Author Note: Damn, I just made a mistake. I compare Imperial Heavy Armor with Iron Armor, I didn't realize Imperial Heavy Armor is made of pure steel(definitely not iron), so the defense capability should not be the same as Iron Armor, it should be around the same as Steel Armor(no matter how you see Iron Armor, its so much aesthethic for the Dragonborn than steel armor beside Steel Plate and Dragonplate and Dragon scale of course), I failed to consider Skyrim game balance with this one. It's not a big mistkae but I don't want you guys to see Imperial Heavy Armor weak as Iron Armor, no, in fact it's stronger than Iron Armor, it could be said a bit weaker than Steel Armor, not because of the quality but it doesn't cover as much as the body compare the latter, if you compare them side by side. You will notice that the imperial armor doesn't cover the bicep as much as steel. Ok that's it. Enjoy. Bye. Also it's now in third prespective, no more hadvar prespective until future chapter. Probably.
Also the worth of septim will not be the same as the game because game balance and the fact silver and copper coin doesnt exist in TES universe. The silver and copper coin only there for realism for The Empire economy, more or less Just fyi.
Sorry for very long update, I have to replay skyrim, enjoy it too much, i lose track of time, sometimes forgot you guys exist and i need to type check my writting. I rather upload once a month than to upload a chapter once a week with half effort wrtting grammar and whatnot. i'm fine if it's author note but the story itself need to be better than it's previous chapter. I hope by the time of 100 chapter, my writting quality is drastically different that you can see the difference. Again sorry for late upload.
Also, I need a new name for my fanfiction lol and a summary, I think the description isnt accurate enough for the reader and the title sound like a 1shot romance but instead what you guys got is steel, head decapicated and rolling on the floor and action fighting description.
incase you a reader from the future and wonder whats the old title of the ff, its my dragonborn is pretty cute, gonna marry her later on or something (like that i dunno lmao, ahhh the beauty of ff)
Also another note, I actually have written down more chapters, but they're more to get my ideas straight and I still haven't check the grammar and whatnot. Just to fyi im not lazying around lol. k bye. cya.
Also cheers to the two user who favourite my chapter and the dude who follow me. I would understand if you unfavourite my ff and unfollow me because of how long the the author note are. ok bye that should be it. thanks for reading and on with the show.

When the party of three return to Riverwood after wiping out bandits that were infesting the mine, slowly they return to Riverwood, as all of them carrying as many loot as their back and knee can handle and store them in Faendal house, after storing all the booty they gain, all three of them walk their way to the local tavern to get a drink to celebrate for completing their first quest, Elise and Hadvar encounter someone they known, someone they know quite well, especially for Hadvar, while Elise welcome that someone and Faendal just standing there quietly not quite sure who the person is, Hadvar however is the only who don't welcome the person.
"What are you doing here, Ralof." Ask Hadvar calmly as he grip his sword but had yet find a reason to unsheathe his blade.
"I'm here to finish the job, what else?" Almost instantly, the atmosphere went sour. Although Hadvar went vigilant, Elise just tilt her head. As for Faendal, he kinda went along with Hadvar as he doesn't really know who is Ralof is, not even realizing Ralof is a soldier for the Stormcloak, as he was wearing a cloak that hidden his uniform, furthermore the darkness of the night hide what need to be hidden.
"Calm yourself Hadvar, I was only joking, even now you still as serious as ever, that include your wood elf friend. I'm here as a representive of the Stormcloak, here to repay our debt to our benefactress, the pri-, I mean Elis."
"How does a Nord repay their benefactor, by having their comrade sneak up to them?" Faendal ask sharply and went full alert as he only notice them when they were almost near enough to strike them with a blade, and Faendal have every reason to be vigilant as he take pride in his skill as a hunter as he never let a predator get near him enough to strike, unless he allow it, whether it be a wolf, a bear or a sabertooth, none will get near him without him putting at least a single arrow in their body piercing their vital area.
For a human to able to sneak to his back shows that they're not just your average joe, and he is correct, the people who currently hiding from them and resident of Riverwood are Ulfric top lieutenant, the same rebel soldier who escape from Helgen who also given the task to guard Skyrim. Only then did the atmosphere went downhill as Hadvar unsheathe his sword, same goes for Faendal as he goes for his sword since he left his bow in his home. Even Elise can't help but to grip her sword and demand explanation.
"Explain yourself."
"Sorry, they're my comrade, that's correct. They don't really trust... me not getting myself caught by the Imperial, they're only here to accompany me so I can give our reward to Elis and return to Windhelm in one piece, I assure you This isn't exactly Stormcloak territory. I'm just gonna be honest, it's the Imperial soldier boy who is accompany Elis is the one who they don't trust, they refuse to believe that he won't just raise his sword and strike me down right where I stood, and the road aren't exactly safe either, as we got attack by pack of wolves when we walk passed by Riverwood, so we have to accompany with each other whether we like it or not."
"..."
"I tried to convince them but you know I don't have silver tongue."
"Hadvar, Faendal, you guys can go to the tavern without me, I be with you guys after I'm done talking with Ralof..."
Hadvar, still holding his sword and pointing the tip of the it to Ralof, "Promise me she won't be harm-"
"I promise on Kirsie life."
"F- Fine..." said Hadvar as he sheath his blade, "Come Faendal, let's get a drink."
Despite Faendal and Elis expectation of Hadvar refusing to move away from Elise side, even the Stormcloak who was hiding within the shadow, were surprise to see Hadvar despite reluctant at first, gave in as he walk toward the tavern. Only Ralof was not surprise of Hadvar action.
But before continuing walking toward the local tavern, Hadvar stop and look at Elis and said, "If you need help, just yell for help, all of the resident in Riverwood will come out with sword and axe in their hand."
"Just like that?" Faendal, slightly reluctant to leave Elise side, who is surrounded by a group of stranger, who are obviously much stronger, more skilled and possibly more armed than the bandit they kill in the mine still follow Hadvar.
Just as he take a step on the stair that lead to the tavern, Hadvar said in a low tone, low enough that Ralof or Elis won't hear it, "If he promise on that person life... then he will lose a leg, an arm and an eye before they lay even a finger on her." as he open the tavern and enter the building. "You coming?"
'If Hadvar have so much trust on that stranger, then so be it.' Faendal thought but before that, he look at Ralof direction and said to him, "Before I join with Hadvar, there's something I need to ask you guys"

"Please if you don't mind, there's a place for us two to talk."
"Lead the way Ralof." As Elis expected, the place he's talking about is Hod and Gerdur's house.
As Ralof knock on the door, a woman open the door, Gerdur, sister of Ralof.
"Ralof, you're back, is this your... friend you talking about? Please come inside you two. Hod! Come here a minute. I need your help with something."
"What is It, woman? Ralof you're back, which mean- Golly, is she your friend you're talking?" Hod who just saw Elis face for the first time, taken by surprise by her beauty "She is a looker- I mean... I mean... She's a... just a decent looker?" He stutter as he tried to correct herself when he realize his wife gave her the death glare.
When her wife done giving him the death glare, he look at Ralof eye and give him the expression that basically said, 'Why didn't you tell me she a beauty.' to which Ralof reply... with just a shrug.
As Elise expectation, nothing out of ordinary happen other than she receiving handful yet useful gift from Gerdur such as lockpick, a several potion of minor healing and jewerlies, however one of the jewelry she receive is enchanted in fact, and a heavy coinpurses, almost as big as her head, which was from Ralof instead.
"We only able to gather this much, not as much as we wanted but we hope it will help you in your journey."
"How much is in it?"
"Not much, we only able to gathered worth 50 Septims , 50 silver and 14 copper coin..."
"What?" Elis can't help but to ask again as if she heard him wrong.
"Wow. That's a lots of gold." Frodnar can't help but said it out loud, unintentionally blowing his hiding spot which is under his bed, cover his mouth with both of his mouth.
Frodnar, child of Gerdur and Hovl, have every reason to be amaze by the sight of 50 Septims. While 50 Septims is far from enough to buy a house in any city or town of Skyrim nor is it even enough for an adventurer to buy them self the cheapest full set of Steel Armor from the market, but it's just enough for a starting adventurer who know how to haggle to buy themself an Iron weapon whether it be sword, axe or spear, and also protection to protect themself from attack, whether it be gambeson or some sort leather armor, but if the starting adventurer is patient and is an skilled in haggling, they could get themself a full set of Iron Armor, although it may have been worn before and it might not be in decent quality, an Iron Armor is still an Iron Armor, it will stop an arrow, and protect your body from being cut down by a sword (assuming the quality of the weapon is also common and not flawless), and they have enough to get themself an Iron weapon and a hard wooden shied to protect against blunt weapon.
It's not exactly amount of wealth that an average farmer can save in just a months, so it's not surprising that a child of lumberjack would be surprise to see a coinpurse worth 50 Septims, nor it is an amount of wealth a child can save by relying on their income given by their parents and doing small labor and chores for other, if they feel generous and the child done a great job, at best they be given a single silver coin, most of the time however they will give no less than several copper coin, at worst a single copper coin. Your average kid living in Skyrim entire saving might not exceed no more than 2 septim.
So for a child to be excited to see a purse contain 50 Septims is more than understandable, it is to be expected in fact.
"Frodnar, so there's where my favorite nephew been hiding. Thought I didn't get to see you one last time till I departed to Windhelm."
"Uncle Rolaf, are you really leaving for real this time?"
"Aye lad, I have too. Jarl Ulfric need his men now than ever. Especially when- now in those dire time." Ralof stopped himself from mentioning what happen to Helgen in front of his nephew and continued in his thought instead.
'When legend is starting to burn down burn now villages, towns and cities...'
"I appreciate every single help. Thank you Ralof." Elis snapped out Ralof thought.
"Aye. It's the least thing we can do since you heal all of my comrades injury, even when you didn't have to. Gunjar and the other send their thanks as they didn't properly thank you."
"Gunjar, the one whose neck... I-" Elis stop as he notice there's a kid in the room. "One of the Stormcloak who I heal, yes? How's he doing?"
"You remember him? Ha! If he know about this, it will make his day." Said Ralof with a smirk.
"So... ah... do you... do you like pranks" Frodnar tried to speak to Elis but stuttered with a red-faced, barely manage to push his word from his mouth.
"Frodnar, why don't you prepare with your mother to prepare our two guest. Please, why don't you two stay for a meal?" His Father step in to save his son from being too embarrased.
"I appreciate the goodwill but I already planning to have a meal with my companion in the local tavern. They most likely waiting for me right now."
"Same here. My comrade planning to travel during the night to avoid Legion patrol. Most likely the legion will sent troops after us, mainly to recapture Jarl Ulfric."
"That's unfortunate, then we see you two off then. And Elis, feel free to stay with us if you don't have a place to stay when you walk passed by Riverwood. Any friend of Ralof is a friend of ours, here's a copy of our key to our house if need it."

The next morning, the three man party walk their way to the mountain, after visiting the Embershard Mine once again. Despite walking home with bountiful of loot last night, they seem to be in gloomy mood, particular, the female member of the group.
"Look at the bright side Elis, we looted most of the well-made one, the highest quality of weapon and armor we use it for ourself, and the possible amount of Septims we could made just by selling the rest could end up with thousand of Septims in our pocket." Said Faendal as he admire the full set of well-made Leather armor while carrying a new heavy Longbow and a brand new Steel Sword. Faendal reason for refusing harden steel armor is because it limit his mobility to fully draw his bow to release it's full strength.
"We should have come back for second at least." Elis replied as she wear a new Iron Heavy Armor chestpiece with pauldron, as the new one suited for female physique much better as previous one was design for unisex.
"We could... but when you guys first arrive in Riverwood and mention that you guys got attack by pack of wolves near Riverwood even though you guys stay on the main road, it become a whole different story, whether it be wolf or bear, they never attack traveler near village as long as they walk on the road, not since I make Riverwood my home and hunt any predator and animal near the town at least..."
"We could easily fought off wolves with the three of us if they ever tried to gang us, or even a man eating cave bear."
"Not during the night, they can see the night better than us men and mers. And all of us already have a hard time walking to RIverwood carrying those amount of loot, we're basically encumbered, to fought off against man pack of wolves... even for me, that's suicidal. Hadvar made the right choice to call it the night."
"…"
"You really want those leftover loot, do you?" Hadvar join in as he walk among the 3-man party while wearing a new set of Steel Heavy Armor with pride.
"It's not that I regret unable to hoard all of the loot... well maybe just a little bit but rather I'm worried who took them. If it just some looter who have nothing to do with the bandits and their operation, that will be great, lucky them, plenty of gold to fill his pocket, but if it's the leader of the bandits who started those operation, I'm a bit worried that they might retort their loss of operation by setting Riverwood or any innocent village in fire but what I'm really worried is what they going do with those large amount of weapon and armor in the first place, the amount of loot we left there is probably enough equipment to armed a large group of men to the teeth... I shouldn't have been too greedy, we should have set the rest in fire, put them into the forge one by one if we have to."
"No, I say we did what we could at that moment. If we didn't even leave them some left-over loot or damage the rest of the loot until its beyond usable, we might actually sealed the fate of Riverwood in the hand of those bandit, no doubt they will retort in anger by setting Riverwood in fire. That's the worst case scenario, the least worst case scenario is that the bandits are properly equip than your average household in Skyrim, but now at best, they slightly worse equip than the rebel army." Hadvar tried to comfort Elise.
"I guess we need to deliver this news to Jarl of Whiterun as well, or in this case, Jarl of Falkreath..." said Faendal.
"With Civil War going on in Skyrim, alongside the fact we bringing a message for Jarl of Whiterun that Helgen has been attack by a Dragon and Riverwood require guards, I doubt that he can do much other than hiring adventurer to investigatein exchange for a low reward." Elise predict.
"Damn it! This wouldn't happen in the first place if Ulfric didn't start a Civil War in Skyrim. This war shouldn't even happen in the first place!" Hadvar burst in anger.
"Ah... While theorizing the mystery of Embershard Mine is interesting and all~, why are we going into Bleak Fall Barrow again?" Faendal ask Elis, the leader of the party.
"Didn't you father and forefather always discourage you guys when you were a kid to not go near to those... curses place." He continued.
"…" Elise didn't say anything, not sure how to reply his question despite knowing very well why they here.
"My pa didn't have too since I have nightmares about those Draugr when I was a young lad, them creeping down the mountain to climb through my window at night... but he still did because kids are you know, kids. One time, a friend of mine to dare me to do something stupid, something stupid such as going to the mountain and visiting ancient tombs."
"Do you still have nightmare about those Draugr." Faendal ask.
"No, but I admit, I still don't much like the look of it."
"And you still coming with us even though you're still scared of some walking corpse?" Faendal tease with a punchable face from Hadvar perspective.
"I'm not scared, beside I have a nightmare about something else."
"What?" Elis can't help but to ask.
"Faendal swordplay, I think I might receive an injury from him than Ulfric strongest boys."
"WHY YOU!... It's not that bad, is it?"
Surprisingly and as expectedly, from Faendal and Hadvar teasing each other, the atmosphere among the party starting to brighten up a bit.
"I'm joking, I'm joking, you're swordsmanship isn't that bad."
"Hadvar, thank you..." Said Elis.
"Hmm? For what?"
"For accompanying me once more, of course. You didn't have to come with me when I was going to clear the mine infested with bandits nor accompany us till Whiterun, or helping us robbing a tomb."
"Please stop saying that, it sound like what we doing right now is a crime." Faendal interrupted.
"Probably." Hadvar muttered and thought he should check the local laws and the Empire.
"Wait what?" Said Faendal as he nearly froze on the spot while two of his teammates continue walking.
"What I'm trying to say is thank you, you didn't have to but you did either way." Elis thank Hadvar one more time, but this time she stare at Hadvar eye's with a smile that can make country wage war for her.
"It's fine, with this, we should be even. I don't like to be in someone debt and unable to repay them either way." Said Hadvar as he look forward the path they taking which will lead them to Bleak Falls Barrow, refusing to look at Elise in her eyes, even for a second. For the first time in Hadvar life, the Imperial Soldier who is infamous in the army for his incredible dedication to training and studying to become a better Legionnaire, which unintentionally create a false rumour that Hadvar is either impotent or swing the other way and only the other way, is finally revealed that he does not in fact, swing one way only... at least.
"Hey now, where's my thanks?" Fortunately for Hadvar, Faendal butts in and broke the atmosphere.
"Of course I was gonna thank you as well, Faendal but you're getting paid, he's not."
"Wait a minute..." Hadvar interrupted.
"I'm getting paid?" Faendal continued.
"And I'm not?" Hadvar interrupted once more.
"Not surprising, especially since you still afraid of walking corpse. Of course I'm getting paid and you're not." Faendal jump in the conversation and broke the tension and continue running ahead of them before Hadvar can grab him cloak
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Those equipment you wearing... and weapon you holding are your payment. No way I'm paying a single Septim more, so better take care of it."
"..."
"..."
"Aha. Yup." And she try to make a ran for it only to be stopped when Faendal spoke out he spotted an enemy.
"Bandits up ahead." As expected from the most talented archer among the parties, he easily able to spot a humanoid figure that the other two can't, despite there's a blizzard that both parties vision, how far they can see.
Author note: Fun fact, Hadvar is the only who mention Bleak Fall Barrow but not Ralof. Apparently that is false. Damn you outdated wiki! jk still love u.
Currency in tameriel, 1 septim cost 100 silver OR 1,000 copper coin, and 1 silver cost 10 copper coin. More or less. and 1 copper coin cost 10 cent in US currency, i just use US currency because eh why not, it's a currency many known about whether you asian or african or south american.
