Dawn of Injustice: Return of the Mavericks Ch. 15 (Finale pt. 2: Preparation for the Fray)

Disclaimer: This is an indirect sequel to the first Dawn of Injustice Loud Heroes story. It follows the Destruction Ending where the Hatchilings of the Phoenix and the Children of the L-Crew sisters are now looking for clues on how will they be able to bring back the Phoenix King, Lincoln Loud (formerly known as Firecracker). Now they are stuck in a timeless plane of existence that is the nexus of all other worlds created. It is the alpha and omega of the worlds, and the realm works as if it never existed and exists as the same time: The World That Never Did. Some characters may return while some may not.

TLH/TC are owned by Nickelodeon Studios. Loud Heroes is owned by Smoking Wrecker [Epic-Wrecker] and Zachlor16.

The champions had finished their tasks inside their chambers within the Memory Skyscraper. What awaited them is to choose sides between the two Mavericks, goddess Materia or god Spiritus. The participants of the fray that is about to come and decide the future (or past) of the world they once belonged to had gathered to greet their guardians, save for those Hatchiling (children of the Phoenix King).

Lori: Oh thank goodness, you both are alright. Now, please… [shifting from caring to slightly infuriated] Who's idea is it to literally send all of you to this suicide mission!?

Lola: Yeah, who was it!?

Logan: It was me. My idea but I was meant to go alone. Although, Lina joined for the same reason and Eclipse did to help Lina and himself get closure for their origin story. It was still my convincing to Aunt Lisa to do this.

Luan: And you did nothing to stop this? You're supposed to be a genius! And yet you treat this risk as a joke that ain't funny!

Lisa: Please, any scientists takes risks for the sake of progress. I merely gave them the tools but at the back of my scholarly instincts, I too was worried so when the others decided to join… I kept thing in discreet until the time is right.

Leni: Come on guys! Like now isn't the time to play blame game here.

Rachel: I agree with big sister Leni.

Richard: Yeah, that's smart of you, Leni.

Leni: Like, thank you but who are you guys?

Lisa: Adoptive siblings, from a different reality's past. Is that correct?

Laney: Wow, so the Lisa of the Regime world is also smart!

Lisa: Not just simply smart, but nigh-omniscient. My knowledge grew vaster than the galaxy thanks to an artifact that our sole brother had unearthed.

[AN: Since Luan's husband is Benny, her last name will be Stein so that any confusion with a different character will be settled. Invisi-Girl's full name is Laura Liberty "Liby" Loud-Stein. Sorry for the inconvenience. Another thing is that Stella's last name Zhau is her Canon-Verse name, but will be different (or same) in some of my AU to at least recognize her ethnicity. One of the staff from the studio did clarify that Stella is a Filipino decent. Thank you for your understanding.]

Laney: Well as much as we loved to hangout with you guys, I'm afraid we can't.

Ehyeh: I agree. The infant is in no place on a fray.

Pandora: My brother and I decided that the four of you to return back to your world. But in return, everything that happened here will be as an ephemeral dream. None of you will remember this place with the exception of your training and improvements.

Richard: So, we don't loose our upgrades?

Ehyeh: Not at all. All you learned here will retain. The memories of your journey here however will be nothing more than a dream that never occur. It is as if you never met them, but if you do meet them in your future endeavors… you'll get pieces of memories that you once had with them. Only fragments of your encounters until you can piece them all together.

Rachel: So I guess this is it?

Lyle/Toby: I'm going to miss my non-related young aunts and uncles from a different reality.

Lita/Rochelle: You're not the only one.

Ehyeh: As for the rest of you who insisted on this trek, you'll battle to maintain energy and the laws of cause and effect for the future or even the past timeline. Meaning, whomever lays victorious in this warfare shall decide the world's future. Spiritus may lend the passing time into a chaotic or tyrannical state or Materia will bring bountiful and harmonious threads of fate.

Pandora: And to be more generous on offering, we may bring back this two Mavericks back to your world unlike the previous ones.

Lynn: And to do that we have to choose which side.

Ehyeh: Precisely, young sportswoman.

Lucy: You already know my choice. I can't be without my brother ever again. Plus he's on the side of magics. Apart from the tyranny part, he seemed to most efficient on maintaining the balance of light and darkness rather than trusting in novice freelancers who are bound to make much more mistakes.

Lori: You're literally kidding right?

Lynn: I'm with Lucy in this. Look, I've never wanted to roughhouse Lincoln but I wanted him to grow strong and independent one day. But seeing that the pain he's been through… it's kinda my fault for giving him a twisted sense of sportsmanship so… yeah, I have to see this through. I need to see the results of my influence along with any others.

Luan: I'm not. As much as I wanted to, if her wins, things will go too far. So I'm with the good here. No joke here.

Leni: I'm like with Luan.

Lori: I'm the eldest so I'll literally be siding with Materia

Lisa: [points at Lana and Lola] As much as we'd like to stay neutral, we'll be siding with Spiritus here. That is, assuming that he is indeed our lost brother.

Lily: Then I'll be with Materia.

Sam: You guys are deciding already? We haven't even made our peace yet!

Carol: She's right. This is war that we are talking about. Even if we are promised that we will return in one piece, that doesn't mean that the damage wasn't done. They only said we will return without any memories of what happened here.

Sam: Yeah, and we might return in coma for years. It's not a guarantee!

Ehyeh: I can understand your trust on us is bleak and small. It is my wrongdoing that made this mess upon all cosmos. But trust that we Primordial Twins are indeed rectifying our faults at our best.

Pandora: We are not to meddle with the affairs of mortals but when things gotten too far and unlocked the secrets of the whole macrocosm, that is when we are allowed to intervene in as much subtle ways possible. Rules of an Immortal, I believe so.

Ehyeh: It was when you all decided to participate that we allowed it at your risk. If you are to ask when, that is to say when you wanted to defy destiny. It was his fate to undo the damages wrought by the Tower of Judgement and paid the price, he had. Not only that but, traveling across the Many-Verse might have intertwined your world to the others. Which is why I am on watch duty to maintain the natural flow of things. So far, the worse that happened was the whole Nightmare leaks by Emerson.

Logan: So what must we do now?

Pandora: Once the sides have been chosen, you are to be given reprieve until the time had been draw that you enter the quasi-sacred battlefield.

During the discussion of sides, the place suddenly quakes and sounds of thunder is heard from the outside. The even shook the people within the skyscraper and a sudden flow of power gave them goosebumps.

Solomon: What was that?

Materia: I feel an ominous presence from the far reaches of this vast barren land.

Spiritus: An interloper? Coming in this even that is to transpire, are they foolish?

Pandora: This is…

Ehyeh: I sense it too sister. Three of them. They had portions of your powers stolen.

Pandora: Can you discern?

Ehyeh: I can. I am all-knowing. These three, one belonged to the void. A rift once again opened and will corrupt the land's life. The other came from a interrupted timeline with a lingering will that remained even after the erasure of his continuity. The other, it feels ominous yet familiar. I cannot disclose any further for if you dare near them, it would be suicide on your part and any chain of reincarnations for you mortals will be broken.

Materia: Yes, this presence belonged to the void.

Spiritus: Death by this means will be equivocal to having your lived permanently forfeited. No Scala nor Xibalba nor Netherworld nor Reincarnation.

Materia: Just emptiness.

Spiritus: We have unwelcomed visitors.

Materia: Until this matters are resolve, I believe we are to postpone our fray.

Ehyeh: I supposed it is for the best.

Pandora: This feeling, it's devouring this world's cyclic energy and will rip the balance. We must resolve this posthaste.

Ehyeh: We shall investigate on this matter.

Eclipse: Wait! Then what are we supposed to do? We can't just stay still and do nothing!

Spiritus: I supposed you can still prepare for the fight but not against each other. Rather, for the coming interloper instead.

Materia: Yes, of that we can do. And those who will decide to be neutral and spectate or leave, you can fight those that will hinder your exit.

Renzo: Well we can't just let these four children be at risk of ceasing to live.

Tom: I'll be with you on that. These kids don't belong here.

Jax: As much as I hate babysitting brats, these runts need to go and we will watch over them.

Leopold then smiles and gesture a hug to Tom/Replicate, to which he obliged. Laney offered her many thanks and get readies.

Logan: We must ready… A storm is approaching.

AN: I had to keep this short and I asked from those teasers/trailers on which team should the characters be affiliated. Although nobody had gave a response so I have to delay the teams. Not only that but some of the parts that I once presented in the trailers may not appear. October is already near and I haven't got a decent finish yet. September is gonna be over so I hope I am more active on the next month. I guess this month was a rather depressing month since many news of deaths and tragedies occurred [such as 911]. Anyways, I was planning on having more Alastor & Dark Slayer moments since DmC 5 Special Edition had released a trailer but that will depend on the plot consistency.

Return of the Maverick might be the final of the Dawn of Injustice series of my take of Loud Heroes. I might even stop [or minimize] any Loud House related content due to the series getting a bit stale. If somehow that TLH/TC will be better for the next seasons, then good. I will still continue Bloody Roar Loud but it will have more Bloody Roar content rather than TLH/TC. Hilariously, I'm actually going to finish Xcalibur before the year ends [it only lasted one year]. Also, what do you think of Marvel vs MHA: Age of Heroes? Kinda like Marvel vs Capcom right? Will it be good, I dunno. As hobbyist writer, I still needed help from different authors and sources.
