Episode 8: Rocky Mountain High, Valley Low.

Lakitu VO: Last time on the Incredible Crossover Race 2! The teams went to the snowy mountains AKA The Alps which was close to Germany. Here our teams had to get sausage making and a few of them nearly got sick of that. I mean these people are seriously disgusting! The most humiliating challenge of all was the German dance they performed while wearing lederhosen or a dirndl if you're a female and most people had a good laugh about their teammates in those ridiculous clothing. The Dark Figures snagged first and sadly Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong got into a tailspin with a vicious mountain goat earning them both a one way ticket out of the game after coming in last.
(Lakitu appears.)
Lakitu: Who knows what could happen today, and when will Ludwig return? Only time will tell but now it's time to tune in right now on... The Incredible Crossover Race 2!
(A shine goes off one of the lenses to the glasses and it starts up the intro.)

Episode 8: Rocky Mountain High, Valley Low.
(We now go to the finish line from the last episode.)
Lakitu: Guten tag and welcomen back to Germany! The Dark Figures won yesterday so they'll be starting off by getting the first travel tip.
(They already step up to the cloudbox and get the tip.)
Dark Prince: We're going to the rocky mountains! Which one though in this state or country?
(A picture of the Mountain world from Super Mario Bros. is shown.)
Lakitu: None of them really! It's actually located right here in the Super Mario Bros. universe. It's also known as the rock world. This world features many tall mountains, high cliffs, and deep Dark caves which the teams will have to experience for today. Team's will have to get to the airport and take a transporter pipe to that world. Once they exit out of the pipe, there will be a cloudbox right there waiting for them.
(They leave as other teams get their tips.)
Bowsette: We're going to the mountain world!
Booette: We are from that universe! So we might have ourselves an advantage!
(Interview: Gender Benders.)
Booette: A place where we actually have something we're familiar with.
Bowsette: I can bet we can get first in this race. If we don't, (voice changing) I just don't know... WHAT I WOULD DO! (Back to normal voice.) So let's do our best.
(As the teams leave, we go to the final team at the cloudbox.)
Delphox: Yesterday was a close call.
Braixen: Despite that little setback I had, it's time for redemption.
Delphox: You feel better after yesterday?
Braixen: Yeah much better. As long as I never experience that again.
Delphox: Well you won't because we're heading to the mountains. Let's go!
(Time skip ahead with the teams arriving at the airport and line up to take the transporter pipe to the mountain world.)
Dragonlord: Here's the cloudbox! (Gets the tip.) Find the tallest mountain in this place where you will find the next cloudbox outside the entrance to its cave.
Dark Prince: There's like a million mountains here! How are we going to find the right one?
Screwball(looking through the periscope): Already see it! It's over there! (They head down the path to the mountain.)
Dragonlord: Follow them! We cannot let them beat us! (The rest of the teams followed the two teams ahead of them and make their way to the mountain.)
(It only took a few minutes for the teams to get to the mountain and found the cloudbox right by the cave's entrance. Screwball reaches it first and got the tip.)
Screwball: It's a one or the other, above ground or underground.
(Lakitu appears floating on his cloud travelling up the mountain.)
Lakitu: For this one or the other challenge, team will either have the choice of hiking up this long mountain which is NOT taller than Mount Everest! That's not all, they also have to carry a heavy backpack with them up the mountain, and what is in the bags is something very important they need in order to finish. Ditch your pack, and you're due for a major penalty. As for the underground challenge, teams will need to head inside the caves and look for a golden nugget. Not to worry, they will have miner caps with flashlights and pickaxes so they can see around them. Once their gold is placed in the bin outside the exit and they scale the mountain, it's a race down that path to the tower/fortress which is the location of the finish line for today. Last team to arrive, could be heading home!
Screwball: Want to go underground and be alone for awhile?
Mothball: I think I know where this is going! Let's do it!
(They get their tools and head underground.)
Dark Prince: Finding a gold nugget underground takes awhile. We're hiking up the mountain.
Dragonlord: Agreed!
(The teams make their choices on what challenge to pick.)
Link: Over!
Booette: Over!
Jessica: Underground I guess.
Sonic: Over!
Gemstone: Under!
Prism: Wait, what?
(Interview: Crusaders.)
Prism: Ok, I actually want to go on record and say: What the hay now? You want to go underground?
Gemstone: Don't judge me! Besides, Mummy told me she could find gems, so I want to see if I can too.
Prism: Like mother, like daughter.
Ocellus: Want to go exploring underground?
Thorax: I guess so.
Gallus: We're coming too!
Silverstream: We're friends and we stick together no matter what.
Gallus: What she said.
Ciel(monotone): Over!
Cherry: Under!
Blueberry(getting the mining equipment): Down we go!
Fox: Up the mountain. You with me?
Falco: Do you even have to ask?
Delphox: I know what you might pick so you want to go uphill or-
Braixen: Yes! Oh, uh I mean of course! If you want to suggest something else.
Delphox: No besides you know I can tell you want to go this way because of you know who.
Braixen(blushing): Oh, right. Let's get going!
Lightning: Bet you can't beat me to the top of the mountain.
Thunder: Bet I can! 321 go!
Lightning: Hey no fair you got a head start!
Lip: Hmmm, these looks so difficult. I can't decide which one. What do you think Windy? (To her surprise she saw her going into the cave.) Underground mining it is. (She follows her in the cave.)
Lakitu VO: There's no telling what will happen next. Who will survive? Who can navigate through the dark and spooky cave or whoever chose above ground, up the mountain? Stay tuned to find out as The Incredible Crossover Race 2 is to be continued.
(Break)
(Break time ends and we go to the seven teams that are now in the cave.)
Windy: It's dark!
Lip: It is a dark cave after all.
(In front of the teams were four separate paths.)
Jessica: No other choice, we have to split into pairs or go alone if you prefer.
Cherry: We can give signals to anyone who finds the exit. It can be- (Blueberry puts a hoof on her mouth.)
Blueberry: Not a good idea to do that. (They go into one tunnel with the Crusaders following them. Screwball and Mothball take the far right tunnel and go alone. The Flight Friends go with the Changelings in a different path.)
Patty: I guess it's just us!
Windy: You want to go with us?
Jessica: It's better than just standing here in the dark.
(Pan to the mountain as the teams are running to the top.)
Zelda: We're not even halfway yet and I'm getting a little tired.
Link: Let's rest for a few minutes then keep going.
(The Speedster Friends pass by.)
Tails: You're getting tired already?
Link: We're just taking a breather.
Sonic: Well good luck! Try and keep up!
Lightning: Can't keep up with me! I'm winning!
Thunder: Not for long I'm winning this time!
Lightning: We'll see about that!
Thunder: No we won't see!
Booette: Coming through!
Bowsette: We're making good progress! We'll see how these people like- SPIKE BALL!!
(A spiky ball was rolled downhill enough for them to jump out of the way.)
Booette: What was that?
(Pan to the peak of the mountain with Morton rolling them down.)
Morton: I had a lot of Spike balls and I hate letting them go to waste.
(Down below were the Brains and Enthusiast walking leisurely.)
Sig(monotone): Slow and steady.
Ciel(monotone): They like to go fast, we go slow. We prefer this way of pacing ourselves.
(Back to the underground cavern.)
Mothball: It's just nice to be all alone together.
Screwball: No distractions, no interruptions, and we have peace and quiet.
Mothball: Should we find the gold first? Then we get have some alone time if you know what I mean.
Screwball: Oh I get you. (
Prism: I still can't believe you want to go in here.
Gemstone: It's just one time! Besides, there might be other shiny diamonds down here.
Cherry: Like what?
Blueberry: There's also diamonds, gems, rubies, sapphires, etc. You never know!
Gemstone: I think I want to find one of those and bring it home to my mummy.
Prism: I don't think it's a good idea! We're only allowed to find gold in this mine!
Blueberry: Here's one! (Pickaxed the wall and got a golden nugget.)
Cherry: That was easy! Now how do we get out of here?
Gemstone: You have your lights. Use them to guide you out, but it's like a maze down here.
(Another part of the cave.)
Lip: Any specific adventures you have been on?
Jessica: Nothing much.
Windy: Do you have any friends right now?
Patty: No, I think going solo is what we prefer. We do want to make friends but we can't get distracted.
(They come across another split.)
Lip: Which way now?
Patty: I guess this is where we part ways! We'll go right and we'll see you two later!
Windy: Pleasure meeting you!
(Cut back on the mountain as the Evolution Foxes hide in the bush as they avoid those spiky balls.)
Delphox: Coast is clear!
Braixen: Are you sure?
Delphox: Positive! Let's go!
(As they come out of hiding, Braixen gets tugged back a little as she noticed one of the straps was caught on one of the branches.)
Braixen: Hey, I'm stuck!
Delphox: Take the bag off!
Braixen: I can't ditch it! We'll be penalized if we do! Someone help me off this!
(The Pilots were coming by.)
Delphox: Excuse me gentleman, can you get my partner off that branch and unstuck? Her strap got tangled!
Falco: Alright, we'll spare minute or two.
Fox: Try and get the strap untangled! I'll grab her paws and pull on three ready? 1..
Falco: 2... 3!!
(They used all their strength to get her unstuck.)
Falco: Almost... Got it!
(He gets the strap off and it was enough to get her free as it suddenly tipped them both to fall on the ground with Braixen on top and Fox on the ground. The moment that happened, both of them were blushing and said nothing.)
Falco: Uhh, what's going on?
Fox: This isn't what it looks like!
Braixen: Yeah we weren't about to uh... (She quickly gets off him and helps him up.) That was an accident! Sorry!
Fox: That's ok, I should be going now! See ya!
Braixen: Uh bye!
(Interview: Pilots.)
Falco: What was that all about?
Fox: What do you mean?
Falco: That girl who fell on top of you. She started blushing when she almost kissed you.
Fox: Oh... that!
Falco: Does she like you? I mean 'like like' you?
Fox: Yeah and I thought I was the only one who knew that.
(Interview: Evolution Foxes.)
Delphox: I see you made some headway.
Braixen: Yes, he totally likes me!! Now all I need to do is go in for the kiss. I'm not sure if I'm ready for it yet.
Delphox: Just find the right moment then go for it! Trust me!
(Cut back to the cave with the Flight Friends and Changelings still searching together.)
Gallus: It's been 10 minutes and still nothing!
Ocellus: Well it's not easy when finding gold in a lost mine.
Thorax: It's ok, just stick together and we'll find one in no time and get out of here.
(There was a rumbling sound coming.)
Silverstream: Um, was that any of us?
Thorax: No, that was a-
Gallus: BOULDER!!
Ocellus: Run!!!
(All 4 of them ran off from the Boulder rolling towards them. They go in a one direction as the Boulder was rolling closer and went the opposite direction.)
Thorax: I think we're safe!
Silverstream: Back to searching! Looks like we're all- Whoa! (Tripped over a rock and onto the ground.
Ocellus: Are you ok Silver?
Gallus: Yeah that must have been one- Gah! (Trips over the same rock and fell right onto her.)
Thorax: You guys ok? I'll shine the light to where you- Oh... my
Ocellus: Thorax, what is it? What's wr- Whoa! Is that...
(The light shined on the two of them which shows they were kissing.)
Silverstream: Oh my-
Gallus: -goodness It... It was a complete accident!
Silverstream: Um yeah. (She immediately started blushing.)
Gallus: Look, promise me you won't tell anyone else about that! Please?
Thorax: We won't say a word.
Ocellus: Pinkie Promise!
Gallus: Thank you!
Thorax: Wait a minute, I see something shining right there! (Shines the light to the source.) Let's see! (Uses the axe and out pops a piece of gold.) Aha! Found one!
Silverstream: Can we have it?
Ocellus: Wait she has a point! I forgot we still have the bypass ticket. This could be our last chance to use the it since it expires today.
Gallus: She has a point!
Thorax: Alright, (gives the nugget to Gallus) now how do we get out of here?
Ocellus: Follow me, I think it might be this way!
(As they head off to the exit we cut back to the outside of the mountain as the teams are still walking or running up the mountain.)
Sig(monotone): I never been more relaxed!
Ciel(monotone): This is how I prefer to travel.
Sig(monotone): Hey look, there's a passage right here!
Ciel(monotone): Let's try it. It's quieter and I don't see anyone else going this way.
(After they go that way, one team came up and saw them go that way.)
Booette: Those two have the right idea!
Bowsette: Let's follow them and we'll get to the top faster.
Booette: Right behind you.
(They take the same path but one of their bags got tangled on the branch pulling them back.)
Bowsette: Oh come on! My bag's caught on a branch.
Booette: This is really tough to get off!
Bowsette: You know what? Just ditch it and let's go!
Booette: What about the penalty?
Bowsette: Eh, we'll still be in the game when it's over.
(Sonic and Tails were about to cross a bridge.)
Tails: What's a mini bridge doing on a mountain?
Sonic: I'm not sure! But I know there's no deep pit down there!
Tails: Incoming!
(Another spiky ball was rolling to them and jump down the pit which was 4 1/2 feet deep.)
Sonic: It isn't even that deep.
Tails: That means the spike balls roll on the bridge.
Sonic: Let's keep going!
(Go to the peak of the mountain with the first team getting to the top out of breath.)
Dark Prince: That... is... the... last... time... we're... doing... things... like that.
(The TV turns on which was a message from Lakitu.)
Lakitu(on the screen): Hello teams! Congrats on making it to the top of the mountain! In your bags, you will find tools to help you get to the finish line as long as you didn't ditch your backpack! See you at the finish line!Dragonlord: What can be of use to us in these heavy bag carriers?
Dark Prince: We have... a bunch of equipment which is for... zip lining? Again?
(They get themselves strapped on and zip on to the finish. We now head back inside the cave with the Fairies still searching.)
Windy: Nothing but darkness for all I can see.
Lip: We have been in this cave for half an hour and found nothing.
Windy: I can barely see where we are and we- Whoa! (She nearly fell into a deep pit but got pulled back to safety.) Thanks!
Cherry: No problem! Anything for a friend in need!
Lip: How and when did you get here? (Shines the light to a huge hole in the wall.) Did you break through that wall?
Cherry: Yeah, how did you know?
Lip: Call it a hunch! You know where we can find any gold around here?
Blueberry: I'd try that way. (Points left.)
Windy: Thank you!
(In another part of the cave were the Crusaders in a rock candy part of the cave.)
Prism: Ok Gem, we're lost aren't we?
Gemstone: No, I know where we are. We're just in a fabulous colorful part of the cave!
Prism: Yeah, nothing says colorful like rocks that are made of- (She broke a piece off and gave it taste.) candy? Rock candy?
Gemstone: Oh my, we must be in a section with rock candy!
(The Dragon Questers who were walking by saw them.)
Patty: What is this?
Prism: Rock candy! It's like heaven if you ask me.
(At the cave exit was Captain Toad waiting for the teams. Two teams made it out.)
Ocellus: We want to use this ticket here.
Captain Toad: This is your chance to use it so I'll allow it!
Thorax: Thanks!
Silverstream: And here's our golden nugget! (Hands him the piece of gold.)
Captain Toad: Go on ahead both of you!
(Skip ahead to the finish with Lakitu waiting for the teams to arrive. One team zips in and released from the zip line and onto the rug.)
Dark Prince: Perfect 10 point landing!
Lakitu: It was more of an 8.5 but congrats on coming in first again!
Dragonlord: Do you have a decent reward for us young cloud warrior?
Lakitu: Nope, just the satisfaction of getting two wins in a row which is more than enough right?
Dark Prince: That is such a lame prize!
(Interview: Dark Figures.)
Dark Prince: To win once again and receive nothing again?
Dragonlord: We hath better get something promising or else he shall hear the wrath of the Lord of Dragons!
Lakitu: Now that we have the team in first, it's time to see what everyone else gets and hope it isn't last!
(At the peak of the mountain was Lightning and Thunder who were inches from the top and crawling out of breath.)
Lightning: I hate long treks up the mountain!
Thunder: At least we made it, and I totally beat you!
Lightning: Nuh uh, I got here before you!
Link: All strapped in?
Zelda: I'm ready!
Link: Off we go!
(Both of them zip down along with the Pilots and Evolution Foxes.)
Lightning: Hurry up slowpoke!
Thunder: Takes one to know one!
(The Gender Benders arrive at the top.)
Bowsette: You didn't say we were going to need our backpacks!
Thunder: What the hay? You ditched your pack?
Booette: I knew it was a bad idea!
(Interview: Gender Benders.)
Bowsette: Ok, so I ditched my pack! Big deal. At least you still have yours!
Booette: You better hope this doesn't break from both of our weight.
Bowsette: No worries, with the two of us, we'll go faster than these people.
(Two more teams arrive at the finish line.)
Lakitu: 2nd to the Changelings and Flight Friends take 3rd.
Gallus: That's a better placement than last time.
Lakitu: Changelings one question, if you wanted to use bypass ticket, why'd you still go through the dark cave?
Ocellus: We're friends! We want to stay by their side no matter what.
Lakitu: No comment. Now move along, here come some more.
(The Hyrule Heroes jump on the finish line before the Pie Sisters stepped on.)
Lakitu: Heroes in 4th. Pie Sisters 5th.
(In the cave challenge, The Dragon Questers give Captain Toad their piece of gold and leave. The Chaotic Couple also hands him the gold and leaves. This leaves the Crusaders and Fairies finding their way out as they both finally found a gold nugget. Up on the mountain, we're the Speedster Friends strapping in for zip lining. The last team to get to the top were the Brains and Enthusiast who strap themselves to the zip line and zip on down.)
(Meanwhile we skip ahead to the finish line as the next set of teams finish the leg with their placements said and pictures shown where each team positioned.)
Lakitu VO: 6th. (Pilots), 7th. (Evolution Foxes). 8th. (Dash Twins).
(Booette and Bowsette release and land on the ground and onto the rug.)
Lakitu: Ladies, you're number 9.
Booette: Aww, I thought it would be higher than that!
Lakitu: Actually, it's gonna get lower for you two cause you two received a 10 minute penalty for ditching your backpack Bowsette!
(A clock with 10 minutes appears.)
Booette: Darn it!
Bowsette: It's only 10 minutes.
(The next team to arrive were the Dragon Questers followed by the Chaotic Couple.)
Lakitu: 9th place! Couple, you're in 10th!
(Both the Fairies and Crusaders are still searching for the exit as they both see the light in separate directions.)
Lip: Look! I can see light!
Gemstone: We made it! We're alive!
Prism: Now can we get out here?
Windy: We're almost there!
(All of a sudden both of them bump into each other and drop their pieces of gold.)
Lip: Sorry!
Prism: It's ok. Just grab your gold and let's get out of here!
Gemstone: Wait a minute! (She dug up something she came across and it happens to be a sapphire.) A sapphire! My mummy's going to love this gift!
Prism: Really? The other team already left. We gotta catch up to them or we're homers!
Gemstone: Coming! (She and Prism race off to catch up with the Fairies.)
(There was only 3 minutes left on the Gender Benders penalty as they were growing more impatient.)
Bowsette: How much longer now?
Lakitu: You still have 3 minutes left. Hope the other teams don't get here otherwise you're both gonzo.
(That's when the Speedster Friends arrive next.)
Lakitu: Speedster Friends, 11th place!
Sonic: We gotta try harder tomorrow!
Tails: Agreed.
(Lip and Windy were running as fast as they can when they spot the Gender Benders waiting on the side.)
Lip: Look! A team is waiting by the finish line!
Windy: They must be penalized! We can make it!
(Only one more minute remains on the penalty.)
Lakitu: Time's almost up and it's gonna be a close one!
(In the nick of time, Lip and Windy made it to the rug.)
Lakitu: Lip and Windy, you edged out and still live to see another day! 12th place.
(Ciel and Sig jump on the rug next after they left.)
Lakitu: Brains and Enthusiast, you're also still in it! 13th.
Ciel(monotone): Whoo-hoo.
Sig(monotone): That went well.
Lakitu: 30 seconds left and here come the Crusaders!
(From a distance were Prism and Gemstone running as fast as they can. Bowsette and Booette were getting more nervous than usual.)
(Interview: Gender Benders.)
Bowsette: Ok, taking this penalty was a bad idea. At this rate, we're definitely going home!
Booette: For once I agree! Why did this have to happen? Why???
(15 seconds left on the clock.)
Prism: I can see the finish line! We're going to make it!
Gemstone: Almost there! We can't lose this!
(Suddenly, disaster strikes as Gemstone tripped on a stone and it made her fall to the ground while her sapphire fell off the edge.)
Gemstone: My sapphire!!
Prism: Oh come on! Seriously?
Lakitu: And in 3, 2, 1,
(The buzzer goes off.)
Lakitu: Ladies, time's up! 14th place.
Booette: That's more like it!
(Lakitu goes over to the Crusaders who weren't that far.)
Gemstone(sniffling): My present for mum, gone! All gone!
Lakitu: Uh girls, in case you forgot, you are the last team to arrive. AKA last place.
Prism: I guess we're done huh?
Lakitu: Unfortunately yes so-
?: Wait just a minute!!
(A familiar face arrives back on his clown car and jumps out.)
Lakitu: Ludwig, you're back!
Ludwig: That's right! I'm back baby! As for you Crusaders time to hit the road!
Prism: I know!
Ludwig: To tomorrow next destination because this one is a non elimination round!! You both survive!
Gemstone: Really?
Ludwig: Yep, but you still have a penalty challenge to do tomorrow though! (Turns to the screen). Well I'm back baby! We had 15 and it's still at 15, but I promise you tomorrow we will be down to 14. Who will be next? Nobody knows!
Lakitu(whispers): My money's on those two. (points to the Crusaders.)
Prism: Hey!
Ludwig: You don't want to miss any of the action next time on... The Incredible Crossover Race!!
Lakitu: 2!!
Ludwig: I'm gonna have to take your mouth shut!

Sorry about the long wait, but thank you all for being so patient. This chapter title is a little bit similar to another race series by another writer. Shoutout to you, and I won't take long for the next chapter which will have a big survival challenge. Who will survive?
