Sunday was spent recovering after a late wake up, I prepared myself to go back to class. I packed my essay into my backpack with my notebook and class books needed for Monday. Luckily it was my short day to get me back into the swing of things, just History and Woman in War Studies. I made Nat and I some dinner before taking a shower and having an early night.

Bucky: You up?

I awoke to my text tone, and this message, I smirked;

Me: Now I am, it's 7, why are you waking me up this early?

Bucky: Sorry! I thought maybe you'd want to go for a hot chocolate before class?

Me: How about I get another 20 minutes beauty sleep and I meet you in class with hot chocolate?

Bucky: You got it, I'll get the drinks, see you there, sorry again! x

I rolled over, smiling to myself -Bucky is such a nice guy-

20 minutes later my alarm blared, I took my time waking myself up and putting light makeup on and getting changed, it was around 8.30 when I left the dorm to take the 10-minute walk to class, backpack on looking like a kid on their way to their first day at school. I skipped up the steps to the History building, reaching the class door I paused, took a deep breath and headed in. Prof. Phillips glanced up from his papers and nodded to me, I smiled back taking my essay out of my backpack and placing it on his desk.

"Thank you, Miss Sayers, take a seat."

I bounced up the stairs finding my seat, Bucky was already there smiling at me, handing me a hot chocolate.

"You look happy," He smirked,

"I'm weirdly excited to be back, and you got my hot chocolate, what have I got to be sad about?"

"Well you're welcome," He took a sip of his drink, before pointing to mine "Oh, it is hot chocolate but a new recipe, Chocolate and Ginger?"

"Oooh," I sniffed it before taking a sip "Oh my God, it tastes like these biscuits I used to make with my mam. They were ginger biscuits dipped in this expensive chocolate my mam used to get given to her off her Auntie every Christmas, so good!"

"Sounds good,"

"Here, have a sip," I pushed my cup towards him, he laughed quietly taking it off me, taking off the lid and taking a sip,

"Oh yeah, that's good."

"We should recreate my mam's biscuits one day, do you bake?"

"Never, I can cook, savoury. But baking was always my sister's thing,"

"Well you cook some dinner, I'll make dessert," I laughed,

"It's a date."

"Wai-"

"Miss Sayers! First day back, let's keep the chatter to a minimum!" Prof Phillips shouted up the stalls, "So… Last week we were concentrating on WW1, let's continue our discussion on the timeline, Mr. Marsden tell us where we left off!"

Just like that the class started, I couldn't help but feel a little bubbly after Bucky mentioned a date, -did he mean it?- I'd leap at the opportunity. An hour into class Bucky passed a slip of paper onto my desk.

Date? This weekend?

I read it twice, heart thumping before looking at Bucky, he was writing his class notes as if he had no idea about the note he'd just passed me. I wrote underneath his note and passed it back.

Where are you taking me? :)

I watched Bucky pick up the note and smirk at it before I turned back to watch and listen to Prof Phillips. The note slid back onto my desk.

Surprise, just be free on Friday.

I read it with a smile and wrote back

You got it.

We left the note swapping there and both got back to note taking for class. As we were packing up our stuff at end of class, I looked at Bucky, he winked and stepped out of the stalls.

"See you, next class" He waved and left. I smiled, butterflies in my stomach. I snapped out of it grabbing my backpack and running to next class.

The rest of the week was seriously uneventful, every time I saw Bucky whether it was passing on the Quad, the Library or in Class I tried to get some information out of him about Friday night, he wouldn't spill. He said he wanted it to be my best first date. Super romantic, a tad impractical for planning an outfit. By Thursday I felt like I was just waiting for Friday to come around, Classes were long and my research seminar on Friday was wasted. When Friday night came around, I was running around like a headless chicken trying to prepare myself for this date.

"What time is Bucky coming to get you?" Nat asked from on her bed,

"20 minutes," I was rushing trying to finish my makeup, do my hair, choose an outfit, "I'm so unprepared, what should I wear?"

"Calm down, where you going?"

"He didn't say, he said he was going to be a surprise" I sighed, "So frustrating"

"A surprise…" she smirked, "Ok, wear that little navy dress and my red heels, oh let me curl your hair!"

"Is that not too much?" I frowned,

"Hey, I know Bucky, and as soon as he sees you in that, he'll make this surprise work for that outfit," She smirked, pulled out her curling wand, plugged it in and started sectioning my hair,

"I'm nervous,"

"Sure, you are, you don't date. Plus, it's with Bucky, but it'll be fine, if it doesn't work out, he'll always want to be your friend."

We spent the rest of the time in happy silence as I finished my make-up and Nat curled and pinned my hair a little, a knock on the door announced Bucky's arrival, I grabbed my dress, and Nat's heels and ran into the bathroom.

From the bathroom I could hear Nat letting Bucky in and telling him I was just finishing up. I sprayed my lovely smellies, and hairspray before pulling on my dress and zipping it up, I pulled on Nat's heels and checked myself out in the long mirror hanging on the back of the bathroom door. -Ok, this is good, I'm ready-

With a deep breath, I walked out. Looking up, Bucky was standing there looking amazing. He was wearing blue suit pants and a white long-sleeved shirt, simple but he looked amazing. I cleared my thought, he turned.

"Hey Bucky, you're early" I smiled, he looked straight at me and smiled

"Sorry I couldn't wait,"

"Well, you two should get away, I've got essays to write and I'm not having your date ruin that," Nat smirked,

"Sure Nat, let's go Bucky,"

"After you," He held the door open for me, "Bye Nat"

As we walked out of the dorm, Bucky smiled "You look gorgeous, by the way,"

"Thanks Bucky, you look… super handsome," I smiled with an embarrassed laugh,

"Why thank you," he laughed, "So tonight, I've got a couple of things planned,"

"Oh yeah? Where to first?"

Bucky smirked down at me, "You'll see, come on it's just a short walk"

I walked beside him, we talked about our classes, and plans for the Christmas break coming up. It wasn't long before Bucky stopped us outside of the local arcade.

"The arcade?"

"Yeah, I'm gonna win you a teddy bear." He smiled down at me enthusiastically, I laughed,

"Bucky, that's so sweet, I'm gonna win you a… car?"

"Well we best get to work," he pulled out a hand full of quarters out of his pocket "Here," He pushed half into my hand,

"This is great," I looked down at my heels, I was going to regret these.

We walked in, looking at the claw machines and the prize games. I pointed to the racing games, "How about I kick your butt on some of those before we compete on the claw machines."

"You're on," He held my hand and pulled me over, "You sure you can race in those," He pointed to my heels,

"We'll see," I smiled, hiding my modesty as I climb onto one of the bike racing games. Bucky smirked, not so subtly looking me up and down,

"Okay, prepare to lose" He climbed onto his own and we each put a quarter in and started, I almost slid off the bike twice, Bucky reaching out each time to steady me, we laughed our way through a few courses on the bikes before making our way through the arcade, playing racing, shooting and fighting games before moving onto the claw machines. We split up a couple of machines apart, I chose one with cuddly toys from Disney's Cars, I figured he'd appreciate a Mater pick-up truck. I couldn't see what was in the machine he chose.
