The next morning, Olivia was waiting for the phone to ring. She was freshly showered and wearing the same clothes. They were washed in the sink, and they dried overnight on the wall heater. Maya put her in a nice suite at a luxury hotel. Olivia knew the phone would be ringing soon. It was almost noon in DC. Olivia wasn't expecting to hear a knock at the door. She wondered if it was the agent standing in the hall. It was probably room service with her breakfast. When Olivia opened the door, Maya was standing next to the agent.

"You didn't have to come to Alaska."

Maya was dressed in a tailored designer suit. Silky hair falling on her shoulders. Prada purse to match her outfit and heels. Impeccable like always. She kept her arms folded taking in Olivia's appearance. Jeans and a sweatshirt with her curls pulled back in a bun. Colorful sneakers.

"I hope that's not all you have to say because we have a lot to talk about."

"I didn't know my vacation would turn out like this."

"You haven't been 18 for a full month, and you almost got yourself abducted into a human trafficking ring. Why are you so reckless?"

"I ran. I tried to fix the situation without your help."

"Why were you staying in the woods? You have a trust fund, and you're traveling the country like a hobo in a van."

"I didn't want to ask you for money."

"You are in such a rush to be independent. You wouldn't let me put a tracking app on your phone, so it took longer to track your device. It's last known location was at Grant Motel. Jerry and Jake Ballard are dead. We're still looking for Angela. There were hundreds of missing young ladies under that motel. I guess I should thank you for being so stupid."

"I kept running."

"You're going to college in DC."

"What?"

"You are too reckless to move out of DC right now. Maybe you'll be smarter when you finish your degree."

"You can't make me stay in DC."

"I'm paying your tuition."

"I want you to treat me like a woman. I'm not a girl."

"We don't have time to argue. I'm getting you breakfast, and then we have to keep looking for Angela. Her last known location was the motel. Do you know anyone in their circle who can help us with the operation? The owners of the phones you used?"

"Fitz Grant."

Angela slumped her shoulders. "Eli and Sandra are looking for Angela right now with some of my agents. I hope she is alive."
