Chapter 17:
Lions Roar Part 2:
Quiet has fallen over the kingdom of Arendelle, the fjord is frozen to ice and the surrounding area is coated with ice and snow in the village. Standing in the Fjord was a Robeast coffin stood silently it had just arrived after the enemy force that sent it had been driven away from the kingdom. The villagers, guards and Blade of Marmora members looked in horror at the coffin. Voltron stood silently as he looked at the coffin.
"Oh no." Pidge breathed in horror.
"AHH! I knew this was over too quickly!" Hunk moaned.
"Oh please tell me theres not another giant monster in there!" Anna panicked next to Pidge as she pointed to the silent coffin.
"I wish we could Anna." Lance said dead serious.
"Whatever comes out of that coffin, we better be ready for it." Keith said he then inserts his Bayard and Voltron forms his sword which was soon followed by his shield forming from the Black lions wings.
Voltron takes up a battle stance ready to fight. "Stand your ground!" Shiro ordered.
After a minute if silence the coffin begins to open with steam roaring from it as the coffin falls apart and reveals its contents. Standing inside it was an armoured giant, with dark orange coloured armour, thin body in the abs and exposed areas of the armoured legs, Its arms were comprised of rocks which hovered from his body.
The monsters eyes then glowed as purple coloured fire emerged from them and that fire spread to the other parts of his body and the rock arms were now comprised of molten lava. The Robeast looked and saw Voltron standing before him it let out an ear splitting roar and from its hands fired a blast of fire at Voltron which he blocked with his shield. Voltron is forced back but is able to deflect the blast.
"Whoa! This robeast is fiery!" Lance said.
"Not the time for puns Lance!" Keith exclaimed. Voltron then rocketed towards the robeast with his leg thrusters.
"We need to draw its fire away from the kingdom!" Shiro ordered.
"LOOK OUT!" Elsa cried and Voltron was able to block the next fire blast from the Robeast but was propelled backwards. The robeast charges forwards and its left arm formed into an axe like weapon and swings it at Voltron who's able to block it with his shield.
From a distance Allura, Kristof, Kolivan and Sven watch the battle take place.
"Here I thought we were home free." Kristof said seeing this battle wasn't over yet.
"Where does Zarkon keep getting these beasts?" Allura wondered
"Princess, Princess come in!" Called a voice on the comms.
"Coran I'm here are you seeing this." Allura answered.
In the Castle of Lions, Coran, Reyner and Olaf with the mice could see the battle taking place.
"Yes we're seeing it alright not in a very good way." Coran answered.
"Ohh he looks mean" Olaf said.
"We can't do much to help them from here, one of the engines is still off line." Coran relayed.
"Do what you can to get the Castle fully operational the Paladins will need our help." Allura said on the coms.
Voltron continued to defend the relentless attacks of the Fire Robeasts axe the shield takes most of the punishment. "We can't hold out much longer!" Keith yelled.
"The sheild can't stand this much punishment!" Pidge exclaimed.
"What do we do!" Anna exclaimed.
"I'll make him back off!" Lance growled.
Voltron lifted his blue lion leg and the mouth opened to reveal its cannon which fired its ice blast at the Robeast in the lower ab making it yell in pain as it fell back from its attack. The blast seemed to burn its armour.
"Nice one Lance!" Elsa exclaimed.
"Thats how you put your foot down!" Keith exclaimed with a smirk.
The Robeasts eyes burned bright and forms two fireballs in its hands and throws them at the ground. Errupting from the ground the fireballs turn into four giant golems comprised of magma and fire. The Paladins, Ice queen and princess all look in surprise to this development.
"Oh Quisnak!" Pidge and Anna uttered.
"Okay how the hell did it do that?!" Lance yelled. The golems attacked throwing punches at Voltron from all sides and he struggles to defend himself. Voltron uses his jets to take to the skies above them.
"Hunk FORM SHOULDER CANNON!" Shiro ordered.
Hunk inserts his Bayard and Voltrons sword disappears and the shoulder cannon appears in its place. The cannon fires a barrage of laser fire on the golems below but while the blast pushes the back burning holes in them they quickly heal like a fire ever burning.
"That barely hit them!" Hunk exclaimed. The golems retaliated by firing fire balls at Voltron who is able to dodge them. "We'll need to try something else!" Lance exclaimed.
"Then we'll pick them off!" Shiro decided "LION HEAD ATTACK!"
Pidge formed her Bayard then turned to Anna. "Anna grab onto something!" She said to which Anna responded by griping the pilots chair.
Pidge, Kieth, Lance and Hunk inserted their Bayards. Voltron throws his arms forward and the lion heads launch from his arms and legs flying towards the golems. The Green and Yellow lion heads attack the golems with laser fire while Red and Blue attack with their jaw blades to slice through them. Only for their wounds to be completely healed the golems tried to swat the lions heads but thankfully they were able to avoid them.
The lion heads returned to Voltron. "We're getting no where!" Keith exclaimed.
Anna from the Green Lions cockpit noticed something about the fire golems something familiar. "Wait, guys they kinda look like Marshmallow." Anna said.
"What they don't look like a treat?!" Pidge said confused.
"No Marshmallow the giant snowman that guards my Ice Palace." Elsa said and her sister was right they did look like Marshmallow.
"Wait!" Pidge realised "The ability to create fire creatures, its like Elsa and her ice powers! The Galra must've used what they studied to create their own version!" She added.
"Wait are you saying…I helped them build this monster!" Elsa gasped in horror.
"This isn't your fault." Shiro assured. Suddenly the golems and Fire Robeast blast a torrent of fire together at Voltron who was just able to block it with his shield.
"And it looks like they've made some improvements!" Hunk exclaimed. The Paladins growled as they blocked the torrent.
"We can't take this much longer!" Keith exclaimed.
"We've got no choice" Shiro exclaimed "BACK INTO LIONS!" Voltron deflects the torrents and disbands back into individual lions.
They fly in separate directions to avoid the fire torrent. The Red lion attacks the Fire Robeast with laser fire to try and hurt the others but the laser blast has no effect on the armour. Yellow lion gets hit by the fire torrent but thanks to its armour it could withstand the heat. "OH OH THATS HOT!" Hunk exclaimed. Pidge and Anna were being rocked about inside the Green lion trying to avoid the torrent.
"Come on girl you can do it!" Anna exclaimed In the Black Lion Shiro tried to figure out how to fight these thing, then Elsa realised something.
"Wait, when we pushed the monster away Lance's ice blast was the only thing that hurt it." She said to Shiro.
"Yeah but fire melts ice." Shiro said.
"Yes but it burnt him maybe if we tried freezing them.." Elsa said and Shiro was getting an idea of where this was going.
"Pidge if we froze the golems would they stay in place?" Shiro asked.
"For about 20 seconds at least but then the heat would melt the ice!" Pidge relayed.
"Then we'll have to work fast!" Elsa said.
"Right, Lance freeze them, Hunk when they're frozen ram into them they'll shatter like glass!" Shiro ordered. "GO!"
Blue lion charged straight for the golems and fired its ice cannon from its mouth and hits the four golems and due to the immense cold of the beam and the surrounding environment they froze but they were still glowing. Before the ice could crack Yellow lion swooped in and using its armour claws crashed straight through the golems one by one shattering like glass. The Fire Robeast forms duel axes on its hands and tries to strike the Yellow Lion until the Black and Red Lions come swooping in firing their lasers forcing it back.
Yellow flies away from the area. "EVERYONE CONVERGE!" Shiro ordered and the lions took to the sky leaving a trail in their respective colours before coming together again in a flash of light.
"FORM VOLTRON!"Shiro exclaimed.
The lions come together to reform Voltron as quickly as possible, forming the arms and body followed by the feet and legs, and finally Black formed the head.

Voltron reforms and hovers above the Fjord facing the fire Robeast and rockets down fist first with the Paladins yelling. The fire Robeast pulls back a fist and as Voltron approaches the two fists meet each other generating a massive shockwave.
Meanwhile in the Castle of Lions Coran and Reyner are hard at work analysing the Robeast for any possible weaknesses. Soon Allura, Kristof, Kolivan and Sven arrive on the bridge.
"Hey Allura and the others are back." Olaf chirped.
Coran and Reyner turned to see the Altean Princess. "Coran have you found anything on this creature!" Allura asked.
"We're analysing it for any weaknesses." Coran said.
"Have you found any?" Kristof asked.
"Well so far we've learned that the armour is comprised of strong materials and has abilities similar to that of molten lava from a planets very core." Reyner explained suddenly the consoles began giving off a warning symbol on the scans of the creature.
"Wait." She said looking at the console. "Oh no!" She breathed in horror.
"What what is it?!" The Ice master asked and Kolivan looked at the console and had a look of horror in his eyes.
"They didn't.."
Meanwhile Voltron fights the Robeast armed with his sword and shield, deflecting the strikes of the beast armed with an axe on his right hand and a mace on his left. The Robeast burned with fire as Voltron deflected the strikes.
"Paladins come in!" Allura called on the coms.
"Allura what is it!" Shiro said still focusing on the battle.
"You must defeat that monster now!" She exclaimed
"We're working on it Princess!" Keith exclaimed.
"No you don't understand!" Kolivan sounded "The Robeast is a bomb!"
"WHAT!" The Paladins and sisters exclaimed.
"We scanned the Robeast for any weaknesses and we found that its core temperature is rising." Reyner explained from the Castle. "The more it fights the hotter it gets and once it reaches critical mass it'll explode!"
Pidge and Hunks eyes then widened in realisation. "Uh Reyner…whats its estimated blast range?" Hunk asked
"Its the equivalent of a super nova" Reyner answered "Then that means it'll take out everything Arendelle with it!" Pidge concluded.
The two sisters widened their eyes with horror knowing what fate would befall their home. "This must've been Zarkons contingency plan if the invasion failed." Kolivan surmised.
"Then we have to stop this now we need to…" Suddenly Shiro felt a pain in his chest and nearly collapsed this didn't go unnoticed by Elsa.
"Shiro wha-whats wrong!?" She asked and as she looked through his visor she saw his eyebrows turn white. She looked in horror and took off his helmet she saw his hair was turning snow white and his skin was as cold as ice.
"Shiro.. y-you're!" She stuttered.
"Whats going on?" Keith asked.
"Its Shiro, h-he's as cold as ice!" Elsa replied much to the shock of the others. "When we were fighting Zarkon I was going to hit him with ice but he used Shiro as a shield and took the blast to the chest!" She realised and Anna was all but horrified as she knew what this meant.
"Wait but that means.." Pidge said.
"It hit his heart!" Anna breathed.
"and that means…" Lance said in horror. "He'll freeze from the inside out!" Hunk concluded.
"We have to do something!" Keith exclaimed.
"No." Shiro groaned. "Theres no time for that now we need to stay focused." He added.
Voltron deflected another strike from the Robeast. Suddenly the beast retracted his weapons and turned his attention to Arendelle. It raised its hands and began forming a giant torrent of fire as it formed a voice suddenly emerged from the beast
"YOU WILL ALL BURN!"
The Paladins looked shocked when they heard this. "Wait did the Robeast just talk?" Hunk exclaimed. Keith then realised something hearing the vocal patterns in its distorted voice.
"Wait that voice…HANS?!" He exclaimed.
The beast fired at the Kingdom but the torrent was blocked by Voltron's shield, who held the line protecting the village. The kingdoms populace were all worried and in fear of their destruction. Voltron was starting to slide back.
"Hold it together team HOLD THE LINE!" Shiro exclaimed and the Paladins thrusted the flight sticks forward and Voltron held the line.
The Robeast kept increasing power its eyes glowed bright as an infinite fire the torrents heat increased and Voltron was beginning to slide back again. The Paladins did the best they could to hold the line, the armour on the giant robot would normally melt but the ore is virtually indestructible, however inside the cockpit the Paladins were beginning to feel the heat it was slowly suffocating them. In the Green Lion Pidge was holding out as was Anna but they couldn't stand the heat. Anna looked up to see Pidge was slowly passing out.
"Pidge!" She said cupping the sides of her face. "Pidge stay with me!" Anna pleaded but the Green Paladin was beginning to pass out "No… Pidge… Katie look at me!" She cried.
In the Yellow Lion Hunk was beginning to pass out from the heat and Lance could see this from the Blue lion.
"Hunk, Hunk come on!" Lance exclaimed but it was no use he was beginning to feel the heat as well. In the Red lion Keith was mustering what strength he had to stay awake yelling to keep pushing forward but soon he was beginning to yield to the heat as sweat dropped from his face.
"Its been an honour serving with you boys." Keith breathed.
From the Castle of Lions everyone present could only watch in horror as Voltron held the line at the expense of the Paladins.
"Paladins, come in!" Allura exclaimed "PALADINS!" Allura cried with tears in her eyes. Kristof was worried too he knew Anna was in there with Elsa he knew they couldn't last very long and was deeply concerned for Anna.
In the Black Lion, Shiro was beginning to yield from the heat as well even though it was slowing the freezing process he couldn't stand the heat. Elsa was feeling the heat too she collapsed to the ground and saw Shiro was loosing consciousness. She knew this maybe it, she placed her hand on Shiro's right hand holding the flight stick. Voltron was nearly loosing ground and the torrent got ever closer to Arendelle and the civilians held their children close.
Suddenly as all hope was fading Elsa heard something, she turned to see the Black Lions Bayard port opening slowly until fully exposed. She didn't understand what this meant it was like the lion was trying to tell her something. Shiro was nearly knocked out and she didn't know what to do. A light then shined and she looked at her hand, her magic was swirling round her right hand and the ice was beginning to form a shape and when it finished the shape it took was that of a Bayard.
Elsa was awestruck by this wondering how she did it, but as she looked to the open port all became clear. She summoned whatever strength she had left and yelled as she thrusted the Bayard into the open port and with one twist the whole cockpit was engulfed in a bright light and Voltron was encased in it as well. The light sent out a shock wave which pushed the beast back and the shockwave burnt the Robeast as it was ice that burned it.
Everyone looked at the bright light and Allura was awestruck with bewilderment as did Kristof. Far from a distance The stone trolls could see the white light from their sanctuary and wondered what it could be.
The dawn began to break and the sun rose to reveal the battle ground.
The light soon took the shape of Voltron and faded to reveal him but looking entirely different. He now bore armour comprised of ice it resembled that which a knight would wear into battle. He had shoulder pads similar to that of the plate on the green lions back only larger and more curved, his chest was encased in a chest plate with a snowflake on the front with a glowing white Paladin symbol in the middle his waist had three pointed waist pads on the front and back, his legs had been coated with armour exposing the Yellow and Blue lions faces the same was said of the green and red lions. The head of the Black lion had a helmet on that resembled that of a lions mane his wings were different and they looked a lot like a snowflake.
He hovered in place and tilted his head to reveal bright glowing ice blue eyes. Inside the cockpits the Paladins and their friends were regaining consciousness.
"Wha- what happened?" Anna breathed from the Green Lion.
"We're- we're alive." Lance breathed from Blue.
"Whats happened to Voltron?" Keith asked in Red.
"Allura are you seeing this!" Shiro breathed from the Black Lion.
In the Castle Allura, Coran, Kristof, Kolivan and Reyner could indeed see everything. "Yes we can see it Shiro." Allura breathed.
"Incredible… I..it looks like armour comprised of Elsa's ice but how?" Coran breathed.
In the Black Lion, Shiro looked to see a Bayard made from ice in the open port he then turned to the person who could've created it. "I.. I don't know how I.." Elsa breathed. Suddenly their attention was directed to the Fire Robeast who lets out a roar as it prepares another torrent.
"YOU WILL BURN!" It growled.
And fired the torrent at Voltron which hit him. Everyone looked in horror to see that their defender was engulfed in flames. However the flames died down to reveal Voltron was still standing and his wings had formed a shield in the shape of a snowflake. Much to their amazement the ice didn't melt or was even damaged. Everyone was shocked especially Coran and Reyner.
"Wha- how the!" Kristof breathed Reyner looked at the scans and made an astonishing discovery. "Amazing some how the armour isn't just ice but its comprised of the ore that Voltron is made of!" She relayed.
"Huh Ice that doesn't melt, thats a new one!" Lance said.
"ICE ARMOURED VOLTRON SWEET!" Hunk exclaimed. However Shiro was still feeling weak and Elsa looked in horror as she could see he was beginning to turn to ice on his hands.
"Shiro?" She breathed.
"I'll be alright."Shiro dismissed.
"No you won't your turning to ice!" She said "Elsa I'll be…"
"TAKASHI!" Elsa snapped interrupting Shiro who was shivering "please".
"Shiro shes right if you keep going you'll freeze!" Anna agreed.
"I'll be alright, one way or another we're taking down this Robeast and we're making sure the Galra can never attack here again! Okay team, ATTACK!" He exclaimed dismissing what Elsa had just said.
Voltron charged into battle and the Robeast fired another torrent of fire at him but Voltron deflected with his ice shield and charged forward "CHAARRRGGE!" The Paladins and their friends yelled!
Voltron threw a punch at the Robeast which threw it back, Fire Robeast forged his hands into maces and attacked swinging continuously at Voltron and he blocked every swing with his shield. Keith thrusted his flight stick forwards and the Red lion roared as it let loose a beam but instead of fire it was white and it hit the robeast in the arm causing it to roar in pain.
"Whoa thats new!" Keith breathed.
"We've got ice powers!" Anna exclaimed.
"Now we have something this thing hates!" Lance smirked from his lion. The Robeast recovered from its pain and swung its molten maces at Voltron who moved to avoid them and blocked another attack with his shield.
"TAKE THIS!" Pidge exclaimed thrusting her flight stick forward and fired an ice beam from the mouth of the Green Lion hitting him in the chest It was weakened but fired a torrent of fire from its left hand. Voltron jumped to the left and tossed his shield at the creature like a Frisbee slicing the creature across the chest.
"COME AND GET SOME!" Hunk yelled thrusting his Bayard into the port, and instead of one, twin shoulder cannons formed on Voltron's shoulders they were yellow, white and coated in ice armour too. They fired a flurry of laser blasts at the Fire Robeast hitting it in the arms, legs, chest and head. The beast was getting weaker but decided to continue fighting it generated fire balls in its hands and threw them into the fjord and developed five more fire golems which roared with ever-burning flames.
Voltron's shield wings returned to him and stood ready for battle.
"FOR ARENDELLE!" Keith yelled, as he slammed his Bayard into the port. Voltron brought his hands together surging with energy however when he pulled them apart he didn't form the sword but a double pointed blade in the shape of a snowflake stalk, glowing with energy.
The giant charged forward at the golems with his spear at the ready. He stabs one golem about to attack in the chest and it freezes him to the core turning to ice and shattering to pieces. The other Golems attack and Voltron charges in swinging his double blade like a bo staff and slashes through the golems one by one who turn to ice and shatter like glass. After defeating the final golem Voltron points his ice blade at the Fire Robeast and fired a beam of ice dead in the monsters chest.
The monster groaned but suddenly began to glow with heat and the armour begins to crack. In the castle everyone sees some worrying signs from the holo consoles.
"Whats happening?" Kristof asked.
"We're picking up high radiation levels from the Robeast!" Allura said from her station.
"Paladins come in!" Coran cried "The Robeast is.." "We know!" Pidge interrupted him.
Pidge looked at her holo console in the lion and saw the levels of energy coming from the Robeast. "The Robeast's heat is rising its going critical!" Pidge analysed.
"We've got at least 30 minutes before it goes super nova!" Hunk added. Anna was concerned she knew what was coming next as did her elder sister in the Black Lion.
"We have to do something!" Elsa exclaimed. Shiro took a moment to think, however the ice was slowly forming on his skin he breathed out cold air.
"P-Pidge is there a way?" He shivered. Pidge heard how Shiro sounded but took a moment to think.
"There maybe a way." Pidge finally said "If we took the Robeast to a high enough altitude then it'll be able to explode freely without causing any damage."
"She's right" Coran said looking at the holo console. "You need to take it to beyond the upper atmosphere, it'll explode but won't destroy the kingdom or the planet." He then confirmed.
However Hunk had some concerns about this plan. "Yeah but, theres a chance we'll get caught in the blastwave, we may not survive it." He said worried. The other Paladins looked with concern as it would mean sacrificing themselves. Pidge looked to Anna who was worried and so was Elsa as Shiro looked to her.
"Well." Lance finally said "If we're going out, we might as well go out with a bang." Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Elsa, you and your sister better get out of here." Shiro said.
"What!" Anna called over the comm "No way we're not leaving you!" Anna said.
"No we won't" Elsa surprisingly agreed. "I'm not leaving your side I'm staying here!" she then said taking Shiro's frozen hand and in Green Anna stood by Pidge.
"Okay." Shiro said, "But get to the speeder bay below when inside you'll be safe." Shiro said "Anna you too." He then said to Anna.
With that Elsa went out the door from the cockpit of the Black Lion and Anna did the same in Green and found their way to the speeders in the centre of the lions. They boarded them and waited.
Shiro could see Elsa from the cockpit and closed his eyes in regret he knew what had to be done. He hit several symbols on the console bringing up the speeder.
"I'm sorry." He breathed.
He hit the button on the console and suddenly Elsa saw the cockpit seal up, she was surprised. The speeder surged into life and sped right out of the open door with Elsa screaming. At the same time in the Green Lion the same thing happened to Anna. The speeders flew from the chests of the Green and Black Lions and they headed for Arendelle. Pidge looked at them escape and all the while she had a lone tear in her eye as she was saying goodbye to her 'sister'
In the Castle of Lions the sensors detected the two speeders leaving Voltron and saw inside the cockpits Anna and Elsa.
"Anna and Elsa they're in the speeders the Paladins must've ejected them!" Allura exclaimed.
"What does that mean?!" Kristof hastily asked.
"They're going into battle alone." Kolivan deduced.
From the cockpit of the green speeder, Anna slammed on the glass of the cockpit. "NO! NO! PIDGE! GUYS DON'T DO THIS!" She cried with tears streaming from her eyes. A com line opened and it was the Paladins.
"We don't have a choice Anna, we have to do this." Pidge said.
"But you could die!" Elsa pleaded.
"We know, but at least Arendelle will live to see a new sunrise." Keith said.
"Yes and you'll be safe this is our fight." Shiro said shivering.
"Shiro please, I can't lose you again!" Elsa said with tears streaming down her face.
"Elsa" Shiro said. "No matter what happens, I will always be with you." He said."We all will." Elsa looked with teary eyes as if she was losing a loved one all over was in that moment Shiro cut the communication line.
"SHHHIIIIIRRRROOOOO!" She cried as the Speeders approached Arendelle.
As Shiro turned back to the battle a lone tear ran down his face but his expression turned back to determination. "Alright team, are you with me!?" Shiro said to his team and brothers.
"YEAH!" They all replied in determined voices. The Black Paladin gripped the flight sticks tight as he got colder and colder.
"Then….LETS FINISH THIS!" He exclaimed as he and the Paladins thrusted the flight sticks of their lions forward. Voltrons eyes glow bright and with his leg jets charged forwards towards the overloading Robeast. The beast charges towards Voltron, but he grabs him in his arms and launches into the sky.
The speeders land at the harbour, Elsa and Anna quickly exit them and hurry to the edge of the harbour and saw the jet stream going higher and higher into the sky the two of them felt so helpless seeing those they love their new found family make such a sacrifice. The Kingdom populace and the Blades saw this as they arrived at the harbour.
Voltron was ascending higher and higher into the sky and the Robeast kept hitting him to force him to let him go but it was no good Voltron held on tight and the fire in the beast grew brighter and brighter and more cracks developed in the armour. Soon they were beyond the stratosphere of the planet they burned as they exited the atmosphere Voltron tosses the Robeast into the lifeless void of space.
"GRRRRYAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" The Paladins yelled as with all their strength, spirit and their lions strength Voltron let loose one last blast of Ice lasers and blasted the Robeast beyond the atmosphere and as it reached critical mass it began to burst with flame and energy it cried out in pain as it was being pulled apart by the overload and it was Han's scream.
The Robeast exploded in a plume of light and Voltron was engulfed by the light. Far below the explosion of light could be seen. Everyone shielded their eyes from the explosion. The light died down and they looked to see rubble falling from the sky.
"They're- they're…" Anna said with tears in her eyes.
"No, no please no…" Elsa said with tears."Not again…no." She collapsed to her knees and sobbed in grief and tears streaming from her eyes. Anna knelt down beside her and embraced her in a sympathetic hug.
They were soon joined by Allura, Reyner, Coran, Kristof, Olaf and Sven with the mice riding him. They could only look to the two sisters in grief and sadness. Allura looked down in grief almost as if she had lost her family all over again while Coran all but embraced her in a comforting hug. Kristof was rather saddened as was Sven their friends were gone, Olaf looked to everyone in sadness and Kolivan with the Blades could only close their eyes and remember the Paladins sacrifice with honour. The people of the kingdom were all saddened by grief and loss, the five heroes who swore to defend them had saved them but at the cost of their own lives.
The entire Kingdom of Arendelle fell to solum silence and the sobs of the queen was the only sound that could be heard.
Then suddenly, a light emerged from above the kingdom to many it appeared to be the rising sun breaking through the cloud banks. However, when Olaf looked up to the sky he saw something coming down to the fjord and gasped. Sven then nudged Kristofs arm and he looked up to the sky in surprise, and soon did Allura, Coran, Reyner, and the rest of the kingdom populace.
Anna then looked up to the sky and saw a light in the sky with wide eyes. "Elsa" She breathed "Look."
Elsa lifted her head up and looked to the sky, her eyes widened and saw five glowing orbs coming down from the sky and landing in the harbour. The light died down to reveal four shadowed figures emerge from the light. Everyone couldn't make them out at first but as they stepped forwards they were seen clearly and when they were everyones eyes swelled with happiness.
For the figures were Keith, Lance, Hunk and Pidge standing before the five Voltron lions with no ice armour. Keith stood with a slight smirk on his face, Lance had a look of confidence, Pidge smiled with a slight tear in her eye, and Hunk stood proud. Anna looked to see her friends alive and well with tears in her eyes with joy as she ran to them as did Kristof, Sven, Olaf, Allura and Coran. Everyone began to cheer for their saviours.
The Paladins greeted their friends and loved ones. Anna and Pidge shared a hug in tears of joy, while Kristof was giving Hunk a noogie Sven all but licked Lance's face to which he laughed. Olaf waisted no time jumping on Keith and giving him a hug, to which he hesitantly returned with a slight smile. All the while they were congratulated by the kingdoms populace and the castle guards.
However, the only face that looked less happy was a certain Ice Queen. While she was relived that her friends were okay she couldn't help but notice the absence of one certain Paladin. She looked down in grief as she had to face reality of what happened to him, she knew he was gone. Then out of nowhere a hand appeared on her left shoulder. She was startled and when she turned round her eyes went wide with shock. It was a smiling Shiro, not frozen but alive and quite well.
Her eyes swelled up with tears and waisted no time embracing him in a hug which he was all but happy to return. Everyone present could only look at this heart warming scene and then the five lions lead by their alpha let out an ear splitting roar like the pride they were. After a minute of hugging Shiro and Elsa broke away.
"Your..how?" Elsa stuttered as she wiped away a tear.
"I don't know" Shiro said "One minute I'm freezing to a statue then I'm warm again." He added.
"I think I know." a certain snowman then said. "Because and act of true love will thaw a frozen heart." He said cheerfully, to which the two then blushed.
"I believe Olaf is right." Anna then said. "When Shiro sent us away he did it as an act of sacrifice to save a loved one." she then explained "Just like I did."
"Sounds like a fairy tale." Lance then said.
"Yeah…so, what do we do about our… winter battle ground?" Hunk then pointed out as the fjord and most of the shore was frozen in ice from the battle.
Elsa knew what she had to do and so walked towards the edge of the harbour and raised her hands and a giant snowflake miraculously appeared below her and the snow from the fjord began to rise into the air much to the surprise of the Blades, Alteans and Paladins who took of their helmets and Pidge put her glasses back on.
The snow continued to rise into the air the water flowed and trees began to bloom once again until it created a giant snowflake in the sky. Elsa brought her hands together then spread them out dispersing the snowflake in the air.
"Whoa!" Lance breathed while Coran's jaw dropped like a twelve ton anvil and his pupils were shrunk, Allura could only look in amazement as could Kolivan and Reyner.
"Magnificent" Reyner said in amazement.
"Truly this world is full of surprises." Kolivan said simply with an impressed smile. Shiro then walked up beside the ice queen.
"Why you thought that was a curse I'll never know." Shiro cracked to which Elsa shoved his arm.
"You all fought like true Paladins today my friends" Allura addressed the Paladins. "I can't tell you how proud I am of each and everyone of you."
"Its okay Allura we can take it." Said Lance in a cocky manner.
"She's not wrong guys." Kristof then said. "Yeah you guys really did earn the name Deffenders of the Universe today." Anna agreed.
"Yeah, yeah we saved the universe again" Lance listed as they'd been though this many times. "Now I don't know about you guys but I say we celebrate!" He then cheered.
"You know Lance, thats actually a good idea." Keith agreed, to which everyone else nodded. So with that the heroes headed into the kingdom to celebrate their victory as the lions gave off one last roar of victory.
Authors notes: Whew that was one heck of a battle, but now the fight is over, and the Paladins have won! Now during the early production of this story I decided it would be a good idea to have Elsa some how make a Bayard using her powers said Bayard would then be used to give Voltron Ice powers and armour to match that integrates some of the ore he's made from. The Bayard's power would also affect the weapons that Voltron has such as the duel shoulder cannons and the double ended sword.
The mystery of how Elsa's powers could generate this feat may yet be explained in later stories (hint hint)
