Chapter 9
"You what-?"
Blaine held the phone away from his ear, wincing as his mother shrieked through it. Even though she was tiny, she could produce a lot of noise and Blaine had known it when he was a naughty toddler. Sneaking his filthy hands in the cookie jar or trying to sneak a dead toad into the house, his mother had always used her loud voice to discipline her son.
She never used patronizing words, only her raised voice and a "No, Blaine!" and it had enough effect on the little boy.
That was why, when Sebastian had first started to yell, Blaine hadn't thought anything of it. It sounded like his mother when she was mad at him, but it was never too bad.
The situation worsened quickly though and he had turned from a happy young man in a devoted relationship to a shadow of his former self.
Ever since Kurt had been in his life, he found himself slowly turning back to how he was before Sebastian started assaulting him and his mother had started to notice.
Since Kurt and Blaine were now in a commited relationship (Blaine had loved the way Kurt's cheeks had coloured a pretty shade of pink when Blaine had officially asked him a week ago), Blaine needed to come clean to his mother, who had already suspected something was happening when Blaine had told her about Kurt just hours after they had first met.
"I have a boyfriend, mom," Blaine sighed, repeating the words he had uttered out as soon as his mother had answered the phone.
"If it's anyone else than Kurt, I swear to god, Blaine Anderson!" Pamela Anderson sounded threathening, but Blaine laughed nonetheless.
"It's Kurt, mom," Blaine exclaimed happily, a tear escaping the corner of his eye as he let out a bubbly laugh. "Ofcourse it's Kurt."
"Good," Pam huffed out. "Now I want to meet him."
"Oh, um… I have to ask him first, I'm not sure if…"
"Blaine Anderson, you have been talking non stop about Kurt for the last few weeks. I get to meet him!"
No one ever questioned Pamela and Blaine being mother and son. Not only were they almost a copy of each other, their personality also looked eerily alike. Cooper had often joked that he was sure he was only his half-brother, because there was no way Pam was his real mother. They looked nothing alike whatsoever.
"Yes, mother, I'll ask him." Blaine rolled his eyes, as he grabbed Sina's leash. "I'm gonna walk Sina and invite Kurt to come with me and then ask him, okay?"
"You better," his mother warned from the other side of the line and then her voice grew soft. "I'm happy for you, Blaine. You deserve to be, after everything that's happened."
"Thanks, mom," Blaine answered softly as he shrugged on his jacket with one arm, but it proved to be rather difficult. "Look, mom, I'm gonna go before Sina pees all over the floor. I'll get back to you as soon as I ran it by Kurt, okay?"
"Okay. I can't wait to see you two. I love you, Blaine."
"I love you too, mom," and with a happy sigh, Blaine hung up the phone, pockening it inside his jacket and then put his jacket on the right way. He whistled and laughed as he saw Sina run around the corner, going slightly crazy as she spotted the leash.
"Come on, girl," Blaine mumbled as he slid the leash around her neck, petting her side affectionately.
They moved outside and Blaine buried his nose in his scarf as he walked towards Kurt's front door, but before he could knock or ring the bell, the door was swung open already, revealing a cute looking Kurt in his new winter outfit.
He looked so delicious, Blaine almost forgot about the walk and his mother's question, but he managed to push back the feelings of ravishing Kurt and flashed him a bright smile.
"Hey," Blaine exclaimed as Kurt moved closer to him, opening his arms and catching Kurt in a tight hug.
"Hello," Kurt smiled back and as he untangled himself from the hug, he kneeled down and hugged Sina too, who looked pleased and whined happily. "Hello, girl!"
Blaine watched the picture with a sparkle in his eyes. The way Kurt loved his dog was precious and it made Blaine fall a little bit further in love with Kurt.
"You wanna join us?" Blaine asked, sparkle still in his eyes, as he pulled Sina back, who wanted to eat a flower in Kurt's front garden.
"Ofcourse!" Kurt grabbed his keys from the table next to the front door and locked his door.
"My mother wants to meet you," Blaine started as soon as they were on their way, walking the familiar loop through their neighbourhood, just long enough for Sina to do her deeds and run around to release some energy.
"Oh…" Kurt ducked his head and looked down, almost scared. "Um…"
"You don't have to meet her if you don't want to! I'll just hold her off some longer. It's fine…" Blaine brought out nervously.
"Blaine, don't be silly, ofcourse I wanna meet her. It just took me by surprise. I'm sorry I made you nervous…"
Their newfound relationship was still some getting used to for the both of them. Blaine was still scared about Kurt hurting him, even though his therapist talked to him about it and it made Blaine realize it wasn't fair to assume Kurt would start hurting him, just because the same had happened in the past. It was slowly getting better, but he was not there yet, not by a long shot.
He knew Kurt walked on egg shells around him. Ever since his last outburst, the day Kurt had shook some sense into him, Kurt hadn't really lost control. And while it should scare Blaine when Kurt was mad at him, he really wanted him to lay his feelings bare without holding back. Okay, without seriously hurting Blaine, ofcourse. But he didn't want Kurt to treat him carefully, as if being a porcelain doll.
He hadn't known how to break it down to Kurt without triggering a fight between them, so Blaine left it, the conversation always on the tip of his tongue, but he didn't dare push it through.
"Where are your thoughts running off to?" Kurt asked carefully, kindly and Blaine looked at his boyfriend, who looked so scared, so cute that Blaine couldn't help but to stop walking, releasing Sina so she could run around.
"I'm thinking about… us," Blaine started and immediately he saw all sorts of emotions flash through Kurt's eyes, but he remained silent, which Blaine was glad about.
"I… um…" Blaine started. Okay, he was gonna say it and hopefully Kurt would take it okay… He took a deep breath as he stared at Sina to make sure she didn't do something too crazy.
"I don't want you to treat me carefully," he blurted out and then frowned, because that sounded so wrong. He hoped Kurt would get it if he elaborated on it some more.
"I… Blaine?" Kurt exclaimed, a confused glance on his face. Blaine couldn't blame him.
"Please, don't get mad, but um… I think you're treating me like I'm going to break at any moment. I want you to let me know if I do something you don't like. I want you to get mad at me, without using physical violence ofcourse… But um… please yell at me if I do something wrong. It makes me feel human and if we're in this relationship, we can't last without some sort of fight."
Kurt let out a shuddery breath as Blaine stopped talking. The curly-haired man brought his hands together nervously as he warmed them up, staring at Kurt, waiting.
"Thank you, Blaine," Kurt started saying, a bright smile appearing on his face and it made Blaine's heart jump happily in his chest.
"Um, so you're not mad?" Blaine asked carefully as he took Kurt's beautiful red cheeks in his hands.
"You're right," Kurt said, not really answering Blaine's question. "I have been treating you too careful. I'm just really afraid you're gonna run from this relationship and I don't think I can handle that."
"My sweet, beautiful, wonderful, amazing Kurt," Blaine answered as he moved his face closer to his boyfriend's. "I'm not thinking about leaving, ever. Please trust me."
"Okay," Kurt sighed as he leaned into Blaine's touch, closing his eyes. "I trust you 100%."
"I'm so happy to hear you say that," Blaine smiled as he whistled into Sina's direction, who came running back, barking happily and coming to stand in between Kurt and Blaine's legs.
"Let me try again. I would love to meet your mother, Blaine. When did you have in mind?"
"Um, I could ask and see if she's available tomorrow for dinner? We could invite her at my house?"
"I would love nothing more," Kurt answered, smiling brightly.
"Thank you for continuing to listen to me, for being there for me, for being the best boyfriend a scarred, but happy boy like me could ever wish for."
"The honour is all mine," Kurt responded softly as he pressed a loving kiss to his boyfriend's cold lips. "Let's go home and plan dinner for tomorrow?"
Blaine nodded as he wrapped the leash around Sina again and the three of them moved back home.
After a confirming phone call with Blaine's mother, they were writing a shopping list to make lasagna and they were soon seated in Kurt's SUV on their way to Walmart, both singing on top of their lungs, while Broadway songs were playing from Kurt's Spotify.
They moved inside Walmart after grabbing a cart and they rolled down the aisles, grabbing veggies, tomato sauce, lasagna sheets, cheese and anything they would need to make the delicious pasta dish.
"What's your mother like?" Kurt asked curiously as they were scanning the sweets section for an appropriate dessert to serve after lasagna.
"She's proud and she would do anything for her children. Including divorcing her husband when he's against his son being gay…" Blaine said, his mind trailing off to the moment he had come out to his parents and Cooper.
His mother had reacted so amazingly, hugging him and kissing him all over his face and praising how proud she was of him. He remembered looking at his father hopefully and his heart had shattered in a thousand pieces when his father grunted and spoke out the words no son would ever wanna hear from his father.
"You are no son of mine if you are gay. You're disgusting."
His mother had tried to speak some sense into her husband, pleading how Blaine was still his son, but he wouldn't budge.
One evening, when Blaine had been doing homework, his mother had entered his room with a soft knock and a sad look on her face.
"Your father and I are getting a divorce, Blainey," she had spoken out softly as soon as she had sat down on his bed.
"Because of me?" Blaine had asked, a crack in his voice as he had tried to fight back tears.
"No, Blaine. I can't be the wife of someone who disapproves of her son like that. His way of thinking is awful."
Ever since that moment, Blaine had started to love his mother even more than he already did, knowing how his mother would move the earth for him if he would ask.
Blaine was brought back with a soft touch from his boyfriend, taking him back out of his thoughts.
"Hey, I'm sorry your parents had a divorce. I had no idea."
"I broke all contact with my father after the divorce. If he didn't agree with who I am, he doesn't deserve a relationship with his son. I moved into a slightly smaller house with my mom. Cooper had already gone off to LA. My mother is amazing."
"I bet she is." Kurt elbowed his boyfriend in the side, playfully and softly as he moved forward and grabbed tiramisu ice cream, finally deciding on dessert.
When they came home to an over-excited Sina, the two boyfriends put away the groceries, fed Sina and fell down on the couch in a tight embrace.
"I love you," Blaine said, wonder present in his voice as he wiped away a strand of hair from Kurt's forehead.
"And I love you, Blaine Anderson," Kurt whispered back as they moved their lips together, kissing lazily, trying to ignore Sina who tried to squeeze her enormous body in between the tangled-together couple.
They laughed as Sina succeeded in the end, snuggling close to her, while still touching some body parts of each other in an awkward way.
They still fell asleep, content with the direction their lives were going.
The next day Kurt and Blaine were moving around the kitchen gracefully, already preparing the lasagna dish, so they only had to pop it in the oven. Kurt had been extremely nervous about meeting Blaine's mother, but Blaine had calmed him down enough, explaining his mother had never been anything but supportive of him.
It made Kurt's erratic heart beat a little slower for the time being, but it would speed up again when Blaine flashed him a smile, a rather loving glance in his eyes.
They worked together on the pasta dish, walked Sina, cleaned Blaine's house and before they knew it, it was close to 5pm and Kurt still needed to go over to his house to change clothes.
"I'll be back in a flash," Kurt yelled as he ran towards his house. The clothes he was gonna impress his boyfriend's mother with were already laying on his bed, waiting to be worn.
Wearing brown shoes, light grey skinny jeans with a white belt wrapped through the loops, a light pink blouse tugged into his pants and a light grey scarf loosily thrown around his neck and his hair slicked back, he knew he would both impress Blaine's mother and Blaine. And maybe, if he was lucky, Blaine would help him out of his clothes to do some… fun activities later, as soon as Blaine's mother would be gone.
He moved back to Blaine's house, just as he saw a car turn into their street. Quickly, he knocked on the door and skipped through the door when Blaine let him in.
"I think your mother is coming down the street right now, I saw a car approach," Kurt said as he watched his boyfriend, who looked like he had trouble coming up with a clever response. "Cat got your tongue, honey?"
"You look amazing." Blaine's pupils widened slightly, darkening his eyes, making Kurt chuckle.
"Thanks, Blaine." He threw in a wink and now he was sure his poor boyfriend would need some time to cool down.
"Stop flirting with me, Kurt Hummel," Blaine snapped jokingly as he pressed a quick kiss on Kurt's lips and moved to the door, where a light knock was coming from.
"Hello, mom!" Blaine exclaimed as he opened the door, revealing Blaine's mother, who looked exactly like Blaine, only older and she was a woman, obviously.
"Hey sweetheart!" Blaine's mother replied and moved inside the house. "Your house looks nice with the fairy lights on the porch. Well done."
"Thanks, mom," Blaine said dryly as he took his mother's coat and put it on the rack, then placed a hand on her shoulders and pushed her towards Kurt in a friendly way, as Kurt stood at the end of the hallway, slightly awkward, waiting for Blaine to introduce them.
"Mom, this is Kurt Hummel, my boyfriend. Kurt, this is Pamela Anderson, but everyone calls her Pam."
"I can introduce myself, Blaine Anderson," Pam said, raising her eyebrow as she stared at her son mockingly and turned back around to look at Kurt again. "Hello, sweetheart! As my dear son already spoiled, I'm Pamela Anderson, but call me Pam, and I'm this young man's mother." She ended the sentence with a bright smile flashed at Blaine. "I'm very proud of him."
Kurt's eyes sparkled. He already loved Blaine's mother and was sure the feeling was mutual. "I'm proud of him aswell, miss."
"Oh, puhlease!" Pam cried out, as Kurt noticed Blaine snickering behind his hand. "Drop the 'miss'-act, I might be old, but I'm Pam for you, sweetie."
"Okay, Pam," Kurt nodded as he glared rather dangerously at his boyfriend, who immediately stopped laughing and raised an eyebrow back at him, shrugging innocently.
The three of them moved to the living room, where Blaine disappeared to the kitchen to get some drinks, leaving Pam and Kurt together with Sina, who opened one lazy eye, then decided she wasn't impressed and continued sleeping, snoring lightly.
"Thank you for taking care of my boy, Kurt," Pam said under her breath. "I worry about him, even more ever since… You know." She trailed off, a sad look on her face.
"Yeah, I get it," Kurt answered, voice just as soft, as if they didn't want Blaine to hear them.
"I'm so glad he has found you. He needed someone around, especially after everything that had happened to him. He always told me he didn't need a new boyfriend, afraid he would get hurt again, but I always hoped he would meet someone like you."
"I will always be there for him, Pam. I'm not intending to hurt him," Kurt said firmly, his arms over each other on his chest, looking resolute.
"Thank you again, Kurt. It's easier to let him go now."
The conversation was put on hold when Blaine returned with their drinks, putting them on the side table, eyeing his mother and his boyfriend suspiciously. He was almost absolutely sure they had been talking about him, but he didn't dare ask.
They moved their conversation to something lighter, talking jobs, Kurt's time in New York, Pam's life over in Columbus, Sina and Kurt's family business over in Lima.
"I think I'm gonna take over my father's business when he retires," Kurt said and he saw Blaine looking at him in wonder, not knowing this piece of information. Kurt hadn't shared it with anyone yet, not even his father. He had thought about it more and more ever since he was back in Ohio. It was a good opportunity and the business would stay in the family, which he knew Burt would absolutely enjoy.
"Oh, that's wonderful, Kurt!" Pam exclaimed. "What kind of business does he own?"
"A car repair shop," Kurt answered and he shrugged, playing with the rim of his glass. "I don't know. When I was younger, it hadn't even crossed my mind. I found no joy working at cars, but I was okay at it, since my father had taught me some tricks. But now that I'm back in Ohio… It doesn't seem so bad. I can hire mechanics to work on the cars and I will run the shop and do the administrative work."
"That sounds amazing, Kurt," Blaine replied, eyes sparkling as he stared at Kurt with an odd look in his eyes. It made Kurt feel funny inside and he had no idea why.
Pam was smiling knowingly behind her glass of wine as the two young men were staring at each other, completely gone from the world.
Sina then decided to bark at something she saw outside and the moment was broken. Conversation flowed on as Kurt got up and moved into the kitchen to put the lasagna in the oven and to make a side salad to go with the dish.
"What was that?" Pam exclaimed as soon as Kurt was out of the living room.
"What was what?" Blaine asked nervously as he looked down on the floor, spotting a piece of rubbish, picking it up and putting it on the table to throw away later.
"That look you gave Kurt after he told he wants to take over his father's business."
"I don't know what you mean," Blaine said defensively, staring at his hands in his lap.
"Do you think about a future with Kurt?" Pam asked carefully, not wanting to pressure her son into anything, but she also knew her son better than anyone.
"I… what?" Blaine confusedly exclaimed as he furrowed his eyebrows together, sinking further into the couch.
"I think you were thinking about your future when Kurt told us his. You were picturing yourself inside the life Kurt will have in 10 years time."
"I…" Blaine stammered, but shut his mouth, not knowing what to say to that. "It's way too early to be thinking about our future together, mom."
"I disagree. If you know, you know. Sometimes it's that simple." Pam shrugged as she stroke Sina's fur, who was laying on the couch next to Pam, asleep again.
"Love has never been simple in my life…" Blaine mumbled.
"I think in this case, it is, sweetheart. I know you've had a difficult first love, a very difficult one who left you behind with scars, but what do you feel for Kurt?"
"Kurt makes me feel… alive, loved, cherised, sexy…" Blaine quickly replied and then his eyes widened. "Shit…"
"There you have it. What you two have can simply be described as one, true love."
Blaine stared back down to the ground, eyebrows still furrowed together. "I think you might be right, mom."
What both Blaine and Pam didn't know, was that Kurt, just behind the door in the kitchen, had heard the entire conversation. It had made him smile so widely, it hurt his cheeks.
But it didn't matter, Blaine had just spoke out some very, very, very important words.
"This tastes delicious, boys!" Pam praised as they were sitting at the table some while later, all three a big piece of lasagna on their plates, while Sina was happily munching away on a smaller piece on the ground.
"Thank you so much, Pam," Kurt answered as he sipped his wine, waiting for his lasagna to cool off just a little.
He took in the picture in front of him. Blaine was happily chatting away with his mother, while Sina was laying underneath the table, snoring and slurping on the food. Kurt placed his chin in his hand, sighing. He had never thought this would be his life only two months into his move to Ohio. Kurt had thought he needed more time fitting into Yellow Springs. He thought he needed more time getting used to the fact he was now living alone.
Well, he hadn't exactly lived alone, even if Blaine and Kurt both had their own house. Blaine was over at Kurt's so much, it didn't feel like Kurt was alone that much.
Blaine then looked over from the conversation with his mother and smiled at him lovingly and sent him a wink, which made Kurt's heart do a double flip in his chest.
Yep, he had a pretty amazing life.
"Kurt!" Blaine groaned as Kurt moved down Blaine's naked body, grinning triumphantically as he swallowed Blaine's cock in one go, deep throating him without much difficulty.
The curly-haired man was thrashing beneath him, eyes wide open, panting harshly as he fucked into Kurt's mouth.
Kurt had remembered the fact about Blaine that he loved being deep throated. It was a fact Blaine shared with him the first time they were intimate and it had stayed imprinted inside Kurt's mind ever since.
"You're amazing," Blaine sobbed as he wrapped his hands in Kurt's hair, tugging.
The brown-haired man groaned around Blaine's cock as one of his hands disappeared down to his own cock, masturbating in the same rhythm as the movement of his lips around his boyfriend's cock.
"Oh, Kurt… Mmmm…" Blaine moaned, trembling and grabbing the head board of the bed. "I'm… not gonna last," he groaned as he kept snapping his hips up into Kurt's warm mouth.
Kurt popped his mouth off the glorious cock and stared up into Blaine's eyes, who answered his stare with lust-blown eyes, his chest moving up and down rapidly.
"I think I rather want to be inside of you when you come. What do you think?"
"Yes, yes…" Blaine moaned as he moved up the bed even more, pushing a pillow underneath his hips as he showed Kurt his hole in such a delicious way that Kurt couldn't help but to do something else first.
Parting Blaine's legs, he ran his tongue over the inside of his boyfriend's left leg, moving closer to the sensitive area. He heard Blaine panting heavily above his and with a grin, he knew he had Blaine wrapped around his finger.
Moving further, he licked around Blaine's hole, which looked pink and so, so delicious that Kurt groaned against it, making Blaine trash and push some swear words out his mouth.
He brought the tip of his tongue inside just slightly and he felt his lover shudder as he fucked in and out with his tongue. Then, searching around on the bed for the bottle of lube thrown there earlier by Blaine, he drizzled some lube on his index finger and moved it inside painstakingly slow just above his tongue.
"Yes, Kurt!" Blaine yelled out so beautifully that Kurt moved quickly to prepare him for the real deal.
Soon, he was fucking three fingers in and out of Blaine's hole, while his boyfriend above him was almost sobbing, begging to be fucked.
"Please, Kurt… Please!"
"Okay, honey, calm down… I'm gonna make you feel good."
"You already make me feel amazing," Blaine groaned out and Kurt was proud at his boyfriend that he could still form words at this point.
He put a condom around his cock and covered it with enough lube to make it comfortable for Blaine and moved inside carefully, while staring at Blaine's face. His boyfriend had his eyes squeezed close and his mouth was open, a breathy moan escaping.
"You're beautiful, Blaine," Kurt breathed as he bottomed out, waiting for Blaine to give him the go. Above him, the curly-haired man he was so much in love with had tears shining his hazel eyes and Kurt kissed the inside of Blaine's legs, which were wrapped around Kurt's neck, draping behind over Kurt's back, his heels digging in his lower back so deliciously.
"Move, Kurt." Blaine pushed out a shuddery breath as he nodded, meeting Kurt's first thrust with his hips.
"Oh, Blaine," Kurt moaned loudly as he fucked into his boyfriend's hole, who answered him enthusiastically. Their movements quickened and way too soon, Kurt felt a familiar tug in his stomach and before he could warn Blaine, he emptied inside the condom, inside Blaine. He remembered to tug at Blaine's cock before he too came with a shout, spurting come over his stomach and Kurt's hand.
"Oh, shit…" Blaine said as he came down, panting harshly and staring at Kurt with much love in his eyes.
"Yep," Kurt laughed as jumped up and moved to the bathroom, wetting a wash cloth and when he came back, he sweetly cleaned his boyfriend, ridding his stomach of the sticky come.
"I love you, Kurt, thank you."
"You don't have to thank me every time we have sex, Blaine," Kurt teased and wrapped his arms around Blaine's naked body, pushing close.
"I still do, because you're amazing."
A few weeks later, the day of the autumn festival had finally arrived and Kurt was speeding home after his shift at the Sunrise Café, already spotting Blaine, who had a day off, in front of his house with Sina just next to him, both waiting for Kurt.
"Hey sweetheart!" Blaine exclaimed as soon as Kurt stopped in front of his house, taking the keys and opening the door.
"Hey, Blaine. Let me get changed real quick and then we can go!" Kurt called out as he was already moving upstairs and into the bathroom, where he got rid of his work clothes, freshened himself up and put on his clean clothes.
Within record time, he skipped downstairs again, his heart beating erratically in his chest when he spotted Blaine leaning lazily against the front door, waiting for his boyfriend.
"You look rather delicious, Blaine," Kurt growled as he took in Blaine's outfit.
"You look not too bad yourself, Kurt," Blaine complimented back and opened the door, motioning for Kurt to go through first.
They walked towards the town's square, where all these booths were displayed, each selling some stuff that had something to do with autumn or winter time.
First they each bought some hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmellows and on one of the many chairs the festival was providing, they sipped on it and looked around.
"It all looks so cute!" Kurt squealed as he buried his nose further into his scarf.
Blaine looked back at him funnily, before composing himself and nodding. "Yes, they always go all out."
They proceeded to walk around past the different booths. Kurt was hanging around one particular one, where a kind, eldery woman was selling her crocheted scarfs and mittens. Blaine couldn't help but to buy his boyfriend three sets of mittens and two scarves. He had his eye on all of them and Blaine loved making his boyfriend smile.
"Oh, glühwein!" Blaine said in a funny, German accent as they passed the booth, a strong, alcoholic smell drifting into their direction.
"Warm wine?" Kurt exclaimed enthusiastically. "My treat!" He skipped over to the booth and ordered two glasses, handing one over to Blaine as the salesman slid them over the counter.
"Cheers!" They said at the same time and clinked their glasses together.
"On our furture," Blaine exclaimed, releasing a nervous breath as he looked around, before putting his drink on a nearby table and sinking down on the floor, placing one knee on the cold ground. He felt around in his pocket and found what he was looking for.
When he looked back up, he was met with his boyfriend, staring back at him with wide eyes, his hands flown to his mouth in shock.
"Blaine?" He asked nervously, which in turn made Blaine nervous about something he was so sure about. He didn't think he was ever this sure about anything in his whole life.
"Kurt Hummel, we don't know each other that long, but I'm still gonna do this," Blaine said, determination in his voice as he swallowed, trying to get rid of the uncomfortable feeling in his throat. "I love you, Kurt Hummel and I'm so glad you've come into my life. You've made my life better in every sense of the way. Before I met you, I wasn't truly living, then suddenly you were there." He laughed and gasped for some much-needed air and then he opened the box with his finger, revealing the simple, but gorgeous ring inside.
"Kurt Hummel, will you marry me?"
Kurt released a breath he didn't know he was holding, squeaking, crying and clearing his throat, before pushing out the answer he was so sure of, despite the fact they only knew each other for a few months.
"Yes!"
An applause sounded over the whole square as the boyfriends-turned-fiancés both blushed as Blaine slid the ring around his lover's finger.
As they continued their walk, arms wrapped around each other, congratulations were thrown at them from their fellow town people and Kurt smiled a bashful smile.
"Blaine, you've completely surprised me there."
"Ofcourse I did, I went ring shopping in secret with Carole," Blaine winked back and Kurt laughed some more, shaking his head.
"I love you, fiancé. Are you sure about this?"
"Kurt, I've been the one who asked you, so yes, ofcourse I'm sure about this. I've had one bad marriage and now I'm ready to have an amazing one!"
Kurt wrapped his arms tighter around his fiancé as they walked away from the festival, leaving behind the hot drinks, the chatter of the town people and the warmth.
Walking home, Kurt's eyes suddenly widened as he thought about something.
"Oh!"
Blaine looked at his fiancé, frowning his eyebrows together. "What?"
"But which house will we move into? Yours or mine?"
Thank you for reading this story! There will be an epilogue. I'm gonna post that one in a few days. Until next time!
