And here's the second chapter of the batch.

As I'm sure you all remember, this one is going to be a bit more calm than others, but, because it's a more relaxed chapter, we decided to turn it into a bit of a reference.

You'll see what I mean soon enough.

Enjoy!

The Digimon School's Exciting Day!

"If my calculations are right, the Forest Terminal should be right across this Savannah," Bokomon said.

"That's great and all but there's one problem with that," Pierce said a bit dryly.

"Hm?" Bokomon blinked.

"We're in the middle of a field of sunflowers. How is this a 'Savannah'?" he deadpanned.

"Oh that's just details." Bokomon waved off.

"Yeah, well, here's another detail…" Jaune started "GET OFF MY HEAD!" he shouted and tossed Bokomon off his head.

Bokomon let out a muffled shout as he landed face first in the dirt, before pulling his head up and spitting out the dirt "So stingy."

"I'll show you stingy!" Jaune said before he started chasing around Bokomon.

"Man… little guy thinks real highly of himself." Nora laughed.

"Indeed he does." Ren sighed.

"Let's not squabble right now," Pyrrha sighed, to which Jaune and Bokomon stopped.

"Yeah, you're right. We need to find our way to the Forest Terminal," Jaune nodded.

"First things first we should probably find our way out of this Sunflower patch. We're never going to see where we are with all of these surrounding us," Ren said, earning nods of agreement.

Right as he said that though, the nearby greenery shook...and a small figure darted out, revealing to be a small orange...puffball...with a horn growing out of its forehead.

The group blinked, looking at the small Digimon in confusion, and said Digimon suddenly realised he was in the middle of the large group and looked up at them with wide eyes… before something else darted out of the sunflowers with a shout of "Gotcha!"

Said something grabbed hold of the Digimon by the horn. With the something being… a human boy.

He had tanned skin, messy and spiky blonde hair with dark grey eyes, and was wearing a white tank top with some blue jean shorts, all in his size… and there was a hole at the back of the jeans for a blonde monkey tail to come out of… so clearly not human, but rather, faunus instead.

"You ain't getting away anymore little guy!" the blonde monkey boy grinned.

"Yeah! Way to go Sun!" came a voice from up above, making most of the group look up to see a dark gray and blue Digimon that looked somewhat like a bat with a skull on his forehead and large feet that had red claws.

Though, while most of the group was looking at the Digimon, Pierce was staring at the boy, specifically, at his monkey tail. Staring as it swished lightly to and fro, his brow twitching at the sight.

"Uh...you okay there, Pierce?" Jaune blinked, noticing Pierce's twitching brow.

"Oh I'm fine. I'm just wondering if I'm the only one seeing the fully functioning tail," Pierce deadpanned.

"...I don't get it," Jaune blinked. "I mean, nothing strange about a Faunus. Sides, Blake's one too. She just has cat ears instead of a tail."

Pierce stopped at that, and the others were wondering if he was alright, until… "THOSE WERE REAL?!"

"...what's his problem?" the monkey faunus blinked, more confused than anything.

"What the flying fuck?" Pierce kept muttering on repeat while walking, as he tried to wrap his head around the existence of Remnant. Though… the other kids were also trying to wrap their heads around Earth, but they weren't doing as bad as Pierce was.

"So...think he's gonna be okay?" the monkey faunus who'd introduced himself as Sun Wukong asked.

"He'll be fine. Right after he gets over that existential crisis," the Digimon that had been accompanying him, DemiDevimon snickered into his wing. "Still, it's pretty cool if you ask me that there are two worlds that humans come from."

Digimon Analyzer: DemiDevimon

DemiDevimon. Virus Type. A Mini Devil Digimon. A small Digimon who acts as a familiar to far more powerful Digimon, yet also embodies the traits of an evil Digimon, being cunning and cruel… in most cases at least. It's rarely seen on its own, as it likes to avoid direct combat. Its special attack is Demi Dart, firing a syringe that turns data to stone, and if it hits a Digimon (or human) will drain their blood.

"It is pretty cool...minus all the bad stuff going on there," Nora said, wincing a bit at the idea that even the air was starting to slowly become toxic. No wonder Gyro and Pierce were so...tense...all the time.

"So uh...why WERE you chasing Tsunomon?" Jaune asked, looking at the still struggling Tsunomon.

"Oh him? This little rascal tried to skip school, and the teacher asked me to help catch him," Sun chuckled.

"School?" the group blinked.

"Yeah, it's a school for young Digimon, it's right over there," Sun said, right as they cleared the sunflowers which opened up to a large hill...and they saw a small building in the grasslands well into the distance.

"Close to the Forest Terminal, eh?" the Warriors shot Bokomon a mildly annoyed look, causing him to sweat drop and chuckle awkwardly.

"Forest Terminal? Oh, right, that thing the voice said I should do if I want to go home." Sun said, pulling out his Scroll "Sounded like a guy a bit, but not sure." he mused, putting his Scroll away "I haven't really focused on it too much. I met DemiDevimon a bit after getting here, and then we've just been exploring this crazy place."

"Though we toned down the crazy explorations when we met the kid." DemiDevimon said.

"The kid?" Jaune repeated with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, this younger kid, he's like, what, 7 maybe? I found him with this other Digimon and they've just been trying to get him home since he's completely lost." Sun explained.

"So there's another person with you?" Pyrrha mused.

"Wonder why you don't have one of these though," Nora said, pulling out her Digivice.

"What's that?" Sun blinked.

"It USED to be our Scrolls," Ren sighed at his childhood friend's antics. "Though I can't say I'm surprised we're the only ones with them."

"Why's that?" Jaune blinked.

"There are supposed to only be 10 Legendary Warriors. Do the math," Pierce groused a bit, still a little irritable from having the figurative rug pulled out from under him.

Sun blinked, looking at them for a few moments "There's only 5 of you though."

"That's because we were separated from the other 5, and they're off somewhere at the moment." Pyrrha explained.

Meanwhile…

"STOP WITH THE DAMN LOOPS!" Gyro shouted while hitting one of the ToyAgumon upside the head as they were doing a loop de loop in the air.

"Friendly place," Jaune chuckled as the little Digimon present at the school were singing a welcome song for them.

"They're pretty cute too," Pyrrha chuckled.

"Try saying that when you need to help keep them under control," Sun snorted in amusement. "These little rascals could run circles around you."

"Hmm… a bit of a unique group for sure." Bokomon said, pointing at each Digimon as he named them all "Koromon, Yokomon, Tanemon, Tokomon, Bukamon, Nyaromon, Motimon, Minomon, DemiVeemon and Tsunomon."

"Thank you again for going to bring back Tsunomon...again," the teacher, a Digimon called Taomon said with a slight sigh.

Digimon Analyzer: Taomon

Taomon. Data Type. A Demon Man Digimon. Her appearance isn't just for show, as she fights usings talismans and spells like a true Onmyouji. She is a master of hidden weaponry, concealing everything in her long sleeves, and is said to carry a small army of Shikigami with her everywhere she goes. Her special attacks are Bonhitsusen, chanting an incantation while writing a character in the air with a giant brush, hurling it at the opponent and catching them in a giant explosion, and Kofusatsu, trapping her enemy with a flurry of talismans like a mummy before blowing them up… talk about a pyromaniac. We sure she should be teaching kids?

"It's nice to see more people from Remnant too," came the boy that Sun talked about, he had tan skin with freckles with short black hair that curled a bit, his eyes a bit of a mix of apple green and amber, and he was wearing brown overalls with a messy white shirt, along with boots that looked just a bit too big for him "I'm Oscar, nice to meet you." he introduced himself with a big grin.

"We're hoping to get Oscar here back home as soon as we can, but stopping like this every now and then is nice too," came a Digimon that stood by Oscar's side, a short dragon with purple fur and small bat-like wings on his back, as well as a red crystal shaped like an upside down triangle on his forehead. "The name's Dorumon by the way, nice to meet ya."

Digimon Analyzer: Dorumon

Dorumon. Data Type. A Beast Digimon. A Digimon believed to be an experimental Prototype Digimon from the dawn of the Digital World due to the old-type interface on his forehead. There are many rumors surrounding this Digimon, of being able to attain mythical power once thought only possible in dreams. Special attack is Metal Cannon, firing iron balls from his mouth… he certainly sounds like a real wild card.

With introductions done...and with everyone now present for class, school was in session. The classes were...honestly pretty mundane. Not that different from what they'd expect back in their own worlds. It wasn't long before they moved into storytelling class and things got a little bit interesting.

"For today's class, I'd like to ask one of our guests to share a story with us," Taomon said. "Hm...how about...Pyrrha. Would you mind sharing a story from your world with the class?"

Pyrrha blinked, suddenly being put on the spot like that "Um… I suppose I can… oh! I know a good one." she said as she came up to the front of the class "This is a classic story from Remnant, known as The Four Maidens." she said, before clearing her throat.

"Centuries ago, Deep in the forests of Remnant, beside a great and mighty river, stood the small, fragile home of a cold, frail man- a lone wizard.

Hidden from the dangers and distractions of the world, the wizard seldom had visitors. But on this day, as he peered out his window, his gaze fell upon a young maiden.

Calmly, she sat beneath his tree in a state of absolute tranquility. When the wizard demanded an explanation, the maiden simply replied, "My name is Winter. I am on a journey, and I am waiting for my sisters."

With that, she closed her eyes and sat in silence.

The wizard told himself the girl was a fool, but the longer she sat, the more he wished to share in the serenity the young maiden enjoyed. In time, he grew tired and decided to close his eyes as well, thinking on this strange predicament.

Upon opening his eyes, the wizard was befuddled to find that a second maiden appeared beneath his tree, cheerful and spry, with a basket of fruit and flowers.

When he asked for an explanation, the girl simply replied,

"My name is Spring. I am on a journey, and I am waiting for my sisters."

To show her gratitude for his reluctant hospitality, the girl retrieved a handful of seeds from her basket and planted them in the wizard's garden.

The old hermit could hardly believe his eyes as the maiden turned what was once a mere pile of dirt and manure into a beautiful garden, from which life would surely blossom.

It's likely he would have gazed for hours, were it not for the unfamiliar laughter he heard from beneath his tree.

A young woman with a warm smile now stood beside the two maidens.

The wizard begged her to introduce herself, to which she happily responded,

"My name is Summer. I am on a journey, and I am waiting for my sister."

"Of course," thought the wizard. But another chirp of laughter left the old man perplexed.

What in the world was so funny?

As it turned out, it was him. The new arrival found the wizard's insistence on staying indoors so very amusing.

Why choose to view the world through a small window when the door leading out to it was right at his side?

It was a compelling argument. And after only a moment of brief hesitation, the wizard left his home -

- and stepped outside.

The warmth of the sun brought with it a surge of energy and life, and soon the wizard wasn't feeling much like himself anymore.

He was feeling much better.

As the day drew to a close, the maidens and the wizard all settled down and prepared a feast.

Winter set the table. Spring supplied the crops, Summer prepped the meal, and the wizard was the happiest he'd been in ages.

But in all the excitement, he nearly failed to notice the delicate woman that now stood beneath his tree.

He smiled, and beckoned her to join them, asking only for her name.

"My name is Fall," she replied softly. "I am on a journey, and am here to meet my sisters. Who are you?"

"Me?", the wizard wondered. "Well, I am but an old hermit - I have lived in these woods alone for centuries and I'm afraid my story is not very interesting, as I have no one to love and nothing to my name."

The elder sister looked up at all that surrounded them.

"But sir, do you not see? You have so much."

It was true. With their help, it was now clear to see that the wizard had everything he could ever need. He was grateful, but a question lingered in his mind.

"Why me?", he asked. "Why did the four of you choose to open my eyes? To share with me your gifts? Why am I so special?"

The four sisters looked to one another, perplexed. Finally, the eldest spoke.

"I beg your pardon sir, but we did not do these things for you because you were special. We do what we can for everyone, because we are able."

The old wizard was at a loss. Never in his years had he come across such kindness. It was in that moment that he knew what should be done.

The wizard summoned his magic, every ounce he could muster, and bestowed it upon the sisters.

He smiled. "Take this gift, and know now that you are able to do so much more."

Now armed with the elements, the very powers of nature, and the unimaginable magic of the wizard, the four maidens, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, promised to carry on with their journey, using their gifts to aid others, just as they aided him.

One by one, the sisters left. Before they did, they made one final promise.

They promised to return each and every year, to visit their dear friend."

The class was silent...before they were all cheering happily, having clearly enjoyed the story.

"That was a wonderful story. Thank you, Pyrrha," Taomon smiled. "Class I think we can all learn something from a story like this."

"We should always help people in need!" DemiVeemon said.

"You can always find something new!" Bukamon said.

"Everyone's better when they're together!" Koromon cheered, followed by several other various answers which were all generally positive.

Taomon nodded with a pleased smile. "Very good. I'm sure all of you will grow up to be fine Digimon if you keep such lessons close to heart."

After that came break time, where the Digimon all went outside to play, and the kids decided to join in a bit… well, most of them at least. Pierce and Ren both preferred to sit on the side and just relax in the sun.

Nora meanwhile was playing wrestling with some of the Digimon… and said Digimon were jumping on her back after Nyaromon slapped her face with her tail a few times, with Nora playing dead.

When Nora looked up though, she blinked in confusion, seeing Tsunomon just hopping around on a large rock, away from the group. "Come on, play with us, we don't have a player limit," Nora said, while the Digimon on her back were cheering in agreement. Tsunomon however looked at them for a moment...before turning around and hopping away. "...was it something I said?" Nora blinked.

"Sorry about that, Tsunomon's always like that," Tokomon said apologetically. "He's actually a nice Mon, but he likes to keep to himself all the time."

"It got worse recently though." Koromon frowned "Before he'd at least talk to us, but now he's keeping all to himself and even trying to run away all the time."

"That's...kinda worrying," Jaune frowned, having been close enough to hear. "Anything we can do to help?"

"Unless you can find out what's been bothering him, I can't think of any way to help," Motimon said.

"Then guess we should find out," Nora said.

"Not that easy," Pyrrha frowned.

"Yeah, unless you go and ask him till he says something, I doubt we'll get much," DemiVeemon said, not noticing the bright look Nora just got. The other warriors and Remnantians though did.

"...you're gonna bug him all day till he tells you, aren't you?" they deadpanned.

"Will you tell me now?" Nora asked.

"No!" Tsunomon said in annoyance.

"Will you tell me now?" Nora repeated a few seconds later.

"I said no!" Tsunomon growled...and Nora basically kept repeating the question which she'd been doing...for the last 5 minutes. She wanted to know why he was always keeping his distance...and making it painfully clear she wasn't accepting no for an answer. Of course Tsunomon wasn't willing to give in that easily, so he went for the only option he had left. He ran.

"Ah! Hold up!" Nora said as she started chasing after him, but Tsunomon was surprisingly fast as he ran into the nearby small wooded area.

"Ah… that's just great. I lost him." Nora sighed as she looked around, trying to see him… and then she stopped when she heard something.

It sounded like… music?

A… harmonica even?

Slowly, she followed the sound, actually trying her best to be quiet for once. The tune felt somewhat… melancholy honestly.

Continuing to follow it, she soon managed to find the source, which… surprised her.

It was a yellow reptile looking Digimon with a blue and pink mark on its belly, a horn on the forehead, and wearing a white and blue fur pelt that looked like it came from a wolf of sorts, and it was playing the harmonica.

"Uh...excuse me?" Nora said, catching the Digimon's attention. "Have you seen a little guy run by here? Orange puffball with a horn growing out of his head?" she asked.

The Digimon wordlessly pointed in a direction. "Right, thanks," Nora nodded as she soon went in that direction, though for some reason she had an odd feeling as she went past the Digimon...and purposely hid behind a tree right when it seemed she'd left.

"Glad she's gone," the Digimon sighed, and while the voice sounded a bit older, it was still similar enough.

"Aha!" Nora said, jumping out from behind the tree.

"AH!" the Digimon rolled back, startled… and in it's shock it glowed as it reverted to Tsunomon.

"Knew it! So that WAS you!" Nora grinned "So… what was that? An Evolution?"

Tsunomon sighed, knowing the jig was up "Yeah… it's getting rarer and rarer nowadays for Digimon to evolve normally, so it's a bit uncommon for mon my age to manage it… but I did." he said "Though… I kinda feel bad for actually being able to."

Nora tilted her head in confusion "Why's that?"

"Because none of the others can evolve yet, but I can turn into Gabumon. I don't want to make them feel bad or something like that." Tsunomon sighed.

Nora just stared at him for a long moment, until... "Well that's stupid." she said bluntly.

"Hey!" Tsunomon snapped at her.

"I mean… aren't they your friends? Wouldn't they be happy that you evolved?" she said with a shrug.

Tsunomon looked like he wanted to argue...but the argument died in his throat seeing as...she DID make a good point.

"Come on, let's go back. The others will get worried," Nora said.

"We're only here cause you kept pushing," Tsunomon pointed out. "But thanks," he chuckled slightly.

When they were about to head back however, they both felt something cold fall on them, making them look up as the rain soon started to fall "Huh… guess the rest of the day will be indoors." Nora noted.

Tsunomon was about to agree, before he stopped, remembering something "Wait… oh no!" he said, before running off.

"Hey! Hold up!" Nora shouted as chased him, though he didn't go far, only going through the field of sunflowers until he reached the river she and the others had been cruising down earlier that day… and the waters were raging now "Woah…"

"The water level's higher than normal… Ms. Taomon once told us that some years ago, something just like this happened and the river washed away the school, they had to rebuild it after that." Tsunomon informed.

"Oh… ah crap!" Nora gasped in understanding "We gotta hurry then!" she said, taking out her Digivice "Spirit Evolution!" she shouted, her body being covered by the cocoon of data, before she emerged "Blitzmon! Come on, let's go!" she said, picking up Tsunomon who was looking at her in awe while thunder started rolling in the sky, with Nora flying back as fast as she could towards the school.

They soon reached the school and saw that everyone was understandably tense from the storm. "There you are Tsunomon!" Taomon gasped. "Thank you for finding him, but did you happen to see a human girl with orange hair too? We need to get everyone inside quickly!"

"You're looking at her." Blitzmon answered.

"W-what?" Taomon gasped in surprise.

"Look, there's no time to explain, Tsunomon said the river is about to overflow, and the school's gonna be swept away again!" she said seriously.

Taomon's eyes widened at that "Then we need to get everyone onto the roof! Now!"

"We'll help!" Jaune said as he and the other Warriors ran outside and soon transformed as well, while Sun and Oscar looked on with dropped jaws, though the younger boy also had stars in his eyes.

"So cool…" he said in awe.

"Okay, we all agree that we can't let the water get to the school, right?" Arbormon said as they were standing a good distance from the school, enough so that they could be ready to act.

"That's for sure. If the water hits then it'll be destroyed, and the kids will get swept away with it." Gnomemon pointed out.

"So we need to make a plan to divert the water flow then." Lowemon said, holding his chin in thought.

"Maybe an ice wall?" Chackmon suggested, holding up his hand, and as water droplets passed through they turned into frozen droplets.

"No, if the water is really that strong, it'll just push the ice wall forward and then even more stuff will get destroyed." Arbormon said with a shake of his torso.

"I have an idea." Blitzmon said, earning their attention "It'll take all of us… but I think it can work."

The others looked surprised at this, before nodding, ready to hear her plan.

Minutes later…

"You know… this might actually work." Lowemon said as he reviewed their plan, looking at the area around the school.

First, Blitzmon had grabbed one of the boulders that was used for soccer games as a goal, and placed in the spot where the water would arrive from, thus dividing the flow of water in half. Next, Gnomemon had dug up a trench that went around the school and flowed into the savanna behind it. Arbormon then controlled the plants around the edges of those trenches and made them grow up and act as higher walls to prevent the water from getting too high and spilling into the school. Chackmon then added his ice in, freezing the plants to harden them inside of an ice wall, making sure the water wouldn't just push them down. As for himself, he was going to be helping Blitzmon keep the boulder in place.

"Glad to see you optimistic for once." Arbormon chuckled.

"Eh, blame Earth for making me pessimistic." Lowemon shrugged "Anyway, all that's left now is waiting for the water to arrive."

"Sun and Taomon also finished getting everyone on the roof, just in case something goes wrong, and Chackmon and Gnomemon reinforced the walls of the school with a mix of their elements." Arbormon added.

"Okay, so for now everyone hold your ground!" Lowemon said, earning nods of agreement. So far things were going well. The flow of the water was being kept away from the school and everyone was accounted for. Unfortunately, the universe liked to throw little curve balls. Like the logs that washed up from somewhere, and ended up launched towards the school.

"Oh no, the logs!" Gnomemon gasped, right before several talismans hit the logs, destroying them.

"Don't worry about us! I'll protect the school!" Taomon said as she destroyed the logs that came their way, but more were coming, and well...she couldn't get ALL of them.

A few of the logs that got through her range were headed straight for the school, and if she tried using her attacks on them she risked catching the school in the blast.

Seeing the logs coming, Tsunomon didn't think. He just moved. Before he knew it he was leaping towards the logs and in mid-air felt himself trigger his Evolution into Gabumon, before spearing the log in front of him with his horn while shooting down a few of them with his Petit Fire. However even so there were more than he could stop. "I can't stop them all…" he gasped as he tried his best….until suddenly several more lights appeared...and the logs were being shot down like crazy as a myriad of attacks flew through the air, destroying them one after another. "Wha…?" he blinked as he turned around and saw that...everyone else had Evolved too.

Gabumon just stared at all his friends in surprise, as where once stood a gaggle of Baby Digimon, was now a small group of Child Digimon: Agumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, Gomamon, Palmon, Patamon, Salamon, Veemon and Wormmon.

"Guys… you can evolve too?" he said in surprise.

"I was, uh… gonna say the same thing…" Agumon admitted with an awkward chuckle.

"Same here…" Biyomon added, shuffling her feet, and the others all confirmed the same thing.

"Wait… all of you kids could evolve, but none of you actually ever bothered saying anything?" DemiDevimon asked in deadpan.

"That's what it looks like, yes." Dorumon sighed.

"If we didn't have more logs coming this is the part where I laugh at the biggest joke I've heard all day," DemiDevimon said, bringing their attention to another round of logs, which this time the Warriors could cut down since the water was starting to get more under control.

"Right, we'll sort out this later. Save the school now," Gabumon said as they all continued to work together to protect the school.

"So...basically we were all hiding the fact we could evolve, because we were all worried we'd make everyone else feel bad?" Koromon asked, summing it all up.

"Basically? Yes," Dorumon said with a nod.

The little Digimon looked at each other...before one of them snorted, which started to spread, before all of them were soon laughing together. "Boy, that makes me feel kinda dumb," Tsunomon laughed. "Sorry about acting all cold then."

"It's fine. Next time just be honest with us. We're all friends," DemiVeemon chuckled.

"Told you so!" Nora said, making Tsunomon chuckle.

Shortly after that, the Warriors stood in front of what looked like a sail boat of some sorts, which the little Digimon had made for them as thanks, so they could move across the plains quickly.

"This is perfect. It'll be easier to find the others if we have this." Jaune grinned.

"Uh, hey, think we could come with?" Sun asked "I still gotta help Oscar get home and all."

"And you guys are so cool and I want to see you turn into superheroes more!" Oscar exclaimed with a big grin.

Pierce chuckled a bit "Well… sounds alright with me." he said as they all climbed on.

"A bit tight with so many of us, but it still feels alright." Dorumon said as he carried Oscar on his back.

"Alright, let's go!" Nora cheered, before they dropped the sail, which quickly caught the wind and they were gliding across the plains, waving goodbye to the school, which soon became a dot on the horizon.

It was only an hour later until they finally saw a welcome sight though.

"Look up there!" Pyrrha said, pointing up at the sky, where they could see a few planes pass overhead, before people then started parachuting down.

"I think that's the others!" Ren said in surprise, smiling a bit.

"Hey! Guys! Down here!" Jaune shouted up at the descending figures (which he realised there were even more than before) and actually got some shouts back with some familiar voices.

It was good to know the group was reunited.

And there we go!

Yeah, we made this one be a bit of a reference to Digital Story... but also to classic Digimon Adventure, what with Tsunomon having a harmonica... and yes, the song he was playing was Yamato's song.

And we also have our next humans appearing in this one, and yeah, VERY early Oscar appearance.

Other than that... yeah, that's pretty much it for this chapter, and only one left in the batch.

Look forward to it, because...

The Legend Evolves.
