Chapter Nine:
Hearing his name, Duncan turned around and raised his arm to wave with a slight grin when he saw that Kagome had called him. "Hey!" He called out before putting his arm back down; he watched as she walked to him with three guys he's never seen before behind her.
"You found you're way to school, huh?" He teased her with a smirk that turned into a quiet snicker when he saw her blush a little. "Lewshawna helped me," Kagome admitted sheepishly. "Anyway, these are my friends Billy Batson, Jonathan Kent, and Damian Wayne. They just transferred here today too." She introduced them.
'Four transfer students? One is rare, but four? What the hell is going on?' Duncan wondered as he looked at all four of them. He instantly recognized one of them as Bruce Wayne's son and wondered even more why he was all the way here instead of in Gotham. 'How far is he from Gotham? Where the fuck is Gotham?!' He made a mental note to either 'ask'Harold when he saw him or look it up later, but knowing himself, he was most likely going to go with the first idea.
~ First Period ~
Kagome, Damian, Billy, and Jonathan sat at a quiet table. Billy and Kagome were slightly pouting about being forced into wearing the school uniforms. At the same time, Damian was indifferent, and Jonathan was fine.
"Do you have groceries at home Higurashi," Damian asked, looking at her forcing her out of her pout. Kagome shook her head before grabbing a journal out of her backpack along with a mechanical pencil, knowing that they were now going to use that period, or a good majority of it, to make a grocery list.
After what felt like hours but was really thirty minutes and alot of suggestions thrown at Kagome along with her own suggestions. "Im gonna read everything back to make sure that I have everything." Kagome started.
"For cereal, we have cinnamon toast crunch, cinnamon toast crunch cereal bars, cocoa puffs, lucky charms, lucky charms marshmallow flavored bars, and Reese's puffs snack bars. Did I miss anything?" She asked.
"Reese's puffs and frosted flakes," Billy told her. Nodding, Kagome wrote them both down. "Snacks are burritos, cookies and cream ice cream, green tea ice cream, granola bars, pizza, pizza rolls, mac and cheese, popcorn, pop tarts, raspberry Ribble ice cream, pudding, ramen, string cheese, sunflower seeds, yogurt, chips, mint chocolate ice cream, Nutella, and vanilla ice cream." She named before looking at them again to make sure she didn't miss anything else.
"Almonds, apples, asparagus, bananas, carrots, cherries, grapes, grapefruit, melons, bell peppers, chili peppers, cucumbers, garlic, ginger, jalapenos, lemons, lettuce, lentils, lime, oranges, onions, peppers, and potatoes." She continued before taking a deep breath. 'There's so much stuff.' She whined in her head, momentarily wondering how much all of this was going to cost. Then she realized that it would be either her or Damian paying this time, most likely her. 'It's a good thing Sesshomaru gave me so much money.' She thought with a sigh before continuing to read the list.
"Blocks of tempeh, tofu, just egg, which is apparently a plant-based alternative, rice milk, and soya milk for Damian, because he is a vegetarian and he will be respected," Kagome said fiercely, putting emphasis on the second part as she glared at a couple of guys near them when she heard them say some heard them making rude comments about Damian being vegetarian. It's okay if the rest of us eat milk and stuff around you?" Kagome asked Damian, concerned that it would upset him if they did, and he wasn't okay with it only to see him smirking at the guys who were visibly shaking from her glare.
"I see your glare has gotten much better," Damian told her with what sounded like a proud tone before looking at her. "As long as it doesn't get into my stuff." He said, answering her question. "I'll look into more vegetarian recipes," Kagome told him with a soft smile while Damian simply nodded his head.
"Surprisingly, there isn't that much meat and dairy; we have bacon, ham, pork chops, sausages, turkey, fish sticks, eggs, milk, cheese, and chicken."
"We have a lot of seasoning and sauces. Basil, cajun seasoning, chili powder, garlic powder, garlic salt, garlic pepper, Hershey's caramel topping, Hersey's hot fudge topping, Hersey's strawberry syrup, honey, hot chili powder, hot sauce, jelly, ketchup, lemon pepper seasoning, maple syrup, mayonnaise, mustard, soy sauce, spicy ketchup, spicy mustard, chocolate syrup, cilantro, and relish." Kagome read before handing the paper over, tired of reading the list.
"Beans, celery, nuts, rice, mushrooms, olive oil, coconut oil, and vegetable oil." Jonathan read. "I still don't know why we need this much oil." He stated with a shrug before he continued to read. "Biscuits, nutella, coffee, coffee cream, orange juice, pancake mix, pancake syrup, oatmeal, and waffles." He placed the paper onto the table.
"Bread, flour, butter, grains, pasta, and peas." He finished. "I think we have everything." He hummed slightly. "Oh wait, there's also dip, green tea bags, guacamole, herbal tea, mint, onion rings, parsley, peanut butter, pickles, red onions, salad dressing, soda, sesame paste, spaghetti noodles, spaghetti sauce, spinach, sugar, tahini, tea, tomatoes, tortillas, and water bottles."
"Who's going to cook all of this?" Billy asked, looking at them. Kagome and Damian looked at him, wondering what he meant. "Us obviously," Kagome said while Damian just shook his head.
"Not everyone knows how to cook," Jonathan told them both, hoping it would clarify for them both. "It's not hard, idiot," Damian stated with a flat look on his face. "Not everyone has a butler who taught them," Billy told him miffed.
"I don't have a butler." Kagome pointed out. "Not everyone was running around the past in a mini skirt," Jonathan mumbled with a slight smirk, knowing that Kagome who's eye twitched at the comment, Damian, and Billy could hear him.
