there's a bright side. That blonde keyboard player is hot. Her name's Lucy, I think. I think she's the dude's girlfriend. I think I might have some fun with her just to mess with this guy. How am I going to play it? Easy. She's probably like the rest of these suckers. She'll believe anything I say if I sound sincere enough." Natsu couldn't believe all the stuff he was hearing. The guy sounds like a real jerk and he's fooling everyone into thinking he's some sort of bad boy with a good heart. Will kept talking on the phone, but when he looked at the stalls. He spotted Natsu's feet. "I gotta go." He ended the call and got out of there.

"Unbelievable." Natsu said. Natsu has caught Will Blade, but what is he going to do about it. At the photoshoot, everyone was ready and Will put up the act.

"There's nowhere else we would rather be." Will said as he spoke for his band. "Those poor children need help and we're more than happy to do it. They are the future and it's not fair that sweet little kids like them are stuck in a hospital." Lucy heard every word he was saying and it really touched her heart. Natsu came in and he did not seem happy with Will.

"Natsu, there he is." Lucy said. "Will was saying such the sweetest things."

"I bet." Natsu said with attitude.

"What's that suppose to mean?" Lucy questioned.

"I overheard him in the bathroom. The guy is a total fake. He doesn't even want to be here." Natsu said. "He doesn't really care about even being here."

"What? No, you must have heard wrong or something." Lucy said. That was when Will came over.

"Hi. I thought I introduce myself." Will said. "You're Natsu, right? I've heard your songs and I think they're great."

"Sure you do." Natsu said. Now that he knows the truth, he isn't buying anything Will's selling. Meanwhile, Erza and the others were talking to the rest of Big Star.

"So you guys are from Fairy Tale, right?" The drummer asked.

"Yeah." Erza said.

"Cool. How does it feel being in a band when you're in middle school?" The drummer asked.

"Middle school? We're in high school." Gray said.

"Sorry about him. He's not the brightest drummer." The guitarist said.

"Sorry. Although, I do got to ask about him." The drummer said as he pointed to Gajeel. "Aren't band members suppose to be attractive?"

"What?!" Gajeel said as he was about to clobber him, but Erza and Gray held him back. This was suppose to be a friendly meeting, but it looks like that ship is sailing.

"How about we talk for a moment." Will said as he pulled Natsu off to the side. He looked down and saw Natsu's feet. "So you were the one spying on me in the bathroom."

"I wasn't spying, but I did overheard everything you said on the phone." Natsu said.

"In that case, you better keep your mouth shut if you know what's good for you." Will said. "Then again, go ahead. People are just going to take my word over yours."

"I'm not scared of you." Natsu said as he brushed Will's arm off.

"We'll see." Will said as he walked over to Lucy. "You're name is Lucy, right?"

"Yeah." Lucy said.

"I just want to say it's great to meet you. You must be the one that gets the band's attention with a beautiful face like yours." Will said with Lucy blushing. Will put his arm around her and Natsu couldn't believe this. "Can we get a few pictures over here?" Photographers gathered around the two and took some photos. "Would you also like to join me after the this? Maybe we could get some coffee or something to eat."

"I would love to." Lucy said. Natsu really can't believe this is happening.

...

Natsu's Apartment

"I'm telling you guys, he's a fraud." Natsu said. After the photoshoot the others went back to his apartment while Lucy was off with Will. Natsu was trying to tell them what he heard, but they weren't convinced.

"I'm not sure, Natsu." Gray said. "You're probably just jealous that Lucy seems to like him."

"Natsu, you can't just accuse someone of being a fraud without proof." Levy said.

"But I heard him. Will Blade is not what he seems." Natsu said.

"Are you guys talking about Will Blade?" Zeref asked as he came over.

"Yeah. Natsu claims he's a fake." Erza said.

"Natsu's right. He is." Zeref said. All of them were shock to hear him say that.

"How do you know?" Gajeel asked.

"Do you know him?" Levy asked.

"Yeah. I actually went to school with him." Zeref said. That was shocking to them too.

"Bro, tell us everything you can about Will." Natsu said.

"Well, for one thing, Will Blade isn't even his real name. It's Wilbert Fibbleton." Zeref said and all of them started laughing.

"Wilbert Fibbleton?! I can see why he changed it." Gray said.

"He also wasn't born poor in the rough streets of New York. He was born in a middle class family in Cleveland." Zeref said. "Also, he's scared of balloons."

"Balloons?!" Natsu said as they all couldn't hold back their laughter. "Why would he be scared of something like that?"

"Let's just say that it was a birthday party gone wrong." Zeref said.

"Well, I still say it doesn't matter." Levy said. "He's just some guy that's jealous of our band and he's just trying to get some attention. I think it's best to just ignore him."

"But Lucy is still buying it." Natsu said. "We can't let her go with a fraud like him. Besides, he's just playing her because he thinks it will bother me. She doesn't deserve that."

"True, but we should really focus on helping the children's hospital." Levy said. "We'll let Lucy know when we get the chance, but don't let this guy get to you so much."

"Besides, you got a sure way to get to Lucy." Gray said as he passed Natsu his music sheets. "Once you finish this song, Lucy is going to forget all about him."

"I really hope so." Natsu said. He can't stand the idea of Lucy being with someone like Will, but there isn't much he can do at the moment. He just hopes he can settle things before anything permanent happens.

The Charity

A stage has been reserved for the charity event so Fairy Tale and Big Star can perform. The more money they make out of this, the more will go to helping the children's hospital.

"Hello, everyone." Levy said as she took the mic. "I would just like to thank everyone who is here. We're hoping to earn enough money to make a difference to a lot of children. I would also like to thank Fairy Tale and Big Star for taking the time to do such a thing." As Levy was talking, Natsu stood right next to Will, but kept glaring at him.

"Natsu, is everything okay?" Lucy asked.

"Yeah..." Natsu said, but Lucy didn't believe it.

"You got anything you like to say to me?" Will asked.

"Not much to a fraud like you, Wilbert." Natsu said with Will glaring right back at him. "Yeah. My brother actually went to school with you. He told me the truth about you. If you really want people to like you, you better admit the truth."

"And what are you going to do if I don't?" Will threatened and all Natsu could do was stay silent. "That's right. Just stand there and watch as I steal your fans and your little girlfriend."

"What is your problem?" Natsu said.

"That's show business, you do whatever it takes to get to the top." Will said. "As I said before, what are you going to do about it? Huh, you third-rate guitarist that wouldn't know a good song if it blasted him right in the ears?"

"Okay, that's it!" Natsu said as he shoved him. Will shoved back and that's when things got out of hand as Natsu tackled him to the ground.

"Natsu!" Lucy said.

"Sweet! We get to rumble!" Gajeel said. Both sides jumped in and things were getting out of hand. Not a good thing to do when you have reporters out there, but Natsu took the chance to claim an idea that might settle things.

"That's it!" Natsu said as he grabbed the mic. "We challenge Big Star to a battle of the bands! We're changing the performance into that, same day and time! Be there!" It's a battle of the bands, but let's hope Natsu doesn't come to regret this.
