The night yielded the same boys from the previous night plus a few more. Rufio and Felix soon joined them, dancing with the aging boys.
Pan joyed over the boys dancing in front of him, though he was missing a face he silently longed to see again.
The moon was high in the sky before a wind swept by the pied piper and the shadow appeared to mingle with the boys.
Pan felt a person behind him. He stopped in his playing as he turned to see the blonde girl walking up, her bare feet so bright against the grass and leaves.
Her blonde hair took on the bright firelight as she neared. She had pulled a coat over her gown tonight, and she adjusted it as though she was cold despite the warm brown fabric.
"No, please, continue playing."
"I was afraid you wouldn't return." Pan mumbled to her as she stepped more into the light.
"You weren't in the courtyard tonight. The shadow led me here." She lifted her sleeve so he could see the fair grey hand impression the shadow had left on her skin.
He scrunched his face, having never seen such a mark left by his companion. "My apologies," He reached out for her wrist. "Does that hurt?" He ran his thumb over the marks which were slowly fading.
She shook her head.
"I've brought some friends." He wrapped an arm around her to turn her around, pointing out the Lost Boys.
She smiled, going closer to the boys as Peter began to play again.
Felix looked back at their leader, confused.
Peter nodded his approval as Rufio took her hand and began to dance with her.
