Here is year three of our friends in Northwestern high school, with the new school year everyone was excited about the outcome about an engine building class. Then Thomas Discovers the Holy bible and started to read into it before becoming intrigued with it. We will see what it will lead our friends through out the year.

8. Responsibilities of love part 2

The arrival of the mainland steelworks humanized engine on the Island of Sodor, has brought some troubling feelings between Nia and Rebecca. The problems between Duck and Nia have yet to be addressed before Hurricane could make his move on the humanized African engine, while Duck needs to prioritize his interests of life, his love for the railway is putting a damper on his relations with Nia. Do we believe he will get it before he could lose Nia to someone else? Let us read on and find out how everyone is doing now, Shall we?

Responsibilities of Love part 2.

Thomas and Rosie are in the woods looking and sorting through the pine trees he hopes to trim down for the Holidays and decided on the one for the dining hall for just in time for their homestead Thanksgiving. This year will be different from the previous two. The holiday is usually an American holiday that significance it's time to stop and reflect on all that happen through out the year and help pray for hope for the following year, and many years to come.

Buddy is also with them along with Ariel, Thomas's sister with the Narrow-gauge boys and the Cutie mark crusaders in helping pick and sort the trees right for harvesting. Applejack and Fluttershy are also along. Applejack to help bring in the trees with her brother Big Mac, and Granny smith who came along to see the winter wonderland behind Thomas's homestead.

Thomas. "Remember Fluttershy, we have asked you to come along and help make sure we did not cut down any animal's home when we pick the trees for the holidays."

Fluttershy. "Right, and I am here to ask if they know of trees, they feel the forest can go without for the duration of the wintertime."

Applejack. "I know that I can be a big part of this harvesting of the holiday trees, I have no idea you grow Christmas trees too."

Rosie. "These were the trees we found once we gained the property Applejack, we decided to let the young trees grow just a bit until we find them to be the right sizes to thin them out to help open up the forest a bit to make room for the wild game run around in."

Ariel. "In a way you can say we try and keep the forest healthy, the same time it allows the forest to rejuvenate it self to promote new growth after we thin out the right aged pines we then send to markets for the holidays and that is another way we make an income from out homestead."

Granny Smith. "That a way of making good with your resources you three, and what a lively little puppy you have with you." She says as Buddy came up to say hello to Granny Smith.

Apple Bloom. "His name is Buddy granny; he is the newest member of the Billington Family."

Sweetie Bell. "Thomas and Rosie adopted Buddy after he helped rescue him and his family during that cattle drive, we were on."

Peter Sam. "He is fun."

Rheneas. "And very lively indeed."

Rusty. "Everyone is happy now that buddy is with us too."

Duncan. "How much longer are we to be out here?"

Rosie. "There are two more trees we need to find for Knapford and for Ulfsted Castle, once we find them, mark them for the following week when the Holiday begins. Then we can return after the Thanksgiving holiday and collect them for their destination with the other trees Henry and Emily plan to sell in their shop."

The group found the trees, Thomas and Ariel helped string colored ribbon around the trunks of the trees and decided to check to make sure no animal is occupying the trees Fluttershy came up to see if anyone was at home. Angel we with her and decided to hop up the trees and see it from branch to branch for any animal refuging in the treetops. Then after a thorough search, Angel poked his head from the tops of the trees to give a bunny thumbs up that the trees were empty.

Fluttershy. "Everything is a go Thomas, these trees are empty of any critters, which means we can take these trees down so new trees can grow in their place."

Thomas. "Alright all I am going to place these ribbons on the trees then we can call it a day and return just before Thanksgiving and keep two for the homestead, then send the various trees for the holiday market."

Applejack. "Careful about saying such a thing in front of Futtershy, she is most sensitive around such a day."

Ariel. "Really, I thought you were getting better of such days Fluttershy?"

Fluttershy. "I am, I just don't focus on what the main item of the meal is, I just focus on the side items that are just delicious to not be thankful for."

After Thomas placed the ribbons on the trees and Buddy broke free to find the right tree for the dinning hall of the homestead.

Scoot a Loo. "Hey Buddy, where are you going?" She said as the puppy spotted the right size tree for the dining hall and the main log home of the property."

Buddy. "Grr. Ruff, ruff, ruff."

Then Thomas wrapped two ribbons on the trees that Buddy helped picked out for home.

Ariel. "Aren't you such a helpful puppy Buddy?"

Buddy romped around and yapped knowing he made his people happy about finding something for the home.

Thomas. "Alright everyone it is time we headed for home and get everything ready for dinner while I have business to attend in the poultry barn."

Then Granny Smith came close enough to his ear to speak of what he means.

Granny Smith. "Oh, which of them are to be use on Thanksgiving night?"

Rosie. "He has to take out two of the Toms for that night while he saves the other two for the holidays."

Thomas. "I plan to save the younger of the eight, that way we can have enough for the breeding flock."

Fluttershy. "Hopefully I can bring home a few of the flocks, that way they can live out their lives without worry about the dinner plate."

Ariel. "Just make sure you do not rob us of our needed flocks for our supply of poultry Fluttershy, Turkey is not just served on Thanksgiving, it is used almost every time wanted turkey either for another light meat source, or just for a luncheon meat for sandwiches."

Applejack. "All that matters is that everyone here is happy to be part of this homestead. Well most of us by the way."

Granny Smith. "Ah, what do you mean by that Applejack?"

Thomas. "Lately we have noticed a change in Duck that may be effecting our friend Nia from Africa."

Duke. "Having problems, are they?"

Ariel. "It is more like someone is neglecting a special someone in his life and is unaware of it."

Apple Bloom. "What is going on with Duck, and why is he unaware about what is happening between him and Nia?"

Sweetie Bell. "I thought that Duck is madly in love with Nia after she helped pointed him out his importance on the homestead."

Rosie. "The Thing is Sweetie Bell, that since Duck had returned with James to learn about driving the trains while working as a fireman. Duck has started to focus his attentions on his old branch line and hopes to return to it full time one day."

Scoot a Loo. "But that is a good thing he wants to return to what he loves the most."

Thomas. "When he was once the engine Scoot a Loo, since then he has forgotten to be part of a society where people are a part of his life now that he is not the engine but the driver."

Skarlowey. "You mean he is prioritizing his branch line over his love interest in Nia?"

Applejack. "I may not know of what it is like to be an engine like the rest of you are, but I do know you cannot neglect the people in your life especially the love interest you developed throughout your life."

Duke. "It is in good interest of the grace to have prioritize you effort on the rails but is wouldn't suit him to neglect anyone who means more to him than anything else."

Thomas. "I have a feeling he is unaware of what he is doing, we have seen how many times Nia wanted to spend some time with him. Duck would find some excuse weather they were warranted or not, to engage in any activity with Nia."

Ariel. "This usually causes Nia to feel neglected and under appreciated by Duck no matter how she tried to get his attention and find the right way to bring him to her."

Thomas. "We need to have a nice chat with Duck at dinner time tonight, and get to the bottom of why he is like this and hopefully there would be a way to let the two heal off their wounds of affections for each other."

Big Mac. "Yup. The better they get everything out of the way, the better and happier the homestead tends to be."

Fluttershy. "Anything that can help our friends out wouldn't you say so too Angle?" Angel nodded yes knowing there are problems with the two mentioned earlier.

Back on the homestead Rebecca and Nia had joined up with James, Percy, Jessica, and Jasper of who they have met from the Billington bay Docks.

James. "Let me get this straight you two had met up with not only Merlin, Lexi and Theo, but they have brought along Hurricane and Frankie to the Island too?"

Rebecca. "That is right James, and from the looks of her. It appears she is hoping to find some interests in Thomas since hearing how he is now the owner of this place with the help of the controller of course."

Nia. "I also had a bad feeling from that Hurricane fellow too, he looked at me if he wanted to find some time with me. I am not looking forward in confronting someone like him just yet."

Jessica. "But I thought both Hurricane and Frankie were a couple just like the many couples you see here on this homestead?"

James. "They are sis, it's just that Frankie and Hurricane have very sick minds of having multiple affairs instead of keeping to each other."

Jasper. "In America there have been this movement called the Mormons who the husbands believed in multiple wives in one family. The movement is a polygamy movement where the head of the household is the man while he had many wives with children. To some it may be immoral to have multiple spouses with one man."

Percy. "Why so many, wouldn't the one wife that means the most to the man be enough?"

Then Twilight Sparkle, Flash Sentry, and Starlight Glimmer to hear about who just arrived from the mainland.

Twilight Sparkle. "That depends on the culture of where such events and Ideas had occurred Percy. Although I may not like the idea of someone using me a part of a harem. That is why I focus my efforts with Flash so he and I can work out our differences and pray for the better."

Flash Sentry. "You better believe it my friends, ever since I have revealed my interest in Twilight Sparkle, I feel we can talk about anything, unless a touchy subject may come up now and then. When it happens, I usually go to another source. Usually that with either be Spike or even Shining Armor."

Nia. "I just hope me, and Duck can work out our problems right now."

Starlight. "Don't tell me that Duck continues to overlook you whenever he is home?"

Nia. "I am afraid so Starlight, I try all I can think of to gain his attention. But all I get at night is, that I have an early shift in the morning, maybe another time."

James. "Duck better come back to land soon or you could be picked up by someone who can find a way to whoosh you off your feet into their hands instead of Duck, Nia."

Rebecca. "Do not worry Nia, we are here for you when ever Duck is being forgetful about his priorities."

Percy. "WE are all here for you Nia, every single one of us."

Jasper. "Not to mention that he is still in school with the rest of us, since when he is always in the early morning shift for the railway when we need to get ready for school with everyone else?"

Jessica. "What make him to believe he is needed very early in the morning on a school day?"

Nia. "I really do not know; I ask him out even when he is on an off day. His excuse is he is terribly busy down by the rails, I really want to know of what he is doing by the tracks while he is on a day off from the rails."

Twilight Sparkle. "I believe we all need to know of what is going on with Duck, we will remain to learn the truth from Duck once he come back with Oliver and the Macintosh Twins."

James. "Duck has a lot to explain to the rest of us, and especially to you Nia."

Rebecca. "Unfortunately, I have to return to Tidmouth and meet up with the Gresley brothers once they return from their day on the rails."

Jessica. "Have a safe trip home Rebecca and say hello to Gordon and Scott for us."

Rebecca. "Not only that of Gordon and Scott, but since we had moved closer to Tidmouth Spencer decided to move in with us since he feels better with the rest of the Gresley family even if he is just a cousin of theirs."

Percy. "I feel sorry for Scott he has to listen in on both Gordon and Spencer when ever they get into any disputes about anything about their engine sides."

Rebecca. "Actually, when that happens Scot and I retreat to our noise escape cave in the basement." Everyone laughed about that when Rebecca had departed for home.

It was now getting close to dinner time and everyone was in the dining hall setting up the tables. Thomas and the boys are busy setting up the tables while the ladies were busy getting the food ready for the evening. Tonight's meal is a Stuffed Salmon filets, wild rice, and steamed winter vegetables, while those who have rejections to the main course, a stuffed red pepper with steamed cabbage and wild rice in a marinara sauce.

This attracted the smell of Fluttershy and everyone else who has yet to have a meal yet from the homestead, since they usually head home at this time.

Fluttershy. "MM, that smells so, good. And I smell something that is not made with any critters we know of."

Rosie. "While most of us are having stuffed Salmon fellies this evening, we also made the effort in making some stuffed pepper for the vegans of our homestead."

Pinky Pie. "Ooh, ooh, what did you plan for dessert?"

Emily. "We would have something ready for tonight if it was not for a nosey pink humanized pony sneaking off with it this afternoon."

Then her humanized pony friends have noticed the remains of a jelly rolled cake all over her mouth, realizing she had eaten their dessert before anyone else.

The ponies. "PINKIE."

Feeling sheepish she slinked away knowing she did a bad thing.

Pinky Pie. "Oh heh, heh, what was I to know they were going to make something so scrumptious that it is hard not to."

Rainbow Dash. "See this is the reason why we usually return to our world if you plan to eat out everyone here of their hard-earned food they grew, gathered and hunted for their survival Pinky."

Molly. "Well anyways we should get everything to the table, dinner is ready to be served."

Rarity. "Why don't I help you with that Molly dearie, I may be a guest, but I would not mind giving a hand or hoof now and then."

Molly. "Thank you, Rarity."

From the entrance of the dining hall came in the humanize little western engines including Duck who is still processing everything the other three Oliver, Donald and Douglas has been telling him about sorting his priorities between his return to the rails and his time with Nia.

Oliver. "Hello everyone, we are back from our little venture back to the branch line."

Thomas. "Did you all got there by train or by driving?"

Donald. "By driving, we were just trying to find a possible spot where we are still close to your homestead Thomas as well a spot close to the little western just the same."

Douglas. "Except that Duck wanted to be all the way to the Branch line, where he says he needs to keep an eye on."

Henry. "Why is he so worried about his branch line. His old crew are doing just that, and not a word of anything bad from it as Gordon has been telling the rest of us."

Oliver. "Even as a human he feels the need to be the great western engine he has always prioritized himself to be. We kept reminding him that he is now human and may considered doing other things besides his old engine ways."

Donald. "The rest of us have adjusted well as humans, all except for Duck of course."

When Duck came in and started to hear all that was said about him, he decided to stop and listen in on what they are saying.

James. "Well Mister little western needs to explain his behavior around Nia once we get him over here and explain to us about prioritizing his branch line over her."

Polly. "Let us calm down enough so everyone here has a good meal tonight, we do not want uneasy feelings around the dinner table tonight."

James. "I suppose Polly."

Jessica. "Don't worry my brother I am sure there could be an explanation with Duck and his behavior with Nia."

Nia. "I hope so Jessica, I am almost sure that his branch line had taken his priority over me, that he may one day not come back to find any relationship with me. And we had such a wonderful time together."

Emily. "I cannot understand of why he would treat you as the soul person in his life and the next someone he barely knows of anymore?"

Duck did hear this and is feeling appalled about being accused of being unfaithful to Nia.

Nia. "I really have no answers Emily, I just wish there was a real reason of why he is like this and treating me as I am not important to him anymore."

Duck heard this too and has no idea of what she was talking about. Then he started to think the many times Nia wanted to spend time with him. Even on the days when he did work long hours on the rails.

Thomas. "Well I know I would feel sick if I ever found myself forced cheating on Rosie, I would never intent to hurt her no matter how many times I get aroused by someone who I wish not to be involved with."

Percy. "You heard about Frankie and Hurricane haven't you Thomas?"

Thomas. "I went down to the Billington bay general store and found out the names of our new guests Percy."

Nia. "From the looks of her, she may want to find some time with you Thomas, even if it is against your will."

Rosie. "She better not, or she will be dealing with me. Thomas may be the brains of our homestead, but when it comes to brawn, I am the one who she needs to look out for."

Rainbow Dash. "You tell em' Rosie no one better come across my Cameron Stevenson and take him away from me."

Applejack. "And no one better lay their hands on my Austin Hudson, they will find themselves in a world of hurt if they do."

Thomas. "From what Oscar had told me of what they have said as they were escorted to the big bay cabin, it sounds like Frankie had not changed all that much besides allowing for the other three Merlin, Lexi, and Theo."

Twilight. "You mean she tried to convince you to come to her shed when you were the engine at that time?"

Thomas. "She and Hurricane tried to convince me in a three some. I would not have it."

Rosie. "Good for you Thomas, you stood up for what you believe is right."

Thomas. "Plus, it would not feel right getting involved with another couple. Love is not a game, nor is it something you take for granted."

James. "I could not agree more Thomas. I know I would not feel right if I was convinced in something like that. I know Molly would not be too pleased of me doing something like that. I am sure it will hurt her."

Molly. "it would certainly my James, and I am grateful to have you in my life my love."

James then whispers in her ear. "Hold on to that thought after dinner my sweet, we still have a meal to take part in."

Molly whispers in response. "Of course, my Jamesy."

James just giggled knowing a lot of my little pony fans usually allow Rarity to use that term on him, he is glad that it is coming from his real love Molly.

Emily. "Well now let us sit down and have our supper and have someone find Duck so we can start."

Oliver. "I will get him, and hopes he is ready for when we chat with him during the meal."

Then Oliver went over to where he managed to see where Duck had gotten to. When he found Duck, he noticed how down casted his little western friends is after overhearing everything from everyone.

Oliver. "Oh, there you are Duck, everyone is waiting for you, are you coming to dinner with the rest of us. Duck are you alright?"

Duck looked up in the eyes of his little western friends teary eyed after hearing it from everyone else about his behavior with Nia lately after returning to the rails as a driver.

Oliver asked. "Duck you have been hearing everything from the dining hall, haven't you?"

Duck nodded after coming to terms of everything he had heard from everyone else including Nia.

Oliver. "Well now you have heard everything are you ready to join us for dinner, or are you going to sulk on everything being said and abandoning Nia at the same time?"

When Duck heard the word abandoning Nia, it makes him sick to believe he would turn his back on the one who he does love. Then he asked the question. "Do you believe I had abandoned the one I loved Oliver? Have I been so unfaithful in my relationship with Nia?"

Oliver knows of what has been going on. "Since returning to the rails when you were with James you have targeted your attention back to the old branch line. A branch line that our old crews are still capable of operating while we are still in school and have many advantaged besides the railway. I also was shocked becoming of becoming human too Duck, but it allowed for me to explore the many things I can do now that my old engine self and Toad remain on the rails as I walk along with every other sudrian citizen. I have found my interest in bush crafting since I have always wanted to learn how to build emergency shelters. Remember I came to Sodor when the last days of steam had come to an end. Along the way I wanted to find a suitable shelter where Toad and I can find refuge and remain until all was good again. I may have ended up in that scarp yard due to the fact I ran out of coal. In all the same I felt really helpless until I heard Douglas on the other line about to make his return back to Sodor and had to give out the last of my steam to get his attention somehow. I was thankful For Douglas to rescue me when I had no hope left. Since then I always wanted to learn of creating some structures on how to hide or find refuge when you are in the worst of elements. I believe that is how the first of man had to learn to get out of the cold. That is why I involve myself in Bush Crafting in hopes of finding the skills I never learned had existed. Old skills to this day that have test the eras these structures were built. If I could find out on becoming independent, enough to find my recourses when I am on my wits end. Then I can find ways out of a very dire circumstance."

Duck heard everything from his little western friend after hearing how much Oliver wanted to help his crew on how to help him while escaping the scraper's torch. That is when he was the engine, now that he is a human has the freedom of learning how to perform duties while capable of learning them from others.

Duck. "Have you always wanted to do more that being a railway engine Oliver?"

Oliver. 'Before my humanization, I could think of many things I would not mind in helping, but as an engine bringing in the good and served my passengers. I had to abandon some thoughts to continue my work on the rails. Since my humanization I decided to find what else could perk my interest besides the rails. After helping Thomas on his homestead on the many structures to help his chances of improving the living conditions here. That had also sparked my interest on historical builds that existed long before the railway ever came to mind along Great Britain. Structures that told a story all on their own, that is why I had built those structures in the back country of the homestead. It is bringing a bit of history for everyone to see and learn about the eras these structures were built during their times here before everything became modern depends on how modern tends to be from time to time."

Duck did not know that Oliver had such interest after becoming human, Duck never really explored all he could do now he is not the engine and his old crew still do not plan of retiring anytime soon. All this time he hopes of returning to the rails, he did not know if he wanted to return as an engine or a human.

Duck. "Have you all had these interest since becoming human Oliver?"

Oliver. "Why don't you join us for dinner and we can explain why we developed the interest we have now we are not the engines, as an engine you are only tied to the rails while the human has many options in finding what perks them from morning until the final rays of the sun goes down at night. So, come on and just join us for dinner Duck and help explained to us about what you have been thinking about since your own humanization."

Duck came back and joined up with everyone who are at the dinner table, no one started eating until Thomas decided to say grace. Thomas wanted everyone to be present when he pronounces his saying of grace. Then we Duck and Oliver had arrived to join in that is when the grace was announced, and everyone started the meal, and everyone had explained all that took place that day. Everyone wanted to hear the explanation of Duck about his relations with Nia, and what is going on with him to make him forget his love interest. Duck did not realize he was neglecting Nia, apologizing for his behavior only he had no explanation except for missing his life as an engine.

Thomas. "You could have said that when the Tallshalleys had told us about the light in our trinkets Duck, and now you want to go back on your word now that you are human?"

Duck. "Uh- no. no Thomas, I have learned how to live beyond that of being an engine. I just do not know of what else I could do now am human."

Fluttershy. "You know Duck you almost sound afraid of failing in something other than railroading, am I right?"

Duck. "How would you know of something like that Fluttershy, I mean I have done well as an engine, just do not know of applying myself to anything else than a railway engine."

Fluttershy. "I have a brother who goes by the Name of Zipper Breeze, and the thing he was most afraid of was failing, so much he did not even bother of finishing any jobs he was given."

Spike. "I should know, while Twilight and I still lived in the castle of friendship Twilight offered Zipper Breeze a job in washing the castle windows. Instead he tricked me in doing all the windows when he said to me how to wash them properly."

Rainbow Dash. "No matter what kind of job anyone would give him, he always wanted to find a way of not doing them and became lazy in completing them."

Duck. "Then how did you managed to convince him to overcome his fears of failing?"

Fluttershy. "It was when I had to kick him out of my cottage back home and found him struggling to make a fire knowing he would not be able to make it without any inspiration of completing any task he was given. "

Rainbow. "We helped him find his confidence to find his place by challenging himself in completing the courses in mane styling and when he did it helped build his confidence and found his place graduating that school and now he is a professional mane stylist back home."

Thomas. "The point is here Duck, it is not just about your abilities when you are the engine, it is now to find the resources in helping you find what you are good at, during that time it would be helpful if you learn how to prepare yourself in times when you are at your wits end."

Rosie. "That what had happened to Thomas and me, we did not know we are going to own a homestead that is now another resort on the Island."

Henry. "After learning where Thomas was, Emily and I decided to join him in hopes to find a home of our own."

Emily. "It was not until later that our interest in floral arrangements and growing the greenery in our own floral shop. We decided that is what we would do whether we return to the rails or not."

James. "When the rest of us learned about our situation, we find it best to tough it out with Thomas even when I do not always show it. I still considered my life on the homestead better it has since my humanization two years ago."

Molly. "You and me both James, we barely see each other during our trips around the island. Since our humanization I find it best to be with the one I yarned for since my introductions to you."

Ariel. "The thing you need to know is not giving up on what would spark your interests besides the railway Duck, everyone her had found what they like to do now not the engine."

Duck. "What about you James have you found what you are good at now you are not the engine on the rails?"

James. "I do, I have at times learning how to dance the many dances Jasper and Jessica had learned when they were in the states."

Jessica. "We taught him all the western dances like line dancing and even those latin American dances like cha-cha and the tango."

Jasper. "He has also got learned how to tap dance after seeing something on the internet about an American Irish theatric show known as Riverdance."

James. "After watching how cool it looked, I had looked around to find a dance company on the island and began my lessons in that style of dance."

Rarity. "OH yes, Molly and I could not help but be inspired in James learning Irish style dancing as well the Mexican dancers too."

Duck was amazed about the other things the others have involved themselves in. "Well I am speechless; I never knew any of this."

Douglas. "That is what happens when you spend too much time on the rails Duck. James and all the others here also managed to return to the rails too, but even they managed the times between work and their off the track interests."

Donald. "Douggie and I also found our interest in wood working. After learning how to shape any piece of wood into anything we find come to mind. Well we find it best to use that as our inspirations for a career if railroading does not work for us now we are not apart of them at the moment."

Toby. "The rest of us do what we can to help Thomas, and Rosie. We also found our calling once we came out here too. And us four found that when we designated ourselves as range riders and cattle men and women."

Percy. "The best part of that is when you cannot help be watch everything around you as one keeps an eye out on the cows when they are in the fields."

Duck. "You are awful Quiet tonight Edward, what have you gained after your own humanization."

Edward. "I have found I do not have to be down the rails all of the time when I am off from the rails. I do what I can around my friends and my love interest as well. I am always eager to help even here on this homestead. At the end of the day it is peaceful, and I have a roof over my head along with my Holly Mikato."

Wyatt. "When he cannot be here, we do what we can to help my cousin Holly, Sonny and I still have plans of building our own cabin on the homestead. Until then we will hold on that until the following year and hopes everything next year would be better that this one."

Sonny. "This has been a trying year, not only with all the crazies this year including me, but the problems on the mainland and beyond I hope comes to an end soon."
