Cyril: Origins
Story, from Cyril's perspective:
I was a dragon from a poor family, and because of this, I didn't have that many friends. In fact, I had a lot of bullies when I was a youngling, which is why I felt so connected. I could relate, but the true reason behind this, happened when I was 12 years of age.
Because I had so little friends, I had devoted my whole life to studies and politics. I wanted to help my family prosper, and after a test which I had aced, a couple of older dragons started picking on me as usual. I ignored them, but the leader of the boys would not stop. He started to shove me around, because he had tried to copy my answers, and he had most likely flunked. We were on top of a huge tower at the time, because the class was held there.
He started to fight me, and I dodged around most of them. I had never been that good with fighting, and as a result, my elements had not progressed. He knocked me down. He laughed and said that I was good for nothing, like my mother and father.
I don't know exactly what happened next, but the next thing I know, I'm waking up in the infirmary a week later. To hear them say it, I had completely overdriven my mana supply, and that was because that was when my special ability first manifested, the ability to create blue ice, where the control is so sharp, an ice dragon can literally pull the water vapor from the air and form it into ice.
From another witness, I had stood up, and unleashed a massive ice wave at them, puncturing through their wings, and crippling two of them, but the one who had insulted my parents was not as lucky. He had been stabbed through the heart, and both lungs. The healers did everything they could, but they had no hope of saving him.
I faced criminal charges of first degree murder, but thankfully i was not incarcerated, because the eyewitness had said that I had been acting in self defense, which made sense to everyone, but not to me. In my mind, I had killed a dragon that had not known any better. After that, everyone started to isolate themselves from me. They called me a murderer and a jinx, and even my friends left me after some time. I had considered ending my life more that a couple times, but my parents kept me alive.
I was almost unable to take the guardian position, but the reason I was able to was because the criminal charges never made it into my record, and because i was the only dragon to be able to use blue ice. When I saw you, I was fully convinced that you had done those countless murders on purpose, and that you needed to be put down, because I believed that you would betray us all in a heartbeat, but then I met Spyro.
That young dragon has a more pure heart than any of us, and he decided that you were worth saving, and he has never been wrong. When I heard that you were trapped, I thought it was because of you, but to hear Spyro tell it, I finally started to trust you. And I now see you in myself, a person who unintentionally caused people misery, and rejected by everyone for it. And that is it.
Present:
"And that is why I acted the way I did." Cyril finished.
"Wow, I. Never knew." replied Cynder.
"I'm sorry, and I hope you forgive me..."
"Out! Out!" shouted a mole nurse, "This dragon has a punctured spine and several broken ribs! He needs rest! Out!"
Cynder was pushed along by the raging nurse to the door, where she saw Cyril give her a thumbs up, and she gave one before being shoved out of view.
Spyro was in a dream, he knew it by the bleakness of the landscape. By testing his voice, he knew he could talk, but wondered why he was having a lucid dream, but was somewhat answered when two tornadoes of darkness revealed two dark dragons, no bigger than Spyro himself.
Spyro perceived these two as threats, so he crouched in a position that would allow him to move anywhere in a moments notice. The two dragons looked at each other and sighed. "For someone who had their lives saved by us, I would expect a little less tension." the first dragon said in a monotonous voice.'
"True, I mean, we save a person's life and this is what we get? Horrible." the second dragon said in a similar emotionless voice.
Spyro stopped crouching and sat down normally. "Who are you two, and what do you mean by healing me?"
"We are the dark counterparts of this world. We come from an alternate reality, where everyone is doubled and dark. We, specifically are the dark counterparts of you, even though we just learned that a few hours ago." said the one on the left.
"Okay, first of all, I need to know your names, or else this will get confusing." said Spyro.
"I am Archion and this is Choryrth" said the one on the right.
"Our names mean Anarchy and Chaos," said Choryrth.
"Okay, so my next question, is how on earth did you get here, and why are you here."
"Well, we can save that for a later date, but at the moment, we have more pressing matters to discuss. Like Quetzalcoatl." said Archion.
"Who?"
"You in this world simply know him as the Dark Master, but he has awakened some ancient evils that are so powerful, even a previous Dark Master teamed with the good guys to seal them away, because they had become way too dangerous. They are known in our world as Sentra de Darrius, known in your world as the Seven Sins."
"So, that Wrath and Envy?"
"You mean Caseous and Kratom? Yes. They were Sins. The rest are Praetor, known as Pride, Frantos, known as Gluttony, Lyrysus and Hontor, known as Lust and Sloth, and finally Kambui, known as Greed. They all are extremely powerful. Kratom, which is who you faced, was using all his power, but not all of his true power. If he feeds on enough wrath, he will make the destroyer look like a children's bully. Don't worry, that is the strongest you will face, but the rest of them have their own strengths. Kambui is stealthy, and prides himself in assassination missions." began Choryrth.
"Speaking of Pride, Praetor makes his enemies overconfident and uses that to his advantage. Frantos uses his power to make the people he is fighting super drowsy, and Lyrysus is pretty much the same, but has more fighting prowess. Hontor uses her powers to put strain on personal relationships, making bonds of teammates break, and Caseous makes jealousy spew from even the most mildest of grudges." continued Archion.
"So, is there any immediate danger?" asked Spyro.
"From what we can tell, no. The Dark Master was just testing the waters of your power, visualizing how to deal with you as a threat. All I can say is, you have to get stronger. What we can tell, that Dark Defense mode of yours is simply the tip of the iceberg. You are a special case when it comes to dragons." started Archion
"You are a mix of light and dark powers. Normal purple dragons are able to utilize the power of Time Energy, which is basically Light Aether, the counter to dark Aether, or Nether. Combining the two is physically impossible, because they are polar opposites to each other. Want a visual image? Think of Time energy as Hyruthian, and Nether as Meconium, two minerals of no volatile nature, but when pushed together, they detonate, because the masses are polar opposites. There are some theories that state that there is a sort of Neutral energy, but that is purely hypothetical, so don't try that anytime soon, but back on topic.
"Your time abilities stem from your heritage as a purple dragon, and that beam of the Eternal Night, caused Dark Aether to infest your body. By all accounts, you should have exploded from the combating energy, which is why it felt so painful, but you survived. Malefor survived because his massive body and purple dragon lineage helped him survive, and he had trained extensively to handle the energy. As a result, your power was raised far beyond normal limitations, which allowed you to defeat the Dark Master." finished Choryrth
"So, one last question, how do you two appear, like, in real life, because I remember now when we defeated Wrath, or Kratom or whatever, you showed up. Why was that?"
"Power. You had entered the perfected state of your dark form. Up until now, it has been never used, because what you had used formerly was the Wrathful Mode, which gives you the offensive aspects. Your body was only barely able to use it, and you were only able to activate it by chance. It was about a 10 percent chance that it was going to work. Think of Wrath as a 10 on a power scale. Your base is a 2, your defense mode a 3, your Wrathful mode a 7, and your perfected form an 12. You have a lot of potential Spyro. We can only give you this information in the dreamscape, but if you are able to summon us in the real world, we will be able to give a lot more information." responded Archion.
"Archion, our time's up." Choryrth said, starting to disappear.
"Alright, we can only talk to you like this once every two days, so better get started on perfecting the Dark Form." Archion said as he disappeared.
"You might be able to speak with us soon, I hope." Choryrth said as he disappeared.
Spyro woke up from his dream in his bed. Looking out from his window, he knew that bad things were coming, and he was going to pull out everything to stop him.
At the Volcano, Luin was pacing back and forth his tail sweeping in between the rocks as he thought. A portal appeared and Envy and Wrath fell out of it, Wrath seeming worse for wear. "What happened? Tell me please.".
"Well, Kratom over here decided it would be a good idea to try and kill one of the Guardians, and in doing so, pushed that purple brat to a whole new level, and something weird happened at the end."
"What something weird?" asked Luin inquisitively.
"Well, from my perspective, it looked as if two other dragons materialized next to him, and they looked pretty much identical to Spyro.".
At those words, Luin roared in anger and called, "Kambui!"
"You bellowed?" asked Greed as he walked into the room.
"I want you to infiltrate Warfang, and find out what is going on with Spyro, and if necessary, try to find out what Malefor is up to.".
"You got it." Greed said, and he seemingly melted into the shadows.
"I knew those two would get involved. Why wouldn't they?"
Envy cautiously asked, "What two people are you talking about? You seem like you know them from somewhere, and as the sins, we would like to know where you know them from, and if they are a possible threat to us so we can exterminate them immediately, and how this may affect our mission to destroy earth.".
"I am talking about the two dragons who appeared at Spyro's side in the battle, who I wished never to see again after so many years away from their trouble and antagonism, Archion and Choryrth, the two ones who caused me to be banished to this dumpster of a reality."
