Don't miss me too much
Kim slept peacefully but Adam wanted her to wake up. He carefully pushed the hair from her face and rubbed her shoulders.
"Morning... you sleep ok?"
"I did darling. Sorry to wake you but we have to head in soon. I wanted to fix you breakfast."
"Mmmm... sounds good but you don't have to." Kim moved closer and snuggled into Adam's side placing a kiss on his chest and laying her head on his chest. She loved to hear his heart beat. She started to drift off to sleep again.
"Darling, as much as I would love to stay in bed with you. We got to get going."
"You're no fun." Kim playfully slapped Adam's chest as he chuckled. " I need a shower. Care to join me?"
"Indeed I do!" Adam jumped up and pulled Kim out of bed. They headed to the shower. Kim started the water while she brushed her teeth. Adam took that moment to go to the kitchen and start the coffee maker. He knew Kim would need a cup as soon as she was out.
Kim was already in the shower when Adam got in. He pulled her back into his chest and began rubbing his hands all over her warm, wet body.
"That feels nice." Kim turned in his arms and returned the favor. Adam quickly pushed her up against the tiles and started an assault on her neck. "Adam". She was breathless and Adam smiled against her skin. "Adam, you're teasing me."
"That's the idea. Now how far do you want this to go."
"Are you seriously asking? Because I think you know the answer."
" I just like to hear you say it."
"Adam, I want you."
"Darling, you've got me."
They made love and it probably lasted longer than usual. Adam was not looking forward to a Kim free weekend and he wanted to savor all the time he could with her.
They made it out of the shower, dressed, and ready.
"How about we grab breakfast on the way in?" Adam handed her a to go mug filled with coffee.
"Sounds good. I'm starving. I had a great workout this morning. I have the best trainer. He's hot too!"
"Really? Well I am sure he enjoys working you out." Adam slapped Kim's bottom playfully.
Kim ran back to the bedroom for her suitcase. She threw in her toiletries and they were out the door.
They stopped off at their favorite breakfast grill and quickly ordered the usual.
"Don't miss me too much this weekend." Adam winked at Kim.
"I will. But I will try to enjoy getting a full spa day. How about you not worry and enjoy your last night out for awhile. Because in about 2 weeks, I may not let my husband go out anymore." Kim rubbed her foot on his leg.
Their breakfast came and they quickly make small talk about some things they needed to do before the wedding.
Adam paid the bill and they headed to the district. They got there about 8:05 and per usual, Platt was waiting for them with a snide comment.
"Skinny britches, special sauce... thank you for gracing us with your presence. Do you have your suitcase Burgess or are we gonna have to take you home to pack before we go?"
"I have it Sarge. It's in the car waiting to go."
"Good, because I cleared it and it looks like we will be able to leave by 3. I want to get a jump on traffic. I'm driving so you giggling gerties can gab the whole way. Now get upstairs and get to work."
"See ya Sarge... remember to watch after my girl. She's going to be missing me so much this weekend." Adam leaned over and kissed Kim's temple.
"Oh for goodness sake. I should arrest you for PDA... now get before I lose my breakfast!" Platt practically yelled. " Go! Vamoose! Rapido!"
The day flew by even though no cases jumped off. Platt cleared it with Voight and she got him to let them all leave early. Adam walked her to the car and put her suitcase in the trunk.
"Hurry up you two, daylight is burning. I want to beat the traffic. Two hours in a car with you ladies will make my head swim", Platt yelled as she got in the car and started it up.
"On the way Sarge, Rojas just ran the bathroom," Hailey said as she jumped in the front seat with Platt.
Kim shrugged as she looked at Adam. "Upton drew the short straw so she gets shotgun with Platt! She smiled as she gave him one last hug and a quick peck on the lips.
"I will see you on Sunday! Let me know when you arrive." Adam held onto her and kissed the top of her head. Rojas bounded down the front steps of the district. Platt revved the engine. A sure sign she was about to leave without them.
They arrived at The Spa, Allyu, around 6:00pm. The place was small, quaint and tucked away in Sterling, Illinois.
"This place is amazing Hailey! How did you find out about it?" Vanessa asked.
"Saw it in a magazine! Said it was relaxing and perfect for a weekend get away!" Hailey smiled. She was thrilled that they liked it.
"Burgess, get off that phone. This is your weekend so don't let Ruzek mess it up with constantly checking in on you! Remember this place is relaxing!" Platt was frowning as Burgess sent a quick text. "Ruzek has been tracking you since you left Chicago. Believe me he knows you made it here safely!"
"Just letting him know that we arrived!"
Burgess's text was short and sweet. "Made it safely. Place is gorgeous! I miss you already! Have fun at your bachelor party. Love you!"
Adam's phone beeped and he smiled when he read the message.
Kev asked, "Burgess arrive safely?"
"Yeah... got there about 20 minutes ago. I was tracking her. But I still wanted to hear from her." Adam was typing a quick reply.
"You got it bad bro!" Kev snorted.
"Don't I know it but wouldn't have it any other way!" Adam grinned as he took another pull on his beer!
"So, where are you and Halstead taking me? I am good for going to some bars but no desire to see a strip club."
Kev laughed and shook his head!
"Come on Trudy! We are ready to go!" Hailey yelled.
"Stop getting your panties in a wad! I'm coming!"
"Quick selfie before we head out please!" Kim got them together then snapped the photo. She quickly sent it to Adam with a heart. "Heading out to eat and then to a club to listen to an 80's cover band."
Adam was sitting at Molly's with the usual crowd. He was handed another shot when his phone dinged. He smiled when he saw the pic and shared the photo around.
Mouch whistled when he saw Trudy. "My girl looks like she is having fun. She has been so excited for this weekend. She had me get about $200 in ones. She can't wait to take Kim to that strip club!"
The look on Adam's face was priceless.
"Just kidding Ruzek. No strip club that I know of. Just wanted to stress you out!" Mouch grinned.
They all laughed at Adam's expense. The guys continued to down shots.
The girls were enjoying the band at the club. The music was great and they had a blast dancing together on the dance floor.
Platt was in rare form. They were enjoying this side of Trudy Platt. She was dancing up a storm and even got on stage to sing karoke.
"Please tell me you got a video of that Kim?" Hailey was laughing as she watched Platt belt out RESPECT by Aretha Franklin.
"Oh yeah! I am getting the whole thing!" Kim and Vanessa was too busy laughing. Platt was actually pretty good.
"Sarge, that was incredible!" Vanessa handed her a drink as soon as she sat back down at their table.
"Oh my. I was incredible wasn't I! I plan on talking to Randall and Herrmann about having a karaoke night at Molly's. It will be a hit and bring in a lot of patrons. Shoot, I will be happy to headline!"
Upton nearly spit out her drink. Platt shot her a look. "Excuse me," Hailey coughed and explained. "Went down the wrong windpipe."
"You should be more careful. Jeez, I feel like I am babysitting here. Let's hit the dance floor girls. I am ready to drop it like its hooooottttt." Platt jumped up and headed to the platform.
"I think we are in trouble with this one," Vanessa said as she swallowed the last of her drink and stood up. Hailey and Kim agreed as they all laughed and stood up. The best way to handle Platt was to just join her because they knew they couldn't beat her.
"Girls, come on with your skinny britches. Don't be intimidated by my moves!" Platt yelled over the music as they made their way onto the dance floor.
Kim was in her own world and didn't realize that she was about to bump into the person behind her.
"Oh excuse me. Sorry for hitting you...". Her voice dropped off as the guy turned around. Kim's face dropped. "What are you doing here?"
Platt is seriously underused on the show. She has the best one-liners and I love any Plattgess scenes we get. Trudy is one of my favorite characters and I miss how she was when Kim and Kev were on patrol. They had the best scenes. Platt is really the heartbeat of the district and always has a pulse on what is happening. So I really wanted to write a chapter that had Platt in full mode! I loved the episode where she sang karaoke at Mo;;y's when it was her birthday. It was so fun to see her let loose! So I wanted to have a fun moment like that in this chapter.
